I was there on 11/29/21 and ordered a budae jjigae. The menu saids it comes with hot dog, sausage, ham and mixed veggie. All I got was kimchi stew with stale small 3 pieces of scallops and 3 small shrimp. And paid $39. I've had many budaegaes in California and s. Korea and this is nothing like those. Plus this dish was small. They usually put this on a portable gas butane stove but no. They should come with spam, sausage, rice cake, tofu and mixed veggies. Plus ramen noodle or udon noodle. And, I could see that they served Korean BBQ grilled at your table. So, we went. Immediately got happy when they said of coarse we have Soju. The inside is great and they offer private room Karaoke. We picked one of their set BBQ combos (1 order for 2). I think it was $39.99 which is a deal. Don't expect 2 rices since it's a single order. You can order additional items as you wish. Thumbs down for $10 evening parking in the paid parking lot right on Lauula St. (in Waikiki.... but parking is good for the whole night after 5 PM, if you are going to hit up Waiks afterwards). My friend and I came to Ginza Won for Korean BBQ, and were surprised when the entire menu was in Japanese. Well, the first page had the English translation next to the Japanese. My friend brought out a coupon in English which I guess they give to you if you are English speaking... but I'm still wondering what #5 of the BBQ set, "laver" is supposed to be. Weird. Liver? Flavor? Well it's mostly English anyway - haha. (see pic) The place was as dead as a ghost town, and there were two workers who were attentive (I had better hope so since we were the only customers in the entire restaurant. The place was empty for the whole duration of my dinner). I almost bumped this place up to two stars for these guys being attentive, but I decided against it. After ordering, they brought out a few side dishes... none of which I was very impressed with. The kimchee tasted like it came from one of those jars that they sell at Foodland or Safeway..., and that jar was sitting in the refrigerator for who knows for how long????! It was soggy, and way too salty. The side veggies were very unimpressive. We ordered the BBQ set. In my picture, you'll see a little English coupon/menu. The BBQ set includes: 1. Beef Tongue, 2. Kalbi, 3. Beef flat meat, 4. Egg soup, 5. Laver(?), 6. Salad, 7. Vegetable, 8. Kimchee. We substituted the cow tongue for more bulgogi. The meat was on the tougher side. Not bad, but also not the best that I have had. We didn't ever get our egg soup. Only now, after the fact, when I looked at the menu again did I notice we didn't get it. As much as I loved my 95 cent Kirin (only the first Kirin is 95 cents)... the $50+ tab for two, and $10 parking wasn't worth it. read more

The food is extremely expensive with little mount of food. The manner of service is really arrogant and not responsive. Basically you have to do everything and they just throw the food on your table without ask who's food it is. We asked for split the order and they can't do it without reason! And what's more worse, their bill has no item description only have the total money to pay! Which we can't even figure out how to split the bill afterward! That day is raining and they push us to leave the store with no reason! We had to stand outside the store for an hour waiting the rain to stop! I wish there could be negative rate for this store! Don't come here for korean food, really just very so-so. Maybe they only got to stay here as long as they did because this is a very touristy area, for real. Spicy beef Soup tasted like the water that was in the pot when we washed the soup pot (old Chinese saying). This place is AMAZING! Really good service and amazing quality meat. When I go to kbbq, I'm expecting the meat to be tender and fresh. The side dishes are really tasty. We tried the kalbi, pork belly and sirloin. Everything came really quickly and the wait staff were really attentive. We never had our cups empty, which is a detail I always keep track of. Kbbq can be hit or miss, depending on the place, but Ginza really exceeded my expectations. The inside is cozy and on the smaller side, but I like that in a restaurant. Some people may prefer a more fancy restaurant, but I really enjoyed the ambiance. We also ordered bibimbap and naegmyeon, which are simple dishes. Can't go wrong. Here, they were done really well and reminded me of my mother's cooking. The only downside of this restaurant is that it's in Waikiki, and parking is ridiculous. There's street parking on the weekends, or you can try the Ala Wai. Overall, will be back soon! read more
