Went there with five other people to celebrate a friend's birthday. I've had Giordano's several times prior but no one else had been there before. Although they were very crowded being a Friday night, the waiter went out of his way explaining the menu and surprising our friend with large piece of birthday cake. Pizza pie, as always, was awesome. Giordano's is a must for anyone visiting Chicago, but eating Giordano's pizza at the Navy Pier is really something special. We were seated at the high tops in the bar section, and our server did not seem super busy and checked on other tables but we were left sitting there for quite a while. We decided to try this place out when we first got to the Navy Pier. I'd recommend putting in your name and order first and then walking around the pier to kill time. It was definitely a very long wait but I expected that in such a tourist heavy spot on a Saturday night. The pizza was very good to my standards. GIORDANO'S!!!!!! When I walked into this beautiful building, the smell wafted into my nostrils. My mouth began to salivate. The thought of deep dish pizza. We sat down at a wobbly table right when they opened (11am) and had to wait about 35 mins for it to come. We got the small pepperoni deep dish pizza and boy, was it something special. I'm tearing up just thinking about it. Every bite was cheesey goodness. Mmmmm good eats. The pepperoni was layed to perfection and the crust was perfectly cooked. My flub was happy. Go here. Worst place ever a total tourist trap. We went there and was told the wait would be about an hour and a half and we would need to pre-order for our Piazza so that way we won't need to wait when we were seated. 2 hours later we were finally seated but unlike what we were told where our piazza would be ready right away we had to wait another 30 min for our piazza by this time we had already waited for 2 hour 30 minutes and when the piazza came our it was not even that hot. I would definitely say that this location is not worth the wait. I cannot speak to their other locations but say yourself time by going somewhere that serves you hot piazza and not that long of a wait. read more

This place gets really busy, and the service suffers because of it. We tried the calamari, which came out with fried pickles peppers and fried lemon slices - very tasty. We also tried our second deep dish of the trip. There was a ton of cheese and sauce, but hardly any sausage or onion. They definitely skimp on the toppings here. You are paying to be at a known tourist trap at the pier, so I would recommend heading to one of the other known pizza joints in town before coming here. read more

The deep dish pizza was fabulous, but the service was terrible. Waiting time was 40 minutes so, to save time, they kindly told us that we could order the pizza in that moment, so that we could have it ready when sitting. But once seated, they said that our pizza was being prepared. Well, we had to wait 50 minutes to have it!! And then, guess what: we had no plates nor cutlery. We asked for the plates (supposing that they would bring us the whole set of cutlery and napkins too). After asking 3 times and waiting for 15 minutes, they finally brought us the plates. But what about the rest??? So we had to ask for the cutlery too. Another 10 minutes waiting. And guess what! they brought us plastic cutlery because they didn't have clean ones!!! How were we supposed to cut the tick pizza with that? Fortunately, somebody brought us the metal cutlery. Now we only missed the napkins...So after being sitted for 1h15, we could finally eat. By the way, our check was on the table before even finishing our meals. Awesome. read more

This Giordanos is the WORST!!! We arrived on a Saturday afternoon at 1:20 pm expecting a wait which we were fine with. We were quoted a 45 minute wait and told them we would be willing to sit outside, whichever was available first. We ordered our pizza ahead of time at 1:40. At 2:20, I went to the host to check on our table as I had not heard anything. I was told we were next in line and we would be seated soon. 10 minutes later, still haven't heard anything, we asked the host again when we would get our table. They told us "any minute now". By 2:35, after waiting for an hour and fifteen minutes, I went back to the manager and asked if they had a table for us or not. She looked at me and said "well if you want to sit outside, we can seat you now". We told them an hour and fifteen minutes ago that we would take first available!!! So when we finally do get to our table, it's another 5-10 minutes til our waiter comes by and when he does, he just drops plates off and says he will be back. Another 5-10 minutes pass and he comes back and we tell him we pre ordered our pizza and it's probably ready since we ordered it over an hour ago at this point. He says he will go get the pizza right away and then get our drinks. He returns with our pizzas within 5 minutes and takes our drink order. We start eating. And we keep eating. No drinks. Everyone at the table finishes their first slice of pizza while we watch our waiter bringing drinks and food to other tables. We finally flag him down and he runs in the back because he knows we are asking about our drinks. Fifteen minutes after we order them and after we all finish our pizza, our drinks arrive and our waiter tells us "sorry guys it's a big restaurant so sometimes things take a bit longer". Excuse me?? At this point we have been at this restaurant for over two hours, of which only fifteen minutes has been spent with food in front of us. REALLY?!?! This was the WORST experience I have ever had at any Giordanos. Probably at any restaurant. No management or anybody came to apologize or offer condolences for the fact that we waited over 30 minutes longer than our quoted time and because of that our pizza was not fresh and had obviously been sitting under heat lamps for a significant amount of time. DO NOT GO HERE!!!! Go to any other Giordanos but this one!!!! read more

The Giordanos in Navy Pier is my favorite Giordanos spot. I love that you can eat outside in the patio. The deep dish pizza never fails & is always perfect. Not only is the pizza good but the appetizers are also satisfying. The wait is never long. Our server was super nice and gave us enough attention. The manager Gladys is amazing ! Every time we visit she comes to our table and makes sure everything is fine and asks if there's anything she can get for us. She is very friendly and makes you feel welcomed. Hands down better than Lou Malnati's since Giordano's crust was much lighter. Apps were good too. Be prepared to wait a while for pizza - up to an hour. I'm not sure if we just got super lucky, but our wait was only expected to be 30 minutes. The host offered to let us order our pizza before we got seated because they take about 1.5 hours to cook which was very neat. Luckily we just got done choosing what we wanted when they managed to get a table and we were seated less than 5 minutes after we showed up. Giordano's is always a must when coming to Chicago! Classic stuffed deep dish. I think this location might have just opened not too long ago, the decor is a lot more modern than the other one on Randolph. We got there right as they opened at 10AM and ordered a medium Chicago Classic stuffed (pepperoni, mushroom, green peppers, & onions) deep dish. We were told that it would take about 30 minutes since we were the first ones there but I would suggest having a light snack before coming here later in the day because I'm sure it gets packed. We traveled to Chicago for a short two day stint and this was top of the list of things to do. We put our order in at the counter around 8pm and came back when a table was available. We ordered an appetizer and an entree in addition to the pizza we had ordered. The appetizer arrived as well as the entree but our pizza took at least another 45 minutes for a total of about 2 hours that we waited on our pizza. Our waitress was not apologetic or attentive at all. She had told us our pizza would be out soon but it was probably another hour before it came out without another comment about it until we'd asked for the manager. People all around us that had come in after us received their food before us. Waters weren't refilled ( offered only after we asked for the manager ). The manager was apologetic and took the pizza off of our bill which was appreciated but we basically missed the night time navy pier experience we came for to wait for a pizza that didn't come until after we brought it to the managers attention. I've been a waitress and completely understand being busy and I'm usually pretty gracious about things being slow but we were basically ignored until we asked for the manager. Not even forgotten about but just not attended to at all. There was another table near us that we could tell were experiencing the same situation. It was sad. read more
