Date of visit: 1/4/2025 We visited the GK Mongolian BBQ for dinner on the night before heading to Tahoe. The price was about $16.25, and is all you can eat. They have turkey, pork, beef and chicken as the protein options, and many vegetables and sauces. Overall the foods were good and the service was decent too!

Hi-ya! The customer service here is pretty good. When we first entered the staff were friendly and welcoming--this also applies to the cooking staff. The place has a lot of al la carte options besides your usual Mongolian buffet--for example steamed buns, shrimp options, etc. The meats available foe the standard Mongolian bbq pricing are beef, chicken, turkey, and pork. The veggie selection and sauces are ok. I was surprised not to see sugar water as an option. I say sugar water, because this obviously sweetens the meat when cooking, but also has the extra water to help in the cooking process. I'm no chef, but I believe it helps. Anyway, the flavor was reasonable and everyone else seemed to get their fill. I think this place is ok. The place is clean, service good, and the bathrooms were very clean. Overall ok for our first time.

Lots of parking. Lots of seating options. We were immediately greeted and asked if we've been there before or it's our first time. She proceeded to tell us how it works. After putting on plastic gloves and filling our bowls, we added the sauces and handed it off t for it to get cooked. We sat down and were served rice, soup and soda! Our food was absolutely delish!!!! Can't wait to go again!

Great place for some Mongolian bbq. Not sure why this place has such a low rating. Every time I've been here, it's been very clean. I always go for lunch, so maybe that's why? Either way, the ingredients are very fresh. For lunch, you get a single bowl along with soup, rice and potsticker. Price is $14.25. If getting a fountain drink, that's an additional $3.15. Not bad, but not a bargain. The secret to a good Mongolian bbq is using a TON of sauces and oils. While they have a great selection of sauces/oils, their ingredient selection is a little on the smaller side for many of the Mongolian bbq places I've been. They do have all the basics and some extras that you don't always get like bok choy and fresh cilantro. And like I said, always fresh. The egg noodles are their own house-made noodles. The service has always been great. Very polite employees that are attentive to your needs. Great place to have a quick lunch!

It's been a long time since my last visit, and being in the area, I decided to stop by for a quick bite. First off, parking is a breeze; there's ample space for bikes, cars, trucks, or even a boat if you're towing one. Upon entering, I immediately noticed the changed layout, but it was still straightforward to find my way around. I filled my bowl, chose my sauces, and passed it to the cook. As I waited, the server/cashier prepared a bowl of rice, soup, a potsticker, and a Sprite for me. By the time I collected my food and returned to my table, everything was ready. The price was quite reasonable: my lunch was $14.25, and with a soda, the total came to $21.94, including tax and a $3.66 tip, which is 20%. Not bad at all. The meal was just as wonderful as I recalled, with portions so ample that I happily took the remainder home for another time. The restaurant wasn't crowded, yet it's spacious enough to accommodate a large number of guests. The staff were remarkably cordial, greeting everyone with smiles and a friendly attitude, which was particularly welcome in the sweltering heat over 100 degrees, where patience can quickly wear thin. With that, if you're feeling hunger pangs and you're near, drop in and enjoy... it's well worth it.

Yummy decision for dinner. You get soup, potstickers, rice and crispy wontons. Dinner is $16- $17. I love creating a tweaked version of my previous bowl to make it an even better creation every time. (The one rule is to stuff your bowl until it's OVERFLOWING with meat, veggies, pineapple, garlic and SAUCE) it will cook down to flavortown perfection. :)

Great service and value for dinner! The staff here was friendly and hard working. We enjoyed the all you can eat plus soup, and sides! Great & affordable dinner for two! The food was tasty and filling too. We will be back!

Stopped by Buckhorn for the first time for Father's Day lunch. Great joint for pretty good BBQ!…read more Buckhorn is an order at the counter and get a number type place. The line was long when we came in, but moved quickly. The bigger problem is that there aren't nearly enough tables for how many folks were dining in. We did end up finding a table on their patio- which is always a win for our family. For about $70, we got two kids' meals (one slider and one chicken tenders), a shareables order of the tri-tip tacos (that my wife ate as her entree), and a two-protein platter with the pulled pork and tri-tip. They asked how we wanted our tri-tip cooked, and we answered medium, but all of the tri-tip came out well done. The flavors of everything were good, though, and the portions are substantial. The kids' meals are a great value. The two-protein platter was enough for two meals if you wanted it to be. The tacos were filled generously and were very tasty. I enjoyed the coleslaw- though I read some others find it bland. I did not think that at all. I really enjoyed the selection of sauces available at Buckhorn. They have a pump-your-own-sauce station with several types of BBQ sauce, horseradish sauce, ketchup, and spicy ranch. Yum! My favorite was the mustard-based BBQ sauce. Overall, I would totally return to Buckhorn. I could probably lean 4 stars here, but I think it's a better spot for BBQ than many others in my area and in the Roseville area that I've tried. It's certainly made my Roseville area visit list.

Then we got the meat plate, with tri tip and brisket, with a side of chimichuri fries and potato salad. The brisket was really good, tender and fell apart. The tri tip was also good, but it was sliced pretty thick and not quite as tender. Still very good though. The potato salad is a German potato salad, so it doesn't have mayo in it. Ive never had this kind of potato salad before, but it was really good. the chimichuri fries were also good. This was more than enough food for the 2 of us to share.
