    Brisket Smoke Show
    Melyn G.

Everything from start to finish was beyond my expectations. Heard so many great things ... and the service the food the culture, check check check! Great starter with the Thai green salad leans toward an Asian slaw with basil, cucumbers, and finely diced apple. Followed that up with a customer favorite, the Brisket Smoke Show...holy Toledo Batman! About the only critique I have on this, I just want more curry in my life. The coconut shines thru in this dish and the brisket was perfect. Finished up with a scoop of Dorb's Ube Ice Cream, just enough to fill the last empty spot in my belly. Thank you for making my day curry boys! A fine job you're doing!

I appreciate the friendly service, decor, and fusion options, however... I was hoping the taste of the food was as good as it sounds (from the menu) and looks, but it sounded better. The curry queso was quite salty and not much of a curry taste. We also tried the curry cream corn, brisket and smoked chicken. The cream corn was ok, not much curry either. The brisket by itself had good flavor, combined with the curry and rice was a bit heavy even with the pickles. Overall, the portions were good for the prices. Unfortunately, we just didn't find anything we liked.

Deliciousness one bite at a time. The flavor is unmatched here. It's perfect for a colder SA winter day, but would equally be as enjoyable any other day. The curry is well balanced of savory and a hint of sweetness from the coconut. The service is great and the teams Is there to help you navigate the menu. The brisket is tender and flavorful. The only complaint is that I would want more of the brisket because it is that good! It's a very clean establishment and has fun decor. Can't wait to go back!

On this days food adventure, I was at the airport I remembered that there is a restaurant that I've wanting to try. The restaurant in question is: "Curry Boy BBQ". The establishment is in a strip mall, so plenty of parking is available, upon entering you can see a good amount of seating, the place has a welcoming atmosphere from the layout with the TVs on the wall to the people there, also you notice the menu on the side of the wall including personal menus. As you are choosing your meal, you can choose a fountain drink or a canned drink. Now that you've chosen your meal you are warmly greeted by the hostess who will take your order. They are very kind and super helpful in answering any questions that you might have. The food is brought to your table when done. After all that, now the food, I chose the "Brisket Smoke Show"; any words I say about this dish will not bring justice to this plate. The brisket was cooked to perfection, tender juicy abundant of flavors, the brisket came accompanied by rice and vegetables. The green curry sauce on the rice was equally delicious, overall this plate is phenomenal you can't go wrong with this option. This place has to be on your restaurant list of destinations.

Absolutely fantastic experience!!! Had seen this place (OG location) on Texas Eats and also saw that they also were James Beard nominees...so when we were in the area- it was a must try and it did not disappoint! We started with a couple of beers and their curry queso and chips. The curry queso had such a delicious flavor and a profile that intensified with each chew and came to a velvety "crescendo" as you swallow- absolutely wonderful! Made the beer go down nicely. My wife and I then got the Brisket Smoke Show curry bowl to split and it was amazing! First, the brisket was top notch! Since it was just "the protein" in a green curry dish, I did not anticipate getting truly quality brisket- but damn...this brisket rivaled the best that I've had anywhere. The green curry was absolutely delicious and melded so nicely with the savory flavor of the brisket. While this is an order-at-the-counter model place, the young lady taking orders at the counter was so sweet and attentive. When we went to the counter a 3rd time to order a couple of meals for take out for our kids (chicken curry and pulled pork sandwich), I mentioned how much we enjoyed our experience. She asked if it was our first time eating there and after saying it was, she said we'll give me an extra 5 minutes and I have something for you. She gave us free ube cheesecake with our takeout order. They were light and decadent- so delicious!

Whether you're a local or just passing through, this is a culinary landmark you cannot afford to miss. If you're in San Antonio, Curry Boys BBQ is an absolute destination. Conveniently located near the Pearl, this spot offers a masterclass in flavor that does not disappoint. It is the perfect, unexpected fusion of classic Texas BBQ and aromatic Thai Curry. We started with the Pork Belly Dunkers, which were a fantastic introduction to the menu and highlighted two of their incredible signature sauces. Since it was a Saturday, we were lucky enough to snag the BBQ Ribs special. (Note: the portion actually comes with six ribs; I just wasn't fast enough to snap a photo before my husband and kids dove in!) We also sampled the Pork Belly and Jam, two of their signature curry bowls, and the potato salad. Every single dish was delicious and expertly balanced. I was so impressed that I even picked up their cookbook on the way out!I I can't wait to try recreating these flavors at home!

Curry Boys is insanely delicious! The brisket is so tender, not rope like. The rice and a really good coconut flavor and it is not dry at all! They have super cute, unique decor, a mix of retro, western, and alien!! lol I have been a few times and haven't always seen the same staff but they do always provide great service. On occasion I get a coupon in the mail, great place for a great, affordable meal.

We went last night and we keep talking about our dinner!! The lady who helped us was very knowledgeable and sweet! Speaking of sweet their sweet tea was so good! I had the brisket bowl and my husband had "The Missing Link"... the green curry in mine was spicy but in the best way! Wish we lived closer! Put one in Arlington TX! The restaurant was simple decor but clean.

I have been wanting to try Curry Boys BBQ for a while and they delivered! The menu is both recognizable and eclectic which had my mouth watering. The employee at the counter was wonderful, and took the time to explain the menu and offer suggestions. I ordered the Pulled pork nachos, Brisket smoke show with penang curry, and a side of cold chili garlic noodles. Everything tasted delicious with a twist that challenged my brain and palate just a bit. The restaurant was chill with counter service and food brought out to you. I have to say I enjoyed my visit to Curry Boys BBQ and I will definitely be back!

The sky looked gray so we decided to stay close to home. We hadn't been to @curryboysbbq Stone Oak in a while and went for dinner tonight. We tried the Thai Green Salad and added smoked chicken. Yum! The chicken was very tender and moist. Hubby had the Brisket Smoke Show. Dad and I shared the same and felt quite full. Had the Curry Creamed Corn too. It was good to see that @dorpcreamery offered their Ube and Lychee Strawberry ice cream here. Was too full to fit another bite though. If you've not tried @curryboysbbq, you need to add them to your restaurant list. Not only are they in Stone Oak, but they also have a location in the downtown area.

So delicious! We were told the Brisket Smoke Show is the most popular. We all tried it (3) and it was so good. The Creamed Corn was also highly recommended and it was indeed worth trying. Don't waste your time waiting to try this place.

Between my partner and I we are at a 3.5 so I'll round up. Curry boys: 3/5 We got the brisket and chicken bowls with curry chips & queso on the side, the meat was nice and smoky and the queso was delicious (but not very curry-y), and the curries in the bowls were not very flavorful and pretty watery. The portions are pretty big and I really really enjoyed the chili crisp (they need to bottle that and sell it). The queso was such a miss would not recommend.

Casual spot with quick service. Sadly the food missed the mark. Forgettable flavors on almost every dish we had. One of those takes on Asian fusion that doesn't quite work

Are there any menu items that are not spicy at all (with zero heat)?

I've only eaten here once, so my opinion is based solely on the one bowl I had - Good Luck Cluck. I'm sensitive to spicy foods and this bowl wasn't the hot pepper spicy flavor of Thai curries - not at all. It had good flavor and a ton of rice.

We arrived around 5pm on a Thursday and got in queue which was out the door and wrapping around the front porch. Their host/doorman was kind, he offered the line water on many occasions and made pleasantries with almost all guests as the line moved. It was a hot day so those waters were clutch. By the time we made it to the front of order line maybe 40 minutes had passed. But ladies and gents the wait is worth it. When we plated our trays on the table my family all had heart eyes, and had equally loved our first bites. Their brisket is extremely tender. It's beautifully sliced and made for an amazing welcome back to the South taste for me. I was in heaven. I particularly enjoyed having the fresh pickled red onion for fresh, zesty cuts through the abundance of other saltier elements on the plate. Their menu is slammin! Their sides, and sausages all had crafty ingredients. I enjoyed their spicy link options and their macaroni was delightful. Their BBQ sauce was a nice 4/5 but certainly did the job. As a native Texan who's had their fair share, this was easily some of the best barbecue I've ever had. Top 5 top 5 top 5. I'm of course coming back and looking forward for more banana cream pudding especially. They were small, slightly sweet, and had great balance with the vanilla wafer ratio. That whip cream on top too had me hooked. I couldn't have asked for a better welcome back meal for the bold Texas cuisine, hospitality, and novelty animal and cowboy decor.

3 Stars -- Good for the Zoo Crowd, Not for True Texas BBQ Fans…read moreLet me start by saying my three stars are strictly for the food -- not the location, not the vibe. Augie's is a solid convenience spot if you're spending the day at the Zoo or Brackenridge Park. Think of it as the Texas BBQ equivalent of good food inside Disneyland: it's not great, but for where you are, it'll do the job. As for the BBQ itself... nothing really stands out. The brisket was bland and barely warm, and most of the sides were cold. The place wasn't even busy -- just my table of five and another small group -- so that didn't help justify the temperature or quality issues. The jalapeño cheese sausage was the one bright spot, packing a decent kick and some real flavor. Portions and utensils felt a little stingy -- you'll probably snap a fork trying to dig into anything, and if you ask for extra sauce, expect a tiny salsa-sized cup. On the positive side, the staff was friendly and the setting is great. You get nice views of the driving range and can catch the Brackenridge Park train rolling by, which gives the place a relaxed, local feel. Final Take: Would I recommend this place as a true Texas BBQ destination? Absolutely not -- you'll find better brisket at Buc-ee's or Rudy's. But if you're already at the park or zoo and need something quick and convenient, it's a fine spot to grab a bite and keep your day moving
