Extremely Disappointing Experience - Not Worth the Price After spending way too much money for what was an absolutely frustrating night, I feel compelled to warn others. Here's what went wrong: Service Failures: - Sat at our table for 20+ minutes before anyone acknowledged us, despite multiple servers visibly wandering the floor - Nearly impossible to flag down any staff for assistance - Had to repeatedly ask -- multiple times -- just to get our food brought out Order Chaos: - Placed an order and nothing arrived - Re-ordered the same items -- still nothing - Ordered a third time and only part of the order finally showed up - Wrong items from previous orders kept appearing at the table - After all that waiting and receiving only a fraction of what we ordered, a server had the audacity to come over and announce last call for menu orders -- as if we had been adequately fed and served Basic Negligence: - Ordered soup and received no spoon -- had to call a server - Was told a spoon was coming... it never did - The soup sat and went completely cold before I could eat it Food & Table Conditions: - Meat quality was genuinely terrible -- not close to worth the price - Side dishes on the table were swimming in greasy meat oil -- completely unappetizing This was an expensive meal for what amounted to cold soup, missing orders, zero attentive service, and leaving hungry. I saw an instagram ad for this place and it looked amazing. I really don't mind the price if the food was at that quality but unfortunately it wasn't. I took my friend there for a belated 40th birthday lunch: the ad I saw looked amazing so I was afraid it would be packed on a Saturday so I made reservations. We drove from Fullerton, kinda far for eh quality. For that price I should have gone to Chubby Cattle. The staff were really nice and attentive. The cook or owner was kinda rude with a smile. We're the type of girls that need rice paper with kbbq but their rice paper was so hard. We asked the nice waitress if there were softer one? We've never been to a Korean bbq with such bad rice paper. Seriously dry and hard. The chef came out just to tell us that's how rice paper is like we don't eat kbbq anywhere else. Haha what a joke. He said all they do is open the package it comes in and cut it and serve. He boiled it and brought us a 4th plate to say that all he can do. The top and bottom ones were still hard but a few of the middle ones were a little softer. I don't know what other kbbq restaurants do. But it's not hard like that. Maybe buy another brand of rice paper? Not sure what to tell you chef. Just being honest. It was not edible. I really came there for the supreme menu because on that menu you get the bone in rib. That was amazing. But I also came for the blue crab wrap because I heard it was amazing but it was gross to me I couldn't even finish it and I love crab. It was very fishy. You also can only get the omasake on the supreme menu but it was a fail. It did have some caviar on it to try to make it look fancy. I like what I believe was the blue fin fatty tuna because it melted in my mouth. The salmon was slice too thin. I didn't think you could F*** up salmon but I was wrong. I love salmon. The regular tuna and yellow tail was good. I love uni but thought the shrimp uni caviar was gross I had to spit it out. The shrimp wasn't like the sweet shrimps I'm use to. It was slimy. They did have lobster tail with butter which one good but it's only one per person. I love wagu brisket but theirs was a little too fatty and that says a lot from me because I love fat. After we finished eating I got the cookie and crème ice cream and the strawberry ice cream. I didn't get a ramen but the ramen bar is cool. There's a milk coffee, cappuccino, hot chocolate machine. I loved the coffee I had like 5 lol. After eating we played the claw machine and won 4 cute Pokémon plus keychains. I was so excited to come here but I was disappointed. Unfortunately I wouldn't be coming back. There's better options for that price. read more

First round on the grill: Wagyu ribeye, Wagyu top blade, plus a lineup of prime cuts with crazy marbling that literally melts in your mouth But don't skip the MUST-ORDERS: * Giant beef rib * Prime boneless short rib (only on supreme + ridiculously tender) And the sushi just kept getting better... Seared scallop with uni, truffle salmon, and that blue crab roll?? next level decadent. Easily one of the most unique bites I've had. They offer this nonsense half off if your child is under a certain height. Not sure why I would choose to pay 60 dollars for a 6 year old and had to pay more because of genetics. We went there to try a new place on our days off. The ambiance is great- restaurant has the Japanese claw machines in front something to enjoy while you wait to be seated. The tables are well spaced out and each one has the vaccuum for smoke. The meat were well seasoned and very good my husband loved it. Small portions though. The only thing is the sides are kinda old, not freshly made, but edible. Pricey too! But the sushi selection are great and they all taste good and they have the wings you can choose from. Came here with my family on a Saturday evening after my mom heard about it, and we had a great experience overall. This is an AYCE BBQ and sushi spot with a wide variety of options, and the quality is noticeably higher than most AYCE places. The food came out quickly, the grill changes were frequent, and the service was excellent throughout. At first, the ordering system was a bit confusing. Everything is done through your phone via a QR code, and there are rules around ordering (one order every 5 minutes, with limits on items per round). Since my parents aren't very tech-savvy, it took a little getting used to, but the staff was very accommodating and helped take some of our requests verbally. Tip: if multiple people at your table are ordering, coordinate and submit full orders each time. If everyone just orders a couple of items individually, you'll end up waiting another 5 minutes per round. They're still pretty new, so there were some promos going on. We got a free beer, which was a nice touch. Also, don't skip dessert. The included ice cream was really good (cookies & cream and strawberry were both solid). For the base price of $57.99 the meat is mid at best. Meats are sliced very thin especially the ribeye and the meat quality aren't that great comparing to other AYCE places for around the same price. The sushi is alright and decent at best. The salmon is also slice really thin. And the crispy rice salmon seem to taste like the rice have been left out for awhile The marinated meat were so sweet that we lost our appetite after eating it The service was okay, although our server had too much cologne on. Which was unpleasant. The decor of the restaurant is very bland, it seems to be very old, and the bathroom is dirty which for a new restaurant that is currently on a grand opening weekend is concerning. Apparently they are reusing old grills they inherited from the previous restaurant before the new ones they ordered arrives. The nonstick coating on the grills kept coming off and sticking to the meat. I wasn't even sure if it was safe to eat and it certainly wasn't appetizing to see the meat covered in black bits of grill coating. We were seated right away after making a reservation on yelp, we were explained the different menu options in detail and the food came less than 10 mins after submitting my order. Great experience with a group of 6! They seated us at a big table that was spacious. I really enjoyed both the sushi and kbbq quality, I ordered an equal amount of bbq meats and sushi throughout my meal. They just opened so they're still trying to find their groove, but our server Onder was really attentive and made sure our experience was enjoyable. Also it can be easy to miss, but they have a self-serve instant ramen bar at the front entrance that I'll be sure to try next time. They also have a self-serve instant coffee and hot chocolate machine that was a nice touch after our meal. A few recommendations for the Gogi Nori team: the music at the front entrance is a bit too loud and overwhelming, needs to be turned down. Checked out GogiNori in Irvine recently and came away really impressed with the quality across the board. The top-tier menu definitely leans more premium, but you can tell you're getting high-quality ingredients. The wagyu ribeye and prime boneless short rib were my favorite cuts. Both were super tender and packed with flavor. I was also surprised by how good the omakase sushi was. I wasn't expecting sushi to be one of the highlights at a KBBQ spot, but the uni scallop and truffle salmon blue crab were both excellent. One thing I really liked was the DIY ramen bar at the end of the meal. I made myself a bowl of Buldak ramen to finish everything off, and pairing that with the sushi was something I'd never done before. It actually worked way better than I expected and is probably something I'll be doing again. Overall, a really solid spot if you're looking for high-quality KBBQ with some extras that make the experience even more fun. read more

It seemed like the party next to us was also (unpleasantly) surprised when stuck paying premium prices when their website advertised lunch specials? The server claimed that they have yet to update their webpage and menus to reflect that lunch prices are only available Mon - Thurs. Foodwise: Meat cuts were mostly mediocre (ie., cuts for meats like brisket were on the thicker end). The sushi was okay (?) but nothing crazy fresh, but what do you expect from an AYCE that has both bbq and sushi... stay away from anything that has fried toppings like garlic or onion they taste super stale and hard.. This place hardly had anyone in it, but we tried it anyway because we never had AYCE bbq and sushi. One of the plates of meat came out with a clump of hair stuck to it, and they brought out the wrong sushi a couple of times. This made me worried about the cleanliness of their kitchen and if their meats are fresh. But we didn't complain. We even left a really good tip for the waiter because he was by himself, but attentive, and working at the front counter too. We grabbed a couple of what we thought were complimentary packs of ramen and tea and stayed to check out the crane machines they had on the way out. No one told us the ramen and tea were not complimentary while we were standing there. We got in our van to leave, and the chef or owner came all the way out to the parking lot, knocked on our door to tell us that they weren't complimentary. We gave the two packets back to him and obviously we won't be back. If this guy is this cheap, imagine how he runs his business. read more

We ordered the premium BBQ, and it was honestly more than enough food. The Korean BBQ was the highlight--the meat quality was really good and everything came out quickly, which made the experience smooth and enjoyable. Even our kids loved it, which says a lot. The sushi was solid and offered a nice variety, though it did take a little time to come out--but we didn't mind since we were enjoying the BBQ in the meantime. Overall, the combination of Korean BBQ and sushi makes this place really fun and different. Service was excellent. Our server, Onder, was awesome--super friendly, attentive, and clearly very experienced with Korean BBQ. He really helped elevate the whole experience for us. One of the coolest parts of the night was their grand opening raffle. Each guest got a Squid Game-style cookie to carve, and somehow our whole family managed to succeed (which we heard isn't easy ), so we ended up with four raffle tickets! Such a fun and unique touch--we're excited to see if we win when they announce it on Instagram. Since it was their grand opening, there were a few small logistical things still being worked out (which is totally expected). For example, the sesame oil was served on soy sauce platters, which made it a little tricky to add to our existing sauces, and some window blinds weren't installed yet so part of our table had the sun shining directly in their faces. There were also a few posters around that made it a bit tight getting in and out of seats during the rush. Nothing major--just minor things that will likely get smoothed out quickly. The total came out to around $200, which is on the higher side, but pretty expected for premium all-you-can-eat--and definitely worth it for the quality, variety, and overall experience.
