I went to Georgetown electrolysis to get an electrolysis treatment for an hour. I got there early and Sheila (I believe that's her name) greeted me and was sweet enough to take me in early although she had an apportionment before mine. She treated me for about 10 minutes on my face and paused when her other appointment showed up. I went in for the second portion of my appointment which lasted approximately 20 more minutes because she was quite fast, talkative and whatnot. The second portion was supposed to be Brazilian area which I must say she wasn't very thorough since she mainly did the "front". What's funny is that even though we "finished" 30 minutes early, her next apportionment was in the wait room already (and on time) and even though I was services for 30 minutes I ended up paying $80 or full hour rate. Needless to say I will not return. The owner was sweet talkative and intelligent but I didn't get the service I was hoping for. Ladies trust me, I travel a lot and have gotten electrolysis in the best places. Don't waste your money or time. read more

I went to Sheila for electrolysis for about a year. I am giving it two stars (rather than one) because she's very friendly, and that kept me there for so long, but I really saw no results. The hair was the same as always, but I kept wasting money on electrolysis. However, I switched to a different place for electrolysis which worked really well, and convinced me that I had been wasting my time for a year. Also, Sheila seems to have slightly sketchy cleanliness practices, doesn't wear gloves during electrolysis, and has left to go greet another client and even talked on the phone while working on me. I came to Georgetown Rejuvenation hoping that getting laser hair removal for my bikini line would fix the problem. Well I just finished my last session out of 6 and I have not had a single in-grown in months. While it did not get rid of 100% of the hair, it got rid of 80% of it. I came to this location by word of mouth and reviews from my fellow Yelp users. If you have any unsightly patches of hair this is the place to go to make it disappear. I'm one of the weird few who couldn't get my face waxed or threaded without turning into Freddy Krueger afterwards. The though of laser hair removal was scary and costly but after a few visits here and increased confidence in my results I say if you have then wolf going on then come here. The staff is very friendly and understanding. You may think you're the hairiest they've seen but it isn't true and after a few visits you won;t miss our winter coat. Making an appointment is recommended, if they don't answer the phone leave a message and they will return your call. If you're going to walk-in then do it in the morning as they tend to get very busy. Sheila does the laser and electrolysis and my mother's brows never looked so good with Nelu's threading magic. I have been going to see Fay and Nilo for a facial every month for almost a year and a half, since about September/October 2014. I previously had acne, scarring, and hyper-pigmentation. I called around to several places in the DMV area, and no one else offered a better deal for the same services. I walked into my first appointment and was immediately welcomed by Fay. The environment was incredibly warm, and I felt relaxed even before the facial began. I got a facial with microdermabrasion, glycolic peel, and oxygen. It was heaven. They are very thorough, ensuring that they open the pores and do thorough extractions before applying any masks or other products. After the less fun parts of the facial (extractions and microderm), they provide a relaxing facial massage paired with masks and oils catered to your skin needs. Immediately after the first facial, my skin looked even, soft, and refreshed. I left feeling wonderful. I decided to come in monthly to address my skin issues. Fay and Nilo NEVER pressured me to come in more often than necessary or tried to sell me products that I didn't need. The next month, I decided to have Nilo thread my eyebrows, upper lip, and chin. My eyebrows looked incredible and lasted for a full 4-5 weeks. Previously, threading from other places lasted about 2-3 weeks. My skin is now so much better that I rarely wear foundation. I used to wear foundation daily. Because of my previous skin issues, I had been to many places for facials, and I can definitively say that facials at Georgetown Electrolysis are much higher standard than I've had anywhere else. Aside from the relaxation and the wonderful results, I go back to Georgetown Electrolysis because of Fay and Nilo. I have been coming to see Mrs. Shelia for about 1.5 years now for electrolysis. When I first started my treatments my chin was full of hair. I had ingrown hairs and many dark spots from many years of waxing, threading, and plucking. Mrs. Shelia told me it would take many years for the hair to be completely gone, but I will see results over time. When I first started I had to go every two weeks for 30 minutes sessions, and then after 6 months or so I was down to 20 minutes sessions. Now after 1.5 years I am down to once a month with my treatments lasting for less than 15 minutes. The hair that does grow back is very fine and very few. I no longer have dark marks, ingrown hairs, and my confidence is much higher now that I don't have to constantly hide the hair on my chin. I really wanted to like this place given the good reviews and convenience to my house. Granted this was my first time threading but she did exactly what I asked her NOT to do. I like a more natural brow since I have heavy brows to begin with and think it looks odd (not to mention maintenance nightmare) to go too thin. She asked me what I wanted, I told her, and then she proceeded to give me very thin brows with an odd arch in them anyway. She said it was because I had a section that was thinner so she tried to match it...seems to me she should have checked with me since it was directly at odds with what I asked for. It also stung a little but I figured that's just what it was. Until the next day when I had these small cuts/scabs appear under my brow! There were four or five little slices, now scabbed over, that looked similar to papercuts. Ouch. And looked terrible. Will not be returning. read more

Love love love this place!!! I was first introduced through a living social deal- laser for underarms. I bought five sessions in preparation for my wedding- Sheila did an amazing job every time. I felt safe, it was clean and I was doing something about my underarms that I was sick of shaving. With each of my visits, I noticed that there were so many people coming in and out for different services- eyebrow threading, electrolysis, massages,etc. I really needed to start getting facials in prep for my wedding so I thought why not! The best part? Couples facials! My husband (then Fiance) and I started visiting every month for our facials, the best part was that I was able to get my laser session then immediately go into my facial- no wait time and super convenient! They catered to our facial needs- I have combination skin with lot of scarring and discoloration so they used microdermabrasion and European facial to transform my skin. My only regret is that I didn't do it sooner. Our skin was glowing because of their work! After our wedding, I am now back to eat more facials because I've noticed how much better my face is when I get regular facials. None of this would have happened if it wasn't for the team that works here- they are so friendly and they truly care about your needs. They are informative and and provide appropriate services. I have had several services at Georgetown Rejuvenation Spa. Laser hair removal, IPL treatments for brown spots, and facials. Sheila, the owner, is thorough and careful. She is successfully removing my facial brown spots, leaving me with an even toned face! Sheila also is ridding me of my bothersome chin hair, I am very pleased and grateful with the results. (I do recommend buying packages online, it reduces the cost significantly, and one treatment is not enough). Moving on to facials, I have had Mina and Maryam, both excellent and thorough estheticians. I have had many facials and I can honestly say Mina and Maryam have given me the best facials. If you value your time, don't make an appointment here. Tried this new place when got a Groupon for a microdermabrasion and noticed it was right down the street from home. First time that I tried to make an appointment it was cancelled the day before because the technician had a family emergency, which is completely understandable. I rescheduled on the spot for an appointment three weeks later. When I called to confirm the second appointment (because I didn't receive a confirmation phone call) I was told I didn't have an appointment and that they can only make appointments three to four weeks in advance (which I had done). Despite my frustration, I made another appointment and when I called the day before to confirm I was told I wasn't on the books and was basically accused of fabricating an appointment. They then acted like they did me a favor by scheduling me four hours earlier than my original appointment. In the end, the appointment felt rushed and was not relaxing and I have had technicians spend more time at other salons. Even if this was the best service in the world for the best price (which it is not) I wouldn't go back. Summary, if you value your time and want a place that appears to value its customers, don't go here. read more

I got my eyebrows threaded and tinted by Massy (probably spelled that wrong sorry!) and I am SO PLEASED! They look amazing! I've always plucked mine myself and never gotten any sort of eyebrow treatment before and they were really uneven. I don't know how she did it but Massy completely resculpted them and was so precise with her attention to detail. The owner Sheila and her daughter were so sweet as well and greeted me and inspected my eyebrows thoroughly to make sure they were perfect. I've been to dozens of salons for facials in the three years I've been here and have only found two places worth visiting: Georgetown Elecrolysis & Skincare was the only place I'd return to for a regular facial. I'd also return to SKIN for a medical grade chemical peel but that's only because I do not have sensitive skin and the high-grade peels work well for me. This place is great solely because of their skill and ability to tailor facial services for your skin type. Because of my borderline leathery middle eastern skin, most facials are too light and useless.
