My mom loves Genghis Kahn, Kubla Kahn, etc. We frequent ones in other malls, and it's always a sure choice for her. Obviously, when we went to Westminster mall, she chose Genghis Kahn. We will never choose to eat here again. The cook/cashier was surly, rushing, and snappy the whole time. He treated customers like they're annoyances rather than...idk...customers paying the people that pay his wages? I understand that he's busy and he shouldn't have to do all that, but I'm done eating there. Oh, I forgot to mention that he touched money, vegetables, tongs, ladles, grill, his phone (which studies show may have more bacteria than a toilet seat)...everything with one ungloved and one gloved hand where the glove either gets changed rarely or never. read more

This is for the bad customer service from the Caucasian guy. Ive been eating here for 14 years, this is now my never come back spot because of him. I asked for extra garlic and he litterary gave me half a spoon full of liquid, only a few piece of chop garlic, so i repeat myself and he gave me another 1/3 of the liquid spoon. Are you serious? Its just garlic, the cheapest ingredient. His face was sour when i press on bell because no one was at front desk, and then he cooked my food in less than 3 mins. So, I've been coming to this place for as long as I could remember and have never had a problem....until I decided to stop in after doing some holiday shopping. To begin with, my friend and I decided to share a plate because IM 4'11 AND WEIGH 102LBS, I CANT FINISH A MEAL BY MYSELF and the guy said "so you want two plates" cause he saw my friend with me and I said no just one we'll share and he was visibly annoyed! I also got a side of rice and two cokes. when we piled our bowl up and he made us reach under the counter to give him our bowl rather than grabbing it and said "next time I'm charging you for two plates" as if I didn't JUST pay for the extra noodles and side of rice. I decided to brush it off cause this is one of my favorite places and then the cook threw my plate onto our tray and walked away, cool. thanks. whatever. we left to eat and realized he gave us diet soda instead of regular so we went back and told him we'd like to get the drinks we asked for and he was like "are you sure its diet????" like????????? my drink was still full did you want to taste test it, rude man!?!?!!? anyways. i'm mad. never coming back and if I do I might throw a bowl of noodles in his face. There are certain locations that you go to that you never consider eating at like malls, because of the quality of food served. This place IS NOT one of them! My favorite place to eat in Westminster hands down! It's clearly under new management. They have done a complete remodel of the place and it looks fantastic. The food is tasty and fresh and the portions are very generous. You actually get two bowls for your plate, one to load up with meets and veggies and the other with noodles. You get a lot of bang for your buck here. Definitely worth trying out!! Service is pretty friendly too. The guy behind the counter seems to remember me every time. read more

She would not give her name and even said she was the manager. If this is management don't even bother. Asked for the owner's name and she said "no and they don't care anyway!!!! AVOID AT ALL COST!!! been coming here for years now and thought i should write a review since i started yelping recently. beef, pork, bean sprouts, cabbage, broccoli, tomato, tofu, and pineapple is what i top my mountain with. ill ask if they could put extra garlic and make it spicy with everything. now you might be wondering what are all the ingredients they put on once you finish making your mountain. i haven't the slightest idea but man does it taste good. once they finished cooking my food i top it off with sesame seeds, sriracha (because a little more hot couldn't hurt...maybe), and teriyaki sauce to make taste a little sweet. all this for about 10 bucks i think its worth it. read more

I live near the Huntington Beach/ Westminster/ Fountain Valley border so I frequent Westminster mall and the food court. Ghengis Khan has two options: a bowl for $8 and combo that includes a bowl, a soup, and a coke for around $12. It's a bit like a buffet line and you start in the meat section with turkey, chicken, pork, and beef. Then you move on to the vegetables that include tofu and carrots, and finally the sauce station where the cooks put the noodles on top of your bowl and cook it. I personally think Ghengis Khan gives you the best deal because I always split a $8 bowl and a large coke with my friend, that's $10 total so $5/person. It takes serious skills to stuff your bowl as high as the sky. Hint: start with the chicken or turkey because it provides a more solid base. Don't get all beef, it can get salty fast, balance it with something else. read more

I am normally NOT a picky eater. This was PURE EVIL!!!! 4 of us went to dinner here and were unimpressed as soon as we walked in. I thought, we should give it a chance anyway. I couldn't understand why it was so packed considering the food wasn't that good. Other people there had brought in their own food from Chipotle's & Carl's Jr!!!! We went for a second shot at the bbq thinking we maybe missed the combination of seasonings. NOPE. It was still gross. As soon as we walked out, we were hit by the sudden need to go to the bathroom. 1 of the group puked outside the McDonald's across the parking lot. Not the best, not the worst. I've not been to the other gengis khan restaurants, so I have nothing to compare to, but for stir fry/mongolian bbq type food, it wasn't terrible. The ingredients were fresh as you could expect from a mall food court restaurant. The lady was nice. The price seems a tad high to me, but it covered that craving I'd been having. I eat at the one in the Cerritos mall all time and have for years. It's always nice and flavorful. This one has smaller veggie selections and has no flavor at all after cooked. The noodles were dry and bland. Horrible. I don't think they use the "BBQ" sauce (brown cooking sauce) that all the other gengis khans I've been to use and instead just use water to steam the food when they cook. The service is horrible!!! I accidentally dropped my drink today while moving across the bar, though I said sorry, the staff and especially the mean lady just looked at me like I committed a crime!!! She glared at me while cleaning that up, and didn't even offer me if I want another one. I asked if she can help get me a new cup and I'll pay for refill (53 cents) but she makes me pay for a new drink!!! And the whole "all you can fit in the bowl" concept is bull.. Was in the mall and decided to try this place, at first i was skeptical about the amount of meat, veggies and noodle that can be fit in the one bowl i was given, but to my surprise, you can pack lot of meat and veggies in that bowl and they give you another bowl of noodle at the end. turned out to be lot of food which i enjoyed a lot, not to mention the 20% discount that they have going on right now, not sure how long that will last, but i will be back here again to have another bowl. read more

While you are shopping in the Westminster Mall, you can eat at Ghengis Khan. It's sort of like a buffet. You pick the ingredients and they cook it up right in front of you. It's delicious chow mein. When it's piping hot and fresh, it's so good. The only negative is I wish the portion was bigger. They give you a bowl to put all your ingredients in but I can never put enough in. The beef is cold and curled when it's cold so it's difficult to put a lot in your bowl. Sometimes, you can spend minutes stacking up your bowl. Please give bigger bowl and save me this embarrassment! read more
