I almost skipped Gilded Unicorn because of some rough online reviews claiming poor service and being ignored. Honestly? That wasn't our experience at all. It was a packed Friday night, and our table along with the ones around us was fully taken care of. Service was attentive, food came out in a reasonable time, and the atmosphere never felt rushed or neglected. Always glad when a place proves the comments wrong. What We Ordered: * Loaded Deviled Eggs * Bocce Rolls * Crispy Wings (Jalapeño Honey) * Parm Crusted White Fish * Gold Burger * Mexican Express * Unicorn Drop * Berry Lemon Cake Cozy comfort, strong cocktails, and a vibe that does the heavy lifting.

We had some of the best meals ever in Spokane here! Love the magical retreat down the stairs to a Speakeasy prohibition vibe! This place doesn't disappoint!

If you're ever in Spokane, this place is an entire vibe. Worth the parking hassle (it's hard to find parking on a Saturday night, but what else is new?) to visit for a cocktail. Not ADA (there's a set of stairs to go down and no elevator -- it's in an older building. Follow the signs and head down the stairs...and you'll find yourself in a high-ceiling cellar-like space that is somehow both cosy and spacious at the same time. Love the brick walls and the chandeliers. The loaded deviled eggs were impressive to behold and good to eat; the whipped potatoes were under whelming. The banana peanut dessert was rich and enjoyable with a pint of beer. Friends had cocktails, including an Old Fashioned, that were well-appreciated. Only regret was that we had already eaten dinner, so we were too full to have more than just bites and dessert and drinks, b/c the people next to us looked like they were eating delicious meals. Barkeeper was thoughtful and service was prompted and attentive. Definitely looking forward to a return visit.

We had dinner at the gilded unicorn this week and it was delicious and fun! It was very busy during the to Inlanders restaurant week. Our server was fantastic! This restaurant is in a cavern type catacombs setting. I had the chicken schnitzel and Caesar salad. The food was great! The drinks are also wonderful! There are nonalcoholic options as well. I highly recommend the Gilded unicorn for dinner and drinks!

The atmosphere was very spectacular! The descend down the stairs into the cellar makes it feel like you travel through time. Great service and great food perfect for a date night. A little too pricey for us, but well worth it.

I've never not finished a meal in my life. Salad was full of gross rotten lettuce and I asked for balsamic but received a container each of oil and a container of vinegar - not mixed. The gnocchi was actually inedible - like gummy and hard to swallow. Drink was good but for $15 at least make it pretty and put a garnish in it. I cannot believe I just spent $60 and ate maybe 10 bites between the salad and 'gnocch'.

I was excited to try this place because the decor and ambiance were so stylish and moody. Happy hour is definitely a must, because while portions are smaller, you still get to try all the things. I ordered an $8 berries and cream soda, which was ok, but not worth an $8 price tag, but I understand. Opted for the deviled eggs and bocce rolls and I gotta say, unfortunately, I wasn't impressed by either. Both were okay and edible but the rolls lacked any garlic flavor and the deviled eggs just didn't hit. An ok overall stop. Service was friendly.

The food is absolutely delicious! We went once before and I remember the pork chop was perfectly cooked. This time I had the crusted white fish and it was perfect! Fish is something I can be picky about but this was expertly cooked. We also ordered the bread rolls as an appetizer and I recommend the guada dip over the marinara. The ambiance is super unique and lovely for date night. The wait wasn't too long and service was attentive. Can't wait to go back.

    Cool dungeon vibe!

You could easily (and maybe have...) walk past it and not even know. I found my way in and was faced with a dark room and a wonderfully lit display of liquors. They infuse many of their own and offer flights of infused whiskeys. The drink menu has options that feature many different spirits. I chose a gin and citrus drink that was a wonderful blend of bitter and refreshing. I made myself sip it slowly, but it was tasty enough that I could have thrown it back. The bar tender was friendly and attentive, as well as knowledgeable. The room seemed to be recovering from the recent Hoopfest...there were coolers and some things in the back of the space. There were also a LOT of bottles on the counter behind the bar. I don't know if it is always like this, but I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would definitely go back for the drink and to show it off to friends.

Most recently, on a Friday evening around 7 PM, my party was seated near the end of the bar by the restroom area. A server approached me in a confrontational manner and told me to move my chair because it was blocking the walkway. I immediately complied and moved it where he directed. Despite that, he repeatedly pushed and squeezed past the chair in an aggressive way several times afterward and then returned to confront me about it again. The interaction felt hostile, unnecessary, and unprofessional. Unfortunately, this wasn't an isolated incident. On a previous visit, a female server was rude and controlling toward our table, and on another occasion when we were unhappy with a menu item, the response was essentially, "You ordered it, you pay for it," with no attempt to address the concern professionally. The atmosphere is great, which is why we've continued to come back. However, after several visits involving rude and confrontational interactions with staff, it feels more like an ongoing culture issue than a one-time bad experience. I don't expect special treatment, but I do expect basic courtesy and respect. Hopefully management takes these concerns seriously and works to improve the customer experience.

A deeper dive showed a good possibility of gluten free options, so I made the reservation. I was in town on a Monday, just after Hoopfest, but they were the kind of busy where a reservation should always be made I think. My table was ready and I sat in the bar at a high top table. I think I would choose "in the dining room" next time. My server was friendly and quick, as well as knowledgeable about gluten free options. There is even a separate menu that lays out the dishes that are already gf or could be made to be. Love this, always. I ordered the summer salad to start. It was amazing. Flavorful. Fresh. The mint wasn't overpowering, the watermelon was the perfect ripeness. It was so good. I would try to recreate it but it was done so well, and I know I couldn't hit that dressing in the same way. Get it while you can. For my main, I had ordered the scallops in my brain before I even arrived. The risotto was a little soupy, but the flavor was SO good. The corn came through and it went so well with the scallops. The tomatoes were quite over salted, but as long as I didn't eat them alone, it was alright. The scallops were perfectly cooked and I felt like the portion was appropriately sized for the dish, even though there were only 4. My server really made the experience enjoyable. The atmosphere was busy but the booths looked like they could be cozy. The prices were on the higher end. But for a special occasion, it was worth it. I really wished I'd had room for dessert. I will surely go back the next time I am in town.

First off, I was looking for an authentic Napoli style pizza. Like a fresh red sauce from crushed tomatoes and a beautiful chewy, pillowy, yet charred crust. The verdict: Wooden City is the winner! The crust is really really good! The sauce is a bright beautiful tomato sauce that looks like crushed tomatoes however, the sauce was lacking flavor:( I would give this pizza a 3 out of 5. The crust is a 4 1/2 star but the sauce lacking in flavor..brought it down to a 3. Cute place, very pleasant friendly staff..way friendlier vibe than Barrelhouse. The boys are easy on the eyes for younger girls on the hunt! Lmao Don't bother with the Margherita pizza at Barrelhouse. Thank God I only paid $12 for the Margherita Monday deal of half off! The crust was horrible! Dominos has better crust! Costco pizza's had a better crust! The sauce has flavor, very garlicky like fresh garlicky but more of a paste with a load of oregano in it. The cheese didn't have that fresh taste I was hoping for. However, they are known for their Detroit pizza's which I haven't tried but if it's the same sauce, I would pass. Not saying it's bad but it's just not MY cup of tea whether it's for a Detroit style or any pizza. Now you don't have to guess which place has a better Margherita pizza. I wouldn't even pay $12 at Barrelhouse for a marg. Would I come back, yes, if I were in my 20's.. lol but since I'm older and the food is more important to me...no...:/ But hey, maybe their other pizza's are better! I can see a salty pepperoni being good!
