    German Beer

Best Roast Beef Sandwich! I ordered one all the time and enjoy each time. The Roast Beef is made in house. Perfect amount of seasoning and far from salty! Came in today to pick up sausages (Brats and Bats), potato salad, red cabbage and sauerkraut for 4th BBQ. Their salads are excellent. They have four potato salads to choose from and all are great. Also picked up some German Mustard and a few beers. Excellent selection of Beers not to mention three on tap for dine in enjoyment. Staff is friendly and great, especially the owner.

If you want by far the best sandwiches and meats this is the place to be coming to all the time, and here's why.... No matter what you order this place is just phenomenal and everything is great about it. I used to come here over five years ago when I lived in Newport and now that I moved back I will definitely be coming here a lot more often. I walked in today and met the owner Sean. Extremely cool guy and clearly someone who really understands great food. We started talking and he told me the reason he even bought the place was because the first time he ever came here he ordered the roast beef and was so impressed he ended up buying the restaurant. After hearing that I had to try it! The roast beef sandwich comes with lettuce, onion, tomato, mustard and mayo with your choice of cheese and bread. The meat is piled high and is super tender and moist, and everything tastes fresh. Simple and done right and that's exactly why it works. Next was the Reuben. Corned beef with melted Swiss, sauerkraut and Russian dressing on toasted marble rye. This one is loaded and perfectly balanced. Warm, melty and full of flavor with the bread toasted just enough to hold it together. Honestly one of the best Reubens I've had. Then there's the hot German potato salad. Warm potatoes with a vinegar bite that gives it a really distinct flavor and it was amazing alongside the sandwiches. I love when owners are passionate about their places. Sean is a great guy and I can't wait to come back and try something different or just go for the Reuben again because it really was that good!

What a great place! Had the best Reuben in the OC with tasty beers and a laidback, welcoming vibe. I highly recommend!

The Big Schnitzel Sandwich with a few bites taken out already

Stumbled across great reviews on Google and Yelp and decided to try it out. One of the Best decisions we made about food this entire trip. The guys were very helpful on helping us decide what to try. We were torn between the Reuben (which looked delicious), the sausage sampler. Since my hubby and I were sharing they suggested the Big Schnitzel Sandwich. When it came out we were shocked how big it was. It looked amazing and after eating it - it was amazing! The schnitzel was cooked perfectly - moist on the inside- the bread was tasty and all the condiments they put on it were fantastic. If we are ever back in this area, will definitely be back. They are also very friendly and enjoyed the time chatting with them.

In a time where McDonald's meals are 17 bucks, mediocre restaurants for 25 bucks a plate and dishes that lack any substance or depth of flavor... there's globe deli. 9 bucks for a tall mug of imported German beer, hand crafted sandwiches that will keep you coming back for less than a meal at mcdeez. This place is a no brainer

Where has Globe Deli been hiding all these years?? How is it so hidden but in plain sight?! It's such a bros sandwich joint that sort of feels like a club you just want to be apart of. Every one who walked in seemed to be a regular at. Service isn't off the charts but it feels like that's just the vibe and I'm totally cool with it. The dry sense of humor sort of humors me and as long as the sandwiches are not dry I'll take the dry joke any day.

    Selections of high end meats!

Hello, is the store still open? We stopped by for the past three days and the doors are locked. 😔 Thank you.

Yes they are still open. I stopped there yesterday for a delicious sandwich. I only noticed that they close at 5pm. I think they're closed on the weekends

The lesson is clear: I can't order online anymore. We had pre-ordered the night before for a next day beach outing. $60 for two sandwiches, two bottled waters, extra everything (no condiments) and then the chips were not included. And then once we were at our destination there was olive oil on my sandwich (yes, I'm 100% sure). The time before it was roast beef and provolone with every condiment box unchecked with special clear instructions yet it came prepared with pepper (if you don't eat pepper, it's impossible to not notice). Countless times ordering extra meat and extra cheese which were paid for, tipped for at above average, to be the bare minimum. The employees are nice when you call but honestly, I have spent so much money that I'm exhausted and without trust.

The kitchen got backed up, and they even had to stop taking orders/refuse service because they were so overwhelmed. What really surprised me was that they didn't offer anything to the people who had been waiting over 1 1/2 hours--not even a pastry or small courtesy item. Since they were getting ready to close, I would think offering some of the pastries that might otherwise go to waste would have been a nice gesture and would've gone a long way with the customers who had been waiting so long.
