The worst experience ever, I placed a to go order over the phone and the girl that took my order didn't get it right, not only that the crunch roll tasted refrigerated and the tempura was old. I called to reorder and they made me another order. The owner said the person that took your order misunderstood and you owe me a dollar. Then she was upset that I mentioned her food was refrigerated. I didn't have a dollar with me and would not give me the food. Mmmm my favorite sushi spot in Temecula! I always hit this place up before I go to Costco and it is so freakin amazing. First of all the staff is very friendly the food is very fresh and they have lots of great rolls. My only complaint about this place is that I always eat to much because everything is super good. In terms of service, this place is subpar. I ordered a roll that was supposed to have avocado, asparagus, crab, and fish; the roll arrived with only crab and fish. We told the waitress that the roll was incorrect, and she said, "these are old menus; the roll no longer comes with avocado or asparagus." I was flabbergasted. How can an establishment justify giving customers items that they did not order? The roll I received is not the roll I wanted, and the waitress neither offered to fix the roll to match what I ordered nor took the roll back and adjusted my bill. I'm addicted to the king Salmon roll and I love that it's on the all you can eat menu. They have amazing servers and great customer service. They are also super fast when bringing out the rolls and seating you even when they look busy. The sushi is fresh, they have a lot of variety and their all you can eat menu is straightforward and easy to see the rolls that are available and what's not. It be nice if their menu had a few pictures of the rolls, but that might interfere with how straightforward the menu is now. I also just may not have seen the pics as I only looked at all you can eat. My son had a chicken teriyaki bowls and it looked and smelled yummy and he gobbled it up. I suggest you try the jalepeno bomb, shrimp boat, and the king salmon, and king tuna. There's another one with soy paper and only two pieces That is really good but I'm not sure the name, starts with an S. The other thing I appreciate about their all you can eat is that a lot of the rolls are on the smaller side like 2-4pieces so you can get more variety and not stuff your self on full size rolls constantly. read more

I was looking forward to eating Pho with my family and saw this sushi place instead. We thought it was going to be good because they have 4.5 stars, but boy were we wrong! California roll and Shrimp Tempura was not as good as Umai Sushi. The shrimp tempura was just all batter. This place also offers all-u-can- eat, which worked out because my husband was hungry. The 1st round was such little portions, it was a teaser for him. So the 2nd round he ordered more items. It took long just to get that 2nd order in and the waitress practically ignored the fact that he was ready to put his order in. He got his order in spurts and each time he said the food quality was not good at all and no flavor. Gin sushi shouldn't offer all u can eat if they don't want to serve good sushi each round. They charge more than Manna BBQ but their food quality and service was awful!!! Not worth my $60 and didn't want to leave a tip, but that's not the type of person we are. read more

This review is for our first and only visit to this place. The food was good, the service was just okay. We ordered 2 all-you-can-eat lunch specials. First we asked if their scallops were raw. The waitress told us they were cold like the other fish, not backed. I don't think they know what raw scallops are because when we got our order they were cooked. We asked for a small bowl of teriyaki chicken, I asked how big it was and the waitress said its small enough for my daughter to eat. So I ordered. I get this huge bowl full of rice and chicken only to find out that the girl assumed the bowl was for my daughter. She's only 2! I'll quickly add that it took a while to get our orders, and at the end we were charged the dinner price. We arrived 10-15mins before 3pm (when their lunch specials are over) and we were told we were still okay to get the special.When I brought it up to the waitress (which was a new one because the other one left) she said "no, you got here after 3pm". We of course told her that was not accurate and to double check, She took the check along with our credit card and the owner came back with our receipt showing the charge for the dinner price. I went in to use the rest room and possibly get a bite to eat. As I left the restroom, I nodded to an employee and said "Thanks", and he replied, "Next time, use the restroom at KMart, the restrooms were for customers only". I said there wasn't any signage posted. He then proceeded to talk with me in a threatening and abusive manner before telling me, "Get the fuck out of here". My opinion is that he has addressed customers in this manner before, typical bully behavior. It seemed as though he was attempting to provoke me into a physical confrontation over this. I offered my hand in an apology, he refused to shake. I then said this will make an interesting write up for Yelp, he didn't care. I considered getting something to eat or drink, but this guy seemed like the kind that my spit on my food or drink anyway. It is obviously a family owned business, so a complaint to the manager would most likely fall on deaf ears. The food might be good, I don't know. I do know that any restaurant that allows an employee to treat a potentional customer in this manner needs to reevaluate their customer service policies. Or put a sign in front stating that rest rooms are for customers only. Had I seen a sign, I would have at least bought a drink to go. read more

This is one of our favorite places to go! While I actually do not eat seafood, my boyfriend loves sushi and seafood. I usually end up getting the spare ribs, however this place does't have that item, I love their Pork katsu.Some places make it very dry since pork tends to dry out since it's fried. My boyfriend loves the sushi here and the fact that their all you can eat sushi is anything on their menu, not a select bunch. The restaurant is family owned and they are all very friendly. We highly recommend this place if you're looking for some good sushi (not that I would know!) but I'll take my boyfriends word for it. I was a regular at Gin for years, brought family and friends alike. The servers knew me for Pete's sake; however, the owner is a rude and callous women who does not listen to her customers. They charged my card and it showed the money pulled, our server came back and said that the card was never ran and the money never came out, I was confused and showed him my bank account showing the 55.00 charge being taken out. He said that everyone was good to go so my cousin and I started to walk out. The owner yelled at us about how we needed to pay? I assumed she wasn't aware of the conversation I had with our server so I explained it all to her. She kept yelling at me about how I didn't pay, I told her the money has came out of my account and I even showed her my bank account. I explained to her that I didn't feel comfortable allowing her to swipe my card again and that if the charges reversed I would be back to pay it. She yelled at me to leave my card with her and I flat out said no and then I started to get angry. I told her I was here multiple times a month and she knows me and my whole family. I have come in to off site market for my work and she has even come into my work and that I do not mind giving her all my information but my card. I even said I would wait at the restaurant to see if the transaction cleared and pay. Again she kept telling me I was trying to get a free meal and yelled at me. At that point people were offering to pay for my food to which I, politely, told them no it was paid for. I eventually walked out due to her horrible attitude and the way she treated me. I checked my bank account and saw the money was back in my account about 30 minutes later. I walked right in and told her she can charge me now. You could tell she felt dumb, she kept saying I should I explained that to her and she wouldn't have been so mad... uh, lady I did explain to you. I am sad, this was my go to place but I refused to step foot in this establishment or give her my money. Worst possible customer service ever experienced! My wife ordered a very simple 15pc salmon sashimi to go and was given assorted sashimi. When she called to speak to a manager, the boy who answered the phone said he was the manager and owner and refused to correct the order. When she asked for his name, he hung up on her. I have worked in customer service for 25 years and this is without a doubt the WORST experience of customer service I have ever had. Unbelievable how we were just treated here...at the owner's hand nonetheless. If I could leave a negative number of stars I would. We sat down and were given a menu to order along with a yellow menu to mark off my husband's all-you-can-eat items. My husband asked our waitress if the yellow menu was to order the all-you-can-eat from. She confirmed with a "yes" and told him that anything was available. Food was great and the service was pretty good, too...up until the end. When we got our bill, they charged us individually for each item, rather than all-you-can-eat price of 24.95. We brought it to the attention of the employees, including the female owner. She stated that it was our fault that we filled out the wrong menu. She informed us that we should have filled out a white menu, rather than the yellow menu we were given. We explained that we never got a white menu and she shot back, "my employees are all trained. They would have given you the correct menu." I explained once again that we were told to fill out the yellow menu and how was it our fault that we were given the wrong menu? She did not budge at all. We just paid over $62.00 for what should have been $24.95. The worst part? We have frequented this place for years...even our waitress recognized us as regulars. I don't know if the owner is gouging her patrons because she needs extra holiday cash or what, but I am beyond disgusted, furious, and astonished at the way we were treated.
