So, I went here, not really feeling like having a big appetite so I got their special Spinach & Endive salad. The salad was very bitter and not at all refreshing like a salad should be. It felt like it was all mixed up with the endive, spinach, pistachios, strawberries, onions, Parmesan cheese and the dressing was some bitter lemon vinaigrette. I do not recommend it to anyone. And I only ate the strawberries after a couple of bites (it wasn't a big meal) and then told the waitress if I could send it back because I did not like it. She told me that she would take it off the bill. Bill comes. She charged us for the salad. So I approached her and asked if she could take it off, the reason why she wouldn't comp it was because I had eaten half of it and the strawberries and the pistachios. Ok. Big lie. But whatever. I understand it's Friday night so then I asked if she could discount the salad because it was not worth $10. So she takes the check runs off to a door in the corner slamming the door behind her and stays there for a while. Then she comes out saying that she can't take it off her manager isn't even there she had to text him. Ok. Another lie. You really think you're good at bluffing lady? anyways my friends and I caught her the entire time mouthing me off and calling me a "bitch" which was amusing even after I thanked her for her terrible service and attempts to weasel her way out of correcting the check. Then she kept on insisting to make me a salad to go and I honestly kept telling her no. I wasn't taking anything else after that scene. Even after we tipped her 18% she was not very pleasant, but I believe in giving the benefit of the doubt since it was a Friday night. But doesn't excuse her from being mean just because I did not like a salad and she questioned why I didn't like it as if she was the manager herself, making my friends at the table uncomfortable. This location has been through few different restaurants and concepts. I think this time has fell in the right hands. Hospitality is what you notice right away, great service, from the bartenders and Gerry himself walking around and making sure everything is to the liking. Really enjoyed my first visit here. Both food and service were excellent. We had the seafood chowder, steak quesadilla, Mac and cheese and Shepard's pie. All of the dishes were really well done especially the shepherds pie. They have a light selection of craft beers and their few specialty taps were worth trying. I had a local IPA from Kane that I don't see in too many places . We will be back and bring family and friends. I hope this restaurant makes it as it is far better than the 2 prior in the same location. read more

We had our dinner at a table in the bar area. Outstanding service by our waiter and busboy. My Caesar salad lettuce wasn't crunchy...it was wilted. The pretzel appetizer was yummy. Chicken fingers appetizer very good. The hamburger came out minus lettuce and tomato. When we asked for lettuce and tomato for the hamburger, the kitchen sent us a tiny piece of lettuce and a tiny tomato slice....which was not acceptable. I would like to reiterate that our waiter was excellent as was the busboy....very impressive! We will be back. Hoping that they improve their food. read more

Love this place!!! Been there for a fun night out, a great meal, live music and birthday parties. Recently hosted my husbands 40th birthday there. Came to see the band that was scheduled to play that night, so we decided to arrive early for dinner. So how was it you ask? Well, the BAND was great. Now, if the steak wasn't so fatty, if the ribs were more eatable, if the Cabernet wasn't served in a Chardonnay glass or, if the waitress was a bit more attentive & offered to refill the drinks without being asked, or inquired if we wanted dessert before simply dropping off the bill, then maybe this review would be more complimentary. I used to really love this place and still do. But they have never followed any Covid protocols. They pack their bar well over capacity limit to the point it feels like its a normal holiday weekend. I wish they monitored their capacity level better. It might be better if they started to ID as I've heard from several people they let people under 21 in including high schoolers. The bar gets so busy I guess it can be hard for them to ID everyone, Idk. To be honest though I'm a little shocked they haven't been closed down or fined for either for the under age drinking or the lack of Covid capacity monitoring or both. read more

What a great decision to come here, the food was all great (especially the buffalo wings), the beers were cold and the place is beautiful. Maybe I caught them on an off day, but seriously, one of the worst places I've visited in a long time. As I looked around, I noticed the little things that scream "No one is paying attention to cleanliness here!" I declined to order, but my wife and daughter did. The offerings were indicative of a kitchen that isn't proud of their food and just going through the motions. Uninspiring and poorly executed dishes with low quality ingredients. Long long long overdue review. Not only is this a great neighborhood joint, but overall it's an amazing restaurant and bar. The owner sets the tone. Gerry remembers all of his customers and makes you feel welcome immediately. This carries over to the staff. I'm always happy when George is working. He is friendly, makes the best margaritas and goes out of his way to make you feel welcome. Deidre is amazing and always has a warm smile. The food is great. Try the buffalo wings and the Cobb salad. My favs. My boyfriends loves the pepperoni and onion pizza. The live music is awesome and there are great specials for girls night! I can't say enough good things about this place! read more

I recently visited Gerry's Place with my husband, his nephew and his father. We walked into a nearly empty restaurant at 6:30 on a Saturday night, which was already a bad sign. The decor is woodsy/pub-like and is actually very nice. I ordered the BLTA on a multi-grain roll with French fries. The sandwich was ok and was nothing I couldn't make myself. The fries were actually very good and tasted like they were freshly cut with a little bit of sea salt sprinkled on top. My husband ordered steak, which came out drenched in steak sauce. He said the meat wasn't good quality and he wouldn't order it again. His nephew got chicken fingers and barely ate them because they were so tough. They were also pink inside, indicating that they might have been undercooked. My husband's father had a burger, which he seemed to enjoy. Our server was pleasant, but I don't think I'll be returning. Too many missteps with the food for me to give this restaurant another chance. read more

First impression was very positive. This location has been a revolving door of different restaurants. So I had some concerns when I came here for dinner. When I arrived, I seated myself at the bar. I was greeted right away by all the bartenders and felt very welcome. The restaurant serves American and Irish food. I started with an appetizer of garlic Parmesan wings. The wings came out fairly quickly and smelled great. They were plump and meaty and had a very nice flavor. I am very critical with the way wings should taste. I very happy to report that their wings are awesome. For my main course I ordered their Fish and Chips with well done fries. I have ordered this dish many times before at other restaurants and know exactly how it should look and taste. Many places don't use fresh fish or don't batter the fish properly and it comes out very soggy. But Gerrys Place hit a home run with this dish. The Cod was so fresh and moist and the batter was nice and crispy. The part that set the dish over the top was the homemade tartar sauce. It took the fish to the next level. I was pretty full after my meal but managed to save a little room for dessert. I had their caramel apple pie a la mode. It's was just okay. A little too much allspice and cinnamon for my taste. Overall I really had a great meal here and I hope they stick around for a long time. read more

Decent experience overall but very disappointed at how old the chicken tasted in the wing special. $5 for 4 wings vs $10.95 normally for 8 wings. Hopefully you get the fresh stuff for the regular wing orders. I would imagine the tacos in the special would follow the same line of aging. read more

Very good food and a nice outdoor area but unfortunately service was lacking. Our party of two arrived and we were told to seat ourselves and were offered drinks. It took almost 30 minutes to get our drinks and close to an hour for appetizers. There was a large group of men outside that our server Dave was also taking care of that we watched bring drinks every 10 minutes and over the course of 2 hours he visited us maybe 3 times and once we had to go inside to request service. We understand that saturday's can be tough and especially during Covid but there was almost no one in the restaurant when we arrived and we felt completely ignored while the tables around us were served. Our server repeatedly forgot about us and we sat without drinks or food several times. Luckily when we eventually got our food and drinks they were good. Unfortunately the loud large group was more interesting to the server probably because of the large tip potential. read more

We have been there for dinner only once but it was very good. Kirsten the manager is excellent. Food was delicious and staff was great. We booked the private room they have for my daughters baptism party and it was great. Clean, food was delicious, staff was attentive but not overbearing. We never felt rushed at all and really enjoyed the whole day. As stated, Kirsten was a pleasure to deal with and we will most likely be back for another party. Highly recommend. read more
