I love the original Giordano's in Chicago, and this location is just as great! I stopped by for lunch on Saturday and grabbed a seat in the bar area. It wasn't very busy, and the manager and server were super friendly and attentive. I started with the house salad, which was very fresh and a nice size for a "starter", and for my meal, I had the personal pizza. I wasn't sure how long the pizza would take since the menu says the regular size ones take about 40 minutes, but my pizza was up within about 15 minutes! It was piping hot, with the perfect melted cheese pull that you'd expect from Giordano's. Overall, food and service were exceptional, and I'd definitely come back when in town. read more

The deep dish pizza is what its known for so thats what I got and it was really good having the small veggie pizza for 18$ and it would fill three people if you ordered one. They said it would take 45 minutes to cook but it came out at the 27 minute mark and I was very surprised and happy when it did because it was hot fresh and ready to eat. I do like the fresh tomato sauce on top with the veggies inside even though it takes some getting used to but overall, it was really good!! The crust on the bottom and sides weren't burnt at all and was the lasting touch to a great pizza. Would go there again just for the pizza alone! read more

I was in town for a week long conference which means it was time to try out all the local restaurants I could. I was wandering around places near the Hyatt Regency Downtown and stumbled upon this place. It's right next to Buca Di Beppo which I thought was a bit ironic but location, location, location I guess. Anyway, I thought I'd give it a shot when I walked by the open door and it smelled awesome inside. After a quick cruise of the menu I landed on the Meat and More Meat - Deep Dish. It was just for me so I ordered a small. They told me it would take about 35 minutes which seemed a bit on the long side but he mentioned because it was the deep dish, it takes longer to bake. It was fine so I sat at a table and grabbed a beer while I watched the game. Sure enough as promised, it was ready in 35 minutes. When I was handed the pizza, I immediately was glad that today was "leg day" and not "arm day" because this thing felt like it weighed 80 lbs!!! LoL... OMG this was a legit deep dish pizza. He laughed when he saw the look on my face and said, "First timer eh?" I couldn't believe how many toppings, cheese, and sauce you could get on one pizza. This thing was total beast mode. I'm glad I didn't get a Medium or a Large because I would have had to bring it with me on the plane and pay for additional luggage. I get back to my hotel room and open the lid to find a beautiful sight. It smelled amazing and tasted even better. The crust was thick but didn't taste too heavy. The outside was lightly crisp with the inside being so soft and slightly sweet in flavor. The meats were all delicious and the sauce was good but not over powering. Being a native Chicagoan living in Las Vegas, I sorely miss good, Chicago pizza. While we have "Chicago" pizza in Vegas, they fall short of hitting it on the nail. We had a great delivery dinner from Giordano's. We got a small deep dish pepperoni, garlic cheese bread, and kids spaghetti. The pizza was delicious as always, but the cheesy garlic bread wasn't my favorite. It smelled great, but the flavor just wasn't there. Yeah, so this place was the first place we went for food during our trip to USAV nationals. We felt very odd being the only table ordering thin crust when everyone is ordering deep dish pizza. ANIMALS!!!!! lol. The food was great. The pizza, sauce, cheese to meat ratio was spot on. The crust was awesome, not soggy or over-cooked. My husband and I went to dinner and decided we wanted to dine out and get some pizza. Although I have been at a different Giordanos location, I think this restaurant fits downtown perfectly. When you walk in, the environment is cozy and the customer service is great. I am a FAN, of pizza like it's a necessity in my life. We ordered a deep dish, with chicken sausage, and banana peppers. Well as part of my lunch time tour I decided to visit Giordano. This place was a great lunch stop. They had a reasonably priced lunch special that includes an entre and a side of your chosing. I ordered the 6 inch pepperoni pizza with fries and it took less than 5 minutes for me to get my food. The pizza is Chicago style and they have strawberry lemonade too (score). Greeted us and kindly asked if we wanted a table or booth we got a booth as we asked for one but the problem that we had was the server I came into today wanting to take my grandchild here to enjoy some famous deep dish pizza the food was great but our server for lunch was horrible he came up to the table didn't introduce himself and seemed like he had a horrible attitude my granddaughter being 9 years old tells me and says he doesn't seem happy.that there says a lot. as I was walking to the bathroom he was complaining about a table asking too many questions ...that table sadly was us! We asked how the special menu was and if it was too spicy or hot for my granddaughter to try. he said (well maybe) never got his name too at this point . I stumbled into Giordano's with a date while walking around downtown -- I had no idea there was one here, in addition to the location near Keystone Mall! I'd been meaning to check it out, so we walked in and hoped there wouldn't be too much of a wait. We got lucky on a Saturday night and were able to snag two seats at the bar. Unfortunately, that's where our luck ended. From the start, service was nearly non-existent. It took nearly 20 minutes for the bartender to even acknowledge that we were there and, after taking our initial drink and meal order, he did not so much as look our way. My date had to practically yell the bartender's name just to check on the status of our pizza after we waited an additional 45 minutes with not so much as a glance our way from him. Once we finally got our pizza, nearly an hour and a half after setting foot in the restaurant. It was delicious (ordered the deep dish Chicago Classic to split), but our enjoyment of it was dampened by the poor service. At the end of the meal, my date, once again, had to wave and yell to get the bartender's attention so we could get the check. It was a very odd and uncomfortable experience -- it very much felt like the bartender may have been racist. We saw the same bartender not only check on repeatedly but also make extensive small talk with couples on either side of us multiple times, then proceed to completely ignore us. Had our bartender just looked our way and checked on us occasionally, we would have ordered at least 2-3 more drinks and an appetizer over the course of the night, which would have meant a bigger tip for him. I'm willing to give another Giordano's a second try sometime because the pizza was so good, but I will never return to this location. A terrible experience I do not care to repeat. read more

I was craving a deep dish pizza and was ready to also go back downtown now that the virus is past us. Giridonos is one of the big makers of deep dish pizza from Chicago. I don't eat this type of pizza very often as it is very filling and well most likely not healthy whatsoever. But it tastes so good. So we ordered one of the deep dish pizzas it wasn't very busy but note a deep dish pizza will take a minimum of 30 minutes to bake so don't go here expecting to get a pizza fast. They have good appetizers like garlic bread to tide you over. Service was great and the facility is convenient to the nearby circle center garage or close to most major downtown hotels. They have a nice bar here as well. I was disappointed they had slimmed down the dessert menu, no tiramisu. My only minor observation on this visit was my cheese didn't get fully melted in the center aka I think around 5 more minutes would have gotten the center fully melted. read more

I've not made it a secret that I love deep dish pizza, and specifically, Giordano's. I'm still extremely bitter that Dayton has one and Cincinnati still doesn't, but I guess that doesn't matter much for the Indianapolis review. Their pizza is consistently cheesy and delicious. I rationalized that she picked dinner the night before and it was my turn. She agreed, but looking back she may have chosen a better lunch option. We came in to a well air conditioned restaurant, which is absolutely crucial in this heat. I. AM. DYING. Anyway, we took a seat and were aptly greeted by our server. She wasn't exactly unfriendly, but a bit difficult to find. I have a feeling she wasn't a kid person because the two tables next to us had children and I watched the interactions she had with them. It was awkward. Giordano's has an excellent lunch menu. For under $10, you can receive a personal pizza, pasta, or sandwich with a side and drink. I ordered the sausage deep dish with fries and my friend had the thin crust cheese with fries. The food took a surprising amount of time to come out. They say to allow 45 minutes for the deep dish to cook. I thought that meant full size pizzas, not the mini ones. I never asked if my pizza was the reason for our extended wait time, but I assumed it was a good bet because my friend's thin crust was ice cold and our fries were limp and bland. Her food could not be enjoyed without a hearty addition of ranch. Luckily my pizza was hot and filling because I left a good portion of my fries on the table. The saving grace for Giordano's is the ability to buy frozen pizzas and take them home in their insulated bags. I took a sausage and a spinach pizza home to Cincinnati safely and enjoyed them in the comfort of my house. I've never hesitated visiting a Giordano's, but I'd probably think twice about coming to this location. It's smack dab in the middle of multiple A+ lunch offerings, so if you really want the deep dish, maybe eat elsewhere and get some of their frozen pizza to go. read more

Visited Giordanos and placed a large carry out order of $200+ scheduled for a pickup at 10:45PM on a Saturday night - which is right before they close at 11PM. The young gentleman working the register was extremely helpful and accommodating, and provided extra plates, utensils, red pepper, etc. The only problem was when I arrived back to the location to deliver the order this was for, it was missing 3 entree salads. My fault for not checking the order prior, but nonetheless frustrating. Biggest problem being that this creates a huge time issue because Giordanos was then closed by the time I realized the issue, and now I had to rush to find something else for the people who this was for. All in all, the food was fresh, hot, super delicious, and all of the weird requests were nailed - just missing the salads. I called the next day and 'Bill' was super helpful and worked to make it right. I will definitely be back to give it another shot. read more
