My husband and I tried this place after searching for local donut shops in our area. This had some great reviews so we decided to check it out. I'm glad we did. Upon first walking in and checking out the donuts behind the display counter, I was instantly impressed with how awesome and fresh they looked compared to some other places I'd tried in the past. I bought a dozen assorted donuts for $7. 2 each of Iced Jelly, Powdered Lemon, Chocolate Custard, Coconut Ring, Cinnamon Crumb and Chocolate Ring. I'm still currently working my way through them but the ones I've tried so far have been very tasty, light and fluffy...even the following day. The jelly donut was yummy, and the jelly inside was really good. I find sometimes that it can taste a bit artificial and unnatural but this had a really good fruity flavor. The lemon donut was extremely lemony too. All in all the donuts tasted very fresh, soft and they were a good size. The best donuts I've tried so far around the area. Its a donut shop. The prices are what you'd expect to pay for donut. They stay open relatively late. The donuts aren't exceptionally great or fresh, so i don't understand the 4 star rating. I used to LOVE Georgies. To the point that I would sing their praises to anyone who would listen if the topic of donuts came up. This was primarily because they had a killer unglazed, old fashioned cake donut. Unglazed isn't as easy to come by as one may think, so Georgie's became my go-to for my favorite treat. I went there for years. One day, I went in and asked for my usual. The person behind the counter stared at me like he had seen a ghost and acted like he had no idea what I was talking about. I described it using a glazed old fashioned as an example. "It's like this one, only without the icing," I said. He replied with "we don't make those anymore." WHAT?? You make them, you just put icing on them. The icing is the only difference between what I want and what you have and what you have had for years and years. I'm not the crazy one here, sir!! After reading that paragraph, maybe I am. Inexpensive and delicious donuts! I've gotten their donuts multiple times, and they're always consistently good. The cake donuts aren't too dense, and their glazed donuts are SO light and fluffy. Donut craving satisfied! Arrived around 10:30 AM on a Sunday morning and place was pretty crowded as all the tables were full. Line to order went by fast and I was able to be in and out within a few minutes. Ordered: Classic glaze, Glazed twist, and Chocolate bar. This is my absolute favorite donut shop in Orange county. Why go to a Krispie Cream when you have a place like this around the corner? My friend got me a donut here after I told him it was the best donut shop in town. Low and behold, my glazed donut and sugar twistie was absolutely sweet and delicious! Dont bother going to Georgies in the evenings because they dont have any donuts to sell you! The last two evenings I went they were sold out, with only two trays of stale donuts in their display case. They stay open 24 hours ,but I dont know why if they dont have any donuts to sell. Worst donut place I've ever been to. The lady who runs it is very rude, and they charge for using the ATM, plus it doesn't work half the time. It seems like this place is bumping but I'm not sure why. They have a lady that doesn't understand English (she looked Asian) and apparently likes to lie. I asked for a Bagel with cream cheese and strawberry jam. And she told me they don't do that. Meanwhile there is sign is behind her head that has that exact option! I say to her what is that sign behind your head? She turns and says "ummmmmm I never made that before" I say, can you? And she tells me "uhhhhhhh I can make one with raspberry". This donut shop is less than a mile from my house & I drive a good 15 mins to another shop now when we want some. On top of having little to no selection, the people that work there are RUDE. I had a terrible experience here not too long ago. The lady charged me & I gave her a $5 bill but as she handed me change I realized she charged me too much. I let her know (nicely, mind you) & she absolutely refused to admit it. I was appalled because we only ordered 2 donuts & a coffee, so it wasn't that hard to figure out. She changed the prices to make it seem like she added it up right. It was only a difference of 50 cents but it's the dishonesty I was upset about. If they're taking a small amount from each person that walks in & orders more than one thing, I wonder how much extra money they're making!! I have been going to Georgie's Donuts ever since I moved here three years ago. For some reason they jacked their prices up to $12/dozen when they were only $9/dozen not too long ago. I tried to use a coupon for a dozen fancy donuts, whatever they are because nobody has ever explained that to me, and they wouldn't accept it because I bought some lemon filled donuts. I was told that they were charging extra for them because they use lots of lemon filling, I only had about two or three bites with some lemon filling in it, while the coupon only says that they charge $.50 extra for bear claws, cinnamon rolls and apple fritters. The donuts are good but for now on I will go to another donut shop because I don't like being nitpicked on about charging extra for this donut or that donut when there's nothing in the store that says they charge extra for anything. Doing that is a great way to lose customers and if I have to drive 15 or 20 minutes to get donuts then I will do it. Also they don't have much of a selection there to begin with. Horrible customer service !!! I asked if they take debit and lady said yes. So my daughter was trying to order donut holes and the lady taking her order asked how many my daughter replied half dozen and the lady straight out said NO. So she said ok a dozen then. And she started barking and saying she would not sell her donuts holes if we are going to pay with debit. So I asked her again to clarify if they take debit or not. She said yes but I could not understand what on earth she was saying, she was babbling and saying "I charge you, I changed you" so I said that was fine if you need to charge me the "extra .50 cents" to use debit. Then she sad NO! not for one order!! So i told her we are going to but a couple donuts as it was me n my family. And she said NO!! Again ?! At this point I was shocked!!! And we all looked at each other thinking it was some sort of joke or something but then we realized Ummm.. Ok. You you don't want to sell us any donuts?? So the lady said for us to buy a dozen donuts then can use my debit. So at this point she pretty much ruined are night , for what ever reason she did not want to sell us anything and was the utter most rudest person ever. We did nothing wrong for her to act this way. I only stopped here a few times on my way to work around 11pm. They don't have a huge selection at this time of night. I understand if they have a lot at this time and don't sell them then it's a loss of profit. If they keep them til morning then they wouldn't be fresh.
