Order delivery at 11:43am. It wasn't delivered upon my requested time which was 12:30pm. At 1:11pm I called and spoke with a woman who was telling me that the driver called me 6 times. (THIS DID NOT HAPPEN). I went back and forth with her for approx. 5 minutes, which lead to nothing. I told her I wanted to cancel and I wanted them to credit my card. She said she couldn't and that I needed to contact "slice". She told me that I could wait outside and the driver would be right there.(mind you that they are literally 4 minutes away. I told her that the order was almost 45 minutes late and the food would be cold. She said that they would re cook the fries. I told her I wanted the whole order re-cooked, and she agreed. The driver called and said he was here. I went outside noone was there. Went to the other side of the building and not there either. I came back around and he was pulling into the business next door. OK... so I almost NEVER re-review a business, unless there is a change in service (good or bad). However, I wanted to throw this in for the record. Gino's is consistently great food. It is my repeat "go to" when I order out. I don't discount the experience of others, but I want to put this out there that I have never received anything other than great food and great service. I DID have a SNAFU once, where I thought they didn't deliver my order, only to find out it had arrived and no one in my house thought to tell me. Warning: I recommend NOT ordering from https://www.myginospizzaranchhouse.com. It takes you to slicelife.com. They give you a 5% discount, but all the prices are higher and you will probably pay more in the long run. Recommendation: Try ordering through beyondmenu.com. Our relationship started off the wrong way! When I say relationship, I am speaking of Operators to Customer and I really want to serve this review up with 0 STARS once I break this down but since I can not submit my review without a star rating, let us just go ahead and give Gino's Pizza and Ranch House a 1. Customer Service here sucks all types of dirty butt cheeks! Let us just call it what it is. I walked in and was stared at as if I had three heads....I even asked if I should just sit anywhere or???? Then the Woman behind the counter and I played a game of who can stare at each other the longest, all before a young Man walked up and said to order my food there and then sit down anywhere, as he walked away. No problem.... I ordered three variations of hot dogs that were available on the menu, along with a cheesecake for dessert all to go. The unwelcoming vibe was enough to make me just walk out and go elsewhere but I was here to give a review. Now let us dive into these hot dogs. The first was a basic dog with no condiments or anything...I took a bite and after a few chews, the ultimate flavor of hot dog horror and disgust overwhelmed me. This beef dog seen better days and none of those days were today. The flavor was foul and dank. Not sure as to where this hot dog came from but from whatever crypt of despair, they should had left it there. The bun was decent but the dog itself wasn't made for human consumption. If this is the base of what is to come, help us all Hot Dog Gods, help us all. Now add Chili to the next NOT DOG! The chili did have some spice to it but that is where it all stopped. Too dry with lack luster flare about the chili. Didn't taste as if it had been made today....something that was sitting for a few days, awaiting the arrival of someone to see if it resembled chili at all and visually, it did....Not meaty, or accompanied with beans....I am not even sure if ground meat was used and if they did use ground meat....throw away the idea of seasoning it. Do we discuss my final NOT DOG? Their junkyard dog? Another bite that said, "WHAT DID YOU EXPECT HERE CHAMP?" Take their form of Chili and add some old peppers, onions and cheese with some sauerkraut - mush it altogether and serve it up on a NOT DOG as pot luck surprise and whatever it tastes like to you on the day you ordered it, there you have it! All I could taste was a reason not to come back for anything else. I honestly wished that I could save this review with another star and say, "Ooooh, I had outstanding Customer Service though!" but I digress....... Had one of their lunch specials today. There was one guy at a table when I walked in and when I walked out, he was still there. Three giggling women came in to pick up a takeout order. Other than myself, that was the sum total of customer transactions during my lunch stop. For $5, I had a can of soda and 2 slices of cheese pizza. Very poor pizza- little sauce, weird tasting cheese, average crust. The pizza was very undistinguished, it gave mediocrity a bad name. Another reviewer used the word "bland" and she hit the bullseye with that word. I've made better pizzas with homemade crust and a jar of Prego. I've driven past this place for years and years and never stopped in until today. I should have kept my streak intact. At least it was cheap. read more

This place used to have good food. They changed to an all beef hotdog and the over cooked them like rubber and they a cheap hotdog. The pork and beer were much better. My wife had a fish sandwich and it's gone down hill also. Used to go once a week. Don't know if it's new owners or what but they using cheaper stuff. Not going back. read more

I really wish I could give this place a half star, or no star at all. I ordered a grinder for lunch, face to face in the restaurant; and they still messed up my order. How difficult is it to just add lettuce and tomatoes after the grinder comes out of the oven?!!! Needless to say I didn't eat it. I called to tell them I'll be there for a refund, and they proceeded to tell me they'll make me another one because they won't refund me my money. I spoke with the manager and informed him that I didn't want it, and I want my money back. He said FINE!!!!, bring in the grinder and you'll get your money. So that's what I did. There were two slices of thinly sliced ham and they call that a grinder. Look at the pics. Don't go here. It's not worth the money or hassel. They don't serve good food. My order came with a 25 cent bag of chips that I ate. They charged me 80 cent for it!!!! If you don't believe how bad it is, see for yourself. You'll be sorry you didn't listen. Recently, I was working in Bloomfield and craving pizza. Gino's is a part of A Tale of Two Pizzas. This is chapter 1. It was, without a doubt, an educational and eye opening experience. My slices seemed like the final output of a communist assembly line. Cardboard from a state owned factory pushed down the line and married up with any tasteless, unflavored liquid resembling tomato sauce in some way. Before rolling off the line, three bureaucrats try to chisel away a single chunk of unmelted cheese like product. Wow! It was bad, beyond bad. Made my stomach upset all afternoon, and my mind to wander back to elementary school when I wondered if those lunchtime pizza slices could possibly get worse. 25 years, I have found it. This "pizza place" is alright. The food is subpar, mostly flavorless. For the price of the items you can't truly comain too much. They do have the BEST eggplant parmesan sub I've ever had- and that's alot of subs. The bread to eggplant ratio is perfect, it's well seasoned for some reason. Neither snow nor rain nor gloom of night will stop me in my quest, or so it seems, to find the worst pizza in Ct. Yesterday I found a top 5 contender in the Copaco shopping center. A sign advertising pizza by the slice captured my eye, but I should have retreated when I found none on display. Another red flag should have gone up when I realized I was the only customer this Sunday afternoon. Lastly, I should have folded my sails when I witnessed the sole employee taking a piece of mystery meat out of the freezer and tossing it into a vat of hot oil. My only excuse was, a sorry one indeed, I was famished so I tossed caution and my taste buds to the wind by ordering the luncheon special of 2 slices of cheese pizza and a can of soda for $6. Not a bad deal you say? Yes, a bad deal on multiple levels. My go to pizzeria has the same deal for $3.50, but more importantly its pizza is 10, no 100, times better than at Gino's. These slices were small though in retrospect that was good. Secondly, the toppings of tomato sauce and what passes for mozzarella were brown. Lastly, the crust was a little too thick, lacked chew and devoid of taste. A trifecta of mediocrity. Trust me on this because I have more experience in such matters than you, a better pizza may be found in your local grocer's freezer case. Next time I suffer from hunger pangs in the immediate area of Gino's, I will continue on to Blue Hills Avenue and make the short drive to Scotts' Jamaican Bakery for chicken patties. read more

AVOID: I WAS SHAKEN DOWN FOR MORE MONEY WHEN LEAVING THE RESTAURANT! I happened to be shopping next door at a large do-it-yourself home improvement retailer, the one in blue - not orange, when I decided to grab a quick lunch. Gino's was next door and advertised lunch specials; I figured, "Who wouldn't want a deal on pizza?" I went in and bought the $5 slice and soda special. Here is Rocky's SAFE review: SERVICE Horrible! I literally told to pay another dollar as I was walking out the door by the lady who took my order. I inquired about their lunch specials, and the "$5 pizza/soda" deal sounded great. I ordered, paid, and was told "grab soda from cooler". Never was I told a "can of soda" - but that became irrelevant. After ordering, the same lady comes over to me - soda bottle in my hand - and tells me to sit down, they will bring my food. Again, she makes no mention of me taking the wrong soda. The cook brings my food and places it right next to the soda bottle - and again - nobody makes mention to me of the fact I have a bottle of soda, not a can. It was still unopened at this point. As I leave, I throw my trash away and am stopped by the counter lady. She runs around, gets in front of me, and tells me she has to charge me more!!! I asked why, and she says the special is for a can only. When I asked why she didn't tell me a can earlier - and did not correct me before I got my food - she says I owe her a $1 because it's $1 more. I looked on the menu, and a bottle is $.75 more. I paid her, laughed, and left. ATMOSPHERE It is a typical strip mall establishment. Prices are cheap enough and it reflects in the décor. FOOD A decent slice of pizza may have had me forget about the war of words earlier. However, most of the other Yelppers hit the nail on the head. It has that hard, hard crust that makes me think it was born a frozen pizza. Additionally, the cheese lacked any elasticity what so ever and is reminiscent of an article I read last year about lab created beef. This could be test-tube cheese, no doubt. ENCOUNTER Overall, this was a total disappointment. Disgusting food, and even worse customer service, had me thinking I should have done Boston Market next door. I have no problem paying whatever the accurate price of the soda was, but the manner it went down was tacky. I had flashbacks to a time when I was traveling in Eastern Europe and was shaken down by the local police: escorted to an ATM to pay my "fine" for stepping on the other side of an invisible line. Wish I could upload a picture of the pizza that was delivered to my nephew school. I'm so embarrassed. It looked like someone dropped it! The school called my sister to let her know what happened and they also sent the photo. When my sister called them to inquire about what happens they claimed they delivered the pizza in 1 peice and that the students must have done it. The teacher disposed of it to protect the students. We live near by and Gino's is our go to for pizza. The food is always consistently fresh and tasty. The party pizza is a great bargain for a large family. We love the Italian grinder too. Chicken wings are also good. The staff is always courteous and offers us a free soda when we pick up our large orders. Delivery is always prompt and drivers are courteous. No one sits outside honking like a jerk. The only thing I would change would be that I would love to see falafel added to the menu or a vegan pizza option. Great local place! read more

They usually get my orders correct. But not tonight. I had several items in my order, of which, one was a wrap. When they called me up when my food was ready, I was handed a grinder. I asked why I was getting a grinder, when I ordered a wrap. I was getting a weird look, I said again that I ordered a wrap. He then told someone else to go and make a wrap. Theres no doubt that this was the WORST quality food Ive ever consumed in my ENTIRE life. I recently ordered a standard small pizza and a small order of curly fries. After waiting 20 minutes past their given arrival time, i walked outside to meet the delivery guy who looked like a legit Somali pirate. He handed me a box that was smaller than my iPad, i was in shock. It was at that moment i knew i made a huge mistake. When i got inside i opened the box to see the most depressing pizza ive ever seen in my life. Usually a standard small pizza is around 12-14 inches, but this thing was a puny 7.5 at the most. A slice was no bigger than the palm of my hand and the quality was miles behind any microwaveable pizza youd find in the freezer section of a gas station. Not to mention, the little container of fries they gave me was only half full. If Gordon Ramsay ever walked into Gino's hed either commit a murder/suicide or have a stroke immediately. To call this pizza is like calling a bottle of bleach delicious. My italian relatives would be rolling in their graves if they knew i ate a pizza this bad.
