The humor - extremely amateur. We didn't find the majority of the show funny. The show is two teams competing for "points" in a series of games, much like "Who's Line." There's a referee who reminded me of Joel McHale from The Soup but he wasn't funny at all. He was trying too hard and spent a lot of time wasting our time by repeating things that did not need repeating. The games they play have potential but the performers just failed. They weren't funny at all. Repetitive jokes and childish humor. Not impressed. The atmosphere- place was half empty so lacked energy. The style- lame and childish. No profanity, nothing that's not rated G allowed, from performers or audience members. They remind you several times from beginning to end. Actually they threaten to put a paper bag over your head for the remainder of the show if anyone says or does anything slightly indecent. I feel like this is extremely unnecessary and boring. I felt like I was at a child's birthday party. The venue- simple. too simple. They have a small bar with drinks. Small amount of seats, maybe 40 max? One-room bathroom. Service- they say they open at 7pm but they opened at 7:10pm which was annoying. Verdict- save your money and go to UCB. Sorry NCT.

We arrived earlier than the opening time (suggest putting a bench outside the waiting area-for seniors and children). We were checked in an seated in no time. It was a small stage but it didn't hinder the show performance we received. They engaged the audience and kept us laughing throughout the night. Pianist was on point! There was enough food and drink options to satisfy everyone's taste. This is definitely family friendly. Myself, my parents as well as my kids all enjoyed the show. Keep up the great work! Of course, his participation that evening helped to explain why the tickets sold out in a hurry. He was among several talented stand-up comedians performing that evening. Some were clearly funnier than others. One of them openly admitted that he was struggling to get laughs. The club is a comfortable space. The comics might feel safe because photos and videos are not permitted once the performances begin. The staff is helpful and friendly. Along with your ticket, you're required to buy a minimum of snacks and drinks. The freshly made popcorn is quite good. I think my admission ticket cost $20. It entitled me to a seat in the back. For an additional cost you can get premium seating and sit right next to the stage where comedians can pick on you. No thanks. I might be too thin skinned to literally become the butt of jokes, even if some are really funny. There are age restrictions for attendees. Much of the material wouldn't be considered "clean." Some comedians used graphic, sexual language and did a lot of cursing. So it's not for everybody. Overall, I found the evening fun and I enjoyed a good laugh.

They were closing earl for some reason. But Marie's was next door and I had heard they had a pretty fun Piano bar vibe. down some stairs and then right into the place I went. I made it to the back bar and got a drink that was vey affordable within a few minutes, The service was very quick. Nice guy too. It was a happy room, in part due to the festive vibes coming from the piano. The guy playing the tunes was very good. He was taking requests from everyone and lots of group seeing came along with that I like some broadways tunes, especially when done well, so I thought it was a great time. I came to the area for the jazz, but I was happy to find this fun-time piano bar instead.

I mentioned in a previous review that I had a bad experience here a few months ago and noticed a shift in the energy. What once felt welcoming and communal had started to feel more "mean girl" and "you're not one of us." Last week, I decided to give it another chance because, as I said, I've made so many wonderful memories at this bar over the last decade. I was one of the people who showed up during the pandemic, when we were all sitting socially distanced and still somehow managing to create magic together. I still remember my friend singing his signature "You'll Be a Dentist" while everyone sat six feet apart, and the entire room cheering as if we were packed shoulder to shoulder. Those are the memories I cherished about this place. Unfortunately, after my most recent visit, I can confidently say I won't be coming back, and I can no longer recommend it to newcomers. In my opinion, it has become increasingly elitist, cliquey, and toxic. A brief example: I was sitting on a stool around the piano area. Anyone familiar with Marie's knows that some people around the piano take the experience very seriously, almost as if their Broadway career depends on it. I stepped away to get a drink, and when I returned, someone had taken my seat. No problem--I simply moved to another empty stool. A few minutes later, another patron approached me and said, "That's my seat. I was sitting there." I apologized and explained that someone had taken the stool I had originally been sitting in, but that I believed the seating was essentially first come, first served. People constantly get up, move around, grab drinks, or stand to sing, so it didn't seem like a big deal. It turned out the person who had taken my original seat was with his husband, and it also turned out they were close friends with much of the staff. Once he decided to make it an issue, staff members came over and immediately engaged with me as though I was the problem rather than attempting to de-escalate the situation or hear both sides. They simply took his side because they knew him. I found that incredibly unprofessional. One staff member in particular, Yvette, whom I've always been friendly with over the years despite not knowing personally, repeatedly told me, "I'm just checking on my friend." But that's exactly the problem. As staff, your responsibility is to check on all patrons equally. Just because your friend is upset doesn't automatically mean they're in the right, especially in an environment where alcohol is involved. This entire conflict was over a bar stool, which made the response feel especially unnecessary and immature. What this experience ultimately reinforced is my biggest criticism of Marie's Crisis: the staff does not seem equipped to handle even minor conflicts in an impartial or professional way. Because there is no security presence and because many longtime regulars appear to have close relationships with employees, some patrons seem emboldened to bully, pressure, or dismiss people they don't consider part of their circle. I've witnessed regulars telling people to "shut up" rather than politely reminding them of the etiquette around the piano, and instead of discouraging that behavior, it often feels tolerated or even encouraged. After nearly ten years of coming here, this was genuinely disappointing. I've had incredible nights, met wonderful people, and created memories I'll always treasure. But the atmosphere that once made this place feel special has changed dramatically for me. I can't support this bar anymore. If you're looking for a welcoming GAY bar to sing show tunes in NYC, I'd honestly recommend giving Uncle Charlie's or Townhouse a try instead.

They managed to include almost everyone of us in some capacity, and had us all laughing from the time we arrived to the minute we left. the wait staff at the club were friendly and professional and while it is a pre-fixe menu of chicken parmigiana, pasta with vodka sauce and salad with mini cannolis for dessert , they were very happy to accommodate special dietary needs, in our case it was a severe gluten allergy and a strict vegetarian. The group of actors were so kind to take pictures with us at the end and kept us all laughing even after the show ended. We spent the whole night laughing with the actors, at the actors, at each other, at ourselves and with each other. Truly what fond memories are made of. if You are looking for a unique fun filled interactive experience you should definitely check out Murdered by the Mob.
