I was expecting just an average dining experience, and was pleased to find it was much better than that. Friends whom we were with had dined here before and recommended it after a matinee at SRJC Summer Rep. We like Asian food, and agreed to go. Unassuming location in a little strip mall. Some outside tables overlooking the parking lot. We ate inside in the nicely appointed dining room. Service was great throughout. Several people waited on us alternately, and each was good. Very knowledgeable about the menu. (We even asked questions about what nearby diners were having.) Anyway... Fairly extensive menu with the usual suspects -- pho, bowls, "Chinese" dishes. Some unusual and interesting sounding rolls, though we didn't order any. I had a green papaya salad with black tofu. Good flavor and very nicely presented. I was the only vegetarian in the group. The omnivores ordered beef and broccoli, honey walnut prawns, and orange chicken. What impressed most was the freshness of the ingredients and the quality of the meat. My partner commented that often at Asian restaurants, the meat is gristly or chewy or mysterious. The meat and the prawns in their dishes was very good. Prices are reasonable. We're going to another play at SRJC Summer Rep next month, and we plan on going back to Goji to try more things. read more

Best pho of my life, the bun is also amazing kinda like Chinese chicken salad with rice noodle, and the walnut prawns are also the best I've ever had. Not everything is organic curious if the broth in the pho is or what is if the owners can answer that would be awesome that's how I found them by typing organic. They do have organic sake tho the rice is grown in California than shipped to Japan and sent back here once brewed, pretty far travel to get the usda of stamp. These potstickers are on another level! My husband is very picky about his potstickers and gives these 2 thumbs up! They are HUGE! We ordered take out dinner for 4 people and I swear the bag weighed more than 15lbs! So much food. We got combination fried rice, sweet and sour pork, beef and broccoli, and pot stickers. I've been going to Goji since it first opened, years ago. I was sure I'd reviewed it before, but apparently not. My oversight. Goji is absolutely top notch. They buy local and organic when practical. Their food, veggies, etc. are fresh, tofu organic, chicken is Rocky; That makes all the difference! All the staff have always been kind and attentive. Many places ruin fried dishes by using burnt or old oil -- not Goji; If you order anything fried there, you'll taste the vegetables and freshness, not the oil. The folks who run the place are super professional and attentive. I've probably had over 100 meals here and I'm looking forward to 100+ more. read more

This is the best place for chinese and thai food. I've always had trouble finding curry I like, and their yellow coconut chicken curry was incredible!! It included acorn squash which I've never had in a curry before and I loved it. Their portions are huge, for a reasonable price. We also got the sweet and sour pork and combination chow mein. Everything was perfect. Best spring rolls I've ever had. Only reason it's 4 stars is because we weren't big fans of the spring roll combination platter. This is my absolute favorite place for Pho. Even when I lived in Seattle for a few years, I never found a Pho place that matched it. Their broth is so flavorful and their ingredients taste so fresh and real. Not like the bouillon and msg flavored broth I find at so many other places. Their War Wonton soup is great too, as are many of their other dishes, but this will always be my pho place. read more

Requested gluten free noodles and the lady taking my order suggested egg noodles, which contain gluten. Super huge liability - not to mention making people sick. When I ordered my correct rice noodle dish gluten-free, it came without sauce. So basically, just oily rice noodles with veggies. When I brought it up to the lady, she looked at me and said "what do you want me to do about it?" Restaurants that claim to offer gluten free options should do more than simply remove the sauce which contains gluten. Traditional soy sauce does not contain gluten, just soy. I've been to this place 2 times now and I just have to say the second time blew me away. It's probably the best Chinese food in town. I can't believe this little gem of a spot exists. It's in a small shopping center so you wouldn't expect it to be that good but it is good. Service was excellent and the food was just so good. I used to like Gary chus the most for my Chinese fix but I will never go back there again as long as goji exists. They are better priced, better service and better food. The food was portioned good and the flavor was just spot on. 2 of us sat down and got 1 order of the chicken and BBQ pork chow mien and a order each of white rice with 2 dishes and it was enough for 3. It was so good we ate it all but we were uncomfortable afterwards. It was worth it though. I can't say enough, this place is so so good. read more

Oh wow. Do I love Goji Kitchen. Love the little green salad that comes prior to the main meal; love the sweet and sour prawns with the crispy and colorful bell pepper and onions and pineapple. I've been here probably 4 times within the last month or so. Really a nice atmosphere in the restaurant, I'd say upscale, and so far, the service has been great. Next time I have lunch there, I plan to try the eggplant and garlic sauce dish that they advertise on the legend just outside the entry way door. Hang Ah has been a favorite of mine, this is another Asian restaurant close by, as I love dim sum. But now I alternate between Hang Ah and Goji Kitchen, with the latter taking a recent lead! read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!! I waited 50 minutes for my food, yes 50 minutes for my food and there was NO food! I was on my lunch break: 1 hour. I went there to meet up with a girlfriend for Christmas lunch and we both left with EMPTY stomachs. It was so ridiculous that I had to write this review. It was around 12 noon, I requested for table of 2. We sat at our table for half hour then they gave us some tea. I checked with the waitress and busboy for my food and they said it would be ready in 5 minutes; they were busy during lunch. Two tables came in sat next to us around 12:30pm, and about 5 minutes later they got their food!!! Then at 12:50pm, I finally got up and left because I had to go back to work. The owners and waitress did not once apology for the mistake or wait time. What kind of business is this? There are ton of restaurants in Santa Rosa to choose from and I do not need this treatment. It was unacceptable and annoyed to go out for lunch and did not get food. This is not the place to go if you are in hurry unless you can wait for 2 hours. Amazing! This is some of the best Pho in town. In my opinion even better then Pho Vietnam or Simply Pho Their chicken Pho is by far the best in town, and probably the bay area. One of the great things is that their Vegetarian Pho is actually Vegan, not the case at most Vietnamese restaurants. I used to go to this place regularly, at least once per week. I thought the food was good and clean. That has changed dramatically. The food is not even close to as good as it used to be. Read on so you too, can avoid this restaurant. The main reason I am writing this review is to inform people of the sketchy situation I had there recently. Myself and my two adult children went there for dinner about a month ago and when we walked in there was only a table of two seated and eating. All other tables were empty. The waitress was on the phone so I used the restroom and when I came back my kids were still waiting to be seated. So I said let's just go sit down. A few minutes later the waitress came to our table clearly annoyed and very rudely threw the menus in front of us and told me why she did not come over to us immediately. A slue of excuses, I didn't ask for. I said nothing. We proceeded to order and as we did so almost all the other tables became full. We were the first there and last in the entire restaurant to get served. Clearly this was by design. I annoyed her somehow. I was so uncomfortable that I called the next day to tell the owner of my experience for his information as myself and my husband have been the business for years. The first thing he said to me was "oh she had a stomach ache". Ok, sorry to hear that maybe she should have gone home. I was going to leave it at that and then he invited us back for a free dinner. I wasn't going back. My kids talked me into it about a month later. We made reservations so they knew who we were before we showed up and upon arriving the "man" owner came to my table said he didn't remember me and I mentioned the waitresses name and he smiled and said oh yes! We proceeded to order the exact same thing we ordered last time. We did not get a waitress but the owner's wife took our order and brought our food. This is the most ridiculous part!!! She brought our bill and said we were to pay for dinner but she would comp the drinks and the appetizer!! Uh, no, I said I would pay for the drinks and appetizer and they could pay for the dinner. I was outraged but decided not to argue with her as my kids were there and I never intended to go back ever again anyway. She immediately changed the bill after this interaction, clearly trying to not pay for what they offered in the first place. After speaking to my husband who runs high end restaurants for many years I decided that you all should know that these people are clearly not customer service oriented and on top of that they have cheaped out almost all the dishes I have tried. They taste bland and there is clearly no care in the preparation anymore. The place has done well for while but I doubt it will stay that way for long at this rate. Try Pho Vietnam they are way better tasting, cheaper with bigger serving and way nicer people. This was an awful experience not once but twice!! read more

I'm really hankering to go back to this place; the food is wonderful, the décor is pleasant and calming (although the acoustics are a bit rough). Both my visits have been on a Tuesday night and business was quite steady with new patrons coming in as others were leaving. Their Chow Fun (I had the Combination Chow Fun) is the best I've had anywhere on the west coast. The noodles were cooked to perfection--soft but not mushy--giving a satisfying bite with every chopstick-ful. They were savory yet not salty. The included chicken and prawns were also quite flavorful and generously sized. My only minor quibble was that I really could not detect the BBQ pork. I can't say enough good things about the Yellow Curry Coconut Chicken with the Kabocha Squash; it was heavenly. The curry sauce was sweet but not overly sweet and the curry was not overpowering. It was a good flavor balance and the consistency was perfect--just thick enough to cling to the chicken and squash. I'd be happy to eat it like a creamy soup! I'm not familiar with this Kabocha squash and I'm generally not a squash fan but I want more of these wonderful, hefty yet compact morsels; they seem more like a sweet potato than squash. The Grilled Chicken Vermicelli Bun was also very good and surprisingly filling. Next time I want to try one of their clay pots but I'm going to have trouble not re-ordering that Curry Coconut Chicken and some Chow Fun. I try my best not to get in a rut but I'm one of those people who tends to re-order the same dish again and again when I find one I really like. If you're vegan, the staff appeared very knowledgeable and seemingly truthful if an offered dish was vegan suitable or not (the woman next to us asked many questions regarding ingredients). If you're craving Asian food it's nice that one restaurant offers many ethnically and dietary enjoyable selections. read more

Goji Kitchen has tons of clearly marked vegan options, which I'm super appreciate of. I went once and had the vegan pho, which was definitely lacking flavor. My boyfriend got vegan noodles, which included some vegan meat substitute that was awesome, but super greasy. I will go again in hopes we just ordered wrong! Holy freaking crap! Vegan pho! In Santa Rosa! It's listed on the menu as vegan noodle soup, but is quite literally vegan pho and it is damned good. I've also tried the crispy young tofu (amazing sauces), the vegan steamed flat rice rolls (I have never had a dish like this before, super good, will definitely order it again) and their tofu clay pot. This clay pot deal was just straight up sexy, overflowing with a mountain of fried tofu, mushrooms and whole cloves of garlic. Haaamazing. The service is excellent too, they have extremely attentive staff. Only down side is that it can get REALLY busy during dinner time. Get there early or make reservations. read more

Goji has become one of my favorite lunch spots. A mix of Vietnamese and Chinese dishes, their menu has a good balance of remarkably healthy, simple dishes (veggie spring rolls and vegan Pho) with the less healthy but very delicious (Orange sesame chicken, clay pots-- meat and vegetarian are all very delicious). My usual has become the pot stickers alongside the vegetarian fried rice, which is topped with lightly roasted almonds-- and tastes great with the pot sticker sauce! It is clear that they value the service as much as the carefully planned menu, and it shows. As noted by other happy reviewers, it is a pleasant surprise in the a place that hosts a Big Lots, CVS, and gas station.
