Not sure if it was the owner who took care of us but I asked him to surprise me, he handed me a scoop of cherry ice cream, it was honestly better than what I expected, creamy, perfect amount of sweetness, and generous with the cherry pieces. What a fun place! They make their own candy on site. You can watch the candy being made. They should be on "How it's Made". . My friend got ice cream and said it is fabulous! Carla and I enjoyed our visit to the Georgetown Vally Candy Company, today, Thursday, September 9, 2021. The gentleman working behind the counter serving ice cream and working to process our candy orders was extremely friendly and very helpful. Carla enjoyed the Palisade Peach and I enjoyed the three ice cream flavors, named in honor of a couple customers. Holy crap! Just realized I never reviewed this place although it is my #1 Ice cream shop in the mountains! I can't give it 5 stars unfortunately because the consistency with the waffle cones and ice cream quality is not always spot on ever since the old guy that started it has stopped being a regular at the shop- not sure if it was sold. I digress...the ice cream is really top quality home made type rich and creamy and the waffle cones have a great crispy crunch, unless you get a burned one. The store is a lot of fun to walk through as well. Prices are tourist prices...not cheap, but a good indulgence. read more

We went here on a girls trip and this place did NOT disappoint. We got caramel corn with nuts, chocolate toffee, a homemade moon pie, caramels, chocolate sticks with raspberry and cherry filling and everything was delicious. This place is a must stop if you are in Georgetown. The carmel corn is amazing! The ice cream is home made and quite good. There always seems to be a line, but the line moves pretty fast. I think we usually end up waiting 5 to 10 min even when the line is long. The store is cute and filled with little touristy things. read more

This is a real candy store that makes their candy onsite. I feel like this is rare. We came up for the winter festival and stopped in for a toy and some sweets and there was a worker making chocolate in the back of the store and huge vats for chocolate making. I'm so disappointed with the 2 pieces of toffee and 1 caramel I got today because the chocolate is weirdly slick, like it's "cocoa coating" rather than actual milk chocolate. I took one bite of each and threw them away. $5 in the trash. A very cool candy store with some old school items and some unique Carmel popcorn. They have a huge selection of candy, popcorn, fudge (regular and sugar free), rock candy, toffee, ice cream, etc. They make a lot of there own items here at there store and it's located in a small town which was pretty cool. The ice cream wasn't very creamy had very noticeable bits of ice in it, so it didn't have much flavor. 2. The server just perched the scoops of ice cream on top of the cone rather than pushing some into the cone, making it very unstable and difficult to eat. 3. They didn't have recycling :( read more

This is our 3rd time coming to Georgetown Valley Candy for a sweet treat in beautiful historical Georgetown. Today I got 2 of the chocolate Mules. For you Californians, the flavor of their chocolate here kinda reminds me of See's. So if you're a See's fan you'll like the chocolate here. Our candy was fresh and tasted delicious. We have never been disappointed with the candy, so that's why we come back when we are in this area of Colorado. *For you history buffs, you'll find several beautiful antique mirrors above the candy counters that used to grace the Denver Opera house back in the day and there are 2 gorgeous stained glass windows that used to be in an old funeral parlor, that shine down on the candy counter, definitely worth a visit. *They also have a nice selection of gifts and souvenirs! *Service: Genuinely Friendly with a great big smile! Fabulous ice cream - the butter brickle is perfection. There are plenty of candy selections, which is helpful with those who have food allergies. The free parking behind the building is a real plus when the town is busy. The staff was helpful, polite, and patient with our brood of five. Scott in particular deserves a gold star. I forgot my purse in the shop and didn't realize until I was home - a 45 minute drive away. He arranged to deliver it on his way home so I didn't have to drive back up in the rain.
