I so badly want to love my neighborhood shop but the last few times have been not great experiences. There was a fly in the case. Whatever syrups they're using for the iced coffees need to go-it tastes terrible...I've never had an iced coffee I didn't like till now. We also had a donut with black spots on the bottom...and the chocolate milk my son had was expired and didn't realize till we got home. I'm not sure if this place has changed ownership or what, but literally... LITERALLY every time my wife and I feel like treating ourselves to a donut or maple bar, the place is CLOSED. This has happened to us 3 or 4 times in the MIDDLE OF THE DAY where you'd assume a business would NORMALLY be open. The probability of going to the donut shop and seeing that they're closed EVERY TIME is pretty damn low, especially for a business that claims to be open 24/7. This place wasn't the greatest by any means, but it was very convenient because it was OPEN and it was open ALL. THE. TIME. But now it seems like the person who runs the place now feels like closing whenever they feel like. If you've changed your hours due to labor issues or if you just don't feel like being open 24/7 anymore, then why don't you try informing your customers so we don't waste our time? read more

Somehow they don't know how to make a powdered donut. When I've always seen them make it with the plain donut and put powder on it apparently the new owners don't make powdered donuts! I spoke to 2 teenagers (could be older not sure) and had the worst attitude and on top of that they didn't think I spoke Spanish so decided to talk shit. My husband and I followed Maps to this recommended location for a simple breakfast and I feel it's a good shop, but in shady shopping center (garbage all over lot, sketch characters). The first day we went, there was a man & woman working behind the counter. The man was friendly and asked for our order. He vocalized it to the woman who was working the hot meals and assembling. We were in & out so fast. The Bagel with cream cheese was perfectly toasted and perfect amount of cream cheese. My husband's ham & cheese croissant was also delectable! Location doesn't matter to us as long as the workers are friendly and hold food to a high standard. We figured this to be a hidden gem! Unfortunately, the second time we went, the service took a dive. There was a lone older woman who was sweet to greet us but I felt like she was overwhelmed & unsure. I pointed to the HOT board menu items and said "a number 10: bagel + cream cheese." My husband ordered his ham & cheese croissant again. Both orders, she looked to the menu board like she wasn't sure what we were talking about and double checked with us and we repeated the orders. As we were waiting, several people came in and she stopped making our items to get everyone else out. We figured she must be waiting on the toasted croissant & bagel so no harm in helping others. When we left and opened our meals, neither were toasted. :( My bagel had a thin, uneven spread of cream cheese and my husband said there was a mere sliver of ham in his sandwich. And what took so long if they weren't toasted? Why did everyone else get their items before us? Jalapeño ham cheese pastries have very little filling. I shop here 2-3 times a month. Ham and cheese croissants are disappointing. I ordered 2 on 2/20. One of them had no filling. The other had hardly any filling. It only had one slice of ham, a LITTLE piece of cheese, and the 3 smallest slices of jalapeño. It's hit and miss what donuts they have available as they are always in the process of making new ones, and depending on recent business. Next, you are reviewing the business, not the run down strip mall they don't control. This place has been around for over 30 years and hasn't changed ownership. Used to come here as a kid with my brother or friends and they are the nicest people you can meet and who remember you as well, which speaks volume about them as operators. If your local doughnut shop owners remember that you liked their cherry glazed and orange glazed doughnuts after not having gone in 10 years, that's pretty commendable. It's a small 24/7 shop that sells a great tasting product. In all the years of coming here I have never had a bad experience. And I have had my share of doughnuts from the high end glam of Newport Beach to the run down cockroach ridden places in Las Angeles. read more

Rose Donut Shop is definitely one of them! I came in to pick up some mid-afternoon sweets and was really surprised at how spacious and clean it was. As I approached the counter, I couldn't help but to notice a full display case. Usually at some of the other spots we frequent, there are only a few trays available for the choosing, and they aren't the freshest, either. Not here. The guy running the place (assuming it was the owner) was sugaring donuts upon arrival and greeted me with a big, "Hello!" Nice. I went with a half dozen cake donuts ranging from pink sprinkles to maple and they were all fabulous and really fresh. They weren't oily and had a nice crunch/crumble as if they were just made. Six runs you about $5 with tax and a full dozen is $8 and some change. Again, really reasonable. I'll for sure be back. I can't believe this place has been off my radar and I'm so close to it! read more

We love Rose Donut Shop! My husband grew up in the neighborhood so he's been going here for over 20 years. The owners are very sweet and the donuts are always the same, so good and fresh! We do not live close by, but we will make the drive because we are always disappointed when we go anywhere else. These donuts are DELICIOUS! And super fresh since they're open 24 hours. (Except Sunday, I believe they close at 1 on Sundays). I live right behind the donut shop and I can smell them wafting through the air very often. This is NOT an easy place for a weight-watcher to live!! haha But seriously, I love Rose Donuts. I tried their cronut(?) after I read some yelp reviews. That was very interesting. First of all it's delicious, and the texture is crispy and chewy at the same time. I had to leave for abroad country in a few days, and that interesting taste was stuck in my head or mouth, so I kept on thinking of going back to the donut shop and get it again.
