A small group of us had dinner here on a recent Friday night. We had originally wanted ramen next door but their line was too long and because it was a cold, blustery night... we actually preferred to dine indoors. Gindi Thai to the rescue. Nice, clean, light space with a very nice looking outdoor dining deck on the side. We approached the host to see if they had a table of 4 available. It wasnt too packed inside at the time. She asked us for our vaccination cards and told us it would be about 10 minutes before our table was ready. I liked that they actually checked our vaccination cards against our photo IDs. I can appreciate that. I'm sure it's not their favorite thing to do. We had no problem with it. We ordered a variety of dishes. Gindi Thai is different in that it has a sushi bar inside it as well. That was pretty cool. Our group ordered both Thai & Japanese dishes. We ordered The Four Diplomats ($17) which consists of chicken satay, corn fritters, curry dumplings & california roll. I liked this appetizer. The corn fritter was really good. I've never had that before. The chicken satay was good as well. The california roll was tasty... We also got chicken pad thai ($15) and it was a good one. We all dug into that. We ordered thai fried rice ($14) which consists of egg, onions, tomatoes & scallions. It was good fried rice. Tasty. I ordered for myself unagi nigiri ($6)... Eel is a favorite of mine and this was real good. Also ordered was shishito tempura ($9.50) which comes with bonito flakes and sweet & sour ponzu. The vegetarian in our group ordered a veggie roll sushi & an order of crispy spring rolls ($8). She was a happy customer. We also ordered curry a trois ($23) which has chicken yellow curry, tofu panang curry & beef green curry. This comes with a bowl of steamed rice. Our table liked this selection of curries.... Oh boy imagine finding an eatery and in less than A week we're back. This is Thai and with a sushi bar and great sushi/sashimi to boot. We had chicken larb that had an exquisite taste a bit in the spicy side. Ok, so I first discovered this place when I started my new job; which was 3 years ago. My team would come here a lot! I love Thai food and sushi and was pleasantly surprised this place carried both options. My go to Thai dish from any Thai restaurant is the chicken pad see ew. Love the flavors and taste. This is definitely my favorite Thai food. Therefore, you bet I ordered it from here and it was great! I've had it many times and it satisfies my craving. I have noticed they have changed their packaging though. It now comes in a round container (similar to ramen takeout). I also get some sushi sometimes. Recently I ordered the spicy tuna on crispy rice. It came with avocado and was 4 slices. Delicious. Their cucumber salad is also very good, love the taste and it's refreshing to me. However it is in a much smaller container. This time around I got their seaweed salad to try. It was my first time ordering this salad. Good Thai food! The price of the food is a bit pricier. The dish the food comes out in gives an illusion that the dish is very small, but the plate has like a deep column. The quality of food is there, but could use some stronger or more intense flavors that I have at other Thai restaurants. Overall, the portion is still on the smaller side. This was our first time at Gindi Thai, but definitely not the last one. It's a cute, elegant place and has a very nice atmosphere inside . It's a great place to go with your friends, date night and family ( not little children though). The food is very tasty and vey good quality and the prices are very reasonable! They have a full bar and we ordered lychee martini and old fashion and we both loved our drinks. The service is amazing. They are very attentive to their guests. Annie the manager is always around to be sure everything is great!!! She is very welcoming and nice with a kind smile. Definitely recommending this place, and coming back every month. I can't believe it's been 10 years since I first reviewed this place but we've been a couple of time in the past month or so and it's still solid. During covid, they constructed a really nice outdoor deck that is pretty comfortable. When indoor seating opened up, they began to offer 1/2 of their dining space, so it there is an indoor option but it is pretty small. They have some very good, creative cocktails and a full bar to offer classics and basics, as well. Beer, wine and sake are all options, too. Food is still really good but can sometimes be a bit salt forward. Not overbearing, but certainly too heavy. Love their soups, very nice, fresh sushi and some delicious fish dishes. This is to me a fresh and light take on Thai food and the quality of the sushi it's really excellent. We had our dinner delivered + I am super impressed! I ordered the Seared Scallops with Snow Peas + Jasmine Rice paired with a refreshing Thai tea with no ice. I honestly have zero complaints. I would probably order it with no onions in the future if I were to pay attention to that detail but I just push them to the side. I did order my scallops at medium heat which was perrrfect and honestly pretty spicy. It leaves a little lingering tingle in your mouth after you take a break between bites if you're watching a movie but it's in no way overwhelming. Yelp was on point with another recommendation (thanks fellow Yelpers!) with Gindi Thai. I was passing through the city, and happy to give this Thai restaurant a try. Having traveled to Thailand, I'm fairly picky when it comes to certain dishes and the right amount of spice infused. The ambience set the mood for date night and / or a large family dinner. We ordered a few dishes - the Tom Yum soup, chicken satay and green curry entree. Both delectable and flavorful. The Thai tea was a nice finish to end the evening. Tips: They have happy hour specials if dining solo or wish to have small bites for two. Parking is rather tricky and can be limited along the street. Thanks for a memorable meal! I work on the same block as Gindi Thai, so we get lunch taken out from here once in a while. I drive or walk past the place like over a dozen times a week, but I doubt I'll ever go inside unless I get Burbank nostalgia after I'm done with this job. It looks nice enough, though, and apparently has a happy hour. The food is solid--I definitely prefer Gindi to a lot of our other lunch options, which are, in my opinion, too heavy on boring salads. The menu is about half Thai and half sushi, which generally means you can expect mediocrity from both sides. I'd say the food is better than mediocre, if not as good as most Thai/sushi places I visit when I'm picking the restaurant. From the Thai side, I've had the kang daeng, or red curry, and the pad thai. The curry was tasty, flavorful and swimming with bamboo shoots and bell peppers. I got it with chicken and white rice, which felt right to me. The pad thai was pretty good, too--rice noodles with shrimp, chicken, egg, scallions, tofu, bean sprouts, and crushed peanut. The shrimp was dry, but I liked everything else, especially with a few blasts of sriracha. Gindi's Thai food is probably better than its sushi, as you might expect, but I've gotten a couple of rolls here when I felt like eating corny American sushi rolls. I found the rainbow roll very satisfying, a spicy tuna roll draped with masago and a colorful assortment of sashimi. The dragon roll would've been good except it was all kind of dry. This was a shrimp tempura roll topped with unagi, avocado, and bonito. I don't think all my co-workers love Gindi, but I'm always happy to see Asian food come up in our rotation. This place is good for curry and noodles and the occasional decked-out sushi roll. I'd recommend it if you're in Burbank craving any--or better yet, all--of the above. read more

This place has many kicks and quirks that make you come back for more. Let's explore... Gindi Thai is located on Riverside in Burbank on the stretch of street infiltrated with several restaurants of all styles (minutes from both Don Cuco and Big Boy) and seemingly has much competition to duke it out with. Yet, Gindi Thai holds its own. The immediate striking factor at Gindi Thai is that of your eyes: the restaurant is aesthetically appealing with clean, modern lines, white-washed walls, wooden floors and accents, etc. In fact, the entire place has that Ikea showroom-esque scent and feels like a calming spa. Don't expect traditional Thai decorations here, as Gindi Thai is modern to the max. We were immediately greeted with a smile and shown to the main bright and airy dining room. Gindi Thai also has a sushi bar, alcohol bar, and a side dining area. You heard that right... sushi bar. Gindi Thai is a 'fusion' spot as it serves sushi. Don't let this deter you from the merits of the food, I beg you. Perusing the menu you will find appetizers, soups, salads, wok dishes, curries, noodles, sushi rolls, drinks, and desserts. This ranges from traditional Thai dishes like Pad Thai and Pad See-U to more unique offerings with Thai-infused flavors. In fact, folks, that is precisely the striking point at Gindi Thai. Gindi Thai is not a hole-in-the wall Thai spot and is instead a beautifully-presented, high-end feeling restaurant but with amazing prices! If seeking a more traditional route, then Gindi Thai isn't your spot. This is the place to feel Hollywood-ed out but with the casual love of Burbank. We decided to order a "Like a Real Man" (basically an Old-Fashioned with Bourbon and orange) to share along with our meals of Prig King Wok for me (french-cut​ green beans, bell peppers with house chili paste with tofu) with brown rice and Atlantic Salmon in Pineapple Curry with brown rice for my gentleman dining partner (grilled​ and served with spicy pineapple lychee curry, green bean, broccoli and goji berry). The food arrived rather quickly and our eyes feasted! You DO eat with your eyes, first. The presentation was tremendously stunning! Again, this is Hollywood or downtown LA status presentation and was downright beautiful. But flavors are what matters, right? Well Gindi Thai knocks that out of the park, as well. The quality and flavors of the ingredients are high-caliber. Although the Prig King sounds somewhat bland in creativity; it is AMAZING! The chili paste sauce is perfect with the green beans being absolutely perfect in texture and bite. Even the brown rice was great and it is just rice! My gentleman caller's Atlantic Salmon was equally beautiful and delicious. The salmon was cooked to perfection while the sauce was a heavenly ratio of coconut and pineapple making for a fresh but spicy Thai concert in your mouth. Gindi Thai is just wonderful! Even the drink was beautiful presented with a sphere ice cube and orange rind. The only complaint is that the drink was mostly ice and very little liquor. Another excellent check mark at Gindi Thai? The service. Gindi Thai makes you feel VIP and is as attentive as attentive can be! There are constantly staff checking on you, refilling drinks the second they see you are 3/4-done, etc; and yet they don't feel pushy at all and never hover. It's some of the best service I've had and again: at an affordable restaurant. I can't rave enough about Gindi Thai and it certainly is my new favorite spot in respect to gourmet-style Thai (versus traditional hole-in-the-wall). Gindi Thai is a beautiful environment serving absolutely delicious top-quality plates with an artistic presentation and with wonderful customer service to top it off. It doesn't get much better than that. Only thing to be aware of is that Gindi Thai is open for lunch and dinner hours only so there are time frames they are closed. So, yes, we have all had Thai food out the wazoo but if looking for a lovely experience (Gindi Thai is great for both dates or a family dinner); then this is certainly the place to try! read more

I love Gindi Thai, it is my favorite place to get yellow curry in LA. I've been at least four times, and each time I get the same thing. It is creamy with the right amount of spice, and enough food to bring some home for another meal. The staff is kind, and there's the option to eat inside or outside on their patio. If you're picking up, pull into the parking lot behind the building or pull up to a spot in front of the restaurant. I always come here whenever I am in Burbank, and I crave it often!! read more

Ambience is a five-outdoor is lovely and there's a view of the wisdom tree on top of the mountains, they play really great lounge music. The food was a three which averaged out for a total score to a four star review. I'll make details in my photos which is why the food was ranked low. Since I ordered happy hour prices I was able to sample a lot but unfortunately by the last dish which was my least favorite the staff did not ask if I liked it or not which in my opinion was not great service because I didn't like it and I picked out the chicken and left an entire bowl of pad Thai noodles. read more

The best sushi rolls, they are prepared with the best ingredients that suit each bite with perfection. You have to try the Lovely Lipda Roll and the Albacore Carpaccio, those two are my absolute favorite food items to eat in the world. I am so lucky to have this wonderful restaurant near my home! First time trying this place out... Very clean and servers are very friendly. Nat, our waiter was lovely and gave some good suggestions. Only reason I knocked off a star was because my salmon was a bit overcooked and dry and the broccoli served with it was a tad undercooked. However, the flavors were really nice. Glad I came, as I love Thai food! My mom, sister, aunt, and I came during happy hour, the best hour! Their happy hour menu is pretty good. I ordered a Lychee Martini ($5), spring rolls ($5), and corn fritters ($4), and shrimp pad Thai (not on happy hour menu. I think that was $11). Lychee Martini: let's just say, if I wasn't the driver, I probably would have consumed about 3 of these. OMG, this martini was soooo delicious and refreshing!!! I've never had a lychee Martini. Heck, I've never eaten lychee before. It had a citris-y, sweet taste. Spring rolls: all spring rolls taste the same to me. They were good. Nothing extraordinary to note. Corn fritters: I wasn't a fan. Not that it tasted bad, I just didn't care for it. I've had corn fritters at another Thai restaurant and I guess I was expecting it to taste like that one, which I did like. This corn fritter was a fried patty with corn kernels. The fritters I had was not a patty, it was fried corn in what looked like wonton. So I didn't have all that fried batter like I had here at this restaurant. Again, the fritters here weren't bad; just wasn't my preference. Shrimp pad thai: Now this pad Thai has to be one of the best pad Thai I've tasted. I've had some that didn't taste fresh, lacked flavor, shrimp undercooked, noodles overcooked. But not this pad Thai. Everything about this dish was just right. Cooked to perfection! We were looking to have a nice Thai dinner last night in Burbank and spotted Gindi on Open Table so I made a reser for 7:45 pm. Valet parking only which isn't our fave. The waitress was super sweet and suggested the Chilean Sea bass which $25. It was bland even with all the veggies. Chicken sate was average. Tom Yum Gai soup was pretty good and had a nice flavor without being spicy so another star for soup. We also had pad Thai with shrimp and chicken. It was way too oily. . They have a sushi bar but we wanted Thai food. The ambience and music is a solid C. Word to the wise, if you take something to go, don't let them put it in a paper bag and lay it on its side to it leaks all over the car. This is our go to sushi and Thai restaurant these days! The preparation of all their dishes are simple, classic and so delicious. The staff are all friendly and helpful. A neighborhood gem! We have many favorites from here... seared scallops, their special rolls such as the plenty of fish and Sexy salmon roll. Their spicy scallop roll, Albacore carpaccio , pad se u noodles with any protein ALL so yummy. Yellow curry (have gotten it with shrimp as well as chicken) is also scrumptious. I tend to believe that this is a family run business, mostly because the way the staff works is pretty robotic, kind of just going through the motions. Zero personality and they barely look you in the eyes when they're talking to you, like they're just trying to do their shift and go the hell home. With that said, the food here is good. They have a happy hour, but I'm not sure there was any alcohol in any of our martinis. I will go further and just say: there was zero alcohol in our martinis. They have a little competition with the Jinya Ramen bar a couple of doors down, but they've been holding their own with their smaller, well thought out menu and especially since they closed off the driveway and made it a full outdoor dining area. We had a wonderful time, the avocado roll I got was top notch, house made spicy mayo rocked, the curry trio was unique (hadn't seen that at other Thai places!) and delicious. 10/10 will be back!
