I've been here a couple times to get documents notarized. Even though the website says you can make an appointment for notary services, I never have and I've also never had to wait. It's always a quick and painless process that costs $10. Plus, they will make a copy of your notarized documents for free so you can mail your documents on the spot. It seems like the people that work here genuinely care about their customers. The last time I was there a man came in and searched around the mailboxes for a package he was expecting. He left before they could bring it to him from the back room, so they chased him down the street to get it to him. Horrible experience. I was dropping off a box for USPS. I had reused a fedex box and the employee got angry that the shipment was in another carrier's box. I told him I wanted to recycle the box and that I would cross out the FedEx logos and write USPS clearly on the box so that it would be less confusing for them to do their job. As I began looking for a marker in my purse to do this, the employee continued to raise his voice and angrily tell me how the package will take longer because it will get placed in the wrong pile. I told him I would be sure to not use another carrier's box next time and tried to hand him the box...instead he ignored me and started speaking to other customers. I waited a few minutes patiently and then decided to leave the box on the counter since he obviously knew I was waiting and already had a shipping label attached. It has been 5 days and the label has not even been scanned. Horrible experience. The only reason I'm not giving 1 star is because the other employees I've interacted with have been pleasant and I've not had any issues previously. read more

Went in on the 21st to ship a package. Offered 3-4 days delivery with a slight price increase which is fine. Took them 4 days to actually ship my package. Checked the tracking and package will take more than a week for delivery after the 4 days to ship. Called them and no real support offered me a # to contact usps to try and rush it and stated sometimes mail gets stuck with each other even though it was a shoe box size. Nxt time own the problem and accept fault for delayed shipment. read more

What a gem of a business in downtown San Diego! My husband and I live downtown and this was my first Go Postal customer experience which absolutely exceeded my expectations. I was also very grateful, just two weeks before Christmas, not to have to stand in long lines at the downtown Post Office. The husband and wife owner team, Liz and Cesar, are professional, personable, efficient, and they both went above and beyond for me when I decided to change carriers for my Christmas parcel from USPS to DHL Express. They kindly repacked the contents for me in a new cardboard box, had all the paperwork completed for me when I returned to the store, and provided me with a discount on shipping. While Little Italy is a vibrant, walkable neighborhood, it unfortunately lacks many services/businesses that aid in the day-to-day "administration of life" for residents. Go Postal! is one of the exceptions -- and a highly valuable community resource. Shipping & shipping supplies, mailbox rentals, notary services, passport photos, greeting cards, a few office supplies, etc. Sure, far from glamorous stuff, but Go Postal! makes it easy to get things done (without needing to climb into a car to take care of them). I would also be remiss not to mention that the staff & owners are friendly, professional, helpful, and efficient. The service here was very helpful. They got me in and out really quick and handled all my needs. Got passport photos, the mail in passport application, a pre-addressed and paid envelope to ship it all in, a book of stamps, AND returned a fed-ex package that was sent to me in error, all in under ten minutes. Glad to see a local business on top of their game. If I had one slightly "negative" thing to say it's just that none of them seemed to smile much. But that's obviously extremely nit-picky. The only reason I continue to visit this place is because of convenience but the service is just okay...on a good day. The employees are pretty rude to one another and I've experienced on more than one occasion the male and female employees argue with each other and be rather short with customers. There is an older woman who is friendly and helpful and that I do appreciate but I could do without the other two...I never know if I'm going to catch them on a good day. The place is pretty small and crowded with lots of stuff; it can get pretty busy leading to the employees getting a bit flustered. In regards to shipping and faxing they get the job done fine and I suppose in the end that's what matters. read more

Hands down the slowest shipping office ever. There are always several people working at the store that should be able to help yet they take an unprecedented amount of time with each customer. They have no concept of timeliness. Their services and supplies are also way overpriced. Don't expect to get in and out of this place in less than 15 min...even if there is only one customer at the store. read more

I would never recommend sending any package of significant value from here. I was charged $600 by AT&T because they didn't receive the phone I sent from this location. Even though I dropped it off with a pre-paid label and box, the USPS tracking reports it was never sent out in the first place. Go Postal has claimed zero responsibility despite the fact records clearly show the package was never picked up in the first place. The woman behind the counter knew I was shipping back an iPhone. Short of video recording her giving the package to the delivery person to pick up it appears I have no other recourse and they will not admit any wrongdoing. Stay far away, it's not worth the risk. read more

I am getting a new passport and had pictures taken that were awful but Go Postal did my re-takes and they turned out awesome! They have a light and take a few for you to look at and choose from. Mine even look photoshopped (which they aren't but I appreciate :)). They are really helpful and friendly every time I go in there. Amazing customer service! Had to renew my US passport and originally was just going to have my picture taken but they were so helpful and knowledged about the process that I ended up mailing my documents from there. They informed me that nowadays there are additional charges when people apply/renew passports in person and it becomes cheaper to mail the application. Before we sealed the envelope the staff made sure everything was filled out & filed correctly. I would have missed signing the papers as it was easy to miss on the form! Thank you! Understaffed but efficient and extremely courteous. I walked in on a Monday morning in desperate need of passport photos after having my original one rejected by the passport agency. I was in a rush to beat the parking meter, and make it back before it got too crowded in the agency. Though there was only one person staffed and several of us waiting, I had my picture taken and was out in ten minutes.
