    Wonton egg noodle
    Lyn P.

Was in town came here with my daughter and we tried out this place and it was very good. My daughter had wonton egg noodle and I had shrimp with pig kidney. And it was really crowded and very busy place. Came here around 1 and the parking was very hard to find because it's in a small plaza and it's very hard to find parking. Service is very good. No complaints. Ambience it's ok place has no t.v and the setting in this restaurant is pretty average.

Was changing my oil near by and decided to grab a quick bite! Heard lots of great things about this place. Sat outside and service was really good. Ordered #3 with mixture of thin hu tieu and mi noodles! Soup on the side! Lots of things to add to this dish on the table. It felt like it was missing something. Some sort of flavor or kick. I added their jalapeños to this dish and it was better.

Stopped by here to have lunch with my parents. They each got a soup based dish and I opted for a stir fried one. I got the stir fried rice noodles with beef (and soy sauce). It is a "dry" style fried noodle. The food came out quickly and overall was pretty good. My only critique is that it was slightly under seasoned and a little oily. Otherwise I love the "wok" flavor and the beef was good. I would probably come back again for their soup noodle dish - my dad really like his lunch, which was their signature dish.

Dang .,,.. busy restaurant, parking almost possible to find parking. Parking lot are shared near by malls and businesses. Some parking are marked 1 hour parking. The restaurant is Jammed packed, including outside patio eating. Lines are outside the door. Wait time 15 min to 30 minutes. The food is good, I will rated it's 5 out 5. Ordered multiple dishes as well. I got wonton with egg noodles and fried rice cake.

This place has been here for decades and it still same old decor and same old dishes. Not much changed at this place, except the prices. Small marking but there is the Asian mall parking next door, small inside, clean and bright and well kept. Busy in the morning with usual customers. Their foods are not bad at all, still taste the same as I remembered back decades ago. Love they have deep fried fat in the table for topping, love it. Service is good, typical Asian one. Overall enjoyed being back here with good old memories.

Been loving this place from the moment I discovered it decades ago. I used to explore a lot of noodles restaurants in 626 area and I'm glad I found Kim Ky when I moved to OC area. Located in Asian Garden Mall, parking could be a little challenging because this place is always crowded. Expect wait times , stop don't come here super hungry. The vibe is very old school and I love how they offer unlimited refills of pork cackling! Dry noodle is always the best. Everyone working here are nice and friendly.

If you are looking for a traditional Asian noodle house Kim Ky hits the spot. You can order food with menu numbers and pictures unless you speak Viet or Chinese. Noodles soups hit the spot for anytime of the day. Their drinks are pretty good too. Service is quick but you have to put your name on the wait list. We've waited 30 min Ave time no reservations. You know it's good hole in the wall when there's always a line outside. Ambiance is there if you like the sound of people eating and chatting away. All dishes look good on menu but we come for the noodles

One of my favorite classic hu Tieu ho fun places. Brings back great memories of the classic noodles on a cold day. Broth is super savory. Service is great and fast.

You know what's better than having delicious noodles in OC? It's that they have outdoor seating for my pup! Kudos for being the cool place to be at the Asian mall. Being first time here, kinda overwhelmed with their menu, but took a chance anyways and sure glad I got some yummy noodles. I think flavor wise they're a bit more superior compared to TC and their condiments outshines TC as well, so it's not a stretch to admit this will be my go-to for all types of noodles. Service is prompt and the lady is very helpful with the menu since it's hard to decide what to order. Parking is not bad since we parked on the side street. To avoid crowds, it's best to dine around 1p to avoid the lunch rush. Best of all, they take credit card!

Hands down, our go-to spot for hu tieu. Not even kidding when I saw we come weekly! We ALWAYS order the hu tieu thap cam with rice noodles (you can choose between thin or thick noodles). At first taste, the broth may seem bland, but you HAVE to use all the condiments they provide! It makes such a huge difference and you can really customize it to your liking. They're very quick to bring your order out and the bowl is always pipin' hot! Side note: they steam their bean sprouts so if you're like us and prefer to eat them raw, just let them know. They're pretty busy in the morning, especially on the weekends, but we've never waited any longer than 15 minutes. They also have outside seating available. The workers are all super friendly! Warning: they're literally right next to Asian Garden Mall so it can get a bit chaotic with the drivers. And they do have a parking lot but it's only one way in, it can get filled pretty quickly.

After visiting the OC/LA area, we're on the way back to the Bay Area, we wanted to have some lunch before we go. Some of the restaurant closed on Monday, one our friends recommended this place for real excellent egg noodles soups, so we stopped by, it's right next to PLT the big VN shopping center. There's no parking for this restaurant, the whole block has a few parking spots and there's parking on the PLT but always full. We had to park outside on a different shopping center. The restaurant is small and simple, clean. The owner or the care taker seems to be extremely friendly and attentive sitting us on a table. The menu has quite a few dishes, but we're concentrating on egg noodle soup for lunch so we ordered the special bowl of rice noodles instead of egg noodles. It's quite good, quite tasty with chinese crispy donuts. We had a great lunch and the price is extremely inexpensive. Ready to drive home.

Finally found a place that had yummy boiled kidney cooked without a smell I really enjoyed the kidney as well as the noodles They have the garlic sauce on the side so you can put it to your own taste. Everything was good and service is also fast

I always appreciate a good Vietnamese noodle soup place! I got the Mi Hoanh Thanh (Egg Noodle w/ Wontons) and it comes with Char Siu meat! The broth was rich and not oily. I loved being able to customize the flavor with the condiments on the side! The wontons were pretty big and juicy as well. To wash the savory, I got a Thai Milk Tea which wasn't too sweet! Coming here during Lunar New Year weekend, I expected a crazy wait but service was quick! Our server even gave us suggestions when we were confused and it came out delicious as expected!

The food comes out quick and it may not be a Michelin star worthy food but it's definitely a comfort food for a lot of people. Their black bean noodles are a staple but I also recommend the spicy shrimp, sweet n sour pork, and sizzling rice soup. Their jjambbong (spicy seafood noodle soup) is just ok.. Service is great because I think the servers recognize my family but speaking Korean also helps. Unfortunately, I have witnessed some of the servers being kind of rude to other patrons. The servers are just always in a rush. But I always find myself going back whenever we have a big group. Don't expect a nice, clean, modern ambiance. The carpets old, decor is questionable, and sometimes there's a weird smell. But I will continue to go here.

The beef with the scallion pancakes was sooo tender. The cucumber salad was extra refreshing with the perfect balance of savory and tangy. You also can't ever go wrong with spicy wontons, pan fried buns, popcorn chickens, or braised green beans. Yum! Huge bonus: the restaurant is directly connected to Ben Gong's Tea. Mine and my bf's go to are the dry fried green beans, mapo tofu, Chong Qing Spicy Chicken, and Yang Chow fried rice. These are more than enough for two people and we always have leftovers to take home. The mapo tofu pairs soooo well with the fried rice and my bf loves the chicken. Green beans are flavorful and crispy as well! Hot and sour soup is HUGE. They aren't consistent in making this because some days it's the perfect balance of tangy and spicy flavor, but other times its tooooo sour. The restaurant is very spacious. This helped us get a table much faster than we would have than if we had just shown up and waited. We ordered the large family meal, and there were 12 of us. We also ordered the Newport Lobster, fish fillet with black bean sauce, and an extra shrimp fried rice. Overall, I think the food was good, and the prices are reasonable (except the lobster, which was pricey, as you might expect from anything listed as "market price"). Most of us in the group thought the fish fillet with black bean sauce was the best. I thought it was very good, but not necessarily fantastic. (There are other Chinese restaurants that do it a little better.) The sauce was very good, but the fish wasn't quite as tender as it can be. Definitely a solid 4 stars. Other dishes were good. I think the scallop soup could have been great for some people, but my wife and I both hate cilantro, and there was a ton of cilantro. The pork was also good, and my friends thought the clams were also really good. I found the fried rice a bit bland. And for both the lobster and the crab, they could have made them a little easier to eat by cracking the shells a bit more for us. I hate fighting with my food ... And there was a fair amount of fighting on these 2 dishes. The lobster cost almost much as all the other dishes combined. It certainly looked amazing. And the sauce was very good. But I found most of it a bit overcooked. Maybe it was our fault for asking for a big one. Maybe a smaller lobster might have been cooked a little less. The great sauce (along with the fighting with the shell) might have covered up the fact that the meat was actually a bit tough and rubbery. I don't think I'd order this again. The service was very friendly and pretty fast. And, again, other than the lobster, the pieces were pretty reasonable.

Our family joked around and would say let's go to the travel agency restaurant when we had a craving for Chinese/Vietnamese type of food. I recall the food back then was extra tasty and memorable, leaving me wanting to return again and again. However, my recent lunch outing with my girlfriends changed my mind. Our servers were attentive and friendly. I think it helped that my friend was a familiar customer. We came on a Monday afternoon around 11:30 and It was early enough where parking was still available. We ordered the classic dishes, including salt and pepper fried pork chopsand salt and pepper fried shrimp, but the taste this time around left a lot to be desired. These two dishes lacked the crunchiness and flavors that these fried entrees are supposed to showcase. We found the pork chops to be dry and tough, as if it was prepared a while ago and sitting out for some time before it made its way to our table. The shrimp was not impressive either. At least the shaking beef or bo luc lac was good. The beef chunks were tender, and the flavors were on point. Bonus points for the broth that is complimentary during lunch. Also the complimentary orange slices were a nice touch to end our meal. We'd still return for the lobster and noodle when the occasion comes up.
