Robert even called to let me know that I should address an issue with my tire for safety purposes. I asked if they could do a paint job on some unrelated car scratches out of pocket, and they agreed, and worked with me on the pricing. They reach out via text and phone and my car is ending up ready a full week ahead of time - I am just blown away by their professionalism and kindness. This place is janky asf. Stay far away from this place. My car went in for a side swipe accident and came back to me with a broken windshield, automatic headlights that don't work at all anymore. And a door seal that was left in the trunk in the original VW box and not placed on the vehicle. They refused to work on the headlights. Even though they were the ones that spliced into the wiring trying to fix whatever they did. It took over a month to get the windshield done. I had to resort to calling the regional manager to get any information at all about even getting it done. It took a month and a half to even get door seal taken care of. If you want your auto body work to be fumbled like the browns on game day. Then go ahead drop your car off here. read more

My car door was damaged recently while getting it inspected, and their insurance company sent me to Gerber. The mediocre Yelp rating was a bit concerning, but I wanted to talk to them. The shop office was very clean, and there were multiple certificates on the wall from various auto dealers (including my car brand). The people were very nice, especially Gus and AJ. AJ gave a fast estimate, told me how long the repair would take, and that I wouldn't be able to tell it was ever damaged. Once my car went in the shop, I was updated almost daily with the progress. So my review of Gerber comes a bit late. After a minor collision with someone (who was at fault) their insurance recommended Gerber. From the get-go, a few things fell through customer-service related. But this is probably the most lasting reminder of their poor service. As you can see on the pic, they replaced the vehicle's right headlamp, since that is the one that suffered damage. But did not replace the other. Now, I get that technically they may not have had to do it, but at least give me the option of paying for the other knowing how terrible it would look. This is now a daily reminder to me, and terrible publicity for them. Now, to get this done on my own, it is a bit more $$ than if they would've done it at the time and I just don't have the time. read more

Run don't walk from Gerber on Capital Blvd, Raleigh, NC. The worst customer service/management I have encounter in a loooong time (and I'm from New York City!) They ended my job sooner than expected - which is great - but expected me to shift my work schedule around in less than 8hours notice to get my car or I would be charged for an extra day on my rental car. I asked if I could pick my car up the following day, due to a work commitment I would now have to ask my employer if I could alter (which would jeopardize my full-time job), I was told, "we are legally obligated to release your car when it is finished." When I asked what law required them to do that, I was transferred immediately to a voicemail. When I called back up, I was hung up on. When I called back again, I asked to speak to a manager and was told about my being hung up on, I was told, "What would you like me to do? Fire her?" Unreal. Life is too short to deal with people like this. Again, run away as fast as possible from this location. read more

I was very disappointed with the communication with this place. I had damage to the hood and roof of my Mini Cooper due to mischievous kids in the neighborhood. I dropped by to get an estimate, I met with Michael Gittoes to due the estimate. We went over the car and within 20 minutes he gave me an estimate and went over it with me, he proceeded to inform me that my insurance company (State Farm) was easy to work with that any additional repairs would be covered. He told me to go ahead and schedule and appointment to drop it off to get repairs done as they were getting booked up, so I did. Two weeks later I dropped my car off to get repaired. i waited a week and still no answer I even kept checking the carwise app and it stated that it was getting repaired. So the end of the week I called Mike to find out the status as I did not hear anything, and he apologized and said that the car was in the process of getting repaired and that he had a lot of other customers and that is why he did not get back to me. So I waited another week, thinking my car was getting repaired, I called back to Mike (again I did not hear from him), and he informed me that there is a possibility that the car was going to get totaled because of the amount of repair needed. Well I called my insurance company to find out if that was the case and they said that the second estimate that Gerber gave was under the amount by $400, so my insurance called Gerber and they told them that there was $800 of hidden charges that was not on the estimate, that seems fishy to me. I will never go back as there is no communication and obviously have no idea how much things cost to repair. read more

Would not recommend this shop. Had a very small fender bender repair and they refused to fix my vehicle, due to "prior faulty damage" from a repair done 5 years ago. Ok, fine. That wasn't my issue, After multiple phone calls and emails with the shop I was ultimately instructed to pick up my vehicle. But never received a call that it was ready. After another email I was told I had until noon on a Saturday to pick up my vehicle which didn't work for me because I was at work. Arrived 7:30 Monday morning When I arrived to get my car there was damages to my windshield and right fender that they could not explain. So, Another appt was set up to fix those repairs. I Arrived at the scheduled time and still waited over an hour for enterprise to pick me up as the general manager had not organized the rental car service as promised. I had to ask several questions, staff was dismissive and treated me very second hand. Don't want to say race played a factor but it totally seemed that way. I was quite and just let them handle this on their end. But this has been The Worst repair experience with a collision center I've ever had in my life.  The Mgmt team was not helpful but Charlotte did do her best to take ownership of the issue which I greatly appreciated. I do not recommend this location. Countless wasted time and no regard for the inconvenience experienced. read more

My experience was very similar to Kevin M. I was begged by an employee to lie on a survey given by my insurance company after they had not satisfactorily completed work on my vehicle. After visiting multiple times, and further damages done to my car by this company, I contacted my insurance company to make them aware of their shoddy practices. My car was taken there a final time before I refused to return after I found that the repaired areas of my vehicle are MISSING PARTS! I feel like this is retaliatory on their part after I gave an HONEST review of their facility and my dissatisfaction. I fully intend on following up with the BBB and attorney general on this experience. I have given this shop numerous opportunities to fix my vehicle properly and to their supposed high standards, and instead they have only jeopardized my family's safety by cutting corners. I had some paint damage around my headlights and was told by the person doing the estimate that they would need to replace my bumper (the headlights sit on the bumper) because they "did not feel comfortable just repainting it." To be perfectly honest if I could give lower than one star I would. I have been debating if I should leave a review for this joke of a body shop because I don't want to waste anymore of my time on them, but I thought if I can help someone else out by warning them about this place. My experience with this establishment was so terrible I honestly don't know where to start. Here are the positives: The front office staff is very nice and engaging. The two young women who keep things running smoothly do a very good job of it. However, it's simply amazing how both the management and the auto body techs are so incompetent at what they do. My wife's new car was scratched by someone and it required some very light paint work and my insurance company asked me to go to this body shop. The scratch was a very easy fix to do. Well my at first the car was not ready on schedule, which is not a big deal to me. However, I was simply blow away by the way the car was returned to me. First, the paint work was terrible! They used a fast drying clear coat that obviously got away from the tech because it looked terrible and they ended up painting a whole side of a car to try to blend it. The inside of my car was covered in compound (especially the carpet and leather seats). The headliner was also covered in black grease finger prints!!! When I took the car back they all agreed that the car should have never been returned to me in such condition. At the time the estimator told me that insurance companies don't pay much so sometimes they have to cut corners. So then they had attempt number two and unfortunately the results were not any better at all. Each time the car was returned to me in worse condition. They kept damaging my car in different and new ways. I wanted to take my car to another body shop to fix the issues, but my insurance company kept insisting me to take it back there. Well after the third failed attempt, the gerber area managers got involved and at that point I finally thought we would get the issues resolved. When I met with the manager he told me he would call me the very next day to coordinate everything. Well TWO WEEKS go by and I have yet to hear from him. When I do hear from him I just end up getting handed back off to the original estimator. Well unfortunately attempt number four to fix everything THEY screwed up ended up as a total failure as well. There were numerous imperfections in their paint work and my interior ended up being damaged further. At that point I said enough is enough and sold traded in the car. What really upsets me is I had to take a loss of several thousand dollars due to their mistakes!!! I loved my 2012 and we planned on keeping that car for a very long time, but they took a new car and quickly turned it into a POS because of their lack of skill and attention to details. Also, at no point did management ever follow up with me or follow through with their promises. According to the enterprise rent a car manager (which this shop uses and is located near by) what I experienced is pretty normal. I am not one to complain just for rude service, but when the service actually jeopardizes my safety, I need to speak up. I had my car towed to this shop per my insurance after a collision because the alignment was so out of whack, I had to turn the steering wheel 45 degrees to the left to drive straight. Didn't seem safe to drive. They completed service and I returned my rental before heading there to pick up my car (after about 2 weeks). I paid my deductible and observed the body work had been completed. I drove away, and as soon as I got on the road, I noticed the steering was exactly as it was after the accident, and three warning lights flashed on my dash. I returned immediately to Gerber and asked Brett if he test drove the car. He had. I asked him how he did NOT notice the steering or the warning lights. He played dumb. I asked him to drive with me and I demonstrated the problems. Luckily, I was able to walk back to Enterprise and reclaim my rental car. There is no way they checked the alignment on this car before sending me home in it. Had I driven it in its state, I would have seriously damaged the car more or worse. Today, I picked up the car for the second time. Brett brought me the alignment report. A part was damaged and had to be replaced. He made a copy of the report and gave it to me. It was not legible, and I asked him to explain. He could not. He tried to tell me the pre-printed ranges for adequate alignment was the actual "before" data. I suggested we reference the color original, and I could clearly see data on the "after" but no data on the "before". The data could not be read on the copy. I asked for a pen to transcribe the data, and I showed Brett the difference. It is extremely dangerous to have someone in car repair who cannot even read an alignment report. And why was a car, towed due to alignment issues, never tested for alignment after a collision? I was lied to and misled twice. UPDATE: I got a call from the branch manager, Richard Hamilton. I was reassured that he got involved and confirmed all is well with my car, and he was concerned about my experience. I totally agree with the other person who said they would rate less than a one and believe the first person must have been paid to post. It is fine to have a friendly greeting staff but at the end of the day I want my vehicle fixed, not a chat. I will say I am not sure if this company works with the insurance company and that is why things are the way they are. Maybe the insurance company pushes them to take short cuts but if the other person had a bad experience and I am going down the same path then something is not right. I was in a car accident in which a guy ran a red light and hit my driver side tire. I drive an SUV and was hit by a car. Well while it may not look like significant damage a vehicle being hit at 40 miles an hour can cause unseen damage, which is my problem. I took my vehicle in and was told that my drive shaft was messed up. Okay fast forward a week and I pick up my vehicle, only to return it because there was a popping sound that I later found out was a ball joint. Well this was repaired, but all of the time I am being told things like well it was repaired because the accident was on that side and please keep in mind you have some where on the vehicle. I think that this kept being pushed because I do drive and older vehicle but it my eyes I think my vehicle should be fixed back to the condition it was before the accident. You are not going to make me believe that my vehicle is doing something on the exact same size it was hit on only because it has wear. I am now taking my vehicle to the dealership, explaining to them what happened, showing the estimate of what was supposedly done, and going from there. I have been left with a feeling that I have been hoodwinked. I was not shown what the damage was before hand so at the end of the day I do not know if anything has really been fixed. I'm not sure if it is because I am female or if this is another company that just tries to get over. Please listen to my warning....take your vehicle to the dealership for repair, especially if this is related to an insurance claim. Something is just not right. He kept me informed on the repairs and when it would be ready and it was ready when promised. He guided me through the whole process when I called and he also made me aware that I might be eligible for a rental car. Richard was very friendly, straight forward, honest and efficient.
