We stopped at Glazed Donuts on a recent Key West visit. This shop is top notch, with a variety of unique donut flavor combinations and fillings. The donuts here are thick, lightly glazed, and not greasy. I got the key lime pie donut, which is stuffed with a delicious key lime flavored jelly filling and has meringue on the top. We also got a brown butter donut covered in cream frosting. The donuts were very large and you could easily split one with a friend. I was a bit sad we could only try two, but it leaves something for a return visit! read more

The best donuts ever! I got an apple cinnamon almond fritter. It's finger lickin' good! My husband enjoyed a cinnamon sugar donut. They also offer a variety of coffee, teas, juices and soft drinks. Be sure to check out seasonal specials like the strawberry shortcake donut. read more

They do a fantastic job roasting good coffee beans. Roasting coffee is a challenging skill requiring lots of practice and time to perfect. The medium roast here has nice body and character, hard to find qualities. After tasting other highly rated coffees on the island I returned here daily. while the first day had a slightly different flavor, I was happy every visit. It was fun to watch them cook and glaze the donuts. They are extremely fresh, likely within the hour. I am not a big lover of donuts but I did try several varieties, splitting them with my family. The apple almond fritter was the only one worth getting for me. It had ample fruit with a nice crunch from the almonds. The tall guy with the beard is not at all friendly. My wife didn't want me to tip when he served us on our first visit. The quality of the coffee brought me back. The other staff are actually nice. I might be a bit of a food snob, but this was the only place on the island that impressed me. read more

This place was EXCELLENT. whenever we are travelling, we seek out donut shops. This took the #1 spot on our list (2nd to donut king near groveland, fl). Husband had the blueberry pie cronut and I had the lemon poppy seed roll. On our second visit, husband went with the blueberry pie cronut (bc it was that good to have it twice) and I had the apple/almond fritter. Sad its closed today otherwise we would go again before heading home. Excellent, creative donuts! Definitely check them out of you are a true donut fan! read more

Hands down one of the best donuts I've ever had! The sweet flavor is amazing, and the donut's texture is so nice and airy that I wish I had gotten two, lol. I had the glazed and it was perfection! Not dry, not too sweet, just right! Hubby had the maple bacon and that was delicious too. Subtle maple flavor that didn't overpower the donut's taste either and was fantastic. So happy we stopped in while our cruise ship was at port this morning! read more

My friend and I shared and very much enjoyed the Maple Bourbon with Candied Bacon donut. Don't ask me about the calories in this one, I don't want to know. (I only feel half guilty, so I guess that's okay.) The store was clean and the staff friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend stopping in and giving a try to one of their fresh and unique donuts. read more

These donuts were wonderful! I was in the mood for a donut and it turns out there aren't very many options. When I arrived, there was a line outside! Turns out only 1 customer can fit into the lobby at a time, thus the line, but in the end so worth it! I had the apple fritter and morning bun. The fritter was the best I've ever had! Sometimes you wake up and just really need a donut. For me, it's best if these moments happen while on vacation to take away some of the calorie-laden guilt. Thankfully, such was the case when I went to Key West last weekend. The B&B buffet was just not going to cut it Sunday morning and off we went in search of Glazed. Of course, couldn't pass up the bacon maple and then the glazed to see how they handled a classic. Naturally, we had to try the Key Lime because we were in Key West after all. Then I saw the dossant, their version of the cronut, which I picked up for my friend back at the hotel who has been dreaming of trying this pastry hybrid since they were first spotted in NYC. She loved it. The staff was nice enough, space nice and airy, and most importantly, the donuts more than hit the spot. Wish this place could be a little closer to home... Good, solid basic doughnuts, and then interesting unique flavors. A great stop for a snack (and a mimosa?) while you're out strolling, or, be the hero of your meeting or vacation and bring back a dozen for your family or co-workers! Go early, because when they run out, they close. The basic doughnuts are seriously inexpensive (under $1) and then the unique flavors are more pricey (up to $3.50, but worth it for their originality). My one issue with their doughnuts is that the non-cake doughnuts have very little flavor in their batter, so if you get a bite with none of the filling, they are kinda "meh". I could go for a richer vanilla or yeasty flavor there, and given the hype about this place, that issue is surprising. Their very simple seating area is just that, simple. Basically deck chairs and small tables, and not really designed for lingering or a social coffee. I would actually appreciate a nicer seating area to be able to linger with my coffee or mimosa and not feel rushed or transient. read more

This is a great place if you like yeast donuts. I am giving three stars because they only have one cake donut....vanilla glazed. It was very good and you could see the vanilla beans in the donut. They have multiple tables to sit at. It can get busy and they do run out of donuts. They have very creative and elaborate yeast donuts. The cake donut was only $1. The only donuts I've tried in Key West but damn were they delicious. Friendly staff, locals coming in and out. Espresso roasted in house and in front of you, lots of unique donut flavors. My only gripe - so this would really be a 4.5 if I was able - is that the menu did not differentiate between which donuts are cake and which are yeast. Thankfully they are right in front of you in a case to see, but you can't tell from the menu. Also - there needs to be a colorful donut. Sprinkles or something. I know this doesn't matter, and there might be colorful ones when the menu rotates, but our selection was so... brown. I want some pop to my innovative donuts. Plus, makes for better pictures (sorry, I am a millennial, after all). I ate the sticky knot (mmm like cinnabon but with slightly crunchy outer layer), and the prickly pear jam (tart, soft and delicious). Will definitely be back next time I'm in Key West. read more

SO DELICIOUS. I don't even like donuts that much, but this morning I couldn't sleep and a craving hit, so I decided to take a bike ride and pick up some breakfast for my husband and I. I chose the Key Lime Pie and Maple Bacon donuts, and rushed home to devour them. Absolutely love these donuts and they are a must try! These are the best donuts I have ever had. The key lime is a must get even though they are a bit messy as the custard is runny. Also love the blood orange jelly and the seasons cronut style donuts. The only one I didn't love was the apple fritter as it was too oily. Other than that these are amazing!! read more

I'll indulge in a doughnut only a couple of times each year and, after a recent trip to Key West, I'm good for the next three years. The doughnuts here are absolutely just that good! Yes, you have to try the bacon maple but, seriously, all of them are amazing. They're light but with an incredible depth of flavor. They have several flavors to choose from, all creatively presented in something akin to apothecary jars. Coffee and tea as well. One trip here is simply not enough. Not sure how they do it, but the culinary team here really knows their stuff. Located just off Duval at Eaton so they're easy to find. Take my advice - find them and enjoy! read more

Whooweee, a local donut shop just steps from our timeshare! They have the perfect motto: everything in moderation, even moderation. Locally owned and operated, fast friendly service, it's a great spot for a quick bite with your coffee. We tried a number of donuts. In the age of mass-produced, industrial donuts (think Dunkin and Krispy), "real" donut shops ESPECIALLY in Florida are hard to come by. We found Glazed while on the über-touristy Conch Train Tour. Even driving by we could smell the yumminess. We didn't actually go until the next morning, on our way out of town. Oh. My. Goodness. Everything is made from scratch...everything. Best apple fritters we've ever had. An addition of almonds made it taste so good. We also had a plum bullseye, plumb crumble, and donut holes. We ended up getting more holes to-go. Must try the key lime pie donut. Amazing! The iced coffee and Americano was perfect. I would definitely suggest you stop by. The donuts tasted fresh and weren't greasy/oily and the key lime had just enough tartness in them to make you feel you weren't eating something really bad for you. Highly recommend! read more

Got there at around noon, there was a sign saying "sold out" on the door. We saw some people inside so we just went in and see what they got. Turns out, they did have some donuts still, only the seasonal ones were sold out. Anyway, we got a cinnamon ring donut, a mango glazed donut, a maple and bacon donut, and songs glazed donut holes. The cinnamon one is the best, with the perfect amount of sugar and cinnamon, not to sweet nor overpowering. The others were okay. We didn't care too much for the mango one, couldn't really taste the mango. Definitely recommend this place. Donuts are soft and they're still warm if you eat in. This is a great donut joint with a good selection of traditional and more exotic donuts. Donuts were fresh and not oily like at many other places I have tried them before. The atmosphere is open and not too cozy but that's probably a good thing because it prevents me from downing multiple donuts and raking up 10,000 calories before lunch. Service is friendly and the owner seems to enjoy talking to customers. Yummm!!! We tried an assortment of donuts and they were fresh and absolutely amazing down to the last bite. Could have used a little more bacon on the Maple Bacon, but that was my fav. Glazed Donuts are the best donuts on Key West. Now, that isn't saying much ;) Yet they do hold their own. Their donuts are tasty. . .especially their CroNut variation. It was crispy goodness. . .(though I passed on the line to get a real cronut when I had the chance). The glazed donuts were nothing special. I'm sorry, but Krispy Kreme is better at glazed. Yet the flavored donuts and variations were worth a stop. Be sure to order your dozen most expensive donuts first. I'm not 100% sure it matters (do they just pick the lowest 12?) but it seemed that they just discount a dozen and the first 12 get a dozen unless you get 2 dozen. Beside the Cronut nockoff, the other donut that I thought was awesome was the apple fritter. It was crispy apple goodness and addictive. When so much of Key West is over priced mediocrity, Glazed Donuts win on a decent donut place at a slightly over inflated price The only thing that was annoying was the attitude. Short - and dismissive to my dad (elderly fellow asking if the donuts were fresh). Cut the attitude Glazed, and you would win a star. read more

History

Established in 2012.

Glazed was opened in April of 2012 by Jonathan and Megan Pidgeon. After looking for locations for over a year a bare shop at 420 Eaton Street was finally vacant. Once three months of construction and recipe taste testing (by the local fire and police departments) were done Glazed was ready to open on April 8th. Starting November 2012 Glazed Donuts began producing ice cream, sorbet, Ice cream/ sorbet pops and other frozen treats. Glazed Donuts began roasting coffee on premise and Red Buoy Coffee was born. Our fresh roasted beans are served on site, available in bags or shipped nationwide. Fast forward to February 2023 and the Closser Clan adopted Megan and Jonathon’s baby. As life long restaurant operators Megan’s award winning recipes are in good hands with the Closser family.

Meet the Business Owner: Megan P.

Megan graduated from The Culinary Institute of America in 2007. She worked for James Beard award winning pastry chefs in New York City and the Napa Valley at Park Avenue Cafe and Redd, respectively. After a cheese making hiatus with Jasper Hill farms in Vermont Megan moved to Key West where she owns and operates Glazed along with her charming husband.

It gives you that relaxed, toes-in-the-sand feeling, almost like you're unwinding right by the water. It has a great vibe. We're not huge fans of soft serve, mainly because the flavors and textures can feel limited. Rooster Treats makes up for that with the generous amount of toppings you can add. I ordered the Chocolate Paradise, which came with chocolate drizzle, sprinkles, and Oreo crumbs. It was delicious, and the portion size was very good. Glad we checked it out before heading home.

We are on vacation here in Key West, and my boyfriend went to pick up donuts this morning for us as I had read amazing reviews of Glazed and was craving a Bavarian Cream donut so bad I could taste it! My boyfriend was met with rude, arrogant, completely unknowledgeable staff that not only asked him what Bavarian cream was, but when given the explanation that it was a vanilla pudding like cream, looked at my boyfriend like he had four heads and proceeded to say he had no clue what that was. Any donut shop I have ever been to has had some version of Bavarian cream, vanilla cream, Boston cream, SOMETHING. Apparently not this one. If you're in a Key West in search of a properly done espresso drink, look no further. I came to Yelp to find something good as soon as I arrived, and after scrolling through many pictures on each place, could see that this was the only shop that appeared to be doing things right. They know what they're doing! My cappuccino was made to perfection, and the donuts are too notice. Probably one of the best cinnamon sugar donuts I have had. Simple, but excellent quality. My only negative is that the bean/roast is not my favorite. Still the best drink I've had on the island, and a roast that would appeal to many, but not as smooth as what I prefer. The Chorolate frosted was nice. The glaze was not nice at all it had a string pumpkin like flavor, was dry and wasn't sweet at at all. The apple fritter taste burnt not sure why as the color seemed fine. Only giving them a 3 star for the Chorolate frosted the was a waste of money. By the way 12 dollars for 6 donuts is expensive.
