This is not a place to get Chinese food, despite the outward appearance of being a primarily Chinese restaurant; I would describe the Chinese dishes as terrible. They have okay Japanese style things - the sushi at least seems fine, though on the expensive side. The Thai things are probably a little better than Chinese, but not good. When I went in group who ordered different things, the main Chinese dish my wife and I ordered was mapo tofu, for which we had low expectations, as I very rarely find real mapo tofu in America, but it was soft tofu with frozen peas and carrots in an disgusting onion flavored brown gloop (which was most of the mass of the dish) - we got it because it was the only thing with tofu, which tells you how vegetarian friendly the place is. Another person with us ordered basil chicken, which I guess falls under Thai food. It had two pieces of basil, a few pieces of chicken, in brown gloop similar to our gloop. I ordered General Tso's chicken and my wife ordered Triple Delight. My meal was not the best. I travel for a living and eat this same dish all over the country and seen many varieties of this dish. Too much breading! No flavor on Triple Delight either. Since then, the owners have contacted me and informed me that they have changed the ingredients and it should be much better. Used to love their food until I found a big fly in my soup, safe to say I will fly past Ginger the next time i'm craving Chinese food.

Mom and I were in the area and decided to try it. We were rather impressed! I got the ginger house roll with some salmon sashimi. The roll was amazing and massive, well worth it. I had an issue with the sashimi, which the waiter and owner quickly rectified. Mom got the chicken skewers and said they were to die for. She was impressed with the house lomein which had a lot more shrimp in it than other restaurants. The atmosphere was nice, the service was quick and courteous. We hesitate to try new places, but extremely pleased with this one. We will keep this place in mind next time we are in Salisbury. read more

Absolutely Terrible, Appetizer and Meal were barely luke warm. General Tos was right out of Sysco bag. All skin and batter, NO Meat. The Décor was beautiful, very well renovated. There was 6 of us, and not one person enjoyed there meal. read more

Had lunch here today and was pleasantly surprised. My daughter and I each had different types of lomein shrimp and beef. Both were tasty. We also each had an egg roll... It is hard to find a quality sit down Asian restaurant. The Ginger House is an exception to that statement! We had hot and sour and miso soups, superb (but the large is really large!) we loved the crispy and hot spring rolls, pork gyoza dumplings with a wonderful sauce. The finish was the last empress, a cucumber wrapped sushi stuffed with krab and avocado. So refreshing! Only wish this was closer to home! A must stop just a little bit off of rte 50. read more

Just moved to Salisbury and have been trying to find good places to eat out. My wife was hoping this restaurant would have Pad See Ew (Thai) but the hostess didn't even know what that was. Yesterday was my first time eating here. Wife ordered two egg rolls and I ordered the single fried oysters. Both orders were very good. We were part of a large group and the two waitresses serving us were very good! Everyone in our party truly seemed to enjoy all the food! A group of coworkers and I ordered take out, calling the order in around 11:20am. We got there before noon. I think we waited for the food to even appear at the front desk until around 12:15. The staff didn't seem prepared to handle incoming orders on a Friday for lunch, which is laughable. I didn't ask about their order quality because by the time we got back to work, we barely had time to eat, we had to wait so long. I ordered a Hunan Chicken with an eggroll and some wonton soup. While the main dish was spicy, it had little to no flavor, just heat. The fried rice that came with it was dismal and nearly white. The eggroll was all cabbage and very bland. the soup was mostly broth and very little meat in the wontons I did actually receive. The decor is beautiful and maybe the sushi is ok, as that is what my coworkers ordered, but I personally wouldn't waste my time here again. Very disappointed. Imperial Gallery, the restaurant which was here previously, was much better. But to give a recommendation of something nicer, go to Asian Taste. The food is far superior. read more

The best Hunan Chicken and Fried rice on the Eastern Shore. The sauce was excellent, the spice was perfect! Can't wait to have it again! My husband had General Tios chicken and shrimp and was very pleased, I had to try it also, it's one of those dishes that can be perfect or soggy and rubbery, it was perfect and more! I tried this place since I saw it had high ratings on here, and because my normal place Asian Taste didn't answer the phone. I will be more cautious to take people's advice on Yelp around here on good service and good Chinese, because nope! I ordered, and I am not sure WHY you cannot get pork fried rice with General Tso's Chicken. It's either white or hibachi rice, so I agreed to hibachi rice, a ORDER of pork fried rice, and 2 egg rolls. They seemed to have understood. When I got there which I took my time coming from Mardela, then even venturing into the pet store down the way before going in. I was told 10-15 minuets on my way FROM Mardela. I got there and they told me it was still being made, I waited another 15 minuets there before it was ready, but no one told me, the girl let me sit there as she was too busy at the other end of the bar with a Co worker. She finally hands me my order after I hot up and stood there with no acknowledgment and repeated my order. They did not include pork fried rice, they gave me a pint of hibachi rice, I am assuming, so when I said no she took it to the back. I waited for it to be "remade". It tasted like they threw pork in garlic habachi rice, it was horrible the rice was white and mealy. It also had a weird taste like what they fried it on was burn or had left over burnt or cleaner, it was nasty. Also the egg rolls where raw cabbage on the inside, and also a weird horrible taste with garlic. The General Tso's was also gross. My boyfriend and I barely ate any of it. The chicken stuck together. As nice as it looks, the food is horrible and so is the take out service. I will stick to the places I know and like. Did I mention I got charged for pork fried rice I didn't get? read more

I only get sushi. When they first opened the sushi was great and they had an awesome lunch special... a few months later it wasn't as good and I stayed away for a while. I ate here a few weeks ago. Loved it. Had the dragon pheonix plus two sushi rolls and miso soup. ALL of it was delicious. The staff is friendly...polite and not in your face every few seconds. They are quick and I dig the ambiance of the place. Ate there before the new owners and honestly its leaps and bounds better. I drive for a beverage company in the area and have been through their kitchen several times and it is ALWAYS clean. Im about to order some take out now! We love the Food, it's very consistent and Fresh. The Pork fried rice is delicious, you can make a meal just out of that! We usually get Happy Family and Pineapple chicken, both delicious! Prices are a bit high but you pay for quality when it comes to food. read more
