Great noodle soups and baos in a pleasant space! I had the Mi vit tiem and their version is excellent. The broth and duck had great flavor. It came with plenty of bok choy and shitake mushrooms which is to my liking. For $16 a bowl, the price is quite reasonable. They cater to the late night crowd as they open till 2:00 every night!
My family and I loved this place so much, we came back the next night. This time we got: - macaroni noodle: this was yummy. It was cooked perfect. Noodles are on the softer side. - fried squid: breading made it crispy in a way that wasn't heavy.
This is my family's go-to late night meal. It opens late, has plenty of parking in the evening/night time, and the service is quick. Eating here, my mom would tell me it reminded her of when she was in Vietnam. I really enjoyed eating their egg noodle and rice noodles dishes. The taste is always consistent, and I love how you can customize. You can choose either the thin or thick noodles and if you want it with soup or eat dry. If you like a more chewy noodle texture, definitely get egg noodle. Wheras, if you like softer noodle texture, you should get the rice noodle. I took a star off because the one time I took my friends here, the service was incredibly slow. We felt like we were getting ignored by the staffs the moment we sat down on the table. After 20 minutes or so of sitting down, no one came to take our orders despite walking past us many times. They also got my order wrong. I wanted the Hu tieu sui cao dry but they gave me hu tieu hoanh thanh dry. I do enjoy both so i did not bother asking them to change it, but it would be frustrating for those who do have a preference to have their orders placed wrong. Overall, it is a comfy restaurant and I really love the food here!
Must try!!! The food is amazing, it will bring you the "Mì Tàu Chợ Lớn". Let the food talk, highly recommend!!! Services are good with free herbal jelly dessert. Nước Mát - Herbal Drink is very good with anything noodles. Open until 2am, good place to hanging out night time.
Hue Ky Mi Gia - Food and Service Appear to Be Declining My wife and I decided to try Hue Ky Mi Gia. The restaurant is located in a busy plaza, and the parking lot is shared with several other businesses, so finding a parking space can be difficult. Location and Parking -- 2/5 The location is convenient, but parking can be challenging because many businesses share the same parking lot. Atmosphere and Comfort -- 2/5 The air-conditioning was weak, and the front door remained open, so the restaurant felt warmer than expected. Service -- 3/5 The service was only okay. The waiters were not especially friendly or welcoming. Food -- 2/5 I ordered the mì vịt tiềm. As everyone can see from my picture, my bowl came with only one small piece of bok choy. In comparison, pictures posted by other customers show the same dish served with several pieces of fresh vegetables. The noodles were okay but much too oily. The broth served on the side was not hot enough, and the duck was dry and tough instead of tender. The pickled vegetables were also too sour. Restaurants can change over time. Based on the difference between my meal and the meals shown in other customers' pictures, the portions and food quality appear to be inconsistent and declining. Cleanliness -- 2/5 The dining area was acceptable, but the restroom needed more attention and cleaning. Overall -- 2/5 Stars Overall, our experience was below average. Hue Ky Mi Gia may be worth trying once if you want something different, but the food, service, comfort, and cleanliness all need improvement.
TLDR = spot to hit up for egg noodle craving at any time - and can grab some bao to go Exterior = 5/5 Located in the T&K plaza, there is lots of parking. I will say you may not park directly in front but you will find parking. The plaza has a bunch of eateries in it so you can grab dessert or coffee after. Interior = 5/5 When you enter, you have the to go bao station on the right and the eating tables on the left. It is nicely lit and there is a good amount of space between tables. Service = 5/5 They move quick here. As soon as we sat we had a few minutes then they were ready to take our order. The place can get super busy so I see why. They are quick with churning out the food as well. Order = 5/5 I got the BBQ pork and wonton with thin egg noodle and dry style. Dry style means they put some soup on the side and put the sauces and noodles in the bowl. I don't know if that means you get different sauces than the soup style, might have the check that next time. I liked how I could control the amount of soup I had so this worked for me. The bowl was beautiful with the slices of meat, crispy pork rinds, lettuce, fried shallots, and egg noodles. The noodles had a nice chew and definitely hit that noodle craving I was having. I would pour in soup as I go (the soup was nice and light but flavorful). They have chili oil and pickled jalapenos to add. Careful with the jalapenos, I got hit with a super spicy one. Also ordered the iced herbal tea (Nước mát) on the menu. It was not to sweet, the pandan flavor was pronounced, and it went well with the food. I found it refreshing and a must get. When I left I grabbed the special steamed bao with the salted egg and a couple custard. Both made great breakfast for the next day and I plan to grab more when I go back. They also end your meal with a little dessert jelly (loved that service). Overall = 5/5 Nice spot that each time I was able to grab seating pretty quickly and we had 4+ size parties. The noodles were delicious. The drink paired nicely. The baos I got to go were great. Tip = get the baos to go and get the drink.
Was craving duck noodles and chicken wings after our morning coffee. Came to this spot and was seated immediately. The inside is expansive and has plenty of seating. The food was ok but to me, didn't leave that much of an impression.
What an absolute diamond in the ruff. A true hole in the wall. We came here after a late weekday night event and the place was still popping! Service was great and food was outstanding. Not gonna lie the place could be a little cleaner, but it was good enough and the food more than made one forget any shortcomings this place has. We got the wontons which were ok but not great. We also got the roasted duck over dry noodles and combo rice noodle soup. Both were fantastic! That duck definitely hit different!! Would definitely come back!
We tried Mi Vit Tiem (dry), Sui cao cay, and Mi xa xiu (dry). The food was flavorful and nicely presented, especially the tender duck and savory noodles. The spicy dumplings had a good kick without being overwhelming. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. A solid meal overall, and we would gladly come back!

Their Hu tieu menu is top tier! Try the hu tieu with the duck, it's pretty bomb! The space gives off a real Vietnamese nature vibe -- super chill and cozy. The bánh bao here is honestly next-level: soft, hot, and perfectly fragrant. I ordered the crab tapioca soup, and the flavor was rich and addictive. Their bánh bao is made fresh daily with salted egg yolk, Chinese sausage, and pork -- so good you'll want to get another one. Overall, the food here is fire, everything tastes amazing, and it's definitely a spot I'd come back to.
My mom really likes the wonton egg noodles here. The texture is perfect - not too soft and not too hard. Nice bite to it. She brought me here to try it. I got the fish maw soup and spicy wontons. The fish maw soup is quite flavorless tbh. It wasn't the best. I had to really add flavor to it by adding different sauces, including the sauce that came with my spicy wonton lol The wonton sizes were perfect and cooked nicely too. It had a good amount of meat in it, rather than it being majority dumpling wrapping paper. They were not overcooked, which I feel some people have a problem with. Overcooking wontons makes the wrapping paper get too soggy. This place did not have that issue! We also purchased a few of their baos, but I forgot to take a picture. Lots of different bao flavors. No wait when we went but it was very busy! Good for them - I love seeing businesses thrive, especially great mom and papa ones. Good location, right in the heart of Little Saigon. There is a lot of parking, but there are a lot of stores in the same shopping center, so keep that in mind. I like the decor of this store. It had an old noodle cart in front, which my mom told me she used to eat noodles from a cart like that in Vietnam. Nice memento :)
Open late til 2am and you'll get your food within 5 mins of ordering during lunch rush hour! Flavorful and filling portions at a good price. Located in the T&K mall where parking is notoriously difficult to find. I tried their wonton noodles and duck noodle, and was a fan of the soup. I also tried the crispy seafood noodle it wasn't what I was looking for. Being a huge spice addict, I appreciated the chili oil and pickled jalapenos at the table side to spice up the dishes. Would I come back? Definitely.
This is genuinely one of my favorite late night spots. The service is always great and friendly and the restaurant itself is pretty spacious and clean. Not pictured, but my go-to is the wonton soup when I want something light and comforting. The flavors here are great - you can't go wrong with anything you choose!
While waiting, I saw an article (displayed on their counter) about how this restaurant started or original was opened in Seattle area. I believe the concept replicated HK Cart Noodle from mobile food stalls and let customers choose noodles, broth, and toppings. Hue Ky Mie Gia, with business so great, extended hours to 2AM! More interesting to side, you could order fresh steamed buns both savory or sweet. The noodles dishes are amazing. You cannot go wrong with either the dry or soup based noodles! I love that you could add some much more than just extra wontons! You could add fishballs, quail eggs (I did), big shrimps, tofu skins, etc -- including the type of noodles. I had heard quite a bit about Hue Ky Mi Gia and had seen a lot of advertising, so I wanted to try it at least once for myself. Unfortunately, my actual experience did not quite match what I had expected from the reviews and promotions. I ordered the Beef Stew Noodle Soup, and my husband ordered the Roasted Duck Noodle Soup. For me, the broth was very light and lacked flavor. If I'm being completely honest, it tasted quite bland. The beef was also very tough and did not have much seasoning or aroma. It tasted more like plain boiled beef than beef stew. The roasted duck itself was actually pretty good and had decent flavor, but the broth did not complement the duck at all. It almost felt like the duck and the soup belonged to two completely different dishes. It is a little difficult to describe, but the flavors just did not come together. On the positive side, the service was friendly, attentive, and quick. The restaurant is not very large, and the dining area did not feel especially open or spacious. I can imagine that it may feel quite crowded on busy weekends. Parking, however, is very convenient and spacious since the restaurant is located in a shopping center with a supermarket. Overall, the service was good, but unfortunately the food did not live up to my expectations, especially the broth. read more
Stopped by to get lunch with my dad, and this place has become his go-to spot for noodles! There were a good number of seats inside, and the restaurant was decorated with lots of traditional touches. When we arrived, we were seated right away since it wasn't very busy. The waitress was really nice and answered any questions we had about the menu. Thank you! Here's what we ordered: Mi Sui Cao Kho (5/5): I really liked how they served the wontons on the side so they didn't make my noodles all soggy. Mi Vit Quay (4.5/5): I think my dad really liked this one. I forgot to ask for his opinion, but he definitely devoured everything in that bowl LOL. Chinese Donut (5/5): Fried fresh, so it was perfectly crispy and honestly so addicting to eat! Steamed Pork Kidneys (3/5): Not bad, but I felt like it was missing something to complete the flavor. Sometimes I have a craving for duck braised in Chinese Herbs Noodles soup. This one is a special duck leg marinated in like Chinese Medicine Herbs, with the darker soup and darker skin. The best place would have a very tender duck leg, not hard and the meat you can taste with the special chinese herbs and the soup and noodles are different from all other soup. Last time I was in OC, my friend introduced me this place and it's the best one I've tasted so far. It was so good that I came twice. My sister like the bbq duck noodles soup which is good too. Since I'm always hungry, I have to ask for the extra noodles for $2. The prices and the services are great, very inexpensive and the service is attentive and quick. My wife also love this duck soup, I'll bring her here next time when we go together. read more

Service was ok , it feel like the waitress was rushing me to order and didnt give us time to look over the menu. It wasnt even busy for her to rush us yo order. Food came out fast tho. The soup was sooo delicious! It was kind of packed inside but worth the wait. I also tried the taro bao that was a perfect touch of sweetness. I also had a meat and egg bao that was super tasty. read more

Food is so good. And the service here is so friendly and nice. The noodles here are really good, perfectly chewy and full of flavor. The portions are big I can never finish a whole bowl! Definitely a great spot if you're craving a satisfying and filling meal. read more

Overall score - 3.5 Parking can be challenging as I had camped out for 5 minutes. Ordered - Siu CẬU noodle soup with bbq pork . Broth - Lacks on sodium department. Their CHILI OIL on table side is definitely life saving to the bring the level up! Wontons taste good and go well with a little dash of vinegar and soy sauce. Slice BBQ pork is pretty basic. Fried pork rinds - a nice touch with crunch. Too bad no sauce dishes at table side. Service - Satisfactory Overall a safe choice to all patrons who want to dine in without having to wait in long queues. read more

Pros: it's super clean inside, lots of seating, service is superrr fast, and can kinda host larger parties (we had a party of 7). The chicken wings were delicious and I throughly enjoyed my mi won Thanh. The menu is pretty expansive too. Cons: I think it's on the pricier side as it's located in the plaza where things tend to be more expensive. Some others said their broth fell flat for them or the soup could've had more protein. Overall, it's a decent place to check out if you're looking for something speedy and good! read more

The noodle bowls were good. The noodles flavored well with sauce and perfectly cooked. The herbal broth for the duck was great. Enjoyed the pickled papaya it came with. The veggie and tofu was filling. The chicken bun was good - lots of filling and we enjoyed the custard bun for dessert. read more

Last year when we visited Westminster, we missed a chance to try out Hue Ky Mi Gia, so this time, it was one of the places we planned to dine in. Ngọc Nữ (?), our server, was excellent. She was not only knew the menu so well, but she also was super friendly while maintaining the professional efficiency on a busy brunch time right after New Year. She found us a great round booth perfectly for 6. Instead of assuming that we all knew the menu, she asked if we were there before, which was so brilliant. Then she could recommend the specialities. I loved my Duck Noodle Soup (Mì Vịt Tiềm). I have eaten this dísh many times before, and twice in this trip, and I loved Hue Ky's version, with their own crunch papaya pickle, Chinese bokchoy, mushroom, tasty broth and the duck softened enough to melt in your mouth without the need of any cutlery. The Specialty of the House was great. The Wonton Side Bowl pỏtion was much bigger than expected but delicious. I had a chance to try a piece of dumpling (sủi cảo) which accommodated one noodle soup, and it was good. It was named after a very famous noodle cart in Saigon, and I think the legendary has been kept. If you are in Westminster and in the mood for Chinese Noodle Soups, I would highly recommend this establishment. read more
We've been here over 3 times already. In the beginning I didn't like this place too much, though overtime it's grown on me. My parents like this place a lot with our most recent time going for Mother's Day. Negatives -taste: food is pretty standard, we had better Chinese/Vietnamese noodles. Positives -value: good value for the food given. We've had cheaper places for the same amount/type of food. -service: quick and clean Overall 4/5 This is basically the only place that my parents like that me and my wife find decent. Absolute gem in Bolsa, Little Saigon. My parents brought me here and I left completely stuffed, satisfied, and even had leftovers to enjoy for dinner tonight. The portions are generous and the flavors are authentically Vietnamese. It might not be the healthiest meal, but for a Sunday cheat day, this place is unbeatable. The food hits all the right notes of comfort and nostalgia. It is definitely my new go-to spot and the perfect place to bring friends late at night since they are open until 2 a.m. The service was fast, friendly, and made the whole experience even better. read more
We have been here twice now. Each time we have had to put our name on the wait-list as it has been after 9pm on a Friday evening and they are busy. We wait around 15-20 minutes and once seated they come quickly to get your order. They have many selections on the menu. I enjoy the dry noodles with just meat and bean sprouts, no veggies. My husband likes to dry different items. M11. Mì Sủi Cảo Xá Xíu Dumpling & BBQ Pork Egg Noodle as a soup, which he found very flavorful and quite delicious. He was happy that they have him a few of each meat, but wish there was a little bit more of the pork like other places give. He had also tried the B1 Bún Gạo Xá Xíu - BBQ Pork Rice Vermicell as a soup too. He did like this one but though it needed more pork in it too. He has also had the B3 Bún Gạo Thập Cẩm - Cẩm - Shrimp, BBQ Pork, Chicken & Pork Liver as a to go order. He did love that dish as a soup too. We also ordered one each of 1. ĐẶC BIỆT TRỪNG MUÔI, 2. ĐẶC BIỆT TRỨNG CÚT TƯƠI, 3 ĐẶC BIỆT TRỨNG GÀ TƯƠ. I wish they put the English translation on the menu as I have to ask each time. One is chicken egg, duck egg and quail egg. They are very good and are stuffed nicely and not just all dough. They are flavorful too but I think the pork could use a little more pepper personally. I'm happy they offer white pepper on the table, so I season it myself. We choose to get ours with our meal but you can also get them as a pack to go. They also give you a free jello type dessert. The servers and staff are always rushing around to quickly move the tables as it's busy here. It is a bit loud and I'm not sure why these places insist on playing club type music. Also, their TV's have a social media loop playing which is very short and it's quite old and boring really quick. I wish they would put something else in them. How about showing videos of them making their ĐẶC BIỆT TRỨNG and noodles? Or videos of their country and heritage? I would love to see that as I didn't need to see social media saying if you see this you owe me noodles or if your name starts with this letter you owe me noodles, etc. Great good at decent prices and we will keep returning. read more
