And she also never addressed the fact that she was rude and abrasive on the phone. See other reviewers who noted her rudeness for added evidence. So, I reinforce my original review and insist that rental owners avoid this company. We also received a letter saying they are selling their heating oil portion of their business to Sound Oil. They must have been overwhelmed and so maybe with this sale service will improve. During a recent record cold spell, really the first of the heating season when many local customers were first needing to keep warm this year, the furnace in our Burien rental home failed. Our tenants called us--we were vacationing in Hawaii--somewhat frantic. They were headed for the hospital in Seattle as they were expecting to have a baby boy induced that afternoon. I called Sarah at Glendale Heating and left an after-hours voicemail. She called back within the hour and had Greg, a tech, on his way that evening. Greg determined a furnace vacuuming was necessary before he could get the unit back on line, and he suggest a local furnace cleaner for us to use. The furnace cleaner was able to re-arrange his schedule and get there the next morning. Sarah, at Glendale, had Woody, another tech, at the house the next afternoon, after the cleaners completed their work, and the heat was on when baby Matteo, the new mother and father arrived home that evening. It was long-distance coordination by Sarah and her team at Glendale that pulled off repair in record time under the most urgent conditions, and we could not have been more pleased--or appreciative--of their professionalism and competence. I've been using this company for my heat pump but each year I had to call back due to something wrong. Each time either changed and replaced with something or something major happened. Last year they wanted to change the entire motor and fan of the heat pump and that cost a lot but this year same thing happened and wanted me to buy a new heat pump. I would not recommend using his company, I am very disappointed and should have changed to a different company a few years ago. read more

I have used Glendale for years. We have an oil fueled Furnas and the maintain it in the summer every year. The technicians are knowledgeable, polite and are willing to accommodate your requests. They also service our air conditioning plant each year and this preventive maintenance saves a lot of issues when it is very hot or very cold. Their oil delivery service is seamless they always know when to fill our tank. Last year we had a leak in the oil tank and they suggested a very good contractor who worked with PLIA (The state run tank insurance) they visited several times during the process and the operation was executed without any problem. read more

We recently had the daunting task of finding a reputable company to replace the 19-year-old heat pump system that came with the purchase of our home. It was quite an educational process and we do not spend $10-15,000 lightly. After doing our own research, we started interviewing companies to hear their pitches. Prior to making our decisions, we spoke with Randy, one of the owners of the company. He was beyond patient with our (seemingly endless) number of questions. Sarah, in Customer Service, guided us throughout the process - ordering, financing options (if needed), installation, follow-up appointment, how to register the product and getting the permits signed off with the city inspector. Sarah was more than gracious, friendly and understanding when we had to unexpectedly reschedule the installation date on short notice when COVID-19 hit our home. Since we are very factitious homeowners, we were quite nervous about having workers in our home. We knew they had to access our crawlspace from the inside of the house. Ultimately, we had no cause for concern. The install team ~ Riley, Ray, Zeek and Brian ~ were top notch. They arrived at the stated time, introduced themselves prior to starting the job and were very respectful of our home, garage and property. They operated as a great team. Had a failing proprietary thermostat on a Lennox HVAC system in one of my rental properties. I called around and talked to a few different places. Glendale couldn't get me in until the end of the following week which was kind of a drag but they were the ones that knew what I was talking about with this specific thermostat. They called to confirm before the appt and I worked with the tech Yuri to install a more generic thermostat and bypass some of the Lennox bs. Actual charge was a bit less than I was expecting which was a nice surprise. Next time I have a problem I will call them first to see if we can work it out again. read more

My Aunt had a house built in the early 50s and used Glendale her entire life and so I tried them about 20 years ago. I am a contractor and use them for every job requiring heating projects. They are the only company you need to call. They are amazing and will be honest and fair and treat you right. The price has always been great because they find the problem and solve it in a timely manner. If you are debating on a heating company you can feel comfortable in calling them and scheduling an appointment. Mark from Glendale is clearly well-trained and shows concern for his clients. After getting fibbed to and pressure-sold to by another company, I was glad to meet him! My house has a 21 year old furnace installed by Glendale. Like some other reviews, I found the phone attendant to be abrasive, she insinuated that I didn't know my own address since she couldn't find it in their records, even after I told her it was about 20 years old, and I had to laugh - I definitely know my home address!! But we got the work scheduled. I let Mark know what was up, and showed him the picture of the 'crack' the other person told me about. He confirmed that it was no such thing, but said he would take a thorough look anyway. He did, we agreed that maintenance would be fine for now, he cleaned everything up, put in a new filter, let me know the status of my fan was starting to tighten up and what that meant, and that was that! I will have Glendale out next spring for a new unit and duct cleaning, but I'm so glad I have the winter to save up and research my new furnace without feeling panicked. read more

I was having problems with my heat pump outside unit icing over back in February. I called Glendale as they had been servicing my unit annually and they came right away. The technician diagnosed the problem and ordered the part. I was told to run the unit, switch to emergency heat and do this until the part arrived. The part was installed a few days later, but there were more problems. I had been contemplating a new unit but was hoping that the replacement could be made in warmer weather. Bottom line - Glendale installed a new unit on a cold bitter day in February! Now that is what I call great service. read more

I am giving their service department a one since I cannot give a zero they deserve. I called to set up an appointment and the young woman in service was really rude. They said they would be out between 8AM and noon. After noon came and went I called them to see if I was still getting service. They said the technician was delayed on another job, no apology or time frame given. The technician lied and said he called me and it was a bad number. I had him call me while I was standing there with him, it worked fine. The person shows up and does the work needed to fix the heater. Then charges me for an hour even though here a half an hour. I guess I should have asked minimums but when called said there was none. He put COD and asked for my credit card, I said it should be put on my account I pay monthly for my oil. By the way no issues with the oil delivery side of the company unlike service. Luckily I do not need service much but wanted to make sure my 2 new kittens had some heat in the house. Overall I would never have service done by them and be overcharged again. If I can find someone else to deliver the oil around the same rate and better customer service, I will go with them next time. read more

I purchased my AC months ago and was told it would installed the beginning of July. When July came and I had not heard from anyone I reached out to them only to find out it would not be installed now until last September. Not one phone call or email from anyone in the company that was installation was delayed. I called to Sales Rep who acted like this was normal business practice. When I called the main office the receptionist was rude and transferred me in the middle of me talking. I believe they only took my money and said July to try and get me locked it along with others that would not be getting AC this summer. I cancelled my order due to HORRIBLE Communication and Customer service. I would NEVER have them do my installation with fear if something went wrong it would never get resolved. We contacted several AC companies about fixing our air conditioner last summer. We had a huge range in prices so we picked a few of the reasonable ones who did a free consultation and diagnosed why our air conditioner wasn't working. One company came with maybe a trainee and didn't even have the correct tools to open up the unit to check what might be wrong. This company, however, came to the free consultation and had the right tools for the diagnosis and were able to fix it on the spot. They were the last consultation and definitely had a good price and the fact that they came prepared and even had the ability to correct the issue at that moment was very impressive. It was that first heat wave last year, so they must have been extremely busy but scheduling was very easy. I had better luck scheduling by calling them than I did scheduling through Yelp, but they were still fairly responsive to the Yelp request. read more

The repair service man showed up early, which was great. Suyong fixed the problem in a matter of 15 minutes. He was kind enough to explain a lot of the things that were going on with the furnace that was causing the malfunction. And he was fast in repairing the problem. The cost was very reasonable. My new to me house has an old oil furnace, and I called Glendale to come out. The tec, Ron, came and out and did what he could and was very detailed in explaining how old the furnace was and how parts are hard to find if at all. With that understanding I agreed that he should only do what may not damage seals and gaskets. Knowing it was old and out dated I also scheduled a consultation to get a replacement furnace as well. The consultant came out and advised of my options. At this time the furnace was still working. About two weeks later the furnace started having delayed ignition issues and making some black smoke. I called Glendale back to see about having someone come out and see if it could be adjusted as they had already let me know the part was no longer made or available from their vendors. I scheduled a visit with the front office people who said the tec could come back out under the original cost of the service to see if it could be adjusted. We scheduled the date as my wife and I were regulated to using a small space heater as the furnace was out of commission. I arranged to work fr home that day as well. The service day comes and the tec calls to talk to me about the furnace. He then tells me there would be an additional service fee. I explain the office people who scheduled this said it would be covered under the original cost. The tec said "well they are office people and not tec people, there would be a charge". So I cancelled the appointment. While the service tec team have great experience and are knowledgeable, and the parts buyer was nice as well, and the front office and replacement consult people were great to speak with, there seems to be a lack if internal communications at the company that is off putting. Since we need a furnace we will look at getting it replaced and we are hesitant to go with Glendale for their apparent communications issues. Update- Sarah called me to clarify the situation. I have used Glendale Heating for some maintenance work and to install my new electric furnace and once several years ago to repair my old electric furnace which was a real lemon! They were able to come out right away for the repair work as it was in the middle of winter and very cold. They fit me in and fixed the furnace right away.
