I stopped going. I got green on one of my nails the last time I went. Thankfully the green grew out and was able to cut that shit out. The process of tips was getting too harsh but when I decided I was done, I tried to remove the nails on my own using acetone. That's when I learned from internet - that there are levels to the powder they use. If removing with acetone, the tips are gooey, then salon was using a very cheap formula. The issue isn't just cheap - its a complete nightmare to remove. The gooey-ness destroyed all my instruments used for the removal process cause it stuck onto every surface. I've down graded to 3 stars because - for the area - LES, it is tough to find a cheap place that can do good tips. The alternative is to trek up to harlem/bronx or deep brooklyn for equivalent pricing. read more

I would advise to go somewhere else for nails or you will get barely covered sides, uneven second layer , top color all over your cuticle and poorly removed previous gel (they charge extra for gel removal) For last 6 months I was going to this place. Each time a fresh face would do my nails and each time it gets worst and worst and worst to the point when even being cheaper then competitors no longer overweight all the flaws. (They did rises the prices a little btw) Both man in salon are better skilled in adding polish then a nail shape. There is only ONE master , second table from left who seems been there since opening and do a decent job be it filing a shape, add nail polish but it's hard to get to her. Also, if you one of whose (I actually don't care) who dislike when people are talking in front of you in foreign language and you might think they discuss you- this place be you total nightmare as not only your master will chat to next standing table but chat and laughs will travel even across the room. I paid 42$ for new set including $5 gel polish removal and left $10 tip. Add 6$ UBER and $2.75 Subway ride back home makes me think I was silly to think my 65$ FIDI salon is pricey (they do deliver work like on my photo collage with "expectation" vs reality. So think twice, ladies. Time you waste going, poor job for the buck, this all combined will ruin your week (if you used regular polish and not gel. If you used gel god bless your soul and patience for 3 weeks) One last thing! OCD people, beware! Lol. Stay away. For you it be 9 circles of hell. read more

She's really good at filing/shaping and she gives me exactly what I ask for each visit. It's a busy salon. Try to go during a weekday if you can. Even with an appointment I usually have to wait for a little bit. Pedis are pretty standard- not especially amazing but definitely good. Service is friendly and pricing is fair. A few dollars more than other salons in the area but far from expensive. My one and only (tiny) complaint is that I would love to see a larger color selection for both gel and regular polishes. I started out with washing my hands in the sink area and then from there the rest of the process was pretty quick. My nail lady was pretty nice and we held a pretty good conversation for a bit. I didn't get a pedicure but their pedicure chairs were massage chairs which is pretty nice as well. I had a full acrylics set done by Ling (I think; they don't use name tags). It's my first visit, and I've heard good things about her, so I called in for an appointment. I arrived around 15 minutes early for my appointment, but they told me to choose my color right away. Then I was seated at a station and then Ling got started right away. I was kind of taken aback by how fast all that happened, I was kind of expecting to sit and wait a bit, but it didn't happen. Ling is VERY good with acrylic application, which impressed me. I also impressed with how she filed the unevenness down before she applied polish. I loved how natural it all looks! When I got home, though, I saw that I still had to file some more, so I took a star out. I probably will come back depending on how long this stays on. read more

I came in to get an acrylic touch-up. They were rude, ignored me when I told them they were filing too close to my cuticle, and ended up cutting me badly. I had to hold a napkin to my cuticle while my nails were drying (they actually cut me twice, but fortunately, the first cut stopped bleeding relatively quickly). No one asked how I was doing. They take their time and you can really tell with the finished result. I definitely followed the crowds here due to the price point. And for that, you are definitely not getting the most hygienic service. They have a lot of technicians so I went twice on the weekend and didn't have to wait for a service. The first time was great, it was my first time getting acrylics and I was very happy with the result. She was really nice and did a great job at shaping my nails the way I really wanted! The second time though was a very, very different story. I can to get my acrylic refill and gel polish on top. She really couldn't get the shapes right and I had a hard time communicating with her. Seems like there's only one lady in the whole place who can speak fluent english and she was occupied. I had my lady fixed the shape so many times I gave up coz it didn't get better and I didn't want my nails to get too short after too much filing. She also accidentally filed my skin with the machine thing while working on the acrylics too :( My gel came out very thick even though she only applied two layers. But I knew that was going to happen since when I saw the way she was applying. The more I look at my nails, the more I hate it! As you can see in the photos, there are gel top coat all over the side of my nails on my skin and well as under my nails. It was kinda heavy and painful on my nails too... urgh Let's hope I find another affordable place and won't have to be back here. read more

First time experience getting an acrylic overlay removed and a gel manicure! Entire staff and customers followed social distancing and wore masks. They sanitized between each customer at the station and overall had a great experience! I only come in to get dip powder and the nails barely last a week. Anywhere else I go the dip lasts until I have to force them off. When I go to glitz nail, the nails start popping off before I even get to 7 days with them. I've given them several chances and it's always been the same- dip nail polish not even lasting a week. Also, expect to wait a long time. They always tell me 10 minutes, but most I'll waited as long as 30 min to an hour before I'm seen. And appointments ahead of time don't matter. I've been coming here to get my acryllics filled and I'm always satisfied with how they look when I walk out of the salon. HOWEVER, I'm sad to say that 2 or 3 nails usually fall off only a week later. That should not be happening. I can't really complain because it's only $22 to get them filled, so I just suck it up and glue my nail back on LOL. You also can't make an appointment after 6 pm anymore, which is a bummer, but even when I did have an appointment, I was left waiting for more than 20 mins. So be prepared to wait AT LEAST 30 mins without an appointment. On the plus side, they just renovated so it looks much cleaner and nicer inside. read more

When I read it was $22 for a gel mani with a mini massage included I was like is this a trick??? Nope, just a treat. My nail tech was the only male in the place, I think his name was Chen. Attention to detail without making me bleed. Best manicure from a man I have ever received. Only downfall was I didn't see them open the tools from a sterile package so I was slightly nervous about letting him continue but they have good reviews and it's been a week with no issues so I assume they sterilize them somehow. They have an excellent color selection of gel polishes, and they do a great job shaping up my nails. I'm pretty picky about shape and they've done an excellent job every time. A fill here is $19 which is a STEAL in Manhattan. I was inspired to write this today because one of my nails (I've had mine on for months) popped off today when I wacked my hand into a door. I went in to get it fixed and they didn't charge me a penny! I will say this isn't a luxury experience but you get good looking nails for a bargain which is all I care about. This is the third time I've been to glitz & it's a love hate relationship. Cons: usually a long wait & at least one nail has broken or my gel polish chipped at the one week mark.
