Salad bar and basic look of dining area
    Victoria M.

Came in tonight to check out this place that is close to our hotel. The atmosphere and decoration of the restaurant was amazing. The staff was attentive and very pleasant. They have a salad bar that looked wonderful, but we had salad for lunch, so unfortunately I cannot review. It was definitely used by other customers and I only saw smiles. We ordered gardenia pizza that was thin crust DELISH! No soggy bottoms here and the sun dried tomatoes were a perfect edition to the pie. They have a full bar and many choice of wine as well. We did order the French onion soup and it was worth every penny. Our final guests had the lasagna- stated it was delicious, but they were underwhelmed on the garlic toast- said it lacked flavor:/ and their zucchini was bland with little seasoning. The prices were about what we are seeing in Fairbanks, so I would say they are a little high/reasonable, but the portions make up for that little more paid. We did see the Alfredo pasta and the lady told her group it was perfect. I would go back and maybe try the pasta or another lovely pizza again!

Halibut floratine delicious! Pepperoni pizza was great. Service was spot on. Lovely place!

    Veal Marsala and beef ravioli.

Food- beef ravioli was on point! Very good red sauce and perfectly cooked ravioli. The veal Marsala was very bland and didn't look appetizing. Tasted more like veal in brown gravy. Decor was a bit all over the place and the atmosphere wasn't very cohesive. Service was friendly and adequate.

The service was quick, friendly and our server knew the menu items very well. The pizza was a hand-tossed style, a slight spicy sauce and meatballs. Overall, very good. We also got the one time trip to the salad bar, fresh, tasty and filling. They play classic cozy Italian music, which made the restaurant feel comfortable.

Yesterday after sightseeing in Fairbanks Joanna and I ate dinner at Geraldo's. Joanna had deep fried halibut which was cooked perfectly and was delicious. Her dinner came with mashed potatoes, roasted zucchini and garlic bread. I had a seafood medley: clams, shrimp and halibut. Dinner included a trip to the salad bar. We loved our salads. Our server, Elle, was gracious and attentive. Also, the music was excellent: Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Marvin Gaye and Tammy Tyrell; pleasant and relaxing background music, not blaring.

Halibut Florentine. Good flavor! Comes with salad bar also!

Food was very good! Overall good value. Our server was very good and attentive. Ambience was ok, but wouldn't keep me from coming back.

I hope you like Garlic because that's all you'll taste

The service and ambiance were fantastic; however, the pizza was the worst I've ever had. The restaurant was clean, decorated tastefully in an appropriate theme, and the server and hostess were fantastic. My son and I really wanted to like Geraldo's. We ordered a Margarita Pizza which had so much garlic that we couldn't taste any other ingredients. There wasn't any sauce on the pizza and there was an imperceptible amount of cheese. My son and I both commented to one another that we felt like we were eating bread heavily laced with garlic. We didn't finish the food, and they didn't ask how it was. We may try something other than pizza in the future, but we'll try other restaurants first.

Make sure you call a few days ahead to make reservations! They are very busy every day. Wait time is kinda long since they are super busy. We wanted to order cream brûlée but they run out, so we had Panna cotta instead! Panna cotta is super creamy and delicious, if you like milky flavor, u must try this!!

We had a large party and tried a lot of things on the menu. I had the vegetable lasagna and it was delicious but not warmed up fully so that would be something to improve in the future. My friends had the oysters and calamari and liked them. A couple of people had the salmon and really liked the sauce that came with it. The special pasta with manila clams was pretty good too. Services great, we were able to flag someone down wherever we needed it. Highly recommend the warm bread with butter, it was delicious and we couldn't get enough! Espresso martini was okay, a bit watered it seemed.

When we arrived, we found out that you'd need a reservation to dine in the main dining hall, so we ended up going to the Saloon side where we had to find our own seats. We sat near the pool table, and the chairs were super unstable. The staff were fine but clearly seemed busy and understaffed. It took a long time for them to bring us water and take our order. I tried flagging the waitress 2-3 times when she was passing by and felt very ignored especially as I've made eye contact with her a few times. We ended up ordering the fried seafood combo and the seafood chowder, and it ended up taking at least 20min to come out (even the soup). The dishes were all very salty and definitely needed a lot of water to go with the food. Overall, definitely not a place to go before a flight since you might not be able to get in and out very quickly, and the food was really just alright for the price. Perhaps the main dining room experience would be better but I still wouldn't recommend it given the food quality and service.

I asked her which she preferred between 2 items and instead of giving me her opinion, she told me we're going with the 1st one because I said it 1st. She also seemed annoyed when she came to give me the hot sauce I asked for. The other server was cleaning the table next to me and asked me if I wanted the hot sauce before she put it away. I actually thought my server was going to grab it from that table to give to me, thought that'd be more efficient, but I guess she needed to walk away and do other things 1st before bringing me hot sauce. -C. F. S.: the gravy is good! One of the better ones I've had in quite a bit. The chicken fried steak was crunchy even though it was drenched in sauce. Delicious! I'm surprised that a bread item (was really hoping for a biscuit) didn't come with this dish for being almost $30. - Cajun salmon Benedict: delicious! I thought the salmon was overcooked but it was perfect! Hollandaise sauce was delicious. Not sure how it's Cajun though. The marinated tomatoes were tasty too! I would eat them on their own! Yum!

The atmosphere was chill, our server was patient, and the food....was seriously fantastic. It is one thing to have food that looks good, but when it tastes even better than it looks - that's huge! I ordered the shrimp and grits and it was the best I've ever had. Perfectly flavored and just enough spice. The honey cornbread on the side was the perfect compliment. I didn't think I'd be able to finish the entire meal but I made it happen because it was that good. My friend ordered the Dunker sandwich and it was equally delicious. The au jus was perfectly flavored and the consistency was spot on. I actually ate her leftovers for dinner, and if the leftovers were delicious, you can only imagine how it was freshly served. Very happy we came in and highly recommend!

We've been in a hotel for a few weeks and tried the 'normal' local restaurants but we were saving this one and a few others. Took a chance to show up with no reservation, but they were gracious and easily found a table to sit us in 1 minute flat. LOVED the GENEROUS bucket of REAL butter packets. My husband and I have a joke about the crime of a nice restaurant serving fake oil based butter. Not here. Good sign #1. Waitress arrived and nice, we got glasses of wine (extensive menu) and I ordered my Escargot right away. No question I was shocked to think I would find my European delicacy here! Yup! Arrived quite quickly with the wine, some nice slices of the Ciabatta bread they also brought for the table. YUMM-O. Just like I remember from Germany. Mains: Lobster (MP) for me and the Foxy cut of the Prime Rib for hubby. Baked Potato and the Cheesy potatoes. All was delicious! And the HUGE salad bar was lovely and included. Now, we opted on dessert to go. Crème Brûlée and Key Lime Cheesecake. Current note, Brûlée tasteless but Key Lime delightful. End. Our bill was $240. My 16-20 oz. Australian Lobster Tail cost $135. Yup, MP [smh]. Sad part, I got two apparently to make the ounces, and it was meaty, but pretty dry and not much flavor, not sweet. However, I do not recall ever having Australian lobster....so buyer beware all around on that one. BUT, we had a lovely night and look forward to trying other items, and that salad bar alone!!! Check this establishment out if you haven't already!!! P.S. Can't believe we forgot to take pics. Sorry.

We came in after a recommendation from our tour director who knew we liked whiskey and that the Library had a peated whiskey brewed by a distiller from another city we had just been in. We had our shot of peated whiskey as promised and dug it. We were seated at the bar as the place was packed and we didn't have a reservation. We were happy to have the spot as well as to see not only did they have numerous vegetarian options, but they were all clearly labeled on their menu...so food options for us was not a token afterthought and we felt welcome! Unfortunately, I guess because it was so busy, the first two items we ordered took a looooong time to get to us and both were overcooked, like maybe the kitchen forgot they were in process which would explain the delay as well. We tried the Tempura Brussels Sprouts...a special menu item...overcooked...the tempura was a dark brown (tempura batter when cooked properly is a nice light golden brown with a nice light texture and taste to it) and the brussels on the inside were long void of any desirable texture. We also got the regular menu offered Caramelized Onion & Mushroom Flatbread. This was also overdone...gone was any chewiness in the crust leaving us with nothing but hard crunches and a pretty overall rich-tasting dish on top. Normally that would have been enough food for us, but we were only in town for one night and really wanted to try the cheese board...so we did and this was the saving grace of the meal. Served with cheeses, moosetard ground mustard, seasonal organic jam, house pickles, dried fruit, crackers, house baked italian crostini, house olives, this was plenty of food for us, looked really good, and we realized we could have just ordered this and we would have been indulgently full. There are many more vegetarian options in all of the menu categories to choose from, especially the "shareables" section, so vegetarians - show up and you will be well taken care of. We had a great time, also talking with the bartender! If we were ever in Fairbanks again, we'd definitely come back and try more.
