The food here is amazing packed full of flavor and sides are so delicious. My only warning is the soybean soup is a bit on the salty end. But the fresh veggies and their unquiet marinade on the park is delicious. I stood there for about five minutes feeling completely ignored. When the staff member finally came to the counter, she just stood there silently. After I placed my order, she gave me the total and simply yelled, "One tteokbokki!" to the kitchen. I ended up waiting about 20 minutes for my food. During that time, nobody checked on me or gave me an update on the status of my order. Had I known the tteokbokki would take that long, I probably would have skipped it and just ordered kimbap. While waiting, I observed her interact with several other customers, including an older woman who had a few questions about the menu. Unfortunately, the staff member--who appeared to be the owner's daughter--seemed irritated and impatient. The interaction was uncomfortable enough that another customer stepped in to help the woman understand the menu. Customer service was definitely lacking. As for the food, I ordered three kimbap rolls and one tteokbokki, totaling around $40. The kimbap was fresh and tasted great. The tteokbokki had good flavor, but the portion was surprisingly small. It came with only about eight rice cakes, a few pieces of fish cake, and one egg. The rice cakes were also overcooked and lacked the chewy texture I was expecting. Overall, they offer a good variety of kimbap options, ranging from about $5 to $11, and the food itself was decent. However, the unwelcoming atmosphere really affected the experience. Maybe the staff member was having a rough day, but customers shouldn't feel the impact of that. I might give it a second chance, but I'm definitely on the fence.

Had one today after long absence and it may be the worst bibim nengmyun I've had in all Cali. It was bland, mostly vinegar and beefy taste in broth/sauce. Perhaps it's due to it being portioned extremely small amount of sauce where most of noodles looked naked. It also lacked the signature crushed ice bath in the sauce that adds the cooling effect to the spicy taste. No such ice nor good sauce to make it the experience in warm summer. Service was great and dining area clean. But not coming back for just great smiles and warm service. Yoo's Place across street may have THE best nengmyun in OC.

They have no sit down areas, aside from a bench by the entrance, which is likely for the scenario if they happen to run out of the item you'd like to order and you have to wait for it to be made on the spot. The food: I felt really comfortable ordering here, since all the items are adequately labeled, so I was able to tell which items are vegan and which contained fish sauce or other seafood items and I was unable to have them. This was also super helpful for my friend who had a gluten intolerance, among other dietary restrictions that usually make it difficult for us to dine out together, since the two of us combined cannot eat many things on a typical menu. The floor to ceiling fridges were well stocked with many different types of kimchi, various types of proteins, and other typical banchans you'll see at the local Korean supermarket, but I do think there was a lot more diverse items than the norm. It's not easy finding vegetarian options at Korean spots, so I was happy to see a protein option (tofu) was at least fully vegan. I opted for two vegan kimbaps and a side of braised tofu. My friend picked out one of their sweet rice cakes and a tuna kimbap. Everything was flavorful, well seasoned, and not overly oily or salty, so I would certainly come back for the ease of choosing what I wanted very conveniently. Overall, service was polite, and our food came out within ten minutes, since they happened to run out of the vegan kimbap. Everything else: They do take credit card, and there is ample parking in a shared plaza, although I remember it being rather busy during the dinner rush. The storefront is on the smaller side so it felt rather cramped inside.
