I also tried to get the dealer and was given an appointment date for 2 weeks later. After calling around to a few chain auto places, I spoke with 2 individuals at this Firestone location. They informed me that they are very busy that Saturday but if I can bring my car in, they can take a look at the battery. I did not get around to bringing my car in on that Saturday but called Firestone again to see if I can get an appointment for Sunday morning. I was very fortunate that they have a lot for 11:00 am Sunday morning. Took my car in at around 10:45 Sunday morning and explained to Luis (who was helping me) the issue I have been experiencing. He said it would take about one to one and a half hours to change the battery (if it needed to be replaced), My wife picked me up and we left the Firestone store to run some other errands. I got a call from Firestone at around 11:30 and Luis informed me that my battery is fine. They are not sure why I am having problems with starting but did notice a loose connection to the battery and have tightened this for me. Went back to Firestone to pick up my car and Luis told me to run the car for a bit to recharge the battery. And if I continue to have problems, I can bring it back for further investigation. No charge since checking battery is free at Firestone. My whole experience with Luis and the team there was excellent. No hassle and very honest and easy to deal with. They were upfront with me on everything - unlike most of my previous experience at other auto places. Kudos to Luis - great job and an exemplary employee for that location.

Within a minute, they "revised" their story and said it was actually the rear wiper that supposedly needed replacing -- and suddenly I would pass after all. The whole situation reeked of either incompetence or dishonesty. Between the upselling scare tactics, the contradictions, and the clear lack of integrity, I will never come back here and I strongly recommend others steer clear. There are plenty of honest shops out there that won't try to take advantage of you -- this is not one of them.

The third (Delaware Ave) replaced the tire, but failed to inform me that having 3 of one kind and 1 of another would cause my car's sensors to go crazy. In fact, when I went back to them with a malfunctioning ABS sensor they were ready to replace it for several hundred dollars. Well, I stopped at AutoZone and they said 3 out of 4 of my wheel speed sensors were the issue. So... AutoZone just saved me from wasting my money at Mavis. Now I'll be replacing two tires, because what Mavis should have said, IF THEY GAVE A DAMN, is that I should have two of the SAME TIRES on the SAME AXLE. But they didn't, because then they would have had to provide two tires for free, since they destroyed one. I'm done with them.

He virtually immediately started to troubleshoot the problem, which he linked very quickly to a dysfunctional key. He corrected some of the computer error signs and got us back on the road. In gratitude, I offered him money, after he said there was no charge. He refused to accept the money. The service was absolutely courteous, efficient and professional. They deserve to be acknowledged for that. They got me on the road within 2.5 hours from breaking down on a Saturday afternoon, where I feared i would be stuck in town through the weekend. I was told they could get me in as early as Monday for the installation. I scheduled the appointment for Wednesday just to be safe. Wednesday comes, I drop off the car. At this time, I asked that they please let know if the car is due for any other services (e.g. oil change) and to please be sure not to pitch the summer tires. As soon as I get home, they call me to say that the tires never came in. Unbelievable! No one bothered to check prior to my appointment? Or at the very least when I came to drop off? Instead of rescheduling, they offer to give me different, pricier tires but honor the price of the ones I had picked out. When I asked for details about the new tires I would be receiving, the sales associate just kept saying "Blizzak" over and over again. She never mentioned that they were Bridgestone tires or that the specific version I'd be receiving would be the DM-V2, despite my countless requests for more details. Regardless, I agreed to accept the last minute request to go with different tires. Hours go by... they call me again asking if they can keep the car overnight because now THESE tires still haven't come in yet. So the tires I picked out never came in and then they offered me tires that they also didn't have in?! To make up for the inconvenience, they offered me a free oil change. The sales associated asks, "Are you due for an oil change?" to which I replied "You tell me!!!" My husband had had all of his previous car maintenance done here, which is why I had already asked that they let me know if he needed an oil change, but they clearly didn't check or listen. Finally, the next day rolls around and it's noon and I still haven't heard from them. When I call, I get a voicemail, so I leave a message. They call me back a few minutes later and say "your car is ready!!" No acknowledgment that it took ME calling THEM to find out the car was done. Who knows how long I would've been left waiting if I hadn't called to check in. Finally, the nail in the coffin, was when I went to pick up the car. I paid, checked out, got in the car to leave when I noticed... the summer tires were nowhere to be found. They told me they'd bag them and throw them in the trunk, but the trunk was empty. Fifteen minutes later they found them and loaded them in, but I easily could've made it all the way home before I noticed had I not been vigilant to check their work. Also I love how, as I was waiting for them to load my tires into the car, the sales associate tried to make it better by gushing about what a great deal I got on the Blizzak tires... according to the receipt it was a total savings of $31. Not even close to compensating for my troubles. This place is chaotic and unprofessional. My advice -- take your business elsewhere.

I stripped the wheel weights off, cleaned the inside of the rims and deflated the tires for them. I made the deal and paid a deposit Monday Oct. 28th. Dropped off the wheels Oct. 29th and was told they might be done by 4 pm Oct 30th. They had to get the tires from their Lockport store. I called them at 4 pm Oct. 30th to check status. Not done. Called back Thursday Oct 31st. I was told they have to get the tires from the Lockport store (???) and they will be done Friday Nov 1st in the morning. I called back at 12:30 Nov 1st to check status. They are working on them right now. At 2:30 they are finally done. I get them...take them home and mount them. I looked at the date codes just out of curiosity. Normally 4 tires would have matching or close dates codes. 2 tires matched (2124) 1 tire is (3323) 1 tire is (4623). So 2 tires have been sitting for 1 year and 2 tire were made this year 2024. No apologies, no discount for my inconvenience. I will never ever do business again nor trust Tread City Tires.

After I brought the tires in, they offered only $10 per tire, then raised it to just $12.50 per tire. That is $50 total for four good-condition EV winter tires that originally cost around $1,000. The offer was ridiculously low and felt like a complete waste of my time. I would not recommend bringing used tires here unless you are ready to be lowballed.
