Had the lemongrass chicken banh mi sandwich, which was very good. The chicken was well seasoned and the veggies were fresh. The sauce was a little spicy for my taste. The bread was more soft hoagie than French baguette. Different than I'm use to but still extremely tasty. Would definitely order again. Also decently priced for the amount.
The cubano was DELICIOUS!! I got it with fries and a side of ranch. I have to say, the ranch was one of my favorite parts, it was SO good. I also got the bloody mary, which was a bit spicy for my taste. The service was super friendly too!
My husband and I visited Get Real this weekend because he was dying to try the Korean Reuben for the Blackstone Reuben contest. He ordered that sandwich and I ordered the grilled cheese, which I had had before and loved. Additionally, we ordered pecorino fries to share. I tried to order a Diet Coke or Pepsi to cure my killer caffeine headache, but the only non-alcoholic drinks available were La Croix, Sprite, or Root Beer. Our fries came out first. They were decent, but a little starchy for my taste. I did love the spicy aoili sauce. My husband ended up LOVING his sandwich. He asked me later "do you think we will ever get a Get Real out west?" Clear to see it stayed on his mind. However, my grilled cheese tasted like...nothing. For having three types of cheeses, it was incredibly bland. The whole grain honey mustard was nowhere to be found, and the pickles I added were still just cucumbers. I was incredibly disappointed. I also ordered the sweet potato soup on the side, which did not impress me. So, kind of a mixed bag here. I will definitely be back, but I will not get the grilled cheese again.
Every time I come back I love it more! So many great vegetarian options. Crunchy fries. Tasty sides. Delish cocktails. My go to is the carrot sandwich or the soups. The staff working is always very friendly!
This is always a 10/10 every time we come! Be prepared to wait just a little longer if you come at a busy time like during weekend brunch or dinner, but it's so worth it! We've tried so many different things here, menu sandwiches, specials, fries, poutine, you can't go wrong with whatever sounds good to you at that time. Try something different the next time! Included today are the cubano sandwich and Bloody Mary, my husband gets the Cubano almost every time because it's that good. I got the smoked pulled pork topped with a pickle, bbq, and willowy, crispy fried onions. There's always been plenty of seating, even when they're busy. You can get a hot sauce to go if you happen to fall in love with it like we did!
This spot has very quickly become a lunch break favorite. Whether I'm craving a delicious, juicy sandwich or keeping it lighter with the Brussel sprouts they don't miss. My personal favorite sandwich would have to be the smoked fried chicken. If you get that, grab some extra tissues because it's fairly juicy and saucy! You will definitely get your fill with that one. This time around, I got the smoked pulled pork. Being from Texas and used to the best (fight me) I always approach with caution. I was disappointed with this sandwich. The slaw added a good different texture and there wasn't an attempt to overcompensate with the sauce. It was a decent sandwich all in all. I've had no issues with service here, always friendly and helpful. If you're going to be making this place a regular, you should grab yourself a loyalty card and work your way up to a freebie!
We had heard great things about Get Real Sandwiches, so we decided to visit it with our Supper Club group. It was quite enjoyable and I'd recommend it for a quick lunch spot or casual dinner. This is a laid back place, so when you walk in, the counter at the front is where you place your order, and then head to your table and wait to hear your name called. The ambiance of the restaurant is a little bit similar to a diner style, and the windows at the front of house let in a lot of light, making it almost too bright if you're there when it's beaming in (we were). Our group had a lot of different items, but I will only mention the ones that we (my husband and I) tried! -Gochujang Fries: SO tangy and delicious. Not too much of the Gochujang sauce to overpower everything. -Poutine Fries: Again, very tasty, and this time a lot more savory vs. tangy. Very hearty and filling! -Pea Soup: I am obsessed with anything pea, so had to get this. I don't think they have it all the time, but they did when we went, and I'd recommend giving it a try if it's on the menu when you go. It was creamy and superb, covered in little celery slices and almond shavings. -Smoked Fried Chicken Sandwich: This was gigantic, with how large the chicken strips on the sandwich were, so I could see it being a little hard to take bites of it, without rearranging some things. It has toppings of pickles, honey mustard, and a spicy aioli sauce - so it is definitely delish, but wish it were just a bit smaller in stature. -Pork Belly Cubano Sandwich: I cut my Cubano teeth in Puerto Rico so I was intrigued by this version, and it was pretty good, with the classic ham and Swiss, pickles, and mustard/mayo. It wasn't "smushed" down enough to bring back memories of the San Juan Cubanos, but it was a pretty good Omaha-substitution. -Basil Chicken Salad Sandwich: I ordered this because I love chicken salad sandwiches but I was a little apprehensive as I wasn't sure how much basil would be in/on it. It ended up being pretty good, with raisins, celery, and a few other veggies that almost made it taste like Thanksgiving. Not the exact chicken salad you're used to (with just a mayo base), as there is a definite basil flavor to this one, but I wouldn't let that scare you off. Get Real has some odd hours (closed on Mondays, only open for lunch on certain days/lunch and dinner on others), so I would definitely check the hours ahead of time before you head there. If you can get there when they're open, and are in the area - I definifity recommend checking them out if you see something on the menu that interests you!
What a great find! We hadn't planned on going out to eat but we're in this part of town hungry. Normally we plan food destinations in advance, but this time we walked Blackstone and Get Real caught our eye. After a quick Yelp check, we went in. Everything was excellent! The front of house staff was on her own, hustling, on top of everything and with a smile interesting tidbits of info all throughout the meal. We started with house fries with spicy aioli and gochujang dipping sauces. All delicious. We also were curious about the mushroom toast and figured with buratta it had to be good. I love a buratta, but the star were the mushrooms. The chef marinates them and they were so flavorful. The crunchy toast was a perfect base. The sandwiches - fried chicken and turkey - were both really good, the bread on the turkey was especially wonderful. But I'd have to say tying the mushroom toast for star of the meal was the bread pudding. We were surprised to hear the desserts are also made in house so had to try one. The bread pudding rotates flavors and today's was blueberry. It was a huge serving with crunchy top parts and moist center packed with berries.
I love a good sandwich. And that's exactly what you'll get here. Why don't I come more often...?? It's a great spot and excellent people watching location for blackstone when the weather is good and the garage doors open.
Well I wasn't feeling good today ...and had the crazy craving for "Real Sandwiches" my husband "Dean" ordered ahead and it was ready when he arrived to pick it up! So I have bad news and good news ...we desperately wanted their DELICIOUS brownie sandwich (made with peanut buttercream ...)bad news...they were sold out.....good news ..we just get to go again!!! win win for ME...we ordered a smoked chicken sandwich, pickles, spicy aioli on a whole grain honey mustard brioche bun....deliciously large with a balance of portions...(perfect combo of flavors(not over flowing with unnecessary added items) the roasted sweet potato sandwich was scrumptious..never have I had one..didn't know it was a "thing" but I'm totally in love with this sandwich...we was loaded up with mushroom conserva, provolone cheese, flavorful grilled onions, peppers, greens, spinach pesto, aioli on a ciabatta fresh bun...it was so big (half was plenty for me) we also had the fried artichoke hearts prepared oh do delicately with whipped goat cheese, balsamic, pistachio and lemon...(I need that YUMMNESS as a meal..I enjoyed every last bite) ....I plan on having a "girls afternoon" of drinks and appetizers and the famous brownie sandwich (it was hard to share about this popular sandwich brownie because I really wanted to keep it my "secret" and have them all to myself)
Food was good but a bit pricy, nice calm atmosphere but overall loved it. Service was quick & attentive.
The atmosphere here was super cool and comfy with the wood benches and tables and pillows throughout. Staff were friendly and everything was clean. The downer was we both had the chicken sandwich and it was seasoned really well but it was a really big chicken thigh and was a little chewy. I think a chicken breast is the norm amongst chicken sandwiches so it was a bummer that the quality of the sandwich was not as good as others. I know some prefer it but on the sandwich it was rubbery and dark meat.
I have never been here before, but I came for their Reuben for the great reuben debate. This was my first reuben of the debate and boy is it worth it! Their Korean spin on the Reuben was unique and absolutely delicious! Since I've never been, I had to get something else as well so I got the fried artichoke. The artichoke was good and I'm glad I tried, but not something I need to try again. However, their interesting take on dishes such as the artichoke and their reuben is definitely something that will bring me back to try their other food! Yummm

Stopped in for a late lunch on a Friday, and it was pretty quiet. Ordered the Smoked chicken sandwich, really picked up on the subtle smoke profile, and the spread gave it just the right amount of heat for me. On the side, I got some Poutine fries and it brought me back to life: cheese curds, gravy that had a good amount of seasoning and flavor. Everything came out piping hot and fresh. A solid lunch experience in Omaha's Blackstone neighborhood. read more
All day breakfast items, crafty sandwiches, cocktails and more. It can seem a bit pricey but considering the ingredients and quality of the food, it's worth the money. The fried chicken bites were incredible! I wanted to try something different so I went with the chicken bánh mì. It reminded me of sushi not at all in a fishy way but the fresh, crisp veggies. I enjoyed it. My friend got the roast turkey and added cucumbers. That was a really good sammy, too. Great service. read more

Whether you're seeking a unique sandwich experience or a hearty weekend brunch, Get Real Sandwiches offers a welcoming atmosphere and a menu that promises to satisfy. Highly recommended the Fluffhead on the brunch menu (...chef's kiss)....as well as the Smoked Salmon Hash and the Jaco Pesto-Rius. Pair it up with bottomless Mimosas and you're set. NOT your average sandwich shop, for sure!! The food is deliciously tip top! Mixologist Liz, (owner extraordinaire) has whipped up some delicious new cocktails for the 'summer lineup'. My favorite was the strawberry rhubarb vodka. Yum!! I am also proud to say I opened up my palate to brussel sprouts...due entirely to the fact that the way they prepare and cook them here is divine! In addition, next time I go back, I just might have to order TWO ordee of the chicken bites! They are out of this world. (Tho I've been told the Cubano is to die for too ) The service - friendly and welcoming, the space/decor very inviting and relaxing. In the future, will not be just passing this spit by on a walk thru the district. It May be, in fact, the first stop. Looking forward to visiting on a second Saturday event when they have live music. Bring your friends and family out for a nice treat! It's well worth the trip. read more

This place was so good!!! Such a cute atmosphere. I love all the real plants, wood accents and the pillows are a great touch. I wanted to order every sandwich they offered but settled with the Italian meat. It was way bigger than expected and ended up taking half home to munch on later. What a good sturdy sandwich - pesto was amazing, meat was a good portion and the bread was oh so fresh! We also ordered the Brussels and fries and both were tasty as well. This place deserves your business, good customer service and amazing bites. read more

Get Real is a nice casual, yet trendy option in the Blackstone area. Not wanting to wait an hour and 15 minutes for a table at Mula, we ventured in here. The menu is written on a chalkboard when you walk in and you order at a counter with food brought out later. I tried the roasted carrot sandwich, which was delicious and flavorful and packed with fresh ingredients. The bread was also amazing. My husband was satisfied with his smoked fried chicken sandwich and we both enjoyed a couple of their craft cocktails, which definitely take the experience up a notch. The staff was really friendly and I would come back to sample more! read more
Get real is a fabulous lunch spot tucked away in Blackstone. The woman at the counter was incredibly friendly, there was plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors, and the whole menu sounded delicious. I had the Roast Turkey and it was delicious; loaded with Turkey and apple slices on delicious Ciabatta bread. They also seemed to have a good cocktail menu for those stopping by later in the day. Truly just such a phenomenal sandwich shop. Simple offerings made with a creative pizazz that shows off all the locally sourced ingredients + expertise of the chef and staff. Our favorites so far: Basil corn fritters to start Cubano sandwich Turkey salad (truly so satisfying) The smoky hot sauce on everything Chocolate brownie sandwich for a treat And bonus: Thursday nights, kids eat free! They have a sizable menu of cocktails and craft beers as well, so it's perfect for any crowd. We will happily be back again and again! read more
First time trying the brunch at Get Real Sandwiches. Have been for lunch before and was really impressed by the creativity and flavors. Brunch was no exception. My husband and I ordered the same thing - The Great Dilemma and really enjoyed it. It was definitely massive and we wished we would have split it. It's a fried chicken sandwich with a fried egg and gravy. The only thing I would have changed was to have more of a traditional sausage gravy on it. read more
Best sandwiches in town! My wife and I loved Craft Sliders + Beer but unfortunately, it close down so we were left with no restaurant that was similar to them until we tried Get real. The atmosphere is laid back and chill. They have a wide variety of sandwiches to choose from and a special sandwich each week. They have a good beer selection along with other drinks. The staff is always friendly and will help you choose a sandwich if you are undecided. Go Get Real Sandwiches, you won't be disappointed. read more
Let's GET REAL, does Omaha need ANOTHER sandwich shop?! It does if it's like this joint. Get Real Sandwiches is sooooooo good! I walked in right after they opened at 11:00am and was privileged to met the owners Aden and Liz. Wonderful people. Classic rock was jammin' and the super cool wood vibe by Reclaimed Enterprises is just right. I got the Cubano, which is apparently the top seller. The ham and pickles were both thick cut, indicating these ingredients were as REAL as it gets. I also got the Pecorino fries with some aioli dipping sauce which was a party in my mouth. I was one bite in when Aden walked over and offered me their orginial sauce saying he recommended it on the cuban. He wasn't wrong. Just the right amount of tang without distracting from the other ingredients. It's my first time in and they've been open for just over a year. I won't be making that mistake again. Finally made my way over to this new place in Blackstone...and I must say, I really hope this place makes it! There's been a few restaurants in this location but this place is perfect. Open and airy on the inside, good happy hour deals, and a killer Cubano sandwich! Service was great, and the location is perfect in Blackstone with outdoor and indoor seating options I recommend stopping in here 2-6 for happy hour, grab a cocktail or draft brew, and a Cubano with fries. read more

My husband and I stopped by here for a quick bite around 2 PM. It was our second time visiting, and again it did not disappoint. There was only another couple in the place so we were served quickly. The staff was friendly and inviting. We came during happy hour and the menu was well-priced. Every dish we tried was delicious. I got a single basil, chicken, salad slider, my husband got the Cubano sandwich, and we shared a mushroom toast. Everything was very fresh and flavorful. Flavor and texture combinations were perfect. They were a variety of ingredients in each dish which I very much appreciated. There are two spicy sauces offered, which were decent. This was casual dining and a place where you order at the counter. It would be good for lunch or a quick snack. We will definitely be returning to try more of the menu. read more
What a great new sandwich shop in Blackstone district. I didn't know how much I needed this until I tried it! Please do yourself a favor and stop by for their pork belly Cubano. It is the best Cubano in town hands down! Fresh, toasted bread, thick pork cuts, delicious Swiss cheese, pickles and topped with Dijon aioli that is the icing on the cake. Did I mention they have beer and cocktails? Enjoy a delicious sandwich (or salad and appetizers) with a cold drink that is sure to hit the spot. I tried the Punch you in the Eye cocktail that was the perfect amount of sweet and tangy. I'm looking forward to going back to try the others! After a meeting in Omaha I headed over to Get Real for a sandwich before my drive back to Lincoln. Getting to the sandwich shop from UNMC was trickier than it should have been due to all the construction on Farnham Street. Once there I enjoyed their ambience, the lighting and color scheme were nice and the shop (at 4:30 p.m. on a Friday) was mostly deserted. I ordered the Smoky chicken sandwich and a bowl of sweet potato soup. Get Real shares a bathroom with The bar next door, they were mostly out of soap when I went in to wash my hands but otherwise the bathrooms were fine. The staff were kind and brought my order out a few minutes after I returned from the restroom. I had to eat the soup first while the sandwich cooled down as it was made fresh and was super hot. The meat was a bit stringy in a few places. The sauce was good fine but not very 'smokey' it could have been spicier or a spicy option would have been nice...but it is Nebraska after all. The part that got me was the pickle, there wasn't enough pickle or pickle flavor, I think it's what makes a chicken sandwich of this type really stand out. If I went back I would ask for triple the pickles, just a cup of soup, and something spicy to add to the sandwich and soup which would bump the experience up to four stars. read more
A year ago about, was here. Back again. Fried artichokes for app. Basil Chicken Salad sandwich and Grilled Cheese. Nice setting and seating inside or outside. We are inside diners. Artichokes are great. Have not had much variations of these. But this is really good. Both sandwiches are...in a different high level of great. read more

Love this place! The food and atmosphere are outstanding! It was hard to choose and so we tried a few items and they were all great! Huge bonus was hearing Cole and Kristin perform! The owner welcomed us. He's so friendly and committed to providing a wonderful guest experience. Love supporting this locally owned business. read more
