Horrendous experience. Overpriced with laughably small portions. I got the smoked chicken plate, and it was more like beef jerky - dry, tough, and flavorless. The cornbread was chalky, and the mac and cheese was dry with almost no cheese (and somehow still the best thing on the plate). The bbq is good, the dining area is ample and the atmosphere is cleanly, bright, and has lots of TVs for sports. The staff are friendly and helpful and, for bbq, the prices are reasonable. The bbq restaurant is hidden off the main road a hot and obscured by a tourist souvenir shop. We went for a late lunch, early dinner and got the chicken, the brisket and nachos. All were good. The chicken was a little dry but still tasty with the original sauce. The brisket was good with the signature sauce. The nachos were at least as good as the nachos at Don Betos across town. We ate at Giff's last week during a brief stay in Kanab. The chicken and ribs were very good, the beans were good. The mac and cheese wasn't good and the cornbread was weird. I can't understand how an obviously baked piece of cornbread could have the very off-putting taste of raw dough. It was inedible. There were TVs on three walls, all playing sports, and multiple ceiling fans producing a strobing effect due to the lighting on them. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant. We had ribs and brisket. The ribs do fall of the bone. The brisket was moist. Great food. The pepper ribs are spicy. No table service, just order. People were nice. It is inside an antique/ museum/ bbq. Casual atmosphere. read more

When in Kanab this is the place to eat at. I love the brisket and my all time favorite is the peanut butter brisket sandwich. I know I know I made that face too but it is soooooo good. I love burnt ends so it is nice to get the burnt ends mixed in with my brisket sandwich. Very generous portions and friendly quick service. I love the Mac and cheese too and Carolina bbq. The ribs have a great flavor with pepper on them they are good to I am just not a rib fan in general. All in all it is made fresh daily and not coming from a can or a box and it taste as such, so fresh. Also, you can bring your dog into the restaurant which is pretty cool...many places will not allow it whether a service dog or not...of course, respectfully they ask for you to sit at the front of the room tables away from the food which is understandable. I understand there are Health laws that need to be followed...no one wants dog hair in their food. Anyway 10 out of 10 would recommend. read more

I'm always a bit suspect of barbecue places while on the road. We stopped at Giff's and were pleasantly surprised by the place. The restaurant is sort of cafeteria style but have a nice selection of barbecue options. My wife had the brisket and chicken plate and she received a generous portion of food for the price. She enjoyed her meal. I ordered the cowboy plate and enjoyed my meal. There were several choices of sauces and we enjoyed each. My only complaint was that the rub on the brisket had too much black pepper. read more
