I've only gotten takeout, but every time the food has been fabulous and the deliveries arrive hot and in a timely manner. So far I've ordered from them four times. Pollo bolognese was the meal that I chose tonight. The entree was decent, however the birdseye rice and vegetable side killed it. Now, for the service, what service!? We didn't see the waiter one time after or plates were served until it was check time and my drink was long gone. The wife's clam dinner was good, however it would've been more enjoyable if the waiter would've brought bread. Had dinner at Guiseppe's last evening. The manager, Julio, immediately came to our table to say that they were pretty busy with several large groups, and that things might be a little slower than usual. We were so appreciative of his info, as we never had to worry about speed of service. In fact, things moved along quite well. They have an excellent, open yet toasty patio for dining with,both an excellent heater and plenty of fresh air.* They weren't that busy when we were there during the week, so they generously allowed our small party of two couples to sit at a table for six. This allowed us the right amount of space for conversation and to still maintain the appropriate social distance -- perfect! And their food is SO GOOD. Two of us had the chicken parmesan, one had eggplant parmesan, and the last had the rigatoni with Bolognese sauce, and all were excellent. And the stuffed mushrooms we had as an appetizer are to die for. We've eaten there many times over the years and have always, always been happy with our food, the service, and the wine choices. And we'll go back, again and again. Went to Guiseppe's for the first time for an early dinner. Was surprised that they have daily Happy Hour from 3 - 6 seven days a week. Our server Cassie greeted us, seated us and remained diligent in taking care of us. She was extremely pleasant and efficient. We dined inside because of the wind, but the patio (which allows 4 legged friends) looked great. The Mussels were delicious as was the bruschetta (both $8 on Happy Hour Menu). The chicken penne pasta was equally delicious and the pepperoni pizza was amazing. We had 2 delicious lemon drops ($6.00 on the Happy Hour Menu). The limoncello (they make their own!) cake was Heaven! 5 years living in Oro Valley and we just discovered this gem! You can call for reservations in advance as well. He could not stop bragging about the $18 bottle Malbec and the Osso Bucco, so upon his suggestion we ended up here on one heckuva monsoon evening. We were seated right away with a great view of the Catalina's and the monsoon. Our waiter was incredibly friendly and treated us like we had been there multiple times...like family, which is kind of the vibe I got from this place. A true Italiano restaurante where everyone knows everyone and kissing each other cheek-to-cheek is normal. After a while I realized we were the youngest people there and it seriously felt like a scene out of the Godfather. To me it didn't seem like your traditional Italian decor. It seemed a bit bland which struck me oddly for a while until I got used to it. I did as Jack suggested and ordered the Osso Bucco and my husband got the Malbec. I didn't dislike the Malbec, I just liked the Merlot he let me taste more. The hubs got the Manicotti. When our meals arrived we were both pleased but my meal, by far, was the more spectacular looking! Not only did it look amazing but it was probably enough food for the both of us. I didn't eat even 1/2 of it. Now I'm not a mushroom girl, so the shrooms in the sauce didn't excite me but my husband was more than happy to slop them up from me, especially since they were part of that rich, flavorful, amazing sauce. My meal was absolutely impressive and one of those meals that is very memorable. This is by far my new favorite italian restaurant in Tucson. Two words. Affordable Quality Your dollar goes a long way here, pasta from 8 to 12, veal, lamb and seafood dishes from 13 to 17. Always a dinner special. Traditional northern italian fare. Bolognese,picatta,marsala,cannelloni,osso bucco, eggplant park, chicken giovanni....you just can't go wrong. Also, this is one of the few places in Tucson that sell wine by the glass and bottle at a reasonable price all the time. I am so sad to write this review. I loved this restaurant - it was my go to. The last 5 times have been awful! The soup tasted like soap, the serving of spaghetti my son got was so small it would not even have been considered a child portion. Our food was horrid two visits ago, we complained and got a 30 dollar credit, on an over 100 dollar meal. Then we went back, and it was absolutely worse. I know these are tough times and awful circumstances, but when we ordered some dinner for pick up a few days ago, it was an awful experience. We ordered for a 6:00 o'clock pick up and we had to wait an hour after we got there. The food seemed like it had been sitting for a long time, it was cold dry, and just not good. I understand that this way of running a restaurant is not ideal, but if you can't make good food, and have it hot and ready on time, don't bother doing take out. We were a large work party, but it took 28 minutes to get water and bread, another 12 minutes to order our food, and another 40 to get our food. A going-away celebration for a coworker took 1:40. Noticeably, the two-top table next to us wasn't faring much better. The actual food was okay. Portion size was massive. I chose the special, which consisted of chicken and artichoke in a white wine sauce. Not bad, and for a decent price. While the food was decent, the yelp 2-star "Meh. I've experienced better" seems to hit the nail on the head with consideration of food quality and service. My lady & I ate at this outstanding Italian restaurant yesterday afternoon. This was the second time eating here & will be our do to Italian eatery in the future. I had the sausage & penne & she had the meatballs & pasta. Both were absolutely delicious. We shared a house salad also. Two draft beers & wine & we were ready for Tiramisu & 2 forks. My husband and I stopped into Guiseppe's Italian Restaurant today for late lunch early dinner. Fresh bread was brought to our table - a litle rosemary with other seasonings. Yum. My husband ordered the stuffed mushrooms & I ordered the Bruschetta for an appetizer. So very good. Loved the flavors on the Bruschetta. My husband really enjoyed the mushrooms. I ordered Chicken Parmesan for my meal and my husband ordered Fettuccine Alfredo and added chicken & sausage. The entrées came and everything tasted so good and was freshly made. Our server Joanna took care of us. If that wasn't enough - we ordered the cannoli for dessert. Just right, not overly sweet. Better cannoli than I've had in a long time. We love this place. The only problem is that it is on the wrong side of the universe from where we live. Still, we make the trip at least once a month and have never been disappointed. The stuffed mushroom appetizer is wonderful with crusty baked cheese all over the top. My wife loves the eggplant parmigiana and I'm a big fan of the penne sausage and the awesome meatballs ricotta. Our son prefers the fettuccine Alfredo with grilled chicken and if we don't bring some home for him, he sulks and whines. Because it is so far away, we bring leftovers home since you're lucky if you can eat more than half the monstrous portions they serve. We usually order extra dishes to take home so we don't have to cook for a week or so. The wife loves the manicotti and I'll either order the favorite I didn't eat in the restaurant or sometimes steal and eat the fettuccine if I'm mad at my kid. We usually go for lunch and enjoy the service. The service is usually laid back and fun. My ice tea is always full and the bread basket is full of chewy warm bread. The servers are friendly and enjoyable to be around without being intrusive. The restaurant is kind of hidden away in a strip mall corner, but very well worth searching out. The prices are very easy on the wallet and we make excuses to go up Oracle Road every month just so we can indulge in a little red sauce, cheese, garlic, and pasta. Excuses like, um... So we decided to try Italian and someone recommended this place. They said casual place. I was very nicely surprised. Beautiful little Bristol with an elegant touch to it. Best fancy restaurant in Pima county IMHO. Especially if you like authentic italian food. Not too expensive yet an amazing experience. Best time to come is Saturday and/or Sunday nights/evenings when they have live un-intrusive guitar playing outside. Worried about cold, sun, or rain? No worries it's shaded patio with heaters. We know italian food, have lived back east, and aren't shy around seafood (something that's hard to find here in Tucson, and no sushi doesn't count!) There's a particular waitress there who's the absolute best waitress i've ever had outside of fine dining. Her smile is full of warmth and she makes you feel cared for. Though this is sort of fine dining and there is always a chef making your food. It's quiet, can dine indoors if you'd like, the nearby shops are nice,...Tucson's best kept secret. No intrusive car noise either, especially towards night time. Way better than La Encantada or any place over in the Catalina Foothills other than the resorts. Better than most places downtown too imho. It's difficult to find good italian food in tucson, good service, good food, reasonably priced, quiet place, live music without being intrusive,...all in one. I swear, this is the only fancy restaurant in Tucson that is well-run, meets my standards, while not over-charging.
