While waiting I observed the pizza maker eating a slice of pizza and rolling out pizza dough and the top of it he robbed his nose with the back of his hand. Some of the food is a 4 out of 5 but most of the food is average at best. Maybe a 3 out 5. My biggest complaint and why only 1 star is a place charging a 3.9% fee to use a credit card. No business should ever add a charge like that to a final bill. It shows bad business. Credit card transactions are the cost of doing business to the business. You either don't take credit cards because you don't want to pay the fees or you add those fees in to the price of the food. You never add it later after the total. It pisses customers off. If my bill was $20 and then I give you a, credit card and you change that price to $21 I'm going to be pissed. It reflects you as a business trying to nickel and dime your customers. I'd rather the bill be $21 without knowing you charge or added a transaction fee after the fact. Not a good look especially when your prices are already high! read more

I used to love Glendale's back in the day. I'm not sure what happened, but it's nowhere near what it used to be. I ordered lunch for my office at 10:45am for lunch today and didn't receive the food until almost 12:30. No one was satisfied with their meals. The tuna salad platter was thrown out because it was so fishy, not to mention the platter had barely any tuna and the dressing they put inside took up half of the container. The pizza was burnt & the salmon wraps were so oily, they had to take them apart in order to eat it. I never usually leave poor reviews, as I know businesses are struggling right now.. but this was ridiculous. $75 later and we're all still hungry read more

First time here & I tried their salad! It was amazing! Grilled chicken is to perfection, not dried out & full of flavor. The mixed greens were fresh & crips! The bacon was true real bacon, not the cheap bacon crumbs that some restaurants use. I would definitely refer anyone to go & try them out!!! when i lived in the area 5 yrs ago i tried this place a few times, even ate in the dining area once(dont remember how the experience went so that means it wasnt very good or very bad) but with regards to their pizza it was VERY hit & miss how much they cooked the pie. Default should be golden brown crust then if someone wants it well done they'll ask but this place sometimes made it burnt which was too bad because when the 1 time they did cook it correctly it tasted very good. Last time I said "please not well done" so what happened? It was virtually raw had to put it in my own oven for at least 10 mins. I never wanna be the person to leave a negative review but I think the time has come.. I think the food is mediocre at best.. but the delivery service is HORRIBLE. they are ALWAYS late. I called at 1202 pm for a delivery, was told it would be 40-45 min. I waited patiently til 103 pm and finally decided to call to see where my food was at. The girl on the phone was so rude. She told me when I called to place the order they weren't technically even open yet (they open at 12, so yes; TECHNICALLY, you were open) and it takes at least an hr for the delivery, (THE FOOD WASNT EVEN ON THE WAY YET AN HOUR AFTER I CALLED) the delivery guy was "on his way back and we would be next". ... so I told her forget it and cancel the order & went to padonnos. There are not enough stars to rate this place! I've been a customer for over 5 years since moving to this side of town and not once has Glendale let me down. From the Caesar salads to the garlic knots, the shrimp scampi, the orecchiette, and the pizza and many other dishes I don't have enough space on here to name...it's food porn! One of the old-line pizza mainstays in town. While locals were raised on Cioffe's and Glendale, Paddano's has long ago passed them by. The Glendale crust is more of the chewy variety; it folds well (as any NJ pizza crust should) but just has a more doughy consistency than I prefer. To my taste buds the sauce tastes canned. Pasta Fagioli- The girlfriend literally orders this every single time we go there. Once again, it's fresh, delicious, AND filling. How many people can get filled off a soupy-pasta? Well if you said no, try this bad boy People- I think this is the gamechanger. Good, friendly people work here. They are patient, helpful, and more important- enjoyable. I keep to myself for the most part, but lately when I've picked up, the staff has noticed and began to greet me. It's a good feeling knowing that these people actually care about the people that walk in their doors and rely on their food. A+ Losses Delivery- Before I start, there really isnt' a L column for this place, so this is a mega-stretch. I vaguely remember the deliveries taking longer than normal (45min vs. 30min). 0 STARS I made the mistake of ordering something that wasn't pizza from their menu. I was having a craving for buffalo wings and tiramisu. Weird, I know. The buffalo wings were very salty and dry. Every bite just tasted like I was pouring a salt shaker in my mouth. The french fries were greasy and soggy. The tiramisu, which is supposedly homemade is actually a small tub of foamy, frothy (yes, frothy) custard with small bits of lady fingers. It is also much, much too sweet. It is the worst tiramisu I have ever had (and I have had a lot of tiramisu). As far as the service go, it was your typical slow delivery. They forgot the blue cheese for the sauce, and when I called to let them know, they offered to have the driver bring it by. He never showed up. The food was so bad I had to throw it all away. Once upon a time there was a hungry women who was craving pizza for a few days. So she picked up her phone and called to order a pizza....fairy tales do come true! IT TOOK LONG ENOUGH!!! Opened the box thinking "It's about to go down!" My excitement, my craving turned to complete DISGUST! WOW, to my dismay the ENTIRE pizza was COVERED in a thick orange oil slick. After several paper towels were used to sop up the oil (remember this is now 1 hour 15 mins in)..... The cheese was cold. Okay, I can handle this. Just pop it in the oven for few & heat. I proceeded to cut the pizza, someone graciously forgot. My daughter and I were just at your restaurant.  First, I would like to say that we love this restaurant and think the pizza is great. This evening, we didn't receive great service. We decided to dine-in. Prior to sitting, I saw the table needed cleaning. I surveyed other tables that were available for seating, however, those tables needed cleaning as well. The guy who brought our pizza to the table was asked by me if he could clean the table. I also added that the other tables needed cleaning as well or I would have chosen another table. He looked at me, and said "I don't have time, we don't have a waiter today." He walked away with our food, and placed our food back on the counter. After a few minutes of waiting, he never returned, and our food was on the counter. I walked up to the counter to retrieve our food. My daughter and I ate on a dirty table. We placed napkins as a barrier to separate the table from our food. This was very unprofessional of this man to have presented us with this type of service. One, no one should EVER receive this type of customer service. Two, my money was good enough for this restaurant to take, but I couldn't receive good customer service in return. Three, the entire world is in a PUBLIC HEALTH CRISIS, each and every table should be cleaned immediately after each customer to stop the spread of any infection. Glendale's is a terrific place to dine, with courses ranging from small to large in portions. They're famous for their pizza (which is excellent), but they also serve a great Pasta dish and have awesome salads and wraps to boot. My personal favorite is their Sicilian pizza, which has an amazing seasoning and sauce combination that tastes splendid. Prices are very reasonable, and service is prompt and polite from the staff. The big guy with the goatee looks like an Italian mafioso, but once you get to know him, he's sweeter than a piece of Hershey's. He gave me a free slice of pizza with no issues one time when they gave me the wrong toppings that I didn't order...no arguments. They also deliver, and while I typically sit-in to eat there, I have ordered from them via delivery in the past. Delivery can take a bit long (40 minutes or so), and that would be my only real knock for Glendale's...but it isn't a knock on the quality of their food, because that remains untouched and delicious. read more
