    Grilled beef tika
    Lia B.

Service is very uneven. I think it was a language barrier because it took 3 separate requests to get water that was ordered with the meal. Red tashreeb was served without pickles and onion. Restaurant was clean and nicely decorated. Husband loved his mixed grill. The beef tika was good. However, the grilled tomato was charred and the onion was way under cooked. Qamar was very tangy and sweet.

Great casual neighborhood spot. All the food was fresh and flavorful. We started with appetizer where we picked 6. The eggplant salad was very tasty. I ordered the half order of chicken tawook for my entree and it was plenty. Don't eat there if in you are in a rush. It's a nice spot to sit down and enjoy dinner.

We drove an hour to try this restaurant, it was ok - I am giving them the benefit of the doubt and assuming it was an off day or they were short staffed. It took over 30 minutes to get our drinks (after our food had started arriving). Keep in mind, the drinks we were waiting for were bottled water and canned soda, nothing that should take more than 5 mins to grab. Multiple other customers were getting frustrated that they didn't have drinks, I saw one customer get up and get it themselves from behind the counter. There were multiple dishes we ordered that never arrived and no acknowledgement of this from the waitress. The waitress never checked on us. The dolmas, baba ganoush, and lamb were great. The falafel was pretty bland and the garlic sauce was lacking garlic flavor. It was also very hot and we were swatting flies the whole time. Will probably not be back, but wish them well!

Fantastic experience! We went to celebrate my stepsons birthday and we all loved the food. Everything came out juicy and fresh. Lemonade is made from scratch also. Can't wait to go back and try more! The leftovers reheated well also.

We stopped by Gilgamesh on a weekday afternoon. They serve a complimentary soup which is yummy. While I really enjoyed my food, my fiance was not a fan of his. I did a mixed grill half order. It comes served with a giant fresh piece of pita with rice and middle eastern style pickles . All of it was delicious . My fiance on the other hand got one of their shawarma sandwiches - he was not a fan of the seasoning and the fact that it was cooked in lamb fat. The waiter was kind enough to make him a different one, but it does have a very distinct flavor . It's worth checking out in my opinion

Tried Gilgamesh for the first time and loved it! It's a casual Mediterranean spot serving Iraqi dishes, and everything we ordered was so good. We started with the eggplant salad--such a solid vegetarian option, loaded with tomatoes, peppers, onions, and topped with pomegranate molasses. For the main, I got the Shish Tawook (chicken skewers) and my boyfriend got the Mix Grill so we could try a little bit of everything. The lamb was my favorite. It was super tender and flavorful. Everything came with rice, grilled veggies, and pickles. Also, don't skip the Iraqi tea! Service was fast and friendly. Will definitely be back when I'm craving grilled meats and cozy comfort food.

Food was on point till I tried their lamb chops. It was small and not cooked well. The mix grill , beef kebabs and fish grill was moist and well flavored . The flat bread that comes is ordinary. You get a complimentary soup which was good. The sever was very cordial and welcoming.

I felt like I was transported to Asia, which I loved! Chill setting with warm welcome. Our server was attentive and the food was flavorful. We got the mixed grill and it could easily feed 4 people. I loved that delicious bread and aromatic soup are included.

Came here randomly yesterday because it was close to the coffee shop I was at. There is plenty of seating with chairs and booths and the food was delicious! We were given some soup right when we sat down and the service made us feel right at home! The server recommended we get the meat bbq mix so that we could try all of the flavors of meat and I highly recommend that! The bread with hummus and baba ghanoush was also delicious, would definitely come again for some tummy Mediterranean food!

The lamb quzi was delicious especially since the rice was flavorful and the lamb was flavorful and tender to the point that it easily falls off the bone. However, the bread and the stew was just alright.

Afrah is THE place to be for Mediterranean food - before Greenville Ave became Arab central, before there was anyone, there was Afrah. A beautiful, airy restaurant with gorgeous seating, a bustling dessert case, ice cream center and so many treats to offer under one roof. Afrah is to the Muslim community in Richardson as a glove is to a hand. It truly is a one stop shop for all your nostalgic cravings, and it would be a grave injustice on my part if I didn't stop by here and sing praise to one of the most loved Mediterranean restaurants in the DFW area. We visited here recently for an iftar buffet experience and were very very happy with the food we got. The buffet line was running smoothly, from staff working diligently to hand everyone a tray with napkins, plates and cutlery already set for you. Waiters were going around the massive dining hall clearing plates, making sure everyone had what they needed, seating patrons and asking if everything tasted good. This establishment runs like a literal well oiled machine and I am so impressed. The food was as always out of this world. Carefully prepared menu that satisfies everyone's taste buds. A good selection of classic cold appetizers like the baba ghanoush, hummus, and variety of salads. Always including something unique for a typical Middle Eastern flare. Hot lentil soup available with bowls carefully placed in the vicinity. So many different types of kebabs and freshly made hot pita bread being replaced like clockwork. The buffet had many of my favorite classics like Shawarma meat, beef kebab, chicken kebab. Lamb, chicken stew, baked chicken, everything was present in abundance. They even had salmon which I deeply appreciated as a seafood lover. My only complaint is the food wasn't hot enough which can be annoying with a buffet that is serving so many people during a busy time like Ramadan. Everything tasted absolutely phenomenal and when I returned for dessert, I was greeted with six different types of sweets from all over the world. That's the thing about this place. There's always something for everybody. The dining hall was bustling with not just Muslim patrons, but also a lot of American white patrons who equally enjoy the food here as much as we do. Inclusions of dishes like shrimp pasta, fried fish, chocolate mousse, and other fan favorites is a humble nod to non-Arab customers who love to frequent this place as much as we do. If you are looking for a quality Mediterranean experience look no further than this long-standing Mediterranean Haven. Thank you for nourishing the community.

What is great about this is that the initial room is great for placing your order, looking at the menu, chatting with the staff, paying, and waiting around for your food to come out. The next room over is great for finding a seat, relaxing, and eating without being jostled by people coming and going. Food was pretty good. I forgot to specify the bread wrap, so my sandwich was more like panini than a shawarma. My husband was less than enthralled. He wasn't a fan of the lamb mix, but that is to be expected as he didn't grow up with it and hasn't learned to acquire a taste for it. Staff are really friendly here. Food comes out quickly and remains hot on the way home.
