I recently discovered this amazing sushi restaurant and it quickly became my favorite :) Their rolls are, hands down, the best--I'm obsessed with the baked salmon roll I also frequently order sushi, and my favorites are the 'I Love Salmon Sushi' and 'Hokkaido Scallop.' You can really tell they only use fresh, high-quality ingredients. When I sat at the sushi bar, the chef even showed me the whole fish they had just received that day!!! Super cool candy tasted very yummy. The guy that is in front of me makes the sushi right in front of you and he's very nice to. There are a lot of options to choose from varying from Mexican rolls to a dragon plate! The restaurant is rarely full but there is a lot of space. The tiny soups they give you as a appetizer is also very good. I got the crunchy roll and baked salmon roll they are both very delicious and a good size for sharing. Tucked away in an urban strip mall, next to a Big 5, and a Nail Salon, Ginzaya offers quality Japanese fare. I've been here several times and I always start off with the Salmon and Tuna Sushi. The quality of the fish is good and the presentation is nice. I've also had the a variety of cut rolls, Salads and the Ramen. Everything is very good. I got a couple of pieces that I hadn't tried yet, including butterfish. I was very satisfied with this plate and I thought it reasonably priced ($29). They started us off with miso soup, which I love and find really comforting. They were generous with their ginger, a must for me. This is located in a plaza with plenty of parking. My mom and I came here hoping to enjoy a nice sushi dinner, and let me just say... that did not happen. From start to finish, the experience was an absolute disaster. First of all, we had FOUR different waiters. Yes, four. No communication between them, just pure confusion. One of them couldn't even hear our order because the music in the restaurant was blasting so loud, I literally had to shout to my mom just to talk. Forget conversation -- we were yelling over what felt like a club, not a sushi restaurant. I ordered their House Green Salad and was immediately disappointed. It was drenched in dressing to the point it looked like a soggy soup. And the lettuce? Brown. Absolutely not fresh. It gets worse. The entire staff was drinking -- we're talking actual alcoholic drinks while working. Call me crazy, but that doesn't scream "professional restaurant" to me. The behavior, the attitude... it was more like a bar at 1am than a dinner service. Then there was the sushi roll situation. We ordered a roll that had no mention of spice in the menu description -- key detail because my mom can't eat anything spicy. It came covered in spicy mayo and Sriracha. When we questioned it, the waiter (who had to "check with the manager" first, by the way) tried to convince us it wasn't spicy. He literally said, "Trust me, it's not spicy." Excuse me?! We sent it back and asked for it to be remade without spice, like it should've been in the first place. Instead of just fixing it, the waiter rolled his eyes and acted like we were the problem. Then we saw him trying to sell the same roll to another couple nearby. Unreal. The Mixed Tempura was also a disaster -- the yam was still raw inside. Not even cooked. Plates and dishes were dirty, and we had to ask for replacements just to feel comfortable eating off of them. Tables were sticky. Gross. As if that wasn't enough, my mom's roll -- which she had asked for at the beginning of the meal -- finally came super late, and she said it tasted like vinegar. Not even remotely good. We had also ordered Edamame, which they completely forgot, then told us they couldn't bring it out because the kitchen was backed up. Ten minutes later? The roll arrives. The same vinegar-tasting disaster. Still no Edamame. By this point, we were just done. My mom spent her hard-earned money on this meal, and it was nothing short of a complete nightmare. We walked out feeling sick -- and honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if we do get sick. Our stomachs already hurt. The staff was running around like a zoo. Disorganized. Uncaring. Unclean. Unprofessional. Save yourself the time, money, and stomach ache -- DO NOT eat here. I wouldn't wish this experience on anyone. read more
