I went here for dinner with several of my other friends and it was a good place to go. The service was quick and the cashiers weren't complaining that my group was taking a while on deciding what to order. I stuck with the classic pepperoni pizza but when I looked at what other people around me have gotten, it looked like anything off if the menu is something to look forward o getting. Went here for lunch and the $5.99 for two slices and a drink is a solid deal. The pizza is freshly made but lacks that extra zest to set it apart from many other places. Best pizza in Rockville! Antipasti salad is also to kill for. Ask for the house ranch dressing. If they have one fault it is they give too much. If you ask for a toppings make it a half portion. Very simple but surprisingly not well executed most times and this was one of them. It was more lettuce than chicken, sauce on the side (which I think is tacky for a salad that isn't "fast food") and croutons. Those were good. I also got a medium fountain drink... All for the low price of $11.77! LOL SMH... Chick-Fil-A has better salad... And for them to be an Italian restaurant they should make one hell of a Caesar salad of ALL salads in the world! Stopped by for lunch around noon and while the place was busy they cranked out orders continuously. They have a pizza special that includes two large slices of cheese pizza and a large drink for $5.50 (you can add toppings for ¢.30 each). This is by the far the cheapest and best lunch option in the area. They offer countless other items on their menu but we only got pizza. I believe they bake the pizza twice, once before you order it and then once you customize your slices they bake it again. This is a major plus because the pizza is slightly thin and the crust has an awesome crunch. You can tell that it's a family owned business and they actually care about the quality of food they put out. We'll be back and you should check it out! read more

Have you ever gone to a restaurant after reading a bunch of exemplary reviews and wondered to yourself that you just might be caught in some reality TV version of the Twilight Zone? "This is the standard which I hold all other pizza."!? Perhaps I should write some erudite phrase to encapsulate the profound astonishment that I experienced while consuming Giuseppi's (if the owner's name really is Giuseppi) as to poetically delineate my nonplussed state, but nothing is more veritable than this pithy expression: Are these people fucking insane?!!!? While I must admit after sampling two pies (one cheese and one sausage) that this pizza is not rancid and it is actually consumable, but it is, without a doubt - sub par pizza. The only difference between this place and sbarro, is that you know that sbarro is barely passable imitation pizza when you go to eat there, but it's the only slice around and you are hungry, so you eat it anyway. Expectation = End result. Now, I almost never write a negative review about a Mom and Pop business, but I have a few reasons as to why I decided to air my opinion to the entire e-world about this place; 1. people need to not be falsely lead here due to exaggerated claims of pizza awesomeness. 2. this business obviously has some dedicated customers, so I doubt my review will have little to no effect on their sales. 3. Pittsburgh. But, as a former movie theater employee, I have taken a vow to starve to death before I pay $8 for popcorn. Right before the previews started, my stomach questioned the rationality of that vow, and I made a mad dash out of the theater next door and down to this place. I bought one slice to hold me over. The perfect slice! Giuseppi's was my go-to lunch joint when I worked for the District Court. I wish I could tell you about all of the wonderful types of food they serve, but I only have experience with the slice with mushrooms and green peppers. I would walk in every day and *try* to make my mouth say something else, but it was no use! You know what they say. If it ain't broke...The lunch special is just such an incredible deal! The crust is perfect, the sauce is great, and the veggies are FRESH. What more could you ask for? Even during the lunch hour rush, customers are turned out pretty quickly. And hey, if you've got to wait an extra five minutes, it's totally worth it. What's your big rush, anyway? The staff is always cheery and the kitchen area is wide open and clean. I ordinarily wouldn't give something that is just ok one star but this pizza sucked. We ordered a pepperoni pizza and the crust was raw. Yes, I said raw. The bottom was cooked to a crisp, the top was nicely browned but the top layer of crust right under the cheese was raw. How the hell does that happen?? It turned into a floury, globby mess in our mouths and we both couldn't finish it. The sauce has zero taste. None. And enough with the NYC comparisons people. "Giuseppi's New York Pizza" is disqualified from being a "New York" pizza joint for two reasons: 1. There's Steelers memorabilia on the walls 2. The pizza isn't good. I came across this idea a few years ago, and realized that it's completely true: being the go-to pizza place in Rockville throughout my youth, even way back when it was next to the old Magruder's, Giuseppi's is the standard to which I hold all other pizza. Maybe it's because I've gone and done something stupid like move to the veritable pizza desert that is Boston, but every time I open up a box anywhere else, I feel a pang of sadness at the knowledge that it just won't be as good as Giuseppi's: I mean, who can top that crust, with its perfect balance between slightly charred air bubbles and a nicely chewy interior crumb? What could be better than that amount of cheese, a beautiful, melty mess that still somehow holds to the slice after cutting? And what about those tiny pepperoni lurking UNDERNEATH THE CHEESE? Whoever thought of that should be given a meat medal. So, long story short, this pizza haunts my dreams. If you're ever stuck waiting for a movie at the Regal in downtown Rockville, there's no better way to kill time than by chowing down on a few slices here. In fact, head here first and get their movie special, which basically means you can order anything off of the menu and your movie ticket becomes $6. The only weird thing about this place is that it seems to be full of cops every time I go. Probably has something to do with the Justice Center being on the same block. Blegh... I am not that picky when it comes to pizza. It takes a lot to stop me from enjoying a hot slice. This was awful. The crust was bland (a water cracker has more flavor than this stuff) the cheese was beyond rubbery. Sauce was pretty simple, usually you can make up for bad crust with good sauce but this stuff had no zest... We ordered a large pepperoni & pinapple. Peperoni tasted like the cheap stuff you get at the grocery store. It wasn't spicy at all and was kind of weird in texture..... Almost chewy. They used crushed pineapple which I'd never seen done before, but thought it would be good..... it was near flavorless. There were clumps all over and it tasted as though it had been drained of all the juice and left out. I've never had such a boring & bland pizza in my life. I was actually really surprised because it looked great when we opened the box. But as I sit here looking at 3/4 of the pizza remaining I feel under whelmed thinking of leftover (which I usually am so thrilled to enjoy cold pizza from the fridge..) I'm considering finding a homeless person and giving it to them, but then I'd feel guilty for getting there hopes up with a pizza that looks so good but tastes so blah. We paid 20 bucks for the pizza and one drink and I feel almost taken advantage of. Domino's is better. Little Ceasar's is better. Hell, Chuck-E-Cheese is better. -_- I don't know what else to say. I have been to this family owned jewel on a number of occasions and I always leave with a smile on my face and a full stomach. The two top things to order here are the Philly Cheesesteak's (cheese whiz is an option) and New York style pizza that is can be bought by the slice. Is the cleanliness of this place questionable? Yes. Are the people rude. Most definitely. The man who was cleaning got angry because I walked behind him. Ummm sorry? So here is the deal. I went in there tonight and the floor was so filthy I was walking on tip toes. Unfortunately, I didn't notice until I had paid for my pizza and picked it up from the counter. It had looked like someone spilled soda and people tracked it around all over the dining area. There was also food all over the floor. I was shocked that people were dining in like they didn't even notice. Maybe it is a fluke because I've been here several times before and have never witnessed this. It also seems as though the pizza is going downhill. It doesn't have much flavor but 5.25 for two slices of pizza and a drink, can't beat that. A PIZZA must if you are in the area. The pizza is good with a delicious crispy and (usually) non-dense crust, savory red sauce and a nice blend of Cheeses that works well with the pizza crust flavor. When reheated and crisped in a toaster oven it gets better. Giuseppi's has become a regular stop, and that says a lot since I love to try different places with family and friends. In addition, Giuseppi's is a bit of a trek from my home. As for the service, on one occasion I made the trip to Giuseppi's and forgot my wallet. Since it is a drive, and it was rush hour, I gave it shot and asked if they would assist. They were so ingratiating, with slight hesitation, the manager indicated no problem, give us a call when you get home with your pizza and pay by phone with credit card. They didn't even ask for contact information, but naturally I gave my phone number and confirmed that I was a regular. Yes, I did call and pay for the pizza. Good service, kind staff, good Pizza (still not Jersey). All this and heaven too. Thank you Giuseppi's. *Nota Bene: Last Pizza I had was good, but seems like they were having a problem with dough, slightly raw in the middle and bit dense--not the norm. What more does a guy really need? So let's get into the food. Let me tell you something about pizza. It's cheap. Take it from a guy that made the stuff at the Bethesda Ledo in a former life. It's dough, tomato sauce, and cheese. Nothing pricey there. Prices at other pizza joints are at times ridiculous. Not Guiseppi's. Guiseppi's has a very reasonable "everyday" combo of 2 substantial slices of pizza and a soda for $4.50. While not something to get too excited over, it's one of the better deals I've seen. The pizza is crunchy at the bottom - which I like. Service was ok and food came out relatively quickly. I hope to go back here and try the subs.
