I love this place. The atmosphere was gorgeous (gentle fountain, stunning art, rich wood tables), the service was beyond exemplary, and the food...oh, the food. I split the goat cheese winter rolls and clay pot meal with a friend. Every bite delivered a myriad of flavors, each complex and surprising. The rice was crispy and soft (where appropriate), the meat was tender and flavorful, and each bite of the vegetables, no matter how small, held onto all the taste and structural integrity of the full plant. Ask for Christina. Ask her to order for you. It'll be the best thing you've ever done for yourself. There are a plethora of options both for vegetarians and meat-eaters. The menu is extensive, but the servers are very helpful and willing to walk you through it. I don't know how, but Goji Kitchen creates a tranquil paradise of deliciousness while located in the same shopping complex as a Big Lots. I guess it's just the magic of this place. read more

The food is fresh and delicious and they use a lot of organic and non GMO ingredients (including Tofu which is important). But, they are ALWAYS slow in terms of getting food out and service. Like 7 out of 7 times I have been here. So plan accordingly. Ambience is ok but food is worth it. read more

Stopped here for breakfast today on a Monday morning right as they opened for business. Ordered a large p4 ( pho dac biet). The portion was good and there was a generous side of veggies. First time here, went with a friend who recommended it. She being vegetarian ordered a garlic eggplant dish. I ordered the kung pao chicken. We also sheared vegetarian egg rolls and ordered some brown rice to split. I have really never had kung pao chicken like this. It consisted of huge chunks of chicken , a few peanuts and a couple of chili peppers. The sauce was very thick, almost like a gravy. No vegetables such as celery, red bell pepper or green onions. My boyfriend and I tried Goji Kitchen for the first time this weekend after hearing my boss raving about the "bun". The menu is intense; this is because the restaurant has many, many offerings. We ordered and enjoyed a bun, rice, and their vegetables (very fresh) with beef. Everything was delish, and after we were done they brought out two very pretty little oranges cut into wedges. Solid dining experience. The staff are pleasant and helpful. Had the spring roll sampler. The chicken and shrimp spring rolls were delicious. The goat cheese, feh. I know it's their signature thing, but it just isn't good. It's too dry, or too cheesy, something is just off. The pho was good, nice star anise flavor, and full of tripe, flank steak, the good stuff. It's nice getting an individual plate of jalapenos, beans and basil, not having to portion it out so your companions don't get shorted. Tried something different last night for dinner! Rather than our typical "go to" meals we ordered several items that we had never tried and sounded amazing!! We were not disappointed!! We ordered several spring rolls, all were terrific but, our favorite was the Sonoma Goat Cheese. Also, ordered their 5-spice chicken and brown rice wrapped in a banana leaf. Who knew that a banana leaf would up the rice game! For once, we are excited to have left overs tonight!. I love this place! I've been a number of times now and haven't been let down. They have some great patio seating outside if you choose to ride your bike over there and want to keep an eye on it. The prices are reasonable, too. I highly recommend the sampler rolls. Shrimp? Chicken? Goat cheese? Sign me up! Their vermicelli bun dishes are pretty good, especially on a hot day when you want something tasty but not too heavy or hot. Their pho is also pretty darn good, too. Usually this place is good but today I ordered rice vermicelli with grilled beef. It looked promising since it was served in a big bowl but it was like 75% bean sprouts and lettuce and there wasn't very much noodles in the bowl which was disappointing. Other than that the food was tasty. Their rice plates and soups are really good, I was just taken by surprise by the amount of "filler" and the lack of noodles in this dish. Absolutely, surprisingly delish for a foodie who's been fortunate enough to have been surrounded by authentic Vietnamese food in the Bay Area all my life. Pit stopped here on the way up to Russian River Brewery. Hubby and I were super skeptical when we discovered it boasted of "fusion" dishes ... but good Lord! Ordered the banh coun and it was so satisfying. Only downside was that the rice noodle was a bit mushy. I'd certainly stop by to try more items...perhaps the pho next???!!! I am not a fan of just add water Chinese food, but this place is different. First of all, the food is interchangeable. Perfect if you are vegetarian. We were a group of 7. We ordered 5 dishes and had plenty of food. Presentation, quality and quantity easy 5 stars. The staff was tentative and was great. They have plentiful entrees and options to choose from which is great but I wish I had ordered something else besides their chow mein because it was nothing special but their egg rolls on the other hand were absolutely delicious. Back again and still WOW. Some favorites and new one's. The starter of rice noodles with pork was a meal in itself. The pork was a classic you can count on good. I like potstickers but these are unusually delicious-the best. There's a bit very bit of spice and this wonderful taste that makes these the best & they're huge. Sea bass again was massive and a delight. Even their garden salad was really differently good (I don't like veggies but eat them because it's good for you) as the salad dressing was differently good. This go around I found out they have a baker. The baker made a white frosting cream cake with raspberries. My word that was event worthy for a cake. It could be a cake you'd have at a large event like a wedding, birthday party, etc. Just a great local place! _________________________________________________________ Wow what a find - I'm not from the area. Friends took us. Delicious! If you like sea bass, my word order it immediately and enjoy. Good basic salad to start. They had the unusual fried chicken drumstick stuffed with shrimp rice which I haven't had in years. We had the rice noodles with some sliced meat on top which was very good. My beau and I were pleasantly surprised when we happened upon this place a few months ago- it is now our favorite 'chinese' spot in town. One of the things we ordered to-go was the chicken noodle soup and we were first hesitant about all the ingredients being put in separate containers. But when we put all those ingredients together... YUM- we love that soup!!! The fresh mint, jalapeno, bean shoots, and special spice sauce along with the freshly sliced chicken breast and broth all make for a heartwarming, light, totally feel-good soup. This place was awesome! They're lemongrass chicken I must admit was darn delicious! It wasn't dry or pasty, it was sauteed with scallions and various onions with light sauce and it was the perfect mix! Not too spicy, not to dry, and definately hitting the spot! Another one of my favorites was the free-range chicken noodle soup! It was a change to see that the chicken was not shredded! It was white chicken breasts SLICED finely into small portions and it was probably the best invention to this traditional pho! I love the garlic they add in it, and the aroma was heavenly! A bite into it was more than enough to tell my tummy that it was well worth the wait for pho! Sorry Goji, first visit 6 months ago was good...you were relatively new in town. But now, ordered the chow mein with prawns, barbecue pork, and chicken....'found three prawns, and what constituted less than an ounce of chiken and no pork. So what I received was a huge plate of noodles for $12....Keep this up and you will have to go out of business, because there are alot of other choices in Santa Rosa, even those in "tacky strip malls", like the one you're in. read more

This place is pretty decent. They use fresh ingredients and everything I've had has been good. My husband and I have eaten here a few times (takeout and dine in) and the service is always good and fast. I really like their Chinese chicken salad and wonton soup. The only thing I had that I didn't care for was a Vermicelli bowl. I tasted like it had too much fish sauce but maybe that was a fluke. Yum city! This place hits the mark, and adds a wonderful new option to the Santa Rosa Asian food dining experience. With moderately priced apps and main courses, Goji Kitchen makes a great spot for casual lunch or dinner, while the nicely decorated interior and excellent service provide a perfect date spot or planned evening out. Went here on a Saturday night with my wife and 2 friends, we all shared the Imperial Rolls, a Free Range Chicken Pho, the Walnut Prawns and Kung Pao Chicken. The imperial rolls are delicious, deep fried shrimp spring rolls, served with a thin sweet/sour dipping sauce. The Bomb Free Range chicken Pho was also ridiculously good. Hot delicious broth, tasty chicken and perfectly done noodles. The fresh veggies were good, but could have used more, especially the jalapenos. Also, didnt come with crushed peanuts that i've sometimes had with Pho. Great nonetheless. Walnut prawns, fried, slathered in mayo-based sweet sauce, toasted walnuts and fresh pineapple chunks. Amazing, but almost too much after a few bites, the sweetness of the pineapple and the mayo sauce is pretty heavy. Kung Pao Chicken, great sauce, on the thick side, but perfect flavor, dried roasted chiles, peanuts, everything a Kung Pao Chicken should be. We had green tea, and I enjoyed a Chau Tien pale ale, which leads me to a funny story. While browsing the beverage list, i noticed the Chau Tien, with a note after it reading "Vietnamese Beer Brewed in Humboldt County". This caught my attention, because i know very well that Chau Tien is brewed by Anderson Valley Brewing Company in Beautiful Boonville, Ca, which happens to be in Mendocino county, not Humboldt, AND just so happens to be my hometown, as well as my favorite brewery EVER! So i promptly and politely informed the waitress that the menu was incorrect, and advised her to make the change, as not to offend any of the other Boonvillans that might happen across Goji Kitchen! Anyways, long story short... Goji=Go there! its great, and moderately priced (under 10 bucks for most entrees) and nicely decorated too! read more

My new favourite Vietnamese place in town bringing with it some of The China Room's best dishes! And it's walking distance from my house - I couldn't be happier! Excellent food - lately they have been very busy and the service is not as good as it could be, but I love it anyway. The owners are awsome and gave us free stuff to try a couple of times. Very generous and very nice. I highly recommend this restaurant and it's cheap!! It's similar in price to Simply Vietnam but the restaurant itself is so much more classy and pleasant to be in! Have been here twice for lunch and both times had the chicken noodle bowl. They were both delicious, I am a fan! The food is fresh and they seem to be very aware of presentation and good service. Not only was the waitress very well educated on what was Gluten Free and not on their menu, she steered me right with their yellow coconut curry. I will also second that the Prawn stuffed chicken wings are fan-tastic - and also Gluten Free, they use rice flour! Double win! Wow was this place a dissapointment!! I love Asian food but it seems these "chefs?" don't know how to cook it. The food...I asked the waitress about the Lemongrass Spicy Beef Soup. She told me it was one of her favorites...which we heard her say to others about other things...not too sure if she was being honest or not. I told her I normally get the steak Pho but since this is my first time here I was thinking of trying the Lemongrass soup. She said the Lemongrass soup had a little shrimp paste in it which I was totally fine with. My husband ordered the chow fun...because he knows I always love it...to be sweet. When the food did come...at very seperate times... it was NOT good. My soup tasted NOTHING like lemongrass OR beef. The "little bit of shrimp paste" was a TON with a TON of hoisin sauce...YUCK!! The sides for my soup were so stingy. The meat in my soup was almost half hard cartilage/fat/weird shiny rainbow colored meat which made the broth so greasy it was disgusting. I had to pick all the meat out to find one that didn't have any yuck in it but couldn't find a single piece so I left it all on a plate since I just couldn't stomach it. My soup was so stinky people kept looking around with sour looks on their faces until they finally looked at our table...quite a few people did this. My husband's chow fun was not cooked well AT ALL! The texture of the noodles were mushy and slimy. All my life I've never had chow fun this texture. After having to get up to ask someone for more water (which had been empty for a long time) the waitress comes by and I ask her if the meat is normally full of hard gristle and like this...pointing to the plate of yuck. She just says "that's how flank steak is". She asked about the broth too which I said ehh with a worried look on my face. So she just left...great customer service..NOT!! The bus boy came by asked if we needed boxes and ran away without filling my water so I had to ask for water again....UGH!!! I brought my soup home thinking I could fix my $13 soup up but when I opened the lid it smelled so fishy and strong it made my stomach turn. I poured off a TON of grease but there was a TON more!! After pouring off the grease three times I just gave up. Needless to say I never ate the soup. Giving this business a chance before yelping them I clicked their contact us link and wrote them...politely of course but never heard back...not surprised. It sounds like the menu here is hit or miss. If you want a fancy looking/trendy restaurant but don't really care about customer service or if your food is delicious or not then this is your place...not for me. read more

We love good mandarin Chinese food and this is THE best I've ever had! Service was quick and cheerful. I didn't have that feeling you sometimes get when you sense the server wishes s/he were ANYwhere but there, serving you. As it happened, we chatted with several of the servers and every one of them were friendly, genuine & unaffected. Prices were very reasonable, too. EXTENSIVE menu. I had sweet & sour chicken because (1) I love it and (2) I have found that, if I like the sweet & sour sauce, I'm gonna like the other dishes' sauces----the cook knows how to snag that "balance" in the mix. It's been proven to me several times, so it's sort of a test I do. Their sweet & sour sauce was absolutely PERFECT----not too sweet, not too sour----and the chicken was tender as it could be. One of my favorite restaurants in Santa Rosa. My experience has been that the food is always fresh, cooked thoughtfully, without too much added fat and salt, the staff is always friendly and the overall atmosphere is nice. I love Vietnamese food, but my husband hates it, which is why we like this restaurant. He can order something Chinese, and we're both happy. I would say that those with a negative experience here are an anomaly, not the norm. read more
