We stopped in for lunch and were seated right away since the restaurant was pretty empty. Our waitress was super friendly and took our orders quickly. We had a few minutes to relax and chat before the chef came out. He did a short hibachi show not overly enthusiastic, but maybe that's just the lunch vibe. Still, the food was delicious and freshly cooked, and the kids had a great time watching. Definitely a fun spot to bring kids! We'll likely come back in the evening next time to catch a more energetic show.

There are other places that offer better [Lincoln CA] Our second attempt to try dining at this place was successful than our first. We were able to be seated immediately (party of 4) and that's because we opted for the regular dining and not the teppanyaki table. All the guests waiting in front were there for the teppanyaki experience and there's only 10 of those tables. The food was good... nothing fancy on our orders: bento box, gyoza, Tofu Teriyaki, and Seafood Ninja roll. Food here is pricey. I think the 2-item bento box was more expensive (imo) than other Japanese restaurants we've dined in. Customer service was great and stands out from our dining experience, friendly and helpful. Debating if maybe one day we will try the teppanyaki table (or not). Making reservations before you go would be advisable but even then I'm not sure if you're guaranteed a table immediately upon your arrival. Review #3759

I've been coming to Kobe for the past three years. When I really love a restaurant, I like to take my time before writing a review - and Kobe truly deserves it. This place has been one of my favorite spots to stop by in Lincoln. It's a hidden gem offering both sushi and teppanyaki. I usually sit on the sushi side, where you can still order from the teppanyaki menu. My go-to order is the bento box with steak and shrimp teriyaki, along with yellowtail, black pepper tuna, or spicy edamame. If you're open to trying sake, the peach sake is absolutely smooth and delicious. From the fast service to the flavorful and perfectly prepared food, Kobe is a solid 5/5. I've never found another bento box with this quality and quantity of food for just around $30 - such a steal. The steak is always top tier, and the shrimp are big prawns that truly fill you up. If you're looking for a reliable, delicious, and satisfying meal in Lincoln, Kobe will never disappoint.

I recommend the shrimp and salmon yum yum sauce was so good

It was a romantic evening with a special someone. The food was amazing and the atmosphere was fun. Love the loud crew getting excited about their cooking skills. Slicing and dicing. Waitress and very professional and proficient. Her name was Ada and all the bus boys were helpful. The price was reasonable and serving size was huge. Thank you again. I will be back.

Came in for dinner and was pleasantly surprised that we came right in and were seated right away. I like that we didn't have to wait for our table to fill up and still got a little show. The portions were all very generous for all the food. I was surprised that they didn't add any onions or veggies or sesame seeds to the fried rice. The food overall had good flavor. Every other teppan place we have been to used to give like 2 or 3 shrimp halves as an appetizer but this one didn't. The waiter was more entertained with the other table that was getting a flame show and started playing music on a little speaker. Other than that I still would not mind going back to eat again.

Steak and grilled with fried rice and grilled vegetables very tasty and filling. Was not disappointed

Spent my birthday dinner with family and the food was amazing and the show put on by the chef was amazing and fun for all involved. My steak and shrimp plate was fantastic with fresh cooked fried rice and mixed vegetables. My appitizer was mixed vegetables tempura very tasty . All in all this place is worth the trip. I recommend it

The food was excellent -- super flavorful, perfectly cooked, and served piping hot right off the grill. The chicken was juicy, the steak was tender, and the vegetables had the perfect crunch. Their yum-yum sauce was on another level too.

We recently visited here we opted for the hibachi style meal where they cook in front of you. I think our cook was new it seemed to take a little longer. By the time we got our meat our fried rice was cold. I love how interactive this place is. The food was good I just wish it was timed a little better. When you first sit down soup and salad are brought out. You are seated with a group of about 6-8 people, since it was just two of us we sat with another family. We will have to visit again and try the sushi.

Whenever I'm near either location I make a point to stop by to enjoy a meal or pick up take out to enjoy at home. While a fresh bowl of ramen in the restaurant is always the best experience, their take-out options are packed well and reheat nicely. I'll often warm up ramen the day after I pick it up and it's such a nice treat to have at home. The Lincoln location has plenty of parking and once you're inside you head up to the kiosks to order for dine in or carry out. Definitely take a look through the menu, they have a variety of ramen options, including soupless ramen, rice bowls, and appetizers. They also have a variety of drinks, and I noticed on my recent visit that this Lincoln location has alcoholic options. My favorite order is their spicy tonkatsu ramen- the broth is so rich, there's a perfect amount of spice, and it hits every mark for me. Honestly, I didn't truly appreciate good ramen until I tried Umami Ramen and now this is the standard that I judge all other ramens by. We also typically order their karaage chicken and I pick up and onigiri or two (the tuna is my favorite). Everything on the menu is great though and I'd recommend trying anything that sounds yummy at the moment. There is plenty of seating and I love that the restaurant is decorated with plenty of fun posters, art, and even figurines to look at. They also have a shopping area for Japanese snacks, toys, drinks, desserts and a claw machine. A pro tip is to check out their specials- when I visited they had a $25 special for a small appetizer, ramen, and drink. It was a great deal! They also have the option to adjust your ramen by leaving off certain items or ordering extras- I usually get extra bamboo shoots for $2 (it's a generous portion of them) and their eggs are AMAZING- if you're a fan it's definitely worth ordering an extra. The staff here is also so kind, if you're having trouble deciding they're happy to help and can ring you up if your prefer ordering with them. They also always make sure I have water when I dine in and pack my to-go orders with such care. I highly recommend both of Umami Ramen's locations and hope they open a third closer to me so I can go all the time. For now, I'm happy to travel though!

The broth here is rich, bold, and packed with flavor...some might find it intense, but for me it's a total chef's kiss. You can choose thick or thin noodles, and I always go for the thick ones because I love that extra bounce. I ordered the Black Garlic Ramen because garlic is one of my love languages. My husband went for the Spicy Tonkotsu and was sweating bullets by the end of the meal, but he still cleaned his bowl! The chashu pork was a little dry on this visit, but the broth, noodles, and all the toppings still made for a delicious and satisfying meal. Bonus: They're currently offering FREE gyoza with every ramen order! If you're looking for a hearty, flavorful bowl of ramen, check them out. Just don't question my decision to eat hot soup during a heat wave.

It's a very modern, small restaurant, and the bar seating is definitely the focal point of the space, though the overall vibe felt a little cold with minimal decoration. I'd love to come back to try their full omakase experience eventually, but the service was a real letdown. Even though we were the only two people in the restaurant most of the time, we felt like an inconvenience. At one point, I said out loud that we were ready to order; the staff including our waitress stopped for a second, looked at us, and then just went back to what they were doing without acknowledging us. It was as if we were on her time, and she was making it clear that she would get to us when she felt like it, not when we were ready. The wait for food was also way too long. Despite being the only ones there, I waited about 40 minutes for my ceviche mixto bowl ($22). For a raw dish that requires no actual cooking, that kind of delay in such a small space is hard to justify. We also had the broiled oysters ($15) and oyster shooters ($5), which were solid. I noticed the drink menu didn't have many sweet cocktail options, so I asked if they could make me a lemon drop instead; and they granted the request. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ The food and drinks are great, but the service and kitchen speed really need to be more attentive to match the quality of the menu.

Our server greeted us right away and was very sweet and attentive. You could tell she was still in training, but everything went smoothly. We had originally reserved a tatami table, but quickly realized it wasn't the best fit for our group since we had some older people with knee pain. Just a heads up, the tatami seating does not have recessed flooring. Luckily, we were able to adjust to a regular table. Once we were settled, we looked through the menu and ordered a double toro roll, a wagyu roll, and a dinner bento with unagi-don. Happy to report everything we ordered was delicious! The double toro was very fresh and refreshing, and the wagyu roll had a rich, savory flavor that reminded us of a yummy steak. We enjoyed every bite. I was especially impressed with my bento box. The presentation was beautiful and the portions were very generous. The bento came with steamed egg, a fresh garden salad, assorted tempura, and unagi-don. Everything in the box tasted great. The tempura was light and crispy, and the unagi was savory and satisfying with egg ribbons in the rice. I think it might be one of the best bento boxes I've had in a long time. First, I want to say the chef was younger, but he put alot of care and effort into each dish, so he should definitely be acknowledged. However, as soon as we walked in, there was no greeting from both of the female servers, only cold stares. Many servers do not give great service to younger tables and assume they won't tip. This occurred throughout our dining experience and we didn't feel welcomed at all. Our table also wasn't the biggest and there was no pre-bussing done to clear our dining space. Also, as a recent graduate, I brought my cap to receive a $15 gift card for their promotion. Instead, she gave a "neighborhood" discount (10% off which made it $10 off). I didn't mention anything since I did not feel like coming back to this location. Then I looked at the receipt, wrote a 20% tip, but this was where I felt scammed. It's difficult to explain and I wish I took a picture, but please check your math on the suggested tip. Total with discount: $98 Previous Total: $108 Suggested Tip: 20% = $20 and Suggested Total: $128 I don't mind tipping $20, but the suggested total would include a $30 tip? I don't know if it's intentional and the server wanted to pocket the discount as her tip, but it did not feel fair. We had two younger kids with us and I didn't want them to notice, so we just left after paying. We been to the Sacramento location many times, but their Roseville location was disappointing. Horrible service.
