I continued my day of shopping by heading up north to this area. I figured after picking up the last few items I would be able to cap off my day at the beach. But first, let me grab a few things. I was at another location, grabbed a majority of what I needed and decided that I would stop by here to grab the few things that weren't available. I quickly checked the lay of the land and started up and down the aisles. I kind of got lost in my head while in here even though this is one of the stores on the smaller side. Once I collected my items I went up front to use the self checkouts. The one good thing about this store is the connectiveness to other plazas. You don't need to make your way back out on the busy throughway to access other plazas on this side of the road/highway. read more

The absolute worst produce department anywhere in the area. Good pharmacy and decent lunch meat. Certainly not the "Super G" it used to be at all. Prices are not special. I heard this Giant was a dumping ground for their more important stores. Always need to check expiration date. They took away their butcher from I can gather and their seafood is iffy. read more

A large, clean supermarket with a great selection of products. Strong seafood, fresh produce, and butcher departments. Has a novel handheld scanner that lets you scan the barcode of each item you put in the cart. To checkout, the scanner is downloaded, pay and you're done in a fraction of the time. Ample parking. My wife has shopped Giant for years. We just moved here and couldn't believe the expiration dates on so many products. Bread, all the dry items and fresh items were expired in a day or 2 of expiration and some already expired? Not a good thing to sell customers. Be Aware of their expired dates on ALL food. It's still on the shelves. No more shopping here. read more

It was a trip down memory lane. Two years ago I used to be an Instacart shopper and would be in here all the time. The staff was always so helpful and working quickly to keep things stocked when the pandemic first hit. It was nice not having a time crunch to just walk around and shop today. We are here on vacation as we now live in Pennsylvania. I found everything I needed in the store looks great! Also got some shovels and a boogie board for the beach ... and popsicles! We are staying at a vrbo type place so needed a few things. Also my cashier was really friendly. He seem to have a been having a rough day and so I was talking to him. He shared how a couple people had called out but he still had a very positive attitude and a smile on his face. There was also a great selection of produce. The layout was so confusing. We walk into the produce and it is just overwhelming and crowded. The produce section was laid out a little weird. So I bought the red grapes 2 days ago and stored them in the fridge. I went to wash them this evening to have for my snack. After sifting through them, I had about 1/3 of a cup of them. Avoid them like the plague. As a traveling person to Delaware, the clerk was rude and unwilling to help us use a digital coupon to buy the grapes that I wanted. She said that a cashier wouldn't help me other apparently and you had to go to a customer service booth to sign up, than download an app. How ridiculous! If you've ever been inside a Stop and Shop, Giant Food is the same thing. The store is at first with a dark dirty floor, when you first walk in. However, after you walk 5 steps in the store, it's a very clean white store. That being said, I wasn't a huge fan of this store. Certain discounts were good like buy two packages of strawberries for $5. However, others seemed quite idiotic like buy 10 gatorades for $10, which seemed to be a bit much. I don't know anyone who gets 10 gatorades. The place has a wide produce section, and the fruit and veggies were fresh when I visited this storeI I found a gatorade in the cereal department, which I was going to put back, but there's too many aisles, and that's technically the employees job. The first half of the store are food items, and they pretty much have anything you want, but don't sell anything special. The second half of the store has cleaning supplies. That was a bit better, but I didn't really need much from that part of the store, so I didn't buy anything. Overall, good store, but only worth visiting once. read more

Super nice grocery store in Rehoboth Beach... I'd never been to a Giant before so I didn't know what to expect. The store is well organized and nicely stocked with a wide variety of items. Produce was especially nice, with an emphasis on locally grown items. The store had everything you would expect, including a good paperback and seasonal section. The prices are relatively low, given that Rehoboth is a beach town. What is especially nice about this store is the staff. They are extremely helpful and genuinely friendly and are a credit to the store manager. read more

Overall, it's an okay grocery store. Highlights include their deli (Boar's Head) and produce. The negatives are the butcher department. No matter how many times I buy beef from them, it's almost always bad. I can get ground beef that is supposedly packaged that very same day and it still smells off and makes me sick. Go there for the deli, but get your beef elsewhere. Also, be aware that there is always a long line for the deli section. Your best bet is to head straight for the deli kiosk, put in your order electronically, and hope that it's done by the time you finish shopping. read more

Overall I like this store, but the deli is HORRIBLE from May to Sept. I live here and shop in this store 52 weeks a year. When tourist season comes, the wait for the deli is minimum 45 minutes. I have waited an hour. I have tried using the kiosk to order, but order has never been ready when I am done shopping after 45min to 1 hour,that is when the kiosk is not out of order. The quality is good, and most employees are nice, but it is slower than slow. I am not on vacation. I don't have 2 hours to spend in the grocery store. Can't you do something to serve your customers better than this? I am done waiting an hour at your deli. Going to Millsboro from now on to get Boars Head cold cuts. read more

Just went into Giant for a few things and never have I ever been in a more crowded grocery store. You would think that since there is a pandemic going on and let along the Delaware beaches being hotspots right now that things would be different. You could not get into any aisles or even leave after self checkout because too many people blocking the exit. Many people were coughing non stop and causally strolling the aisles. Not the best bakery. Their cakes were limited and the decoration seemed rushed on the specialized cakes. I went in to find my sister a birthday cake. When I selected a cake, I asked the bakery workers to write a message. I told them what I wanted written and they took it back. It was very quick, however they wrote something different from what I had asked, the writing was messy and I was unable to make out some letters. When it was done, they put it back on the counter (but it was more like a toss) and the cake got smushed into the side of the lid. Why is it OK for some workers at the Rehoboth Beach store to NOT wear masks when patrons MUST wear masks? Attached is a photo of 2 stockers taken on 6/29/2020 at about 10:30 PM. The man on the right had a face mask around his neck but not near his nose or mouth. The man on the left had no mask at all. As I was checking out I noticed 2 more men from the back talking to the woman at the customer service desk. None of those people were wearing masks. This problem was noted on Yelp on 6/21. Great giant. Better than most. Cashier had a good sense of humor which was appreciated. Overall, pretty solid store.

My recommendation is by only packaged goods here. Their produce is absolutely HORRENDOUS to say the least... two nights ago I purchased assorted fresh fruit and tonight I went to eat it and it smells like sweaty feet!!!This is not the first time that I have come across issues with their produce. Two months ago I brought home strawberries and immediately opened up the package only to find mold all throughout the middle. This Giant food is generally decent. I would advise do not use the curb side pick up. I understand there is a COVID-19 problem but there was no warning about if they had it or not. They that DAY your supposed to pick up they put it in the bags. Since there is a wait time about a month and 3 weeks and no email no call to my house. the day before I discover they dont have it. Worst experience EVER! Last night my mother and I went to pick up a few things before heading back to our condo. My mother and I were in the milk section to get yogurt. There was a young man that had a cart behind my mother and this other older woman. Hopefully, thinking the young man would have moved the cart for my mother and the other woman. But he didn't. After my mom grabbed her items, I thought she would walk around the man but no. She tripped over the cart and fell face forward on the ground. I panicked and fell to her side, she was shaking like crazy. Other customers came to my mothers side but I told them that I wanted to handle it. The employee stocking just stood there staring then went back to stocking. He NEVER asked to help or did he apology for leaving his cart there. My mother is 58 years old and I was furious about his response. I was thankful I had taken classes on how to handle a hazard situation. I took her elbow and walked her over to customer service. I noticed her nose was bumped and bleeding. She was complaining about a headache. I told customer service about how leaving the cart in harms way and that was a hazard. The elderly woman at the customer service seemed a little concerned and asked if my mom wanted an ambulance. That was nice of her but she should have one called a manager and two offer for her to sit down. The young girl with her got my mom some ice and went back to doing her job. I was furious about this whole situation, she could have gotten hurt worse then she did. My dad was in the car and I called him to come in, he rushed in and I told him. I took him to the milk section and went over the whole situation. After that we walked back to my mother who was now in tears. My mother asked for a mangers card but the elderly lady insisted on taking down my mothers information. The woman disappeared to talk to the employee. So, my dad and I decided to pay for the little items we picked up before the whole accident. After my dad swiped his card and it said to wait for the attendant. We waited five minutes then the elderly woman that took down our info fixed the problem. I was so angry, she never said anything after, she helped my dad. My mother has bruises and a bruised bloody nose. And she couldn't stop crying. I mean for an employee not to move something out of the way that could be a hazard and for him not helping my mother is another thing. Seriously, dude! You need to be fired for that crap. My mother is now afraid to enter a grocery store now because of his stupid move. I'm furious that NO ONE from Giant bothered to call to check up and apology to my mother. I wish there was a red star for horrible experience because that's what I would give. This store obviously doesn't give two cents about what happened or they would have called. The worst place on earth. In a time of emergency we need people to step up, be honest, communicate, follow through and recognize we are all in this together. Placed a large curbside order the night before Passover. Got a call they wouldn't have it ready til after the 6-7 PM scheduled time, they would call. Come 8 PM no call and we called them and were told it was just finished. Sent my kids as I am a very vulnerable immunocompromised person who came home with a third of the order. Missing the most important parts for our Passover meal. It's now 9 PM call the store, nothing they can do all pickup spots are taken, they forgot to look at the rest of the order, too bad lady, etc, etc. I know it is a busy, chaotic time especially for grocery stores but all I asked for was honesty, tell me at 5 PM when you call you don't/can't/won't fill what we need so I can make other arrangements. You ruined our Seder in a time when it is so important to hold on to our faith and our traditions without even an "I'm sorry we did the best we could". It was my fault? Please explain how. If you aren't/can't/won't fill orders then tell people and don't advertise you are. Shame on you Giant! read more

When to buy a few items, red grapes were moldy, not just one bag but quite a bunch. Out dated items on the shelf and have quite a few holes where items were¦ rootbeer barrels, spearmint starlite candys, seafood department always smell fishy, like it's not being clean properly.
