I was looking for a new nail salon when we moved to SCV and I'm so glad I found Gloss Nails Studio! I have been coming here for the past few months and have been very pleased with the service each time. I love that they use liners for pedicures and open a fresh set of tools before starting. Vicky is absolutely great and I love being able to have a conversation with her instead of just sitting there in awkward silence. Although they state that they take walk-ins, I highly recommend making an appointment. If you do walk-in, unlike other nail salons, they won't just say they'll see you and have you wait for hours. If they truly won't get to you in a timely manner, they will ask you to come back at a less busier time. I highly recommend this nail salon! read more

It's been over 2 weeks since I first came in and each nail is still completely stuck! Grown out of course... but I'm very very pleased. This place was what I thought was a blessing as they were open on Labor Day. I had an appointment for a pedicure and dip nails. The pedicure was pretty good, Troy did a good job. However, the girl who did my dip did the worst job I have ever experienced. And I wasn't going to write a review, maybe she was having a bad day. But I literally got my nails done on Monday and two of my nails fell off today. When she was taking off my old SNS it burned, every nail bed hurt. Then as she did the dip she did it a way I have never experienced before. She made them super thin, not even, like there are dips in the finished nail. And even when I was trying my hardest to be careful with my hands so they could last at least a week, I make my bed in a normal fashion and two of the nails fall off. Not only was this the most expensive nail salon but unfortunately also the worst. It's too bad because the owner or manager seemed great and the salon looks cute but the product was horrible. read more

Previous to coming into this Salon I read a lot of great reviews, and some not so great. Regardless, I like to try and give new places a chance. My appt was made for 1pm, I wasn't seen until after 1:30. No big deal, I realized there was another nail technician who was supposed to be there but hadn't shown til at least 3 (it was her first day it seemed as she walked in and asked where supplies were.) Neither here nor there, she wasn't my technician. There are no licenses posted for any of the techs, I'm sure they're licensed but I'm pretty sure you have to display that you're certified to do nails for sanitation and safety reasons. The techs were nice but there was a major lack of professionalism in their conversations, especially in front of clients. I had a lavender spa pedicure which was really nice. Although really difficult to get in and out of the chairs with the water bucket they place directly in front of you (I'm 9months pregnant). The chairs were very uncomfortable and barely can be considered a massage chair. My nail tech did a great job with the pedicure and massage. My complaint about the pedicure is that the nailpolish didn't dry even after more than two hours later after leaving the salon the paint got messed up and wrinkled. Disappointing for a $35 pedicure, just saying. Manicure was wonderful. Although it wasn't disclosed until the very end of the manicure when payment was being made that chrome topcoat was an additional $10! This should have been disclosed when the color was selected as it was an option displayed on their gel templates. I would overall rate my experience as a 3/5 due to the wrinkled nailpolish, time management issues and lack of certificates & price disclosures. & Yes I did look at the menu and nowhere on there does it disclosed $10 extra for chrome. I'm disappointed I really wanted to like this place but not so sure id be willing to come back until there are adjustments to some of these complaints. read more

Ok so I went here with out first checking with Yelp. And now less 5 days the 35 dollar SNS nails are lifting and the color she had me select was not at all nude. It is clearly orange. Tammy did it and it was a rush job. Once I saw how she carelessly didn't mind that all the gel nail polish was not complete removed I started backing out and saying....how much is it to just remove the gel polish....that lasted 3 weeks...shout out to American Nails I. Los Angeles Culver city . She was like no you will like it and it will last 3 weeks. But once again I started backing out when she tried to drill my real nails in which I'm trying to grow ...hence the gel and organic SNS powder Vs. Don't fall for the hype on Instagram about this place. On my last visit I over heard the owner talking to her client about another client of hers who is an influencer and has her own makeup line. She was talking about how busy they've been since she gave them a shout out online. I have no idea who she was talking about nor do I care. However I'd like to share what a huge disappointment this place has been. I came here for the first time on August 28th for a gel manicure. You can read other nail salons I've reviewed where I rave about my gel polish lasting over 4 weeks AT LEAST. I have no patience or time to be in a nail salon all the time so I appreciate a long lasting manicure! I recently moved out here so I decided to try to find a place closer to home and I was hoping this would be it. My polish didn't even last two weeks before chipping and lifting. This has never happened to me before, I'm not exaggerating. I will attach a picture of the time stamp so you can see the proof of the nail chipping. I sent the owner a text and she didn't apologize for the work done. I wasn't complaining or expecting anything but for her to not even acknowledge the issue is unprofessional. I decided to give them another chance because who knows why the gel didn't last and I truly loved how close to home they are. I had scheduled my apt for Friday but I had to book an appointment sooner since so many were lifting and I was afraid they'd break. I came in again yesterday and received no explanation or anything of the sort. The woman doing my nails asked how long my gel polish usually lasts and was shocked when I told her definitely over 2 weeks unlike this experience. That's when I realized I shouldn't have come back. Then she proceeded to ask if I had been here before so I explained to her yes I was here a couple weeks ago and had to return and waste some more time so soon because of the horrible job the last woman did on a simple gel manicure. It was so hot in that place I had to ask for a fan in order to cool down a little bit! I'm not sure if they run the AC because if it was on they should get it looked at! I was sweating and all the technicians looked sweaty as well. She cut me and acted as if nothing happened so I pulled my hand away from her and had to tell her that hurt! She finally finished my manicure I paid and couldn't get out of there fast enough. LADIES BEWARE, if you like gel manis that at least make it to three weeks don't waste your precious TIME or money here. I will be returning to my usual place, that's how bad this place was, I'm willing to sit in traffic for a real gel manicure. I'm afraid to see how long this manicure lasts. My daughter treated me to a pedicure and what a lovely place this was! At first, I thought this was a little out of the way as we live in Sylmar, but my daughter had been there before and they had excellent reviews. I can see why. The minutes you walk into the door, they acknowledge you. My daughter went first for her manicure and a little while later, I was taken to the pedicure spa chair. Julie was the person that took care of me. She listened to how I wanted a lighter leg massage, took extra care to not cut me as some other salons have done and did an excellent job on my toes. She talked with me while she did the pedicure, which was unusual as at most salons, the ladies chat among themselves instead of with the client. I found it refreshing! My daughter and I were both delighted with our treatments and will definitely be back again! read more

I always get the deluxe pedi cause I'm a mother of 3 and it's the only me time I get she not only cleans all your piggies flawlessly but she gives an absolutely amazing massage. She massages your legs, feet, and toes the way a true massage should be. Her painting skills a nothing less then perfect! I've been going to her for my pedis for a few years now. Give her a try.
