Poor/highly variable quality and predatory pricing structure. not worth the risk given you pay in full (+ tip) up front and cannot refund. I booked GlamSquad for hair and makeup before my engagement photos. Unfortunately the makeup artist did a horrible job -- black dark eyeliner was smeared under my eyes and the face makeup looked entirely unprofessional. i would have been more angry had I not been laughing so hard. I asked her if she could take off the eyeliner as I requested more natural makeup for the photos, and she told me it had already set so she was unable to remove the makeup. I had to rush to take off 80% of what she did before leaving for the photoshoot. I asked GlamSquad for a refund on the makeup artist and they declined. I am sure not all of their makeup artists are bad, but unfortunately the pricing structure is such that you pay and tip up front, and you can't choose who you get. You can't share photos or guidance on the website -- only the app -- so I wasn't able to communicate with my hair and makeup artists beforehand. If don't like what you get, there is no recourse. I also learned that my makeup artist was self taught, so it is unclear whether they require any cosmetology credentials. I would 100% not recommend this service. read more

I think with blowout and curling my hair it took her only 30 mins. I wanted lots of volume and wavy curls for my baby shower and hair turned out nothing like I wanted. They were also very accommodating as we adjusted the schedule for my bridesmaids and family members who decided to get hair and makeup. As long as they have advanced notice, they're able to schedule and make adjustments as needed. We had only 1 minor mishap with 1 stylist who was a bit short with one of my bridesmaids. Her work was spectacular, so we brushed it off. However, the other stylists took note and apologized on behalf of the entire company. The only constructive feedback I'd have to offer about the wedding services is that the day of a wedding can be really hectic. Often times, everyone is not getting ready in the same place at the same time, especially in NYC where hotel rooms and facilities are very small. I use Glamsquad pretty regularly for pedicures and usually it is fine. But I want to put this experience out there even though it happened quite a while ago; it was so bizarre and I'm wondering if anybody out there would have an explanation for it. So she was new to me, pleasant enough, but she tried to start my pedicure without first soaking my feet. I stopped her... what the heck? She explained that I had booked a "regular" pedicure and that you only got your feet soaked if you had booked a "spa" pedicure. I told her this was wrong, unhygienic and no nail salon anywhere would paint your toenails without soaking your feet first. She actually argued with me (!) insisting that she had "...been working for Glamsquad for 7 years" and so she "knew what she was talking about" and I was her first customer (in 7 years) who thought otherwise. Well, I needed that pedicure. So I let this weirdo-liar give me a "spa" pedicure and charge me the extra $. Of course the minute she left I raced to the phone to complain, and Glamsquad refunded me. To be fair, my pedicures since have been fine; nice women who are always on time. My question is just, "Huh?" I still don't get it.
