Facility is great. Service is wonderful. The esthetician's usually recommend what treatments you might need based on their evaluation. I had some trouble with billing though. They dont communicate clearly, at least with me and I ended up paying extra for a service that I din take. But overall it was good. read more

Electrolysis review: Sheila quite literally changed my life. I have blonde hair, blue eyes, and fair skin. I had hair on my face and neck - what I used to jokingly call my "beard" - but it wasn't funny. I spent time in the mirror every morning and night tweezing hairs and wouldn't dare wear my hair up for anything but a workout - should I expose those unsightly "sideburns" more than I wanted. I tried everything - waxing, depilatories, even the "No!No!" hair removal system from an infomercial - I was desperate. Yes, I also tried laser hair removal - but I am not a good candidate as the laser needs contrast between the hair and your skin to work. It only marginally helped, plus it was expensive. Enter Sheila and Georgetown Rejuvenation - recommended to me by my dermatologist. Sheila was kind, explained the process to me, and never once judged me for needing treatment on my face (as I'd received many a time by waxers). Electrolysis kills the hair follicle - it is a PERMANENT treatment - but it takes time. We have millions of follicles of hair in our skin! I went to Sheila about 20 times over the course of a year (about every two weeks) from 2014-2015. I spent the same amount with Sheila as I paid for just five laser hair treatments at another salon - which didn't even work for me. I just went back to Sheila at the beginning of 2017 to have a few touch up sessions before my wedding in June. I haven't needed to go in the past two years and don't see myself needing to go again for several years more - if at all. If I ever see hair on my face now it is super fine (and blonde) - not enough to notice. I only wanted to go back now since I have all these wedding photos (and close ups!) coming up. I wanted to love this experience because I am getting married this year and want to start getting facials regularly, but don't think I will be back to Georgetown Rejuvenation. My esthetician was late, but that didn't bother me as I wasn't in a hurry. I was offered honey ginger tea which somehow smelled like cigarette smoke??! I was ushered into a room with two stations separated by a divider. This was frustrating because I was hoping for a quiet and relaxing experience, but the person getting a facial on the other side of the divider talked and laughed the entire time. It was not a private or relaxing experience. The facial itself was fine, but when it came time to pay, things got awkward. My esthetician had brought products to the counter for me as if I were going to buy them. The gentleman working the computer informed me my total was $150. When I called to schedule the service, i specifically requested the G.T. Signature Deep Pore Facial, which is very clearly listed as $135 on the website. He said that for the services I received, it was actually $150 and to "check the website, it's on the website." I was never explicitly asked if I wanted a service that cost additional money. If you are going to charge more than the requested service, you need to ask explicitly if I want an additional service instead of just doing it. My esthetician was nice and the ladies in the store were nice, but my facial was not good. I wanted a facial specifically for extractions and I still have a TON of blackheads on my face. There was no consultation phase of the appointment... she just started working and evidently completed some additional services I had not requested. I really love this place and plan to continue getting electrolysis and laser here (I purchased a Groupon to have my underarms done, and this is one place you don't have to worry that quality/service won't be as good because you're using a Groupon). I will be a customer long after my Groupon treatments are complete. The staff is friendly, Sheila is great and makes sure she gets my armpits SO WELL. It's definitely painful, but I am so thankful she turns the machine up high so I get the best effects. My only concern with regards to Georgetown Rejuvination is that I sometimes feel like I don't get the full appointment time. For instance, I purchase 15 minutes of electrolysis and sometimes it seems like it's over in 8-9 minutes. This could just be because they feel they've gotten it all in that specific area, but for the price, you'd hope they'd do the full time and offer to do other areas for the remainder of the time etc. That's one suggestion for improvement, but I do love this place, and will continue coming back. read more

Life Changer! Shelia and her staff are more than amazing. I've struggled with unwanted facial and body hair for awhile and didn't know what to do about it. The methods I was trying left me with scars and it was pretty embarrassing. My mom told me about electrolysis (she also goes to Georgetown Rejuvenation) so I figured I'd try it. From the minute I walked in Shelia made me feel right at home and assured me that I wasn't the only female who struggled with this problem and she reassured me that her and her staff could help and they did! Electrolysis really does work and although it does take several treatments, the results are well worth it. I can't imagine what my skin would look like if I never started coming here. This woman is the BEST!!!!! I have been getting my chin done since 2004! And after seeing her for the past 3 months, my chin hair is finally almost GONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Something about the machine she uses I guess. And when it feels like she might be about to pull a hair prematurely, just wiggle around and she'll zap, re-zap, triple zap if necessary. Some places try to rush you and pull hairs when you can feel it hasn't hit the root yet, hence the pulling. In doing so, it delays the process of the hair not returning ever again and you have to keep going back! I haven't had her do a facial for me, especially since I take good care of my skin already and the only reason I actually get facials is b/c it includes extractions. I might consider letting her do a facial for me.... And most certainly will if she ever offers a Yelp discount. lolol. Seriously though, I've been to about 9 different hair removal places in 10 yrs and she is hands down the undisputed champion of electrolysis PERMANENT hair removal. read more

This is a review of the Laser and electrolysis treatments I have had done at Georgetown Electrolysis. First let me say yes Sheila is very friendly and always welcoming. I went in last year to start having electrolysis done but was convinced to try Laser treatments even though my hairs were red. I was told that she had one of the newest lasers and that it would work. After having 5 Laser treatments and 2 electrolysis appointments inbetween I decided to switch to electrolysis since I wasn't really seeing any results. I only had 2 electrolysis appointments after having the laser here and they insisted that I have the laser treatment before she would do the electrolysis(so if you add those in I had 7 laser treatments 3 1 hour electrolysis and 1 15min electrolysis in all) and of course having laser before electrolysis cut into the hour). While completing the electrolysis and sometimes the Laser treatments many phone calls were taken and she did not once excused her self but rather tried to keep working while on the phone. I have since started having electrolysis treatments elsewhere and was told that my hair doesn't look like it has every been touched. I really feel like I wasted my money here. Many seem happy with there eyebrows and facials but if you are looking into electrolysis I would recommend going elsewhere. read more

Massi is amazing! I relocated to the area a few years ago and struggled to find an esthetician to wax/thread my brows to my satisfaction. Worst facial EVER. It was not relaxing whatsoever considering the room was directly off the main waiting area and Sheila did not bother closing the door during the facial so she could hear the phone or other clients come in which means she frequently left the room to deal with them. The room was cold and she talked agressively the entire time. The worst was that she also used paper towels, and not even nice paper towels, instead of cloth towels to take product off my face. The type of paper towels one uses in public bathrooms that actually smell like glue when they are wet! Not nice at all. The facial was suppose to last 50-60 minutes and was rushed through in 25 minutes! I did not feel like I got my what I paid for. She was rude and I will not be returning. read more

I went to Georgetown Electrolysis Skin Care for a facial and microderm. I was introduced through groupon but would pay the full price for their services. As soon as you walk in you are welcomed by a relaxing atmosphere and friendly faces. This salon is not like other ones that I have been to, you feel like you are a guest in someone's home. They even asked me if I wanted to share some of their lunch. Sheila and her daughter pay close attention to you and the facial and microderm were the best that I have ever had. I went twice to get my eyebrows threaded and the first time the esthetician seemed to pay a lot of attention to what she was doing and my eyebrows looked great! The second time I went, I came out with lopsided eyebrows that have been trimmed way too thin. One of my eyebrows is completely out of whack an the other one is way too small. I called and I was able to get in an appointment 3 hours after I called. Once I got there, I was warmly greeted by the staff and I immediately was taken into the room for my facial ($95 microdermabrasion facial special). My facial was extremely thorough and I could tell a lot of care was put into the process. At the end of my facial, I saw an immediate change in my skin. It was extremely smooth and looked brighter from the microdermabrasion. The massage that I also received really helped with relaxation as well. I would highly recommend coming here for a facial. I would NEVER go there again. I used a groupon to get a facial and a chemical peel . It was the worst facial I've ever received. First, the woman didn't cover my hair so as she was applying products to my face, my hair was getting wet. The woman barely looked at my face before applying mask to it. In addition, she kept going in and out of the room to have random conversations with other clients and staff members about issues. They were extremely loud which didn't allow for a calming experience. At one point, the woman came back into the room ON THE PHONE and proceeded to wipe the mask off my face while ON the phone! Lastly, I've never had someone so rough on my face while performing extractions. If you're looking for a calming experience and quality customer service, then this is NOT the place. Mitra is the best esthetician as she goes above and beyond of what usually expected. She is very patient and spends a decent time doing extractions on my face which matters the most to me. I have an acne-prone skin and I breakout a lot despite my good routine skin care. Simply the best in the DMV area. I have had my eyebrows threaded since 1996 and love threading over waxing. I stayed with the same threader since then. However, getting an appointment since she moved to a new salon became a hassle at times. Also the distance didn't make it easy. None of that matter at times when it came to getting my brows threaded. Why? I couldn't find a threader that was as good as my "then" threader that "was" 45 minutes away from where I live. UNTIL NOW! I found Niloo....man is she the best brow person in the DMV area to me. I'm all about precision....and eyebrows that fit your face. Niloo does that and more. I made an appointment today at 5:30p and due to circumstances beyond my control, I arrived 15 minutes late. Niloo still took her time with threading, plucking, and cutting my eyebrows. Not only was she very professional, she proved her case about having keen precision and being able to shape eyebrows to fit my face. When I couldn't get an appointment with my "then" threader, I would go to places that were recommended by Washingtonian Magazine. Once my brows were threaded, I was unhappy. At times, I had to coach the threader on where to thread. How could an eyebrow threading business make it in the Washingtonian Mag as one of the best, yet displease many of its customers due to inexperienced threaders. For me, those were first and last moments. I have finally found my eyebrow threading home with Niloo. 1) She educated me on regrowing hair that had been mistakenly plucked by those novice threaders from my past. 2) I met Sheila who is a wonderful person. 3) GES is 15 minutes from where I live. 4) Very professional staff. This place is the best! I bought a 6 pack of laser hair removal for a small area (underarms). I have now completed 3 of the 6 rounds (I go every 4-6 weeks) and have seen an incredible difference. Even after the first round, I realized that a week later, my hair wasn't growing back like it used to. I used to not even look like I had clean shaved ten minutes after I had. Once some of it started to grow back, it was so much softer than before, was easy to shave, and stayed clean for days at a time. I look forward to when I won't have to shave more than once a month, if that. Sheila is the best - so kind and funny. The machine is a beast and I'm in and out of the room with Sheila in less than ten minutes. I'm almost done with my laser hair removal, and honestly, I noticed a huge difference just after the second treatment. I'm white, but I tan well, with fairly dark hair. I would recommend laser hair removal in the winter while you're the most pale. The contrast helps the laser work even better. It doesn't hurt too much. They recently got a new laser. Eyebrow experts! I have had my eyebrows butchered countless times. I did my homework this time and decided to get them threaded at Georgetown Electrolysis & Skincare. The Arlington location is great. Relaxing and they treat you like a friend. There is no in and out like a factory at this business. Upon inspection I was asked if I ever dyed my eyebrows, which I had not. After being told that it would make a difference bec I have a lot of blond brows (I am a dark brunette) I said, why not! WOW, I had no idea I even had that many hairs in my eyebrows. The shape is already so much better than when I walked through the door. I think that within a few sessions here my eyebrows will be as best as they have ever looked without any sign of the years of bad waxing/tweezing that I have put them through. I am VERY picky and critical and I have no complaints. While you may be able to find threading places that are a bit cheaper, you definitely won't find one that is better kept with nice, professional staff who treat you well. It is worth every penny and more. This is an A+ find for a DC newbie read more
