Not sure why there aren't more 5 star reviews. We've always had a good experience here. We used to go to another Mongolian bbq place in town but they raise their prices and only allow one bowl now. Our favorite Mongolian place wasn't open on sundays so we decided to give this place a try again since it's been a long time. Arrived 45 min prior to closing and they sat us down and everything was fine, got our soup(which was cold) and drinks and then guy never came back to even refill waters. I got up to get a second serving and they already took all the tongs and were putting away everything 15 min before closing and we were still there! Didn't even mention "last call for food" nothing! They were too busy cooking their own food and putting every chair up around us to notice we weren't happy.they still charged us full price for it and happily asked for a tip. Hi-ya! The customer service here is pretty good. When we first entered the staff were friendly and welcoming--this also applies to the cooking staff. The place has a lot of al la carte options besides your usual Mongolian buffet--for example steamed buns, shrimp options, etc. The meats available foe the standard Mongolian bbq pricing are beef, chicken, turkey, and pork. The veggie selection and sauces are ok. I was surprised not to see sugar water as an option. I say sugar water, because this obviously sweetens the meat when cooking, but also has the extra water to help in the cooking process. I'm no chef, but I believe it helps. Anyway, the flavor was reasonable and everyone else seemed to get their fill. I think this place is ok. The place is clean, service good, and the bathrooms were very clean. Great place for some Mongolian bbq. Not sure why this place has such a low rating. Every time I've been here, it's been very clean. I always go for lunch, so maybe that's why? Either way, the ingredients are very fresh. For lunch, you get a single bowl along with soup, rice and potsticker. Price is $14.25. If getting a fountain drink, that's an additional $3.15. Not bad, but not a bargain. The secret to a good Mongolian bbq is using a TON of sauces and oils. While they have a great selection of sauces/oils, their ingredient selection is a little on the smaller side for many of the Mongolian bbq places I've been. They do have all the basics and some extras that you don't always get like bok choy and fresh cilantro. And like I said, always fresh. The egg noodles are their own house-made noodles. The service has always been great. Very polite employees that are attentive to your needs. Great place to have a quick lunch! read more

It's been a long time since my last visit, and being in the area, I decided to stop by for a quick bite. First off, parking is a breeze; there's ample space for bikes, cars, trucks, or even a boat if you're towing one. Upon entering, I immediately noticed the changed layout, but it was still straightforward to find my way around. I filled my bowl, chose my sauces, and passed it to the cook. As I waited, the server/cashier prepared a bowl of rice, soup, a potsticker, and a Sprite for me. By the time I collected my food and returned to my table, everything was ready. The price was quite reasonable: my lunch was $14.25, and with a soda, the total came to $21.94, including tax and a $3.66 tip, which is 20%. Not bad at all. The meal was just as wonderful as I recalled, with portions so ample that I happily took the remainder home for another time. The restaurant wasn't crowded, yet it's spacious enough to accommodate a large number of guests. The staff were remarkably cordial, greeting everyone with smiles and a friendly attitude, which was particularly welcome in the sweltering heat over 100 degrees, where patience can quickly wear thin. My family have been coming here since they opened. Yesterday we came in and the tables were all dirty and had not been cleared. We went to use the restroom and one restroom was closed and the hallway floor was extremely sticky. The only working bathroom was dirty and didn't have any paper towels. When we finally were able to sit down it took us around 5 minutes before we were greeted and given soup and water. The free appetizers came out soon after and were stale dried out. The food bar where you make your bowl was extremely messy and was out of several food items. I don't know what has happened to this place but it is not like it used to be. We started going there because the place was clean and had fresh local veggies available. I don't know if we will be returning. read more

I love GK Mongolian BBQ. They have my favorite sauce, which is teriyaki. I like getting pork, beef, and lamb. They make their noodles in house. There are a ton of vegetables. I like spinach, onions, broccoli, zucchini, mushrooms, bean sprouts, and bamboo shoots. Sauces to get are teriyaki (4 or 5), garlic sauce (3), chili sauce, chili oil, cooking oil, sesame oil, and then powder garlic. You can get lunch with 1 bowl, plus you get rice, a potsticker, and egg drop soup until 3PM. read more

My husband and I went in about an hour before close. I have to say it was filthy in there. Seemed to be only 2 people working, but it wasn't like slammed or anything. Every table practically had dirty dishes on it. And the self serve bar was so dirty. Food all over the place. Didn't look like it was cleaned all day. The food itself was very mediocre. Didn't taste like it was cooked long enough so it was pretty bland. I could tell because my broccoli was still a little tough. And no the lack of taste is not from how I curated my bowl. I had plenty of sauces. Needless to say I won't be craving to go back unfortunately. They did start to clean the tables as we were sitting. But the bar remained filthy til closing. read more

We came here for a weekend lunch, and left with mixed feelings. My bf used to come here often with his friend a long time ago, and had good memories because the food was decent and the price was good. Hence that's why he took me here today! When we entered, the first impression of the space was spacious and clean. We were greeted by the staff, and were told to wear plastic gloves at the self-service station. The meat selection was limited to pork, beef and chicken. We later realized we could have requested lamb by reading a small sign. The veggie and sauce stands had better selection, and I was happy to see fresh tofu among the selections. We had our food cooked and went to our table with water and appetizers waiting for us. Everything was fine and I was thinking about "maybe" going back for a second round for some more tofu, but we were told it would be extra $2 for each bowl after the first. The upgrade price was reasonable, but we already paid, weren't that hungry, so we didn't bother to do go back. After lunch, we both felt a bit underwhelmed by the experience. It was $34 for our lunch for two (including tips), it's a bit much for only one serving with limited selections. However, we do appreciate the fresh ingredients. disappointing to say the least. I called ahead to reserve a table for a group of 10 and was told to just come in. It's a bday party we had so i needed to ensure we have this table on a sunday evening. I asked her if she needs any name or number and she said no. I asked again because i know that if we won't have a table our guests will be confused, then she got my name and number down, and i asked many times to reassure me that i will have a table. we love mongolian food, it's our to go to for birthdays and parties! We usually go to silver garden in fair oaks but were in the area and decided to try GK mongolian. The price isn't cheap but it seems as if the bowls are so small, but when we looked other people were asking for bigger bowls. Maybe there is a price difference not sure, but bowls are small! The service was mediocre, nothing out of the ordinary and when we went to pay we had to wait at least 6 minutes for someone to walk up to the counter because everyone was in the back kitchen. There was hair in both of our miso soups which was so nasty! even though you don't pay for it because it comes with the bowl, i expected someone to at least apologize for serving that. The rice served was dry and a day old, and the chips instead of wontons is weird. Eggs rolls were good on the other hand. The mongolian itself was good but very small portions for some reason. Newer place that replaced a closed down Mongolian. Decided to give them a try for lunch. The staff was Super friendly, greeted us as we came in the door lead us to our seat. They have a decent choice of fresh vegetables (even a list of where each vegetable came from). You must wear gloves while choosing your items which I am totally fine with. Lunch is a one time trip but you can take your leftover home. The price was fair approx 16$ for lunch but heck for myself it is two meals. Tasted great. Will return. read more

I KNEW when they were bagged something was wrong, clerk was even mindful to point out which one was which (I have allergens & add hot oil.) Sure enough, got home, totally wrong. Packaged poorly as well. One box was entirely full of all I'm allergic to. Packed up, returned to location. Cooks and clerk already smirking as I walked in. I didn't walk in mad, didn't leave mad. Used a couple of choice words. "Manager" smiled and side chuckled as he apologized. I was refused a refund, some LAME excuse about how I paid for 2 meals, but only returned/wanted refund for one. RODENTS IN THE KITCHEN!!! We went Friday 10/4 Approx 3:50-4:00pm. While waiting in line to get our food cooked we heard a squeal from the female employee to then see a rodent in the kitchen behind the grill area with its tail stuck on a glue trap! You could tell they were trying to be nonchalant, looking around to see if anyone else noticed. The rodent was trying to scurry away with the trap stuck to it and then the male cook STOMPED its head into the ground, wiped it up with paper towels and then went back to scraping the grill! The Service is Above and Beyond!!!! I had the Dinner dine in All-you-can-eat and made myself a big bowl and handed it to the cook and they had set a table with our drinks and soup and potstickers. Then they brought out our cooked bbq bowls. I let mine cool a minute and then took a bite and it was extremely spicy and I am a wimp and didn't put anything in my bowl but thought maybe I used a spicy sauce on accident so I made a new one and then asked for help picking a sauce and was told that I didn't make a mistake that it could have been that it was just cooked next to or after something spicy on the grill. So they cleaned and scraped the whole entire grill! I was so surprised how sweet that was! It made a huge difference!!! It was then so delicious and not spicy at all! I'm so grateful! Customer service in restaurant is horrible. The Asian girl that works during the day is so rude. It's just unnerving, since I come by in my lunch break to literally catch a break from work, but still feel like I have to work to keep my cool because this girl is lazy. The jalapeños were brown from sitting out in the food bar. The potsticker I received was cold (like from the fridge) and hard as a rock, like it had literally been left out overnight and stale. What a waste of money today. Also, you guys should update your website because it's doesn't make sense. Take out days you still get the appetizers listed, but the girl there says you only get a potsticker?! Like what?? I have to chose between the free drink offered and rice but it's not listed on the website. She's just petty. The door clearly says free drink with all lunches. I'm just shocked. read more

Tried this place for the first time. Was skeptical because reviews are not great. However we had a very good experience. Hostess was very nice and good was delicious.
