Being from New York I know when a claim of New York Style pizza is legit. The hardest part is the crust because New York has soft water and So Cal has hard water. The result is that breads are different and GiGi's pizza dough ain't New York pizza dough. I'll let that slide because New York Style isn't New York Pizza. The three stars is because my pie was burnt on top while the bottom crust was not crisp at all. It should be the other way around. Crisp bottom snd a gooey, cheesy top. The service at Gigi's is always excellent. Good people who are good at their jobs and clearly love what they do. The pizza is fantastic, I do seriously wish they delivered but I make the drive over to pick up pizza. We have had every single pizza they make. BBQ chicken, Hawaiian, and Pepperoni are our favorites. But the thing I love about this business is how they support the community. They give a free pizza to every kid at North Torrance Little League who hits a home run. They have done it for several years now. It's a great tradition for our kids and community. read more

I've never ordered a whole pizza here but the individual slices are always tasty and piping hot. The Buffalo wings are meaty and juicy. I wasn't that jazzed about the spaghetti and cheesy garlic bread but that's ok. A slice is a good meal on its own. I'm glad I tried GiGi's. I will be back! read more

My new pizza place. The dough is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. We had pepperoni, sausage ( love this kind) and mushrooms. Yum! We also got the garlic bread which YOU HAVE TO GET!! I don't know if they make the dough or they have a spot they get it from but it's amazing. That's all. And the wings, also yummy. Great customer service. The place looks clean. Only outdoor sitting with a patio area that you can rent. I don m't know what else to say, just go try it and you can thank me later. read more

I've been coming to this spot since the late 80's when it was Bonellos, and it's just as delicious now as it was then.

My go to pizza spot and conveniently located next to school which is definitely a plus in my book The cheese is like no other, quality over quantity! The pizza is to the T not too thin not too thick it's just right. My favorite is pineapple and pepperoni but there are many varieties to choose from and wings are served !! I'm so glad I'm a student at el camino because I was able to stumble upon this gem. I've never had authentic NY pizza but this is what I would assume it should taste and look like. Well, maybe that's a bit too much to presume. The pizza is not too thin or too thick and has just enough crisp in every bite. Prices aren't that bad but on my budget I can barely afford a slice and a drink. The salads are a must have; they're simple but go great with the pizza. I've been coming to Bonellos since I've attend El Co... Back in the day. I used to come here and get the specials with an extra order of mushroom pizza. We just recently went back and found out the owner retired and it's call Gigi's now. We ordered a half mushroom and Hawaiian pizza. The pizza pretty much tastes the same from what I remember. I like that it's thin but not to thin and the put a lot of mushrooms on the pizza. The staff is always nice and friendly. I'll definitely be coming back when I get that craving again. read more

Really tasty NY style pizza, thin with super crisp bottoms. BUT don't sleep on the sandwiches! Try the meatball sliders (flavorful and come on sweet Hawaiian buns!) or eggplant parmigiana (very saucy and cheesy, so good). Order ahead by phone if you're getting a hot sandwich since these can be a little bit of a wait, since they're made to order. Folks here are nice too, never had a bad encounter. So, something wildly inappropriate happened last week. "What's new" you say. See, I only have one hour between the end of work and school. There's not too many choices aside from mcdonald's and del taco. I don't usually eat pizza cuz it's not considered a cute* food. *cute foods = things you can fit cleanly in your mouth. i.e cubed apples, chicken nuggets, etc. You don't want to look sloppy in front of strangers. Yuck. Anyway, I was starving and I decided on the combo special - mushroom pizza + salad + soda. This cute boy next to me said, "Let me get that for you." Being the lady I graciously accepted. He paid for my food and said, "Can I walk you to class?" I said, "Well, i want to eat in my car first." and off we went..... In my car. Me: oh man. this pizza is so good. they didn't skimp on the mushrooms! look at the cheeeese! yummy!!!! the salad is kinda wack. do you want it? Boy: *laughs* no. you eat like a six year old. Me: that's not nice! (still gorging on pizza.. it's huge. a little greasy but the crust is still crispy) Boy: Do you take classes here every Monday? Me: *mouth stuffed with pizza* uh huh. Boy: We should do this every week. I take classes here after real school. Me: *mouth stuffed with pizza* huh? Boy: you know. high school. I'm a sophomore. Me: ........... Boy: Is that a problem? I just asked my HIH/HRH bf how many stars to give them and he is picky (and he has a Jesus gift to be able to detect deceit in people and pics) and he says, "I'd give them 5 stars here. I like the service, the workers, and the food is good. good pizza. I'm going to get my 3rd slice. I just inhaled 2 and didn't even feel it." (I'm laughing he is honest and funny). and me: I agree 5 stars. I like their patio sets looking classy and clean as well as their pizza is yummy. I love being able to taste the tomato sauce and how crispy their pizzas are here! price is good too! affordable! I can't understand anyone yelping them with one stars and their review saying their pizzas taste disgusting and cheap quality ingredients. as if you can make a better pizza than these people here. I really don't think so! do us all a favor and go home and make your own pizza because what you say about their pizza here is not even true. and others saying they're skimpy with their toppings here. I can understand why they're skimpy because why would anyone want more toppings and not think that there needs to be enough for other customers too. not just you. it's called not being selfish and thinking of others too. I mean come on, when you expect more toppings on your pizza(s), are you really just feeding yourself or anyone else with you like you, yourself, and you? can you get anymore selfish? smh. and ny pizza to be greasy, chewy, and foldable to eat however you want to like what they do in ny, well, newsflash, this is cali and you can still do that here with these pizzas and even tear them into chunks to eat. be thankful you have something to eat. there are so many countries out there that wish they can eat your pizzas from here but instead they don't have that luxury and look for food in trash cans and within their own home of just plain bread and rice. that's it with their meals. so who are you to complain about your pizzas here? you can hand over your pizzas to me since you don't like them and I can sure give to those poor countries. they would definitely be a lot more thankful and humble with the pizzas here. that's for sure. anyway, they have a really good location here across from a school and next to a church. who doesn't love pizza? pizza is american's number 1 favorite food according to the news. says my hunky HIH/HRH bf. :) on top of all that, we are getting a large of 8 slices more to take home with each of us. haha! that's how savory ny style pizza is! been eating this kind of pizza with my HIH/HRH parents since I was a child. :) the 2 workers here are so pleasantly nice. this place was owned by an Italian guy for 30 plus years and decided to sell to a business Canadian guy. so he can retire. I had a prior Jesus Holy Spirit (like I always daily do) feeling the new owner is not here to cook the pizzas while the former owner was here and even taught the workers how to cook everything too. hehe read more

Ah... a chance to update one of the first Yelp reviews I ever belted out. Remembering back to those days (14 months is an eternity in Yelp-time), I was happy and carefree... super excited to be around and Yelp the world. It's kind of like when you're a kid. I remember riding around El Camino College on our BMX bikes as punk arse kids, getting chased by campus security, and wolfing down Bonello's Pizza. It's been over 20 years since those days, but the same guy is still running Bonello's and still making those delicious pizza pies. I got lucky today as work had me running an errand in Gardena... perfect time for a time travel daydream induced food coma from the 2 slice & salad combo. =) $7 including tax will get you two gigantic slices, side salad, and a drink.
