I came across this restaurant in search of kimchi fried rice. We on on a Friday night around 7ish we were seated immediately and was brought water. We put in our order for 2 appetizers and they came about 10-15 mins after our order. We then put in our order for our entrees which came about 20 mins after. Came here this past Sunday with a group of friends. It was crowded around 1pm, but we didn't have to wait too long. Parking lot was more full than I expected. The banchan small dishes were good but nothing too special. I liked the fish cake, broccoli and bean sprouts. However, they took forever to arrive. By the time they were on our table, our food came very soon after. At other Korean places, the banchan is served right as we are seated, which is what I prefer so that I have time to enjoy them by themselves. My friends and I shared the fried chicken wings. They were served with the banchan. Crunchy and fresh but on the dry side. My tofu soup was delicious and flavorful. The color looks scary, but it was a true mild and only had a slight spiciness. This place definitely hits the spot when you want some good Korean food. There aren't many Korean food options around Dublin/San Ramon area, so it's awesome that this opened up recently. First off, the smell of the restaurant is AMAZING. It made me so ready for my meal! I tried the hot stone bibimbop, which came with bulgogi beef. It was pretty good! The hot stone is REALLY hot, so it takes a few minutes for it to cool down. I burned my tongue plenty of times, but so worth it. The meet was flavorful, the veggies were crunchy and also had great flavor. We also tried the fried chicken. It came with 7 pieces and it was also pretty tasty. It had a good crunch and good flavor. Next time, I want to try the fried chicken with the sweet and spicy sauce or soy glaze! Be aware, chicken takes 15-20 min to cook. They give a lot of side dishes. My favorite sides were the kimchi and the spicy fish cakes. Those don't come out until your order comes out. The service is good! However, I think it's a little pricey. The hot stone bibimbap was $15.99, but it was really tasty. Update: Went here again the next day and ordered the sweet and spicy glazed chicken wings. SO YUMMY! I would come here for the wings alone! Definitely recommend getting those. The Japchae is also very tasty. The noodles are soft and the entire dish is flavorful. I was in the area with family members and decided to give this place a try for dinner. When we arrived there was no waiting, we were seated immediately. Nice interior & atmosphere. Servers were polite when they took our orders. We started with an order of Fried Chicken Wings. For our entrees we ordered the BBQ Beef Ribs, Bul Go Gi and Kimchi Stew. The wings came out fairly quick and were very tasty...but unfortunately for us it took awhile for the entrees to come out. However, it did start to get busy...but it was after our orders were already taken. When our food finally came out the ribs were decent, but I've had tastier. Same with the Bul Go Gi and they seemed a bit over cooked. The Kimchi Stew was good, but we all agreed the highlight dish was the Fried Chicken Wings. Horrible. I would give ZERO STAR if that was an option. This restaurant was always busy and the servers looked tense due to a lack of staff. I was always unhappy with one of servers (old lady). The last visit was the worst. The two female servers (young and old ladies) were rude. The young waitress made us upset saying ridiculous remarks. A group of 7 people ordered each food. One of us ordered pancake. Since the portions of banchan were way too small(the portions were the same with the customer who was eating alone sitting next us), one of us asked the waitress to bring more along with water comparing the next table. The young waitress showed us attitude and said, "I was not supposed to do it, but I will." That was the most ludicrous scene I've ever seen in a restaurant. We all stopped eating and looked at her. We asked what it meant. She responded that since one of us ordered an appetizer(pancake), not a meal(she stressed), she was not supposed to do it. The pancake price is similar or even higher than some meal menus. This is ridiculous. We all were upset and one of us was about to argue with the young waitress, but we stopped him. Everything on the menu is overpriced compared to other korean restaurants. I ordered the pork bone haejang soup, but it came with uncooked kimchi. I'm full korean and have eaten a LOT of korean soup growing up, but never have I ever had uncooked kimchi in a soup. When i asked to have it cooked longer, I voiced how the kimchi was uncooked. It came back slightly undercooked as well. I voiced my concerns, and the waitress with the short cut blonde hair said that they sell a lot of the soup and no one complains. New restaurant in the area! Ok, it's new to me. I've been gone for a while. Oghane and the Tofu House have some competition in the area now. The boyfriend and I got the Soondubu with beef and seafood. I think I saw some microscopic octopi tentacles in the soup along with a few small calamari, 1 shrimp, and 2 clams. That's to say that I don't think there was much seafood in the soup at all. There was a decent amount of beef. I would give the soondubu one more chance with the seafood alone. The flavor for the medium was good and it comes with a bowl of rice + an egg. ($13.99). The bulgogi was good. I don't remember how the prices compare across the other Korean restaurants, but this one seemed to be on the higher end. I had been craving Korean food for a while and this place definitely hit the spot. My friends and I came here for Lunch and we didn't have to wait that long to get seated. Staff super nice and attentive. We started are meal with Banchan and original fried chicken wings. Both were pretty good and kept us satisfied while we waited for our meals. They were good, but definitely had better/more at different places before. I had the Bibimbap and it was huge! I was stuffed by the end. It tasted pretty good, and was super hot for the entire time I was eating. Even half an hour in, the dish was insanely hot...and I love that! They also give you a bottle of hot sauce to put on your dish, but it wasn't really spicy. It tasted if Sriracha became insanely mild and then you mixed it with ketchup. That being said, it tasted fine, I would have just preferred something that had a little bit more of a kick. This place is definitely not cheap. (3.5 stars) Well. This is embarrassing. I'll just make a disclaimer to all before writing this review: I'm AWFUL at directions -- really, really, really awful. It doesn't matter how many times I've been to a location -- it doesn't matter how many landmarks I recognize (I can somehow convince myself I recognize them all) -- it doesn't matter that I've lived at X for Y many years -- the possibility of being lost is always lurking in the background. My life and breath often depend on GPS. -- yes, it's quite sad -- and no, there isn't anything I can do about it. ANYWAYS, my brother and I were craving some good Korean food and decided to go to our beloved TOFU HOUSE in Dublin. We hopped into the car and I took off, convinced I would magically end up at my destination through a good bit of intuition and luck (sometimes it actually works....). HOWEVER, LO and BEHOLD, I drive and drive, and somehow end up HERE INSTEAD OF TOFU HOUSE?!? Don't ask me where I went wrong -- I'm sure it's close by somewhere. We decided to forgo pinpointing where I went wrong -- dining at Go Goong would be fine -- at least it's still Korean food right?? MMM, as soon as we entered in the restaurant, we were hit with the delicious aroma of Korean food -- spicy, flavorful, wonderful Korean food. Two families entered in after us and BOTH families also remarked on how good the food smelled. The restaurant was PACKED to capacity -- a lot of people dining in, enjoying their evening. I even saw a company party (25-ish people?) eating together on one side of the restaurant. The restaurant is very clean, wooden tables, simple decorations -- a modern take on a traditional Korean dining restaurant? My brother and I waited 15-ish minutes for an available table (not bad for a Saturday night). He ordered the hot stone bibimbap (standard) and I ordered half seafood/half beef spicy kimchi soup. Both dishes came out rather promptly with an assortment of small dishes -- Go gives a great selection of different appetizers although each portion is incredibly, incredibly small (three small pieces of potato, three broccoli, etc.). The appetizer portion for families of four/five looked about the same -- I definitely don't think it would have been enough had our party consisted of more than my brother and I. The bibimbap came out on a flat bowl, which allowed the colors of the food to be displayed in all it's glory (seriously, the family next to us could not stop looking at our food). The bibimbap wasn't bad -- the flat stone bowl helped to crisp up the rice faster (although the egg also got cooked through in the process). My brother really enjoyed his meal -- there was not a GRAIN of rice on his plate when he finished. The kimchi soup was also rather standard -- very spicy (which was nice). Although both dishes were substantially large, Go Goong gave very small portions of meat/seafood in both -- which seems a little disappointing considering the prices Go Goong charges (little more than other Korean restaurants in the area). Service was great! We had a male waiter who was very consistent in checking in on us, not rushing us (despite the growing crowd waiting to come in....), and was generous with tea/water. Overall, Go Goong is certainly not a BAD restaurant -- the location is very pretty, and clean. I do think the prices are a little high for the quality/quantity of food. Came here for the first time, for lunch with my mom. It was busy. Must mean good Korean food! When you walk in you can smell deliciousness! Layout of the restaurant is a little weird, you walk in in and there's a small area with a couple chairs and a stack of high chairs that you have to reach over to put your name on the list We were seated shortly, about 10 minutes later. FINALLY!! A decent Korean restaurant in the tri-valley area. Slim Pickens around this neck of the woods. I usually have to drive to San Jose or Oakland to get my Korean fix. This restaurant is clean and modern. It's located in small plaza shared with Amakara and Paris Baguette. Staff is friendly and attentive. Newer, modern Korean restaurant with extensive menu. Google Maps doesn't list the location accurately. It shares the same parking lot as the boba place and Amakara, in the Southwest corner. Casual dress, very popular with families, complete with screaming kids, etc. Go early (before 6 PM) on Saturdays otherwise there's a long wait. We got there around 5:45 PM and the place was almost full. We were seated quickly and our drink orders taken. Of course, we had to try the fried chicken wings. Food came out quickly...probably not even 10 minutes. We were surprised. They get an extra star for that. The fried chicken wings ($7.99) were crispy, lightly seasoned, moist on the inside and piping hot. Batter was not heavy. Really good, but not distinctive. The banchan (mini side dishes) came out with the main courses, which is strange. Usually, they bring it out at the very beginning of the meal. There were 9 different things, mostly standard fare : kim chee, sesame oil pea shoots, pickled broccoli and carrots, fish cake strips, bean sprouts. Most were okay, the pea shoots and kim chee were good. Some were weird like the eggplant in sauce. The worst one were the beans - dry, mealy, and hard. Um, that's not right. They do give free refills, which is excellent. Let's start with the good. I ordered a dolsot bibimbap (hot stone rice with veggies, shredded beef) which cost $15.99. It came on a flat stone, not in a bowl, spicy Korean chili sauce in a squeeze bottle on the side. It was a bit difficult to stir, however, the rice was nicely crisped on the bottom, the flavors were good, the egg on top with a raw center was such a nice touch. You have to stir it to cook it along with the rest of the stuff. It had a stringy vegetable in it which I believe was gosari (fernbreak), which gave it a unique flavor and texture. A lot of people were ordering this dish...I saw them bring out a cart with at least half a dozen plates on it. Definitely recommended if you are trying out this restaurant. DH was not happy with their seafood tofu soup ($13.99), but he ate it anyway. He ordered it "mild", but was forewarned by the waitress that there is no mild. It was incredibly spicy. If the health department is reading, they should ignore the next line. They dropped a raw egg into the soup at the table. He complained that the shrimp wasn't a prawn with the head still on. It had a slight fishy taste. The seafood pieces were extremely tiny. Overall, the prices seemed just a little bit higher than local Korean restaurants. Some hits, some misses on the food. Solid 3 stars. I really like that none of the dishes were overly salty, from the kalbi (short ribs), the seafood pancake which was very crispy, to the tofu soup which was a surprise. Beef tofu soup had a very clean taste although spice level is one down from other typical Korean restaurants. E.g. Spicy is really medium. Veggie ramen was the only negative. Do not get the ramen!! The ramen they sourced tastes like Shin Ramen at the grocery store. Ok for home but underwhelming to serve at a restaurant at that price. Gave us time to look over the menu. All the wait staffs were courteous and attentive. Ordered the seafood pancake, it was good but the middle was a bit under done. Had the sweet and spicy chicken wings, piping hot but too spicy for my taste. The beef tofu stew was delicious and the kalbi was tasty, albeit the price. The hot stone rice was yummy but hubby thought it was too spicy. We were check in on by 3 of the wait staff, great customer service. Haven't had Korean Food on this side of the bay since we moved to Dublin from SF last Year September. Had a chance to try it out for lunch today and it didn't disappoint. I wanted to eat the mackerel and it was perfectly cooked, moist and not overlay salty. Their banchan was all good! Will be sure to bring the fambam here next time and try their bibimbap and japche. This is easily my favorite Korean restaurant in the area. Food quality is very good, service is fast, friendly and attentive, and most of all, the atmosphere is lively and fun. The other Korean restaurants by comparison are depressing with over worked and unhappy owners/employees. Price is a bit high but aligns well with Korean food in general (which is always expensive). Tofu soup failed. $18 for tofu soup that is overly salty and only contains soup, tofu and onion. Pork tofu soup has lots of fat and had pieces of hard and fatty pork which looked and tasted like cured meat. Seafood tofu soup was again onion, tofu and octopus only. Side dish also disappointing in quality and quantity (no fish cake), we tried this place once awhile back but today tofu cabin was closed and thought we gave it a second chance but they did not improve. read more

New, clean, bright place with good service. Waitress checked on us multiple times on a busy Friday night. Went here because the other Korean restaurant on Amador closed at 8pm and this place stays open later. We are on a Fried Chicken appetizer binge and ordered this to start. The wings and drumsticks came out of the fryer hot, hot , hot. Just like it should be! The batter is light and might be a rice powder / tapioca batter? Tasty and hot, what more can you ask for. The Seafood Pancake looked huge on the next table and we'll try next time. We stayed with one appetizer. I had Soft Tofu Mushroom soup and the sig other had the Cold Noodles. The waitress cracked the egg into the soup and cut the noodles for us after asking us. We could do it ourselves but why not let them help! Thanks for the service. Both orders were tasty and enough for one person. As for Banchan, they brought out around 11 dishes that were standard although a little skimpy on the portions. We didn't order any BBQ meat dishes which looked average size for the Bay Area but still nothing close to SoCal portions. Glad to have another Korean restaurant in the area (4-5 within a few miles of each other) as competition is always good for us Customers. For the new restaurant Management, the floors are dark parquet and dropped food - especially rice, paper, etc will be very visible. This review is for the service, not the food. Service is super bad. So many empty table, they want me (party of 2) to write name??? What for?? Is not like many people waiting in line behind me... zero. It's already passed normal lunch time. And even WORSEEEE, someone comes behind me, just a party of one. The waitress just gives her a table (4 people size table) right away. ?????? Waitress never smiles, all rigid, and giving you the look of "youre bothering me!!!" look...if it wasnt for the food. We don't go to many grand openings because of the usual issues: small menu, lack of service/inexperienced staff, and the food quality isn't always the greatest. We decided to try this place out because I had a hankering for some Korean food. It's located in the back of a strip mall, next to the UPS store and by Cafe Tapioca. The place is very clean looking (both in decor and cleanliness). The place was busy but we were seated right away. The menu was rather large and there were a lot of lunch options, but we were there during dinner time. Our orders included: Spicy rice cakes with cheese - oh goodness I loved this dish so much! It had a nice tomatoey taste that's different from other places, had veggies (green bell peppers, etc.), fish cakes were really good (I'm never a fan of them but I made an exception for this dish), and it had just the right amount of spice. Tofu Soup (medium) with beef - very good flavors. About the same type of soup you'd get some other Korean places. Galbi ribs - most expensive item but was pretty good. Serving size was alright but the meat was tender and yummy. We got pumpkin porridge and salad to start with. I absolutely loved the porridge! It was sweet but not overly sweet and delicious! There were a ton banchan. We each got a little fried mackerel to go with our meal. First time I've had that with banchan and it was pretty good! Overall, I'd rate this a 4/5. I want to try more before I really give it a 5/5. I felt the service was good, the food came quickly, and the meal itself was delicious. I like this place although they don't have BBQ. as a person I'm not huge on meat anyways, so I come here when I'm craving something spicy or ramen of some sort. Their beef dishes are pretty expensive, when I paid $24 for Korean style meat patties, they served us just two patties the size of an in n out burger patty. It was good, but when you think about it, Korean bbq all you can eats costs $24 for much. much. more. Other than that, I like the variety of their menus. Their service is pretty good, because they normally come three times to the table to check if we need any refills on sides. Some Korean places aren't so generous about giving their sides. What makes it five stars is the friendly service and especially the environment. They have music playing, and NO tvs. I hate going to places with screens, and my company has their eyes glued to the tv the whole time. What ever happened to talking to friends and family! It's never too loud in there, and the decor is very well done. Definitely my go to Korean place. read more
