I really love this place. I grew up a short walk away. I compare all Italian food to theirs. They know my family by name. Their food is good but their attitudes are terrible. And after being a customer over 20 years I've had enough. Each time I have visited has been unpleasant attitudes. I ordered two chicken rolls with no cheese, made quickly ... no cheese like I asked but ended up being raw dough inside. They told the ordering platform they made 60 rolls today and no issues and I could return the undercooked ones to them. Arrogance , you can make 60 rolls and still make a mistake. . The quality has gone down hill and with it the service. Ordered a pie and waited over an hour and a half for it just for find out that they gave my pie away by accident. No sorry or nothing. No....just no. My lovely date insisted upon ordering from here. He said "it's really really good." I like placing orders online and he likes ordering over the phone btw. He calls in the order, and the gentleman who answered the phone didn't know what any of the ingredients to certain dishes were. It's puzzling because how do you work in an Italian restaurant but don't know what's in anything? What if the person asking the questions had allergies? We ordered the calamari arrabiata, a panini, and the Italian trio. Not impressed at all. Everything lacked flavor. Ive been heading to this particular Gino's since 1988. Seriously thats a long freaking time! I think they may have recently changed owners though, picked up dinner a few weeks back and the chicken parm (which is usually great) had the dry texture of reheated chicken...and the eggplant parm was also not up to par. Happens once in a while though so i'll give em another shot, or two being they have been great for over 20 years in my book~! On another note, they still have the BEST sicilian pizza in NY, Umberto's of NHP has the best regular, Gino's has the best Sicilian and i'd like to hear arguments on any disagreements with that statement!!!=) read more

One downside to Gino's, it's a bit pricey. With that said, it's worth it lol. Everything is consistently great; from the pizza to the entrees. The dinner here is so fresh tasting and deliciously flavored. I can't get enough really. The only pizzeria in town that makes me want to stay for dinner. One tip for you all, try it! read more

Gino's is the best pizza in my area of south queens and Long Island. Consistently delicious, hot food, staff is friendly and personable. Been coming here my whole life and now I've moved out of New York State, I find no other quality pizza like it. My suggestion is to keep it simple, a plain slice or plain Sicilian are great or get a pepperoni Sicilian. Crust is thick and bready, cheese melts with each bite. Pasta and garlic bread are great too. Ask for marinara sauce with food and baked ziti my favorite. I'll cut myself off here because I can write a page. I am here because I was in town this weekend and had a delicious grandma slice. For dessert or in heat, the Italian ices are fresh and healthier option than ice cream. Enjoy! read more

Got a large pie with 2 regular, 2 pep, and 2 buffalo chicken. The slices were the size of my face and delicious!! The toppings did slide a bit, but that's what happens when it's fresh outta the oven...not the mention the pizza was so bit they had to fold it over in the box! This is the 3rd time I've ordered Fried Calamari for delivery and pickups. I fully explain DO NOT PUT THE PLASTIC LID ON TOP. This creates steam and when dropped off it is PURE RUBBER and Nasty. No one likes rubber calamari it is fried to be crispy which is what they do when you eat it in the restaurant. GET it RIGHT Gino's. The tin pan and paper bag works fine. I had a very racist encounter with an older white employee blonde hair who had pony tail and bangs who got in my face and started yelling at me while I was with my baby cousin. I'm a black Hispanic. I didn't know refills weren't free because I wasn't told that. She told me if you cant afford this restaurant go to McDonald's. They were other white customers there filling up there drink and said nothing to them. Only to me. I would not recommend if your black because of the white female employee who wasn't even on the clock just at a table hanging out and not doing her job until she seen a black person. A real hidden gem in Elmont, Long Island. I've been ordering delivery from Gino's for well over 5 years before actually walking in. It's a small family friendly Italian restaurant. I ordered the chicken Francese and it was swimming in lemon sauce (which I absolutely love). The chicken was tender and the spaghetti on the side made my dinner worth it. When you want superior Italian food, Elmont is the hopping hamlet; Gino's is another spot that serves dishes with the right seasoning and flavors. Calamari is one of my favorite foods, but upon ordering, a question always pops into my mind: "Shall I end up dining on a tire tonight?" Fortunately, the calamari arrabiata was far from rubbery and included filling clusters of seafood and vegetables. The garlic slices were divine. For dinner, I ordered rigatoni alla vodka with pieces of chicken cutlet. Made with a harmonious marriage of prosciutto and sauce, this platter pleased. In fact, I loved the sauce so much that I will mention it again: Sometimes, vodka sauce is way too creamy; sometimes, it is far too thin. Much like Baby Bear's porridge, this sauce was just right. While I took my leftovers home, I did have to sneak in a piece of the peanut butter cake (which was really more of a pie than a cake) before departing, and I am glad I awarded myself this treat. With this glowing review, you may wonder why I have deducted a star. Well, I crave local restaurants where I can sit and relax for awhile with a refreshing beverage. Gino's is certainly cozy and the servers are friendly, but the entrees appeared immediately after my last bite of calamari. Also, we were told that only three wines are served (I don't know how many beers are available), which is a disappointment. In any case, let me end on a positive note as that is what I hope you take away from my review: I've been eating food from Gino's occasionally since I was in elementary school (which was in the prehistoric ages of the early 90s) and have no intentions of stopping. read more

I came here with my family today, it was a big group. I understand a big group of people can be a handful but the people behind the counter had attitude and kept saying "I'm not taking their order you can" to each other. My family and I even ordered separately to help the crew to be nice. Then my little sister who happens to be a black Hispanic, I'm a white hispanic, went to refill her soda at the soda area. She wasn't aware that we weren't allowed to get free refills as it was not told to us. As she was refilling her drink a white lady with a blonde high ponytail and bangs started yelling at her saying you can't do that and being hella rude. She also even told my sister if you can't afford to eat here go to McDonalds.. like how the heck do you say that to someone ? We just had a death in the family and we came to Gino's to try to have a happy moment and talk about our loved one who passed away. "I'd marry this slice"... Said many of my friends just before indulging their buffalo chicken pizza from Gino's pizzeria. Guilty, I'd marry it too. Gino's buffalo slice has been the Valley Stream/Elmont ultimate craving for years. I've been coming to Ginos forever and only started living when I took my first bite of the spicy, blue cheese, chicken goodness. Lucky (or not so lucky) for me, I know one of the workers and he'll always have a slice ready for me. Thank god I just ate one for dinner or I'd be well on my way after writing this. Some dinner favorites of mine are Rigatoni Montanara, shrimp parm, and the one and only, Gnocchi Caprese. Just thinking of those lil fluffy potato guys has me smiley and hungry all over again. This plate of gnocchi trumps most. The fresh mozzarella melted between the potato pasta just screams "YESSSS". Ugh this is a torturous review. Guilty of having ginos for lunch and dinner?
