Great pizza! I have tried anything else here, because the pizza is so good, I keep going back for that!

Wow! My boyfriend introduced me to this location for pizza. I have lived here in Monterey area just over a year and am still discovering all the yummy spots worthy of my hard earned dollars. This place was so good. I would have given it 5 stars but the bar appeared not open and we had to hunt down a bartender. There is a full bar and about 5 beers on tap, if I remember correctly. We ordered a large Gianni's special I believe. It was so good! I ate pizza all week from the leftovers. The crust held up and was the perfect thickness.The crust was charred perfectly from the oven and everything was cooked to perfection. I will be back. This is a good place for a date, or a large group of people. They also have pasta, salads and gelato. I cannot wait to go back! read more

Pizza was delicious. We went there for a small birthday party and they were very accommodating.

Yum! Found Gianni's Pizza on Yelp and so glad we did. Got a mini pepperoni and a mini Gianni special pizza (8", 4 slices per) and it was the perfect amount. We ordered online quick and easy, set it up to be ready for pick up around 8. We arrived a little early and waited outside the front briefly until we were called to the counter. Stepped aside for maybe 3 minutes and our pizza was ready! Ranch was 50 cents but who doesn't charge for ranch now days.... So the pizza... the pizza was so good!! I ordered mine "crispy" because I had read a review it was better (I recommend it, it doesn't come burnt at all.. it's perfectly crisp). The Gianni's special we got was made "regular" and I could tell it was a tad more moist on the bottom from all the meat piled on top! Well, we devoured it all. Kept saying we would save the last slice for later but that didn't happen. Well done Gianni's. I love a good pizza :) read more

We ordered a medium 2 topping (pepperoni and bacon) pizza for pick up. The boys absolutely loved it! A big ups is that they have a good size parking lot (especially for this area). We didn't have trouble finding a parking spot to pick up. The restaurant was packed on a Tuesday night so I can tell everyone loves Gianni's pizza. They have a good amount of inside seating. Plus I saw some large tables so I'm sure they could accommodate larger parties. Their pickup/wait area was kind of small but so worth it. When I placed my order over the phone it was a 45min wait for pick up. I feel like that is normal wait time. Would recommend! read more

Me and my spouse had taken a trip to Monterey. We had came across this restaurant and were very excited it was great parking and customer service was excellent. We had ordered fettuccine alfredo which came with garlic bread, 6 cheese bread sticks, and a large pepperoni pizza. We were amazed with their bread sticks and fettuccine but unfortunately the pizza was not very good nor had tasted authentic it had tasted like a store bought pizza. Very disappointed because "pizza" is in their name and the price was not equivalent to the quality of pizza. Other than that everything else was fantastic from the food to the service. read more

Decided to try this place while vacationing in Monterey due to all the great reviews. It was soooo good that we came another time the very next night. Lol I had the pepperoni pizza and it was great, they are not chintzy with toppings. There was so much delicious cheese. Then we shared the breadsticks which are huge and so good. They're fluffy almost like focacia bread and their seasoning is perfect. I ordered the marinara sauce at an additional cost and it was worth it for how big of serving it is. The 2nd night I had the calzone with pepperoni and without onions, pretty much a big delicious pizza empanda or turnover. They have a pretty good selection of gelato to try. I got 1 scoop with half Abba zabba and salted caramel. It was pretty good and the Abba zabba tasted just like the old candy bar. The service was good and pretty timely even on a Friday night and with them being very busy. This place is definitely up there with the best pizzas to be had. Wow! Mario was on point this NYE ! Very pleasant, polite, and nice! He helped me with my order and greeted me with such enthusiasm. The pizza was quality too which was exactly what my wife and I needed . He even helped me select PB gelato (which was amazing)..... you should try. It had chunks of chocolate goodness tucked inside. Also they had Very good line order process.... the whole shabangabang. These guys have it down to a T! AND per my usual, Automatic 1 star review for each and every business robbing customers by charging more to use a card. I, like many others came here out of town looking for some great pizza, looking at the reviews I see this was the place to go. Well it was if you wanted to slam yourself against 400 other people trying to get your pizza. The food was ok but I may be influenced by having to wait in line for 30 minutes to get my online order only to be yelled at by the staff that I was in the wrong line then having to get into the mobile pickup line. I was sure I ordered pizza but somehow I ended up at the DMV. After getting my pizza and cannoli I took it to my hotel. The pizza was just. Tad better than Pizza Hut and the cannoli would make a Nona faint. I'm no expert but I don't think the pastry cream is supposed to be gritty. Maybe they put sand in the cream to give it that beach feel. All in all it was overpriced but that's just me. read more

Monterey county is still not allowing dine in so we looked on YELP & read the reviews and ordered a pie & wings to go. We ordered ahead & it was ready when we arrived. The crust is delicious & the toppings were so tasty. We got the Meatzilla (pepperoni, sausage. Salami, Canadian bacon & languisa). The wings were very good too, we are very picky about sauces. I would have given except they need to improve their customer service on the phone. Not good I got spaghetti with meatballs the meatballs dried out, manager said they over cooked them did not offer anything. Found out they actually microwave their meatballs then put them in the sauce that's gross. read more

We come to Monterey usually several times a year. We always make sure Gianni's is on our itinerary. This place is BUSY but so worth it. Their bread sticks are huge and delicious with the warm marinara sauce. The pizza is delicious with stringy cheese and fresh toppings. We always make sure to get more than we will eat so we can take it home with us. Highly recommend. read more

Love this pizza spot however since the Owner sold it to another person and I think the owner changed once again the quality has gotten a bit different. There's still that small taste of Gianni's but nothing beats the original. I use to live in jackson heights and I use to eat from the actual owners store. I can say that it was awesome. I remeber I spoke with Mr. Giannis before he sold the store and told him that I traveled far to come eat his pizza. I remeber he was really touched by that. My family and I decided to give this place a try on our trip. We knew it was good by how packed it was when got there. I was confused on how to get started when I walked in but a regular at the restaurant gave me the run down which I appreciated. So you order first and then locate a seat on your own. We ordered the Xlarge double pepperoni pizza, mozzarella sticks, 3 giant garlic cheese breadsticks and meatballs with marinara sauce. The pizza was amazing. The kids really enjoyed it. They are the toughest critics lol. I expected more from the mozzarella sticks but they were ok. The meatballs were amazing! House made and very tender and great flavor. The breadsticks were also a huge hit with all of us! Great flavor, perfect amount of cheese and garlic. Overall a great experience at a great price point. We will be back! read more

Came in on a Sunday late afternoon after spending the morning at the aquarium. It was my first time here. Arrived to a half empty restaurant and no one to greet you. There were a couple employees walking around but no one said hello or stopped to explain its a self serving restaurant. You order at the counter and the food is delivered to your table. There is no menu displayed on the wall that I could see. There were a couple scattered menus near the cashiers counter. You have to grab your own plates, napkins, etc. Not a big deal just wish there was clear direction and friendlier staff. We ordered a large combo pizza. Pizza came after 10-15 minutes and it was good. Would I travel all the way back just for the pizza, no. But it was good enough that if I were in the area again I would stop in. Reason for the 4 stars is the lack of customer service but overall would recommend for families visiting the area who don't mind walking a couple blocks for some tasty pizza. read more

We are from South Orange County in Southern California. We ordered a few items from this pizza house which was so good. We will definitely keep them on our list for whenever we visit Monterey Bay again. We ordered their largest pizza. One half was just pepperoni and the other half had all veggies, pepperoni. The pizza, was was delicious! I also ordered a Cesar salad and the linguini with clams. My kids who don't eat either salad or clams, devoured the food. Safe to say we loved everything. read more

First time coming here. The cashier was spacing out whenever we would tell him what we wanted to order, had to repeat myself. So that was kinda a first impression. Seats and tables are kinda close together but we managed to find a spot to sit at. Spaghetti and mozzarella sticks came out first. Spaghetti had a sweet taste to it. Took a while for the pizza to get to our table. It was alright, grabbed the first slice and my cheese came off ha. The gelato was good but you couldn't really taste the white chocolate had a very strong raspberry flavor. Overall, just your average pizza place. Good food but nothing that stood out. read more

Service was fast and the staff, extra friendly and helpful. My daughter was bored and while they didn't have crayons, they got her blank paper and a pen. The salad was nothing special, bagged lettuce with a few toppings, but the pizza and breadsticks were good. Bathrooms clean. Will go back when in town again. read more

Well another place we found online and it had great reviews. And they all are true. Fantastic little jewel here and it can hold a bunch of people. Great appetizers, Great salads and their Pizzas are delicious!! We ordered 1 Ex Large Pepperoni and 1 Ez Large Anchovies Pizza. Went to pick up 2 pizzas and they had a tough time figuring out old gift cards. That's totally understandable. What is not understandable is the bored attitude of the manager. He could have cared less and barely spoke to us. When I thanked him he sort of grunted a thank you. I'm taking away a star, because customer service is still bad. read more
