Had a wonderful dinner here. I had the chicken Giovanni which was 3 large chicken breast covered with a delicious sauce. I opted for vegetables instead of the pasta or rice and they too were delicious and included artichoke hearts, broccoli and zucchini. We also shared an antipasto which was Hugh. It consisted of prosutto , salami , goat cheese, olives, asparagus etc. there was plenty to take home. My husband had pork carbonara which he said was delicious. He too opted for vegetables. We had an exceptional meal this past Friday night. Guiseppe's has a very nice atmosphere without being presumptuous like so many places that along with their stuffy attitude, also come with inflated prices. The service was impeccable and very friendly, as if they already had know us for awhile. I had a generous serving of muscles on a nice bed of pasta in marinara sauce. My wife had the cannelloni stuffed with white chicken. Again, very plentiful and tasty. There is a very small mark-up on their fine choice of wines. I ordered a pleasant red for $16.00 that would have cost me $25.00+ at other places on the north side. We ate on the patio 1/2 hour before sunset and watched the Catalinas turn pinkish red to the north east and then saw a glorious sunset through the patio to the west. What a great little restaurant!. We were in the mood for some Pasta, and found this on Trip Adviser, and the ratings were great, so we tried it and will go back. As we got out of the car in the parking lot, we could smell the aroma of some great food, and was hoping it was from this restaurant, and it was. What a well kept secret on Oracle. The food was delicious as always but the service by our waiter was awful! The service by the the lady taking care of water and bread was perfect. We could see her flying around the restaurant trying to keep customers happy. I ordered a glass of prosecco and my daughter was looking at the drink menu. He brought my drink took my daughters order and vanished--wasn't prosseco. A half hour later he brings my daughter's drink and says he will be right back to take our food order, a half hour later, we order I tell him about my drink I order a cabernet--never got it. The place was busy but not crazy busy like I have seen in the past, and crazy busy they had wonderful service and attention to their customers. Very disappointed. read more

Have been to GSP's a few times and loved it, however our last visit ended poorly. My pregnant wife at the time and I sat down and were not attended to for almost 15 mins. The restaurant was half-full, not that busy, and we saw plenty of servers. Being as we had a little one at home, we were pressed for time. We got up and left. When a waitress noticed, all she could say was "you're leaving?!", to which we replied, "no one even offered us a drink". She let us walk away without even attempting to save our business. Needless to say, we ended up at Carrabba's. Sad to give our $ to a chain vs a local biz, but that's how it went down. Hopefully if there's a next time, it will be better. read more

Nice atmosphere. Lackluster food. Inattentive service. Poor Management. So displeased with the experience I signed up for Yelp! We were looking for an Italian place with outdoor seating that could take reservations for a group of 7 with one days notice. They seemed to fit the bill. Service was slow, which is understandable if the place is busy and the food takes awhile to cook. They were out of the house wine, so rather than offer the next closest thing for the same price as a substitute, it was a take it or leave it attitude. Drinks were empty, we seldom saw the server, then an hour after we sat down the food came. There was a comment made about the long wait and the server apologized, then said"I didn't cook the food" That wasn't necessary or appropriate in my mind. We ate and asked another server for the bill and some boxes because we hadn't seen ours in awhile. When the bill came out we asked if the manager could come out. Some guy came out and stood at the end of the table and asked what was wrong. No introduction, no "How can I help". We explained we felt the service was slow and inattentive and we thought they should be able to substitute a the wine at the same price. He simply said they have had complaints about the server before and they couldn't do anything about the wine because they would loose money. He asked if there was anything else he could do. We suggested comp the meal. He offered free desert or appetizers for the next time. We said there would be no next time after the experience we had. He said if we were not going to come back then he wasn't going to do anything because it was a waste of money. I would think that you would want to try to do the right thing to protect your reputation, even if you loose a customer. Anyway, we all left with a poor perception of this place and the way it was run. I won't be returning. read more

I am not giving this place any stars. This will be the 3rd time we have visited and the service is terrible. We got there at 530 because I have a 3 and 6 year old and did not get out of there until 8. The food had sat under the warmer for at least an hour and the fish soup I ordered had enough sand in it to fill a white sand beach. I want so badly to be able to give Giuseppes 5 stars, the food is always on point, consistent and well plated, it definitely is not the reason this establishment falls short. Every time we give Guiseppes a shot, the service is less than stellar. Unfortunately tonight was the worst we've experienced, enough to warrant a review, which I never do. We were seated quickly, given than we showed up to a busy restaurant on a Friday night with no reservation, the patio is comfortable and spacious, so we had no qualms about sitting outside. All the heaters were going, which seamed excessive for spring time in Tucson, but it wasn't uncomfortable. We were greeted quickly, drinks were brought and our order was placed. So far so good. A bigger party was seated next to us in the same section, and that's when things started to get hairy.  Our appetizer was sent to the wrong table by mistake, but it wasn't brought to our attention until a good half hour later. During that whole 35 minutes, we were essentially ignored, our bread was empty, and our drinks were basically gone. We did get our appetizer shortly there after, but not even 2 bites into our mussels, which were fresh and had great flavor, our entrees were brought out. I felt we had no time to enjoy the mussels  for fear of eating a cold dinner. Our main courses, Shrimp Fettuccine and Clams with Fennel Sausage, were both wonderful, but we weren't checked on again until after we had finished our meal. We both work in the service industry with a decent amount of experience under our belts, so we understand that busy nights can be stressful. But this just seemed a little unreasonable. There are basics that should be followed, like making sure your tables have drinks and clearing excess dishes off a table. (If they don't need it, take it away!) If your servers are getting weeded, cut your floor smaller and bring in more help. Otherwise, nothing is going to change. We will continue to give Guiseppes a chance, it is definitely the best italian food in Tucson, bar none. I'm just hoping the service improves. It would pass at an Olive Garden, but such good food deserves to be highlighted by better service. read more

My wife and I visited Guiseppe's for the first time on Thursday evening. The atmosphere is wonderfully warm and inviting and and you are greeted with the most wonderful aromas! My wife had the Farfalle Bolognese and I had the Pollo Bollo. Both dishes were delicious! I had a couple of glasses of the Oro Montepulciano wine (very good) and my wife had a beer. We were both "stuffed" although I did find room for a great cappuccino. For wonderful traditional Italian food in a very pleasant atmosphere, Guiseppe's delivers. We will back even though Guiseppe's is 1.5 hours drive from our house. As a pricing note, the entire dinner was approximately $50; definitely a bargain for the qualify of food and ambience. read more

I don't even know where to begin to describe what had to be the worst dining experience ever, and I have been in a lot of restaurants here in town. However what compels me to write this review is not to be mean or condescending to anyone, but to point out a poor service and personal astonishment with it. My apologies in advance for a long review, but in order to justify the negative review, I have to cover the high points, and there are quite few. I have to admit that I was somewhat adamant about going to this place for Valentine's night dinner, but I heard positive feedback about good food and all the positive online reviews so I thought it can't be that bad, and so we made a reservation ahead of time. Upon arrival, there was a line at the door (which was expected being a Valentine's day), but once it was our turn to be seated, the girls at the front desk took 5 minutes to even acknowledge us let alone say anything such as "Hi" or "we'll be right with you" or "thank you for waiting," nothing. Finally a waiter took us across the patio to another section of the restaurant. We followed the waiter but he wasn't sure about which table to give us. He looked little confused, and so he pointed at the two-chair table that still had plates and dishes from the previous guests. He said "I'm sorry let me clean this up for you," so we stood there while he cleaned up the table so that we can sit. The table had a stained checkered table cloth which appeared to be wine stains (or worse) and it was set up right next to a high traffic path to the other section of the restaurant. Another waiter came over shortly with a bread basket and water. One of the water glasses was dirty and it had what appeared to be a little piece of parsley stuck to it. Needless to say at this point, the evening called for something stronger than water. After we got served drinks, it took almost an hour to get our food. When it finally arrived, I no longer had an appetite. Pasta was cold, dry, and hard, and it looked like it sat somewhere on a counter for an hour before being served, and the chicken strips in my salad were tasteless, rough on edges, and dry. The irony of this experience is that the entire time we were there, there were at least 20 staff members on the floor all the time, and yet they had no outlined serving process. Everyone looked confused, frazzled, asking guests if they ordered this and that, if they have been served, etc. It was chaos. The servers were hand gesturing to each other and grouping up in the middle of the restaurant to discuss the tables. Being seated in this high traffic area, there was a traffic "wind" (or storm) on our table the entire time from all the staff running around with trays and dishes, people coming in, going out, every single minute of the evening. Distracting, unprofessional, and simply terrible in every way. Nobody apologized for anything; they just went on with their business as usual totally oblivious to this catastrophic service. I noticed the other guests rolling their eyes too. I figured we can finally get the check and leave, but as everything else in this place, our check was wrong. It had an extra meal on it that we didn't order. The waiter said "oh my God" rolled his eyes, grabbed the book and left to correct it. Upon return he did busily say "sorry about that" handed it to us and left. Needless to say, this was the worst and most forgettable dining experience of my life. On a small positive note, there was a live music on the patio that deserves 1 star, and if it wasn't for that, we would have left right after drinks. After this experience, I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, not even for a day lunch, let alone a special occasion dinner. I understand that it was a busy night, but to get everything absolutely wrong was just beyond belief. read more

My brother and his wife recommended this place for dinner on Saturday night (UofA Wildcats game night). We had reservations for four of us at 8pm and though it was crowded, we were seated within five minutes. It was fairly noisy, but not objectionably so, and the tv was on the football game, still easy to have conversations. Food was excellent, each of us raved about our different dishes. Service was also very good and friendly. I'm still thinking about the pork with mozzarella. Prices were very reasonable. We all agreed we will be back soon . read more

I am Italian-American, lived in Italy, and am very particular about Italian food. I took my parents to Guiseppe's and it was a nice surprise. We loved our meals and the service. The portions are so generous, we had enough leftover to take home for another meal. The restaurants sits back from the entrance so you may need to look closely to find it. But, it is worth it. So much better than some of the other so-called Italian restaurants in Tucson. read more

We were so glad to see that this restaurant was one of few Italian restaurants in Tucson open on a Sunday night. I ordered the seafood "soup," which included scallops, shrimps, clams, mussels, and salmon, in a white wine and red pepper sauce, served with pasta and crostini- so delicious. My boyfriend also enjoyed the veal parm, and the bottle of Riesling we shared was perfect. The outdoor seating area isn't the best ambiance I've ever seen, but they did quite a good job, considering the restaurant is in the middle of a plaza. Inside, the lights seemed pretty bright for my taste, but most diners chose to eat inside anyway. Great family feel. Our server was great, and definitely worth returning to! read more

Wow! We thought we were back in south Philly at one of our favorite places! The food was terrific and the service was attentive yet not overly obsequious. We had caesar salad, house salad, mussels, shrimp scampi, stuffed mushrooms and a great bottle of wine. We'll definitely try the lamb osso bucco next time. read more

Awesome is all I can say...the price point is perfect and the wine (Glory Days, Lodi, Zinfandel) was fantastic. Had a reservation for 7, the place was packed both inside and out (the heaters are perfect) we were seated in a timely manner. Adam was our waiter and I would ask for him again as he combines the right level of engagement with perfect service. Took a party of six including a 5 year old, for a birthday celebration and the meal was over the top. We began the meal with Antipasto that was fantastic - goat cheese and olives were awesome. Chef Izzy poured his soul into the Minestrone as everyone at the table raved about the flavor. Our 5 year old loves the Fettuccine Alfredo so much she was not willing to share! The adults had Eggplant Parmesa, Bolagnese with bowtie, Meatball ricotta and the veal special each item was fantastic as we all shared. Big piece of cake and a chocolate creme brulee finished a fantastic evening. Izzy and his brother Josh have done a fantastic job establishing one of Tucson's finest dining establishments. read more

We were looking for a great Italian restaurant in Tucson, not too far from Marana to celebrate my Mom's 80th birthday. We were coming in from out of town and to make it even more challenging, my mom would not let me spend a fortune, but I still wanted a special place with a good atmosphere and delicious food. I ate the special which consisted of thin tender lightly breaded chicken ( 3 large pieces ) in a garlic / wine / herb sauce over a bed of linguini and artichoke hearts. Walking to up to the patio the aroma coming from the restaurant was fabulous! We had a table inside (a little noisy-very large party sitting next to our table) The patio would have been better. That aside our waiter, Will was attentive without being in your face and helpful in making a decision regarding wine choices. Food was amazing! I absolutely love Guiseppe's. My partner and I have become permanent fixtures, we eat there about 3 to 4 times a week and have yet to be disappointed. Having eaten in Italian restaurants all over the country I must say Guissepe's is in the top. We recently had a dinner party there with 7 of us. We enjoyed 4 appetizers, the stuffed mushrooms and manicotti are to die for, everyone had an entree, which we of course had to rotate the plates around the table so everyone could have a taste of each dish, followed by 4 desserts and of course the meal was accompanied by 5 bottles of wine (Malbec $14/ bottle, super delicious if you enjoy a medium bodied red wine). When the bill came we were all shocked to find the total was $173. I can not think of any other restaurant in town where we could have enjoyed quality fresh homemade food, delicious wine, amazing service, and overall an enjoyable atmosphere. Upon reading the other reviews I can understand how people feel it can be a little loud, I have been told it is definitely one of their top priorities. On a side note I'd prefer a little noise, by no means do we have to shout to have a conversation, with an enjoyable ambiance, friendly staff, delicious food and wine, and of course the low prices. As a business woman who is always on the go, I am thankful there is a restaurant where I can go and have home cooked meals that cost. less than going to the grocery store and cooking myself. They also don't mind doing special orders, sometimes I feel like something a little lighter and they are more than happy to do some sauteed spinach with grilled fish or chicken. read more

First timers at Guiseppe's.. I was basically born in the back of an Italian restaurant, so I am very picky.. I have been looking for a good one since moving here,, One that doesn't get it's marinara out of a can.. We ordered the antipasto as an appetizer (which is a complete meal all by itself.) I ordered the Cannelloni and my wife ordered the Meatballs Ricotta..The presentation looked exquisite.. Everything was beyond superb.. The Antipasto had a blending of flavors that complimented each other and was out of this world. The cannelloni sauce was seasoned to perfection, as was everything inside.. My wife said her dish looked good, tasted good and was way more than she could eat.. We had planned on getting a dessert, but we stuffed ourselves so much there was absolutely no room left.. From the moment we walked in we were quickly greeted with smiles and immediately given a table.. Our waiter Joe was very attentive and quick.. From the man bringing bread to the table to the lady filling water to our waiter, everyone was happy to be serving us and all did it with a smile..
