I went to college in a suburb of Chicago and have fond memories of deep dish pizza from Yorktown Pizza and of course Gino's. I thought I'd give Giordano's a try the other "too lazy to cook" night so I logged on to one of the delivery apps and ordered. I asked for bacon, mushrooms, onion, black olives and broccoli plus a salad to fool myself that I was being healthy. The salad was good, love their Italian vinaigrette. The pizza was disappointing to say the least. Their pizza sauce is tasteless and 80% of the pizza is cheese. In the pictures you'll see some oregano I added to try to add some flavor. You won't see much of the veggies I paid for, I'm guessing mozzarella (sp?) is cheaper than veggies. We all know how flavorful cheap mozzarella is, right? My second adventure trying out new pizza restaurants has gone down in flames. read more

I know that Giordano's is known for its Chicago style deep dish pizza but I love me a good thin crust. So when I went here for lunch with my mom the server suggested the extra thin and it did NOT disappoint!!! This sausage mushroom and onion pizza was a stand out!! Came out hot with bubbly cheese cut into nice small pieces. Fabulous. The minestrone soup was really good as well and the honey mustard vinaigrette ( again suggested by the server) was also fab. Definitely coming back. Nice to go boxes as well. read more

We arrived and were seated quickly. Matter of fact I never saw anyone wait for more than just a couple of minutes. Order was taken quickly and drinks arrived in matter of minutes. The bruschetta was hot and delicious and it arrived quickly. We ordered our pizza and it took a little longer than most pizza places but it was worth the wait. We had several slices left over and took them home. It was just as good warmed up as it was fresh. The only complaint was listening to one waiter complain every time customers were placed in his area. The lady that was sitting them told they were requesting the look out area and he really didn't care what they wanted. He was polite to the cutomers but not his fellow employees. Once again, I'm always happy to see staples from up north make its way to Indy. Giordano's doesn't disappoint. I've only dined in a few times. Usually, I'd just order online and pick it up to avoid the crowds. This particular Saturday afternoon wasn't crowded as my friend and I made our way to sit in the bar area. Our server Miya was absolutely amazing. She was very attentive and made sure to check on us throughout the entire time we were there and even gave us a refill on our drinks to go. It had been a while since I've had Giordano's so I was quite surprised to see that they had an option for an individual sized pizza that was about 4 slices (see photo). First, let's get one thing straight, if you order the Chicago Deep Dish Pizza, it usually takes 45 minutes to cook it. Afterward, it takes a few minutes to cool down unless you want to burn the roof of your mouth. Yeah, it would be like eating hot lava. So, the people complaining about the length of time to get their food, talking specifically about the pizza have either never ordered a Deep Dish or are just impatient. 45 minutes is still 45 minutes even if you raise hell. Do yourself a favor and order an appetizer. Also, we have visited during the week and weekend. I will say that it is much easier to find parking during the weekday than in the evenings or weekend. read more

I've stopped at this location a few times while traveling through Indy and it never disappoints. We were sat right away & drink orders taken. We went with a medium deep dish, split with custom toppings. The pizza was out in 40 min and as delicious as always. I think between the time we were sat and I paid the bill was only about 75 min, which wasn't bad considering the extended cook time for the deep dish. I even got a few to go! Each ingredient, alone and together, tastes like microwavable grocery store mass produced frozen pizzas. Tastes just like Totino's frozen pizza bites for example. From the Grocery store, grab some Hormel Pepperoni, a jar of Prego, a generic raw Pie Crust and store brand shredded Mozzarella..... same taste..... Epitome of Meh. We got a Chicago Style Deep Dish with Pepperoni. The service was good, though I don't believe in adding stars for service, only subtracting. I'd never choose to go there again. Hostess with green winged eyeliner seated me right away which I thought odd for a Saturday night on a holiday weekend. I told her my husband would be in shortly and on crutches. She said she would direct him to me. My husband was struggling to get his mask on and maneuver the doorway with his crutches. The hostess rudely told him to put on his mask while ignoring his struggle to open the door. Once he finally got inside without help, she merely pointed him to the bar where I was sitting. So there's that rude girl. The bartender was our server. He was attentive, helpful, but not overly talkative. The food was good but not fabulous. I recommend the Sampler appetizer! Great chicken bites and mozzarella triangle. The garlic bread was nothing to write home about. We ordered a deep dish pizza. I kept hoping for a bite of buttery crust, but they just don't have it. That's definitely unfortunate. Beers were $5+ each which I thought was a little steep. But I also don't drink very often. read more

You can't go wrong with Giordano's pizza, although I must admit I am on Team Gino's East when it comes to Chicago-style deep dish pizza. That being said, Giordano's is GREAT! I went with a party of 4 on a Saturday night and as expected, they were packed to the point we could not even get into the door. We were quoted a 45 minute wait time, but were texted to be sat after about 10 minutes. Our server greeted us and was very friendly throughout the evening. We ordered a large pizza to share and she warned us that it would take about 45 minutes to cook. Unfortunately, it took significantly longer and closer to an hour and 15 minutes. The tables nearby us who had sat down after us were receiving their pizzas before us, even though we had ordered the same size pizza. We also noticed during this waiting period how uncomfortable their seats are. They are wooden chairs that look like they should have a cushion on them, but there was none. We ordered a custom pizza with chicken sausage, onion, garlic, and spinach, which was phenomenal. The chicken sausage was seasoned to perfection and added so much flavor to the pizza. The garlic was put on heavy and overwhelmed the pizza. As a garlic-lover, I didn't mind, but if you're less inclined to fight off vampires with your post-pizza garlic breath, you might want to avoid it. All in all, it was a delicious pizza and a pretty good experience, just be prepared to wait-- to get inside, to get your pizza, etc. read more

WOW- I am really impressed with this locations customer service. I'm from Chicago so I love Giordanas. I have ate at this location a few times this year. Every time was pretty good (I kept going back) and I gave a review before stating how good my experience was. My most recent experience wasn't up to their usual standard. I left a review not expecting a response, and within 24 hours the general manager Betsy reached out to me. I honestly wasn't even expecting them to care, because most restaurants, especially franchises don't really respond....but that wasn't the case. My issue was rectified far beyond my expectation. I'm so glad to know where others don't care about the customer service experience- Giordanos does. This is the closest to home(Chicago) pizza I get here in Indy and I'm glad my concerns matter. read more

Great place for lunch. On my first visit there with friends for lunch, I found a great lunch special of certain personal size pizzas plus a salad for only $7. You also get a discounted drink for a little more. You can order regular or thick crust and it only takes about 10-15 minutes to bake, even the thick crust. I wanted a lighter lunch and was totally satisfied with 1/2 of a personal size regular crust pizza with sausage, and a nice Caesar salad. The menu also includes calorie counts, which is helpful to choose reasonable portions. On a weekday there was plenty of room in their spacious dining room and friendly wait staff. I feel completely ripped off my this place. Walked in to pick up my order a few minutes early. I asked the hostess (a short girl with short colored hair and glasses in case a manager happens to read this) if I may have a seat at the bar and have a drink while I wait, and she tells me there is a 20 min wait to be seated. The bar has 12-14 places to sit and only 3 were currently occupied, so thinking she misunderstood that I just wanted to have a seat and a beer I reiterated that the whole bar was empty and that's all I wanted. To which she replies with an attitude "I mean, you can sit at the bar but there is a 20 min wait and the bartender probably isn't going to be able to help you." Ummmmm ok. So as I walk to the bar she leaves the desk and walks straight away to the kitchen and all of the sudden my food which wasn't supposed to be finished for another 15-20 minutes per her, is magically ready. I get home to find a cold pizza with cold cheese and my wife's salad had been handed to me upside down and I am not for a second going to believe that it was unintentional. Oh my gosh! I've died and landed in pizza heaven! The best Chicago style pizza in Indy. So cheesy. So saucy. So perfect. I read the bad reviews on timing so I made sure to make a reservation and put our pizza orders in enough time to have them finished by the time we arrived. The pizza still came out about 10 minutes later than I made the reservation for but our group allotted extra time just in case. Our group of about 20 had lunch on a Tuesday afternoon. The pizza was fantastic! Hot and gooey cheese was stacked on our all meat pizza. One slice is enough to fill you up but I bet you go back for seconds. I also ordered their appetizer platter. The appetizer platter comes with breaded mushrooms, cheese bread, fried ravioli, and something else that I can't remember. The appetizers are mediocre but the cheese bread was decent.
