Celiac Foodie: Pizza! The service was ok. One person as the waiter for the restaurant. It averages 45 mins to an hour for food after you order. They do have gluten free crust, 3 salads, gluten free noodles with gluten free Alfredo, marinara & meat sauce. No gluten free desserts. Old style decor in the restaurant. GF Pizza was good, light seasoning and extra toppings were added. The Parmesan garlic fries are really good and smell amazing. When I want stuffed cheesy pizza my go to is Giordano's. I've ordered both delivery and pickup. This time, I ordered delivery. Ordered one Deep Dish, 1/2 cheese and 1/2 pepperoni and was excited to try the Tavern Style 1/2 cheese and 1/2 sausage as we had people over from out of town and they wanted Deep Dish. The ordering process online was easy. And the delivery was on time. However, the Deep Dish was incorrect and it was whole pepperoni instead of 1/2. When I called, the employee said they couldn't deliver the correct one cause they don't have drivers and they utilize "uber" or some driving service to deliver their orders. But I indicated that they need to figure it out - it was delivered before or they should have made it correctly the first time if it is difficult to get an order redelivered. Then I found myself arguing with the person on the phone and just wanted it to be resolved somehow. He asked me to show them proof that it was all pepperoni so I had to peel off the cheese from the pan pizza and show it. I guess, there are people that lie but wow. And I couldn't serve the pizza to vegetarians. Otherwise it wouldn't have been a bug deal. Finally, I asked for a manager and I had the GM call me. I explained the situation and how it was difficult working with the person on the phone. Ultimately, I had to show proof that I wasn't lying and I was offered to have it remade but I had to go pick it up. Anyway, I asked for a refund instead. I was told I would get it and I gave it a sometime to show up on my bank but I have not seen it in over a week. I called back the GM and if finally got refunded - 16 days after the initial order. The GM was nice even after I was giving her attitude during first contact with her. Ultimately, I received my refund but was not happy with the restaurant. I was going to give my rating as a 1 star but I'll give it a 3 cause the Taven Style was new and it was really good. Not quite like a mom and pop pizza joint in the city but pretty good. After putting together the deep dish, I was told that it was good. The service from the restaurant was not great. The interaction with the GM was good and was resolved eventually. But I probably wouldn't order from here again. I'll probably just travel to the Schaumburg location and eat there. 1 star for the tavern style pizza, 1 star for the GM interaction and eventual refund. read more

We have enjoyed both the thin and deep dish in the past, but know that the deep dish takes a much longer time. We were really hungry, so ordered s large thin crust pizza with sausage and minestrone soup. Nothing complicated. Figured we would get the soup to tide us over until the pizza was ready. The dining room was not busy. Waiter was friendly. After waiting 25 minutes, we asked about the soup and he said it would be another minute. After about 10 more minutes, we asked again. The waiter smiled and said that the soup was frozen and that they were still thawing it out. We got it about 5 minutes later and it was lukewarm with little flavor (watery). When it was about an hour after our order, we asked about the pizza. The waiter smiled and said that they were still melting the cheese. We received it shortly after that. The pizza was fine, but we have had better without having to wait so long. After many years, sorry to say, we are never going back. read more

Horrible experience- delivery took two hours and the driver never rang the door bell so everything sat out in the rain. Absolutely unacceptable and disgusting behavior from the staff at this location. After waiting over two hours for food -- and being repeatedly told it was "on the way" -- I called to check the status. Instead of an apology, I was cussed out by an employee who told me I was "go fuck yourself " for being upset about the delay. Let me be clear: this is not how you treat paying customers. The lack of professionalism and basic respect is appalling. I will never return to this location, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. In the conversation about legendary Chicago style pizza, Giordano's deserves to in included in that conversation. It had been a while since I've had their famous stuffed crust pizza and I had forgotten how special it is. A mountain of cheese envelopes the other ingredients and then second layer of crust is placed on top of the toppings. With all of that cheese, this pizza takes about 40 minutes to cook. While waiting for our pizza to cook we ordered the appetizer sampler (Bruschetta, Boneless Chicken Nuggets, Mozzarella Triangles, and Cheesy Garlic Bread). My favorite were the chicken nuggets and the mozzarella triangles. The samplers hit the spot and kept us satisfied while we waited for the main event. We ordered The Special Deep Dish (sausage, mushrooms, green peppers & onions). It tasted phenomenal. The servers were very nice and accommodating. I look forward to coming back more often for more stuffed pizzas! read more

Ordered delivery via uber eats. After an hour of waiting they cancelled the order and stopped taking new orders. If you can't make the food then don't take the order or at least cancel it quickly so I am not waiting around for a delivery that won't come. Ugh! I ordered online because I thought it was easier for the restaurant....husband was picking up. He had to wait an extra half hour, for a total of 2 hours. We ordered deep dish with sausage and mushrooms. He didn't know that I prepaid, so he paid again and they didn't tell him. The box leaked all over him & the car! I checked the bank and they did charge us twice, 2 different amounts. It was $3.40 MORE for me to order online!!! I called and manager said it was company policy to change more online. Also, the leaking was caused by the fresh mushrooms,or any vegetables. We usually like Giordanos , but I can't imagine going back now. This was a disappointing experience indeed!!!! read more

We ordered a large tavern style pepperoni pizza the other day because of the tv commercials. Unfortunately the only crisp part of the pizza was the outer 1" of the crust. The toppings and sauce were very good but the rest of the crust was soggy and limp. Very disappointing, probably won't order from them again. read more

I have not been to Giordano's for many years. Every time, we went with some of our family members from out of town, who are very fond of Chicago deep dish pizzas. I did not know that this restaurant is indeed quite touristy. Last Wednesday evening, our group of 10 went to Giordano's, my hubby and I followed a shuttle bus in their parking lot (BTW, beware of pot holes in the parking lot), it was from a local hotel that dropped off around 30 tourists to the restaurant! These group of customers sat along the tables that were semi-booths along the wall, where we usually were seated. We sat right next to them at the long table put together by several tables. So, it can get busy even on a weeknight! We made the right move by ordering our deep dish pizzas ahead of time, since it took them 45 minutes to make! We pre-ordered 2 large and 1 medium deep dish pizzas, namely Meat & More Meat, Chicago Classic, and Make Your Own with sausage and pepperoni. At the restaurant, some of us also ordered Greek Salads and a House Salad, an order of Fried Mozzarella Triangles, and a Fettuccine Alfredo with Chicken and Broccoli (fettuccine was a big portion). There were so many leftovers! I am not a big eater, and could hardly finish one slice of the Chicago Classic deep dish pizza, which did not have too many ingredients in it. I only saw a couple of small mushroom slices in my slice. There was only one thin slice of pepperoni in my hubby's slice, and one of my sisters' slice was basically all cheese as well! Maybe we had taken too long for everyone to take photos, my slice of pizza was only lukewarm. So, I have no idea if the pizza came out lukewarm or not. Hubby's Greek Salad was fresh enough to meet his standard. The Sprite that I ordered was rather tasteless and did not taste like Sprite at all. Hubby and I feel that the food was just average. However, service was surprisingly good! A shout out to our server, Emma, who was very pleasant and attentive. She was very patient and happy when she helped us take a group photo. She even made a headcount on the cell phone photo to make sure that everyone was in it! The restaurant closes at 9:00 PM on Wednesdays, the group of tourists were picked up at 9:15 PM by their shuttle bus, we left right after them. There were still several other tables there. This pizza exceeds expectations! It has so many layers of cheese, meat sauce and repeat! I know it must be a painstaking process to deliver the same quality every time! I was busy working while on vacation in Chicago and my hubby says I'm getting us Pizza. He tells me he's at Giordarno's and I'm like yes! I know the pizza will be tasty and it was! Giordanos is our favorite deep dish pizza. However the service we got from this location was unacceptable. On 10/1/2025 I went on line and placed an order for delivery and the system indicated that my order would be delivered in 60 to 75 minutes. When I placed the order I elected not to enter a tip amount because I normally like to provide service workers with cash tips After 90 minutes I called and was told by the person that answered the phone that they couldn't get anybody to accept the delivery. At the time, I did not know what that meant but I would find out later. She went on to say that she would try to get someone else to accept the delivery and would call me back within 10 minutes if she was not successful. 15 minutes later I called back and was told that she was unsuccessful in getting anyone to accept the delivery. So I had to go and pick up the pizza myself. When I arrived at the Giordano's location the manager apologized for their DoorDash contractor not accepting the delivery. When I placed my order there was nothing that told me that a third party like DoorDash delivered for them but it explained a lot because I assume that the DoorDash driver did not want to take the delivery because there was no tip on the order. This obviously was completely unacceptable, but when a company outsources a key function like the delivery of their product, they open themselves up to this type of serious service failure. To allow a third party to dictate whether or not a product that I paid for gets delivered to me is completely ridiculous and it is atrocious customer service. I will never order my favorite deep dish pizza from this location again. read more

Our waitress GeGe was super kind and attentive to our needs..from straws, extra plates, napkins and to taste the Sangria before we purchased. I've always loved this place for true Chicago pizza. You could certainly say I grew up with this place. When we moved near a location it was tempting to go here a lot but we had great self control and made it a once awhile treat. Sometimes a me and my dad go get the pizza on the corner when my mom was mad at us. Lol Anyways a true Chicago's deep dish stuffed pizza with tasty quality tomato sauce which is not chunky but smoother just how I like it. The pizza is tasty and they have a super veggie pizza which is great and a great value with so many ingredients. A small thing but I love how oregano is put out on the table in a shaker when most pizza places act weird and don't have it when I ask for oregano. To me a must have on pizza! Giordano's gets it! I also find their house salad great. It's not your typical boring house salad. Instead it has a lemon vinaigrette dressing and fresh Asiago cheese. The atmosphere is an old world pizza parlor casual and inviting. All in a all a quality authentic Chicago deep dish pizza place. The owner should be ashamed of themselves. 4 people working her. 1 server, 1 phone guy, and 2 cooks. Had to place my order at counter which is fine. They give you bottled drinks that were hot, I had to go back and ask for cups with ice which took sometime. Why would you serve hot drinks with no ice? Every time I walked up to front each one of the 4 workers were always playing on their cell phone. Not a good experience to customer. I blame the owners. If employees are not supervised they will slack. They're obviously not paying these people much. If a manager was on duty then they need an upgrade. Horrible experience. This was a good pizza place to dine at. The first day we were visiting my brother, I wanted to get a Chicago style deep dish pizza and it cross off from my to do list. My brother recommended this restaurant and we headed out here. The restaurant has a lot of seating. It was a busy Saturday night. All the tables were occupied and we took the last remaining large table. There was not much activity at this complex so the parking lot was near empty. There are TV's on all walls playing ballgames, etc. This is definitely not a restaurant to have a quiet meal. Families like ours will also ensure that the place is loud. Be forewarned. *Laughs* Our server Jason was very polite and helpful. He recommended menu items. He brought the kiddie drinks and kiddie items out ahead of the regular order to placate the hangry kids. Great job by him. We ordered the following: Chopped salad $6.25 Family Chicken Fettuccine. $27.45 Small stuffed super veggie deep dish $21.25 Small extra thin pesto pizza. $13.25 Kids boneless bites $4.95 Kids Pepperoni pizza $4.95 Total $85.13 with tax Kids absolutely tore into their pizza, boneless bites and pasta. Price point and the portion size is very good value on kids items. (+1) I love love love loved the Super Veggie deep dish. The amount of vegetables in the pizza gave me the feeling of eating a fresh baked delicious salad that had cheese and breadsticks embedded into it. That would be the only way to describe the Super Veggie. I could only finish 2 slices of this pizza. Needless to say, I had delicious pizza every night for the rest of my stay in Chicago. I've gotten food from this location twice and both times were great. I had the food delivered most recently (the last time I picked up). The food arrived promptly at my scheduled delivery time and it was still warm. The food was delicious and the driver was really nice. We ordered a large deep dish with sausage, mushrooms, extra cheese and well done. We did this online. I wasn't feeling well and was happy to see they could deliver to Mundelein. The order was only about 5 mins late which is no biggie. However our pizza wasn't cooked all the way. We ended up dissecting the pizza and ate the toppings off of about half of it. The only crust that was fully cooked was the outter crust. The cheese in the middle wasn't all the way melted and all the rest of the dough was still raw. When I called to complain I was asked to take pictures of the dough and email them. I did this right away and then threw the rest of the pizza out..... in the dumpster. A different person called me after reviewing the photos and wanted more photos of what was left. I told him I already sent pictures and have thrown out the rest. The manager repeated you threw it out, in a way that made it seem like I was lying. I said yes why would I keep an undercooked torn up pizza? He asked if they could make another one and bring it. I said no this is our first time using this location and won't be going back. He wanted to know what could be done to make us happy. I told him to refund half of the money since we did eat at least half the toppings. I was told they can't refund anything on closed checks, but would give me a credit. I proceeded to tell them a credit is useless since we aren't going back. He was chuckling repeatedly while saying they are good at what they do and want to make me happy. We ordered delivery on New Year's Eve and they said it would be there in an hour. Chicago style because that's what to order when visiting. An hour came and went and we tried to call, guess what they're closed. So finally 40 additional minutes late it arrives. Warm, not even hot. I visited Giordano's for lunch on Oct. 20. My friend and I were working that day and didn't have much time, so we each ordered the pizza lunch special -- a personal-sized pizza and side of garlic Parmesan fries -- because we were told it would be ready faster than the deep dish we would have preferred. The pizzas were small and simple, and the fries were generously portioned. It was a nice amount of food and the lunch special was only about $8. I'll definitely keep Giordano's in mind for future lunches, but my priority is to future for deep dish when I have more time to spend there! read more

SERVICE SUCKS!!!! We are from out of town visiting our son, who just moved here. If in Chicago must try legit deep dish pizza, right? Not sure if this is a franchise deal or if they're all corporate owned, regardless whoever the owner is need to take a serious look at their service issues. We walked in, around 8pm Friday night, there were four people standing behind the counter who greeted us. Very nice, they sat us gave us menus and told us the waitress would be by in a minute. A minute turned into five minutes, then 10 minutes, then 20 minutes. Went back to the front and told them ready to order and they said we had to wait for the waitress. Meanwhile the same four people were standing back there just talking with each other. Waitress finally took our order and complained how they were short staffed and it was just her waitressing that night. My question is what are the four people behind the counter doing? The entire night food was slow getting out. We had to ask a few times for water, she finally just brought a pitcher of water and set it down on the table. Which is fine. Every time she came by to do anything she just complained about how it was just her they're having to do all the stuff. Once again the same for people stand behind the counter just laughing telling jokes among some selves. With nothing to do. This looks like to be a constant issue with this location. The problem is the pizza is really good. I hope a competitor eventually moves in serves similar pizza but with much better service. The service got to a point where it was legitimately embarrassing.
